Oh No! Not Another One!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret right at the start of another year!

We didn't stay up until midnight to see the new year in 'cos The Missus was tired and fell asleep at eight, so we packed her off to bed!

The ferrets were fast asleep as soon as it got dark. Holly and I had mugged Old Two Legs for half his dinner, so, we had full tummies and just didn't have the energy to stay awake and finally, OTL had been chewing on some shortbread and a little 'Water of Life' to help wash it down!

He managed ten fifteen before deciding that bed would be a good option!

It was sunrise before we got up this morning!

Now, the man from the Premium Bond people hasn't knocked on our door today so it looks like OTL will have to go back to work tomorrow!

This morning he went to his clothes cupboard to find a shirt, switched the light on which immediately  went 'Pop' and refused to work any more!

That was it, OTL got the right hump, in the thirty years we have been in this house that is the second bulb to blow in his cupboard and what is worse, they don't make the bulbs any more!

It was still sort of foggy out to sea today and there was rain threatened but we didn't see any more than a couple of rain drops that didn't even register on the weather monitor thingy in OTL's office!

A poor sunrise and foggy as well, not the best start to the New Year!
The ferrets, May and Eric had some fun in the grass after getting off the beach and Eric asked for a carry. OTL picked him up and was rubbing the side of his neck when he felt a small lump!

OTL knows all about lumps and announced that it felt like a 'Tick'!

Eric doesn't know what a Tick is and he did a wriggle when OTL went back for another feel. By now the lump had moved and OTL found it again, just as Eric went into 'Wriggle Mode' again!

That was it, Eric got held by the scruff as OTL did a more detailed examination, only to find the lump had fallen off.

No Tick, just a bit of rubbish picked up from rummaging in the grass! Lucky Ferret!

Lunchtime the world and his wife were out walking along our Sea Wall, loads of woofers and Two Legs with Mini Two Legs.

Of course, almost everyone stopped and wanted to see the ferrets, have a stroke of the ferrets, talk about ferrets and ask Daddy if they can have as a pet!

Boring or wot!

Holly and I had a game of 'Chase' on the beach but no one asked about us, just the blooming ferrets!

Look, I've just buried a ferret!
Holly pretended she had buried another ferret but no one took any notice all they wanted to do is stroke the ferrets in OTL's arms!

When we got home the ferrets were straight into their cage and were asleep in three minutes!

So Holly and I joined them and crashed out on our day beds!

Tomorrow it's Back to Work, so OTL will be working away at the pile of paper on his desk.

Holly and I will be sleeping!

Who said it was a dogs life!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

  1. Well, what light weights you all are. I was up typing on your blog as the bongs struck midnight and you lot were all snoring. The pups had me awake so I thought I'd graphics my chance to write while my mum was doing a double hand shake with dad and singing about an "Old lion sighing" or something like that.
Eric had a lucky escape from that bit of dirt and dealing with all the 2 legs wanting to fuss you must be a pain when you want to hunt for slugs in the undergrowth! The Premium bond man didn't knock here either so hey ho! It's back to work next week here too but not til Tuesday. Dad will be coming home at lunchtimes to give me my extra feeds & check the pups.
Have to go now and feed the babies.
Love, wags, woofs and licks from Izzy xxxxxxxx

  3. Evening little maties down by the seaside with the boring TL's who've never seen a ferret before. Well me and my mum went to bed about the same times as your Mrs TM, then we got woke up by whizz bangs. I was left home alone this morning while my mum went to work but about an hour after she got back home my boy came home and we all went back to bed for a snooze. I'll be home alone again tomorrow for a while cos my mum is at work and my boy has to start work at 6 in the morning that means I'm in charge and I'll be seeing off any intruders. It's rained nearly all day here. I'm pleased that Eric didn't pick up a lodger this morning, my mum has been spraying me with apple cider vinegar, the lodgers don't seem to like the smell of it, I don't like the smell of it either. Poor Wendy and Freddie, I bet they get fed up with TL's keep wanting to stroke them. I can't understand why the TL's don't make a fuss of you and Holly chops, I mean, do they know who YOU are? Sounds like Izzy is very busy with her puppies. The premium bond man hasn't been here either, I wonder if he's gone to Sue and Michaels. Mind, my mum did win a free draw for Wednesdays lottery so you never know, keep your paws crossed (not while you're walking though). Have a lovely evening, stay warm and dry and make sure you get your muggings. Love, licks, wags and sniffs from little Arch and Mr Nipper xxxxxxxx

  4. Now Daisy, I read today that it has rained every day so far this year and it is true!!! The premium bond man didn't call here either but it is a Bank Holiday and so is tomorrow so we may have to wait until Tuesday, is OTL really going to work on a Bank Holiday, poor man. I suppose he needs to make some money to buy a new light fitting for his clothes cupboard, he is lucky as I don't have a light in mine and have to use a torch, everyone say ahhhh! Poor little tired souls you all are, Michael was ill from the new antibiotics that he took Friday morning and was sick from Friday evening until Saturday afternoon so only had two slices of toast and water during the afternoon/evening. We stayed up and toasted in the New Year with dry crackers (I had some Wensleydale and Cranberry Cheese) and small glasses of Tia Maria, we had I suppose dozed away alot of the day. Those ferrets do get all the attention and Eric is trying to get more by picking up prickly bits. Glad those puppies are doing well, even with old lions sighing, they had better watch out. Hope Archie doesn't become addicted to the smell of cider vinegar. Have an appointment with Sherlock Holmes so I must be off, hope you have had a quiet evening with some left over nibbles. Grommit likes Wensleydale cheese, I wonder if you do? Nite nite xxxxxx
