Sunday

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here.

I know it is Bank Holiday this weekend, which means we get to stay in bed on Monday morning just a little later than normal!

Wot I don't understand is why we get so many, all split up and spread around all over the place? I mean, why not put them all together and have a really long Bank Holiday Week!

Old Two Legs was up early, mainly because I stepped on his head and gave his ear a good licking!

Down on the beach we hunted for the Hermit Crab but it seems he has returned to the distant rock pools.

Wendy and Freddy did a good 'Sneaky' and crept up on Holly Chops while she was enjoying the sun.

Freddy got close and said 'BOO'!

Holly said something that sounded like ARGH!!!!!

Then she tried to jump out of her fur!

'BOOOOOOOO!..........ARGGGGGGGGH!
I must admit it was so funny! I was laughing so much that OTL thought I was rolling in the sand!

Oh No! That was Sooooo Funny
Holly had the only reply that seemed to be appropriate.

A Whacking Great Raspberry!

PppThhhhhhhUPPPPPP!
The Missus has recorded the F1 Race today, so we are off to watch that and afterwards OTL is going to have steak and chips. We don't do chips but Holly and I will be helping him with the steak!

See you tomorrow, and remember, the banks are closed tomorrow!

First Sign of Summer!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here again!

OK, paws up all who spotted a typographical error yesterday?

Yep! That's it, Eric instead of Freddy!

Old Two Legs says it was Claw Trouble!

Never mind, Eric and Freddy don't mind, just as long as they get their walks!

Down on the beach we found the whelk shell we saw yesterday. We first checked to see if anyone was inside but we could see nothing. So, OTL picked it up from the rock pool and put it on top of a rock.

Holly and I went up to it for a sniff when we heard it say 'Whelkome to The Rock Pool'!

Whelkome!
Now that was a bit weird, so both Holly and I were off like a rocket, I mean, talking shells!

Freddy was a little braver or stupid and went up to ask why he was still here after the last two high tides.

Well, says the whelk, I'm not really big enough to hump this shell over all the rocks, so I will wait for a while until I get bigger, then I'll be off!

Freddy asked why a big shell is easier to move than a small one. It isn't, says the whelk shell, I'm talking about me!

It was then that Freddy spotted the tiny Hermit Crab inside the shell!

Now it makes sense!
Sorry says Freddy, didn't see you at first! Good says the crab, it also helps when something is after you for dinner!

We left the crab to get on with it and Freddy and Wendy went off to dig a sand pit!

OK, wot about here?
There was a load off woofing coming down the Sea Wall and we spotted a little ball of fluff and nose. It was a stranger to our corner of the world and we kept an eye on it to make sure he stayed away from the ferrets and us!

OK, if it stops at the top of the steps we'll give it a good woofing!
Fortunately, the woofer was on a lead and got dragged up the path before it got to us!

Lunchtime we were down the beach again with May and Eric, they went looking for the whelk shell but couldn't find it, maybe the crab had found a safe place to hide before the tide came in!

On our way back to the car we spotted a Swallow swooping across the grass hill, over all the plants!

I mean, it's the first swallow this year and I know that 'one swallow does not a summer make', but it's a jolly good sign as far as I'm concerned!

Miss May had fun rolling in the sand.

This sand make a good exfoliate material, better than grass!
Eric dug a reasonably good trench then decided to go for a jog up to the rock wall.

Come on, race you all to the top!
We got a bowl full of Lambs Heart today and although it was cold, it still tasted yummy!

TM got back from her crop thingy and actually came back with more stuff than she left with! I mean, she has got so much stuff we didn't think there is any stuff she hasn't got already!

Sunday tomorrow, we may see some more swallows arriving, claws crossed!

Bye bye for now,

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

A busy day and Holly visits the vet again!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret back again!

You know, sometimes you get days that start off looking like it will be a 'Lazy Day' and then something happens and it is 'Full Steam' until bed time!

We had one of those today!

It started last night, OTL spotted that Holly Dogs left eye was leaking some stuff that looked like that 'Conjunctivitis' had come back. She got OTL to bathe her eyes and wash out the muck and then it was off to bed.

Early morning examination showed a bit more 'Sleep' than normal so a telephone call to the vets got an appointment with the locum at two thirty.

That didn't stop us from going out and this morning we headed off to the beach for game with the ferrets.

Wendy and Eric were having fun digging a trench but the couldn't decide in which direction it should go!

Listen Eric Chops, the trench goes This Way!
As normal, Wendy reckons she knows the correct orientation of any trench but Eric really wanted it to go down to the sea side!

So, Eric carried on digging until Wendy got fed up and marched down the trench to give him a good telling off!

Not that it worried Eric, he is always getting told off, it's a ferret thing!

But I like it when it goes down hill!
When we got back home, OTL had some stuff to get out today and that means we have to 'amuse' ourselves until he is finished.

The ferrets had a great time running all over the house while OTL did the 'Poo Shoveling' and Holly and I had a snooze on the bed!

OTL got a delivery of stuff and that also had to be delivered today as well, so that was another job to be jobbed and all before Holly's appointment!

While OTL was delivering, Holly and I stayed in the car to make sure no one tried to pinch any of the stuff in the car!

Serious woofers!

We stopped in to see The Missus who was playing up the village hall. Holly and I had great fun running around the hall 'cos it is all slippery and Holly and I go skidding all over the place!

Great Fun!

We know what is for dinner today, Doggy Scoff, we have seen the tin sitting on top of the kitchen work top.

What we haven't seen is what OTL is having tonight, well OTL and us!

Weekend tomorrow and TM is off to some sort of crop type of cardy thingy!

That means we get to watch the TV, sitting on the sofa enjoying nibbles!

Roll on tomorrow!

Bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

More Splashing About!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!

No snow or hail today and no rain, so that was good! Mind you, it was chilly but warmer than yesterday. Old Two Legs tried to stop me from having a paddle but I managed a quick kick about in the rock pools. I had decided against a swim 'cos it was too cold in the water!

The tide was out and Miss Wendy decided she would go investigating the rock pools again.

Here comes some wet paws!
She managed a splash in the pools but said the water was a mixture of salt and mud!

Of course there were loads of sea shells in the rock pool but today we found a big whelk shell, I mean, normally they have been broken by the waves but this one looked intact!

Nice condition but no one is at home!
That didn't stop Miss Wendy from exploring all around the sea weed. This time she didn't find any Monsters or Nargles or even a little crab!

My paws are wet and now my tummy is soaking as well!
Up on the Sea Wall Holly Chops was watching the whole thing. Now you all know that just like Archie Babe, Holly doesn't do Water, doesn't do Wet and doesn't do Mucky Paws!

Oh! Do me a favour, you just can't get wet like that!
Back home we have all been enjoying a snooze. While OTL has been playing on the computer.

Not sure what is for dinner tonight but we have had some chicken this morning. Maybe that is what Auntie Sue should do, eat your pills then a nice big plate of chicken, all warm and greasy!

That will settle your tum!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

We get Hailed on!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here again!

It is still sunny down here in North Kent. This morning we were out hunting the sniffs in the sun shine.

The plants are really growing high and now we can't see anyone coming until they come around the corner! Of course, Old Two Legs goes into panic mode picking up the ferrets before the woofers arrive!

Of course, Holly is up front and she gives OTL the 'Warning Woof' but it always a bit of a rush!

OK, all clear ahead!
The ferrets are having a great time hunting sniffs in the plants. Eric is the 'Hunter', even more than Freddy.

Freddy loves a sniff but keeps on falling over so that OTL has to pick him up!

This is a Weasel Sniff, I'm sure of it!
Of course, Eric is doing his 'Big Hunter' bit but Miss May just has to stick her nose in and gets all tangled up!

No! Don't pull, my tail is caught!
After a while May gets bored and wanders off, that means Eric can get back to his sniffing again!

I'm sure the Weasel went this way!
We went out for our lunchtime walk and managed to spot a cloud that was dumping a load of snow onto Essex but the snow turned into rain before it hit the ground.

Southend gets wash!
Over in Kent there was a couple of rain clouds but they managed to stay away from us!

That's about Rainham who is getting a wash now!
OTL decided to take us out for another walk 'cos our lunchtime walk was not as long as normal. The rain clouds were still around and as we headed back to the car it started to rain, then little lumps of ice started to fall out of the sky!

OTL had forgotten his hat, so the lumps of ice were bouncing off his bald head!

OTL was not happy!

We got back to the car and all of us piled in to get out of the hail storm!

Now, we thing Archie Babe was a good lad to try to keep those Birdy Babes warm but this time of the year we find the babies in our garden as well and OTL puts them in the compost bin!

I'm off to see what OTL has got for dinner tonight, maybe some more Bambi Burgers!

See you all tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Hair Cut and Shampoo and Wot Snow?

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!

Well, these weather forecasters seem to have got it wrong, this morning was supposed to be frost and snow and blizzards and howling gales.

Even the ferrets were expecting to put their ski's on but what did they find?

OK, where is the snow?
Holly and I were looking around for the snow as well, we studied the sky for snow clouds but all we saw was sun and blue sky's!

Well I was expecting a ski lift!
Straight from our walk we headed off to the Poodle Parlour. I won't bore you with the details but we got washed, sploshed, shaved and snipped (claws). We got the hair drier treatment and even the spray that makes you sniff like a tart!

Jus' look at my 'Boots' !
We went for a walk down to the beach but Old Two Legs wouldn't let me go in swimming! He said that The Missus wanted to see me all 'Tarted Up' without the River Medway dripping from my tail!

Holly Chops had no interest in swimming but she kept on about how good she looked with her neatly trimmed legs!

Get a look at these pins!
Off we headed, back to the car and then off to see TM. Mind you, we still didn't see any snow or snow laden clouds, instead it was all sun shine and flowers and that Cuckoo was still calling out!

Do you think he gets a sore throat with all that Cuckoo'ing!
Back home it was all Ooo'ing and Arrr'ing over just how good we looked and we settled down for a snooze before dinner!

So, what will it be like tomorrow? Today OTL got our warm coats out 'cos he thought it may get cold and we didn't want to catch a chill! We are keeping the coats out, just in case tomorrow the snow finds us!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

We hear a Cuckoo!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here once again!

This morning it was rather warm, especially as the weather man had said we were in for some cold weather and snow and blizzards!

No Snow Here!
I celebrated by going in for a swim!

No Icebergs here!
Freddy was in a good mood and showed us all how to dig a trench by using only his nose!

You just sticks yer nose in the sand and run at it!
 Impressive or wot!

While we were on the beach we could hear a Cuckoo calling out. We looked at all the tree tops and the bushes but just couldn't pick him out anywhere.

I'm sure that in the end Holly fell asleep!

I can't see the Cuck-a-Doodle-Koo!
Back home Old Two Legs had a few orders he had to get out today so we left him to it and went off looking for food!

Young Freddy fell asleep in his Cuddle Cup with Miss Wendy and only woke up when OTL bashed the side of his cage!

OK. Just Who Did That?
We reckon that tonight it will get cold, so we have got our places reserved on OTL's bed tonight and we will make sure The Missus doesn't take up too much room either!

See you tomorrow.

Cuckoo!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

OTL in a Bit of a Pickle!

Hi Woofers!

Welcome back, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here for you!

Happy St Georges Day to you all!

Now, where are the dragons?

We had some fun this morning. First of all Old Two Legs managed to get a photo of Dylan, one of the Two Bob Dogs! It was a bit difficult 'cos he was trying to get the camera out of the bag, put the ferrets in the bag and then get Dylan to stop still long enough to take a picture!

Yo! OTL, Gissa Cuddle!
Of course, Marley was there as well and he was all over OTL like a rash!

Both Wendy and Fred stayed in the bag, just in case the Two Bob Boys wanted a taste of ferret!

After they had left us the ferrets were out of the bag again for a run and a sniff.

Towards the end of the walk, Holly decided she wanted a poo, no problem there, but because we are having to wait another week and a half for the lady wot gives us our hair cut, we are getting a bit 'Hairy' under the tail and some times we end up with a 'Grubby Butt'.

Normally it doesn't worry Holly, she just stays in the same position while OTL unpicks the poo with his hand inside a poo bag and later Holly would get a wipe down with some 'Wet Wipes' back at the car.

Today was a little different 'cos first of all OTL had to gather the ferrets up and put them in the bag. Hurry up says Holly I can't stay like this all day!

OK, says OTL fishing a poo bag out of the ferret bag and inserting his hand.

'Hey! Wot You Doing?' Says Dylan and Marley as they come bounding up to give OTL a lick on his nose! 'I'm getting cramp in my tail' says Holly!

Dylan and Marley charge off to find out where their Two Legs had gone to!

OTL gets over to Holly who has been doing a balancing act on her back legs and begins to unpick the poo.

At the same time, both ferrets spring from the bag and go for a run down the path, until they run out of lead, then they turn around and rush back up the path towards OTL and Holly.

So, with one hand wiping Holly's butt and the other trying to stuff both ferrets back into the bag and both ferrets wanting to get out again to see what OTL was doing to Holly!

I'm sorry, I was laughing my tail off, Holly was not amused and OTL was almost falling over whilst wiping Holly's butt!

It just don't get any better!

Half a pack of Wet Wipes later Holly was pronounced clean enough to get into the car!

Mind you, she still had to have a wash when she got home!

Lunchtime was a little less fraught!

May and Eric spent time digging on the beach, with May producing a super long ditch!

This is how you start!
You know, it was so long that we thought she was going to fall into the rock pools!

Just a few more feet!
Holly and I spent time racing up and down the beach and we even got time to have a roll in the sea weed while OTL was looking after the ferrets!

Move over! Woofer coming through!
Back home we decided to have a Sunday Afternoon Snooze!

Next week we have an appointment with the Poodle Parlour so Holly's problems with a hairy butt will soon be over!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

So much for the Weather Men!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!

We were up early this morning, not that we wanted to be up early, it was The Missus clumping around the house in the early hours, getting stuff out of her store room and loading the car up. Oh, and making twenty cups of coffee to make up for the lack of caffeine yesterday when she went to be stabbed!

Getting up early means we have time to watch the news and the weather forecast. The man who was telling us all about the forth coming weather was going on about being very unlucky if in our area we saw any rain.

We looked out side, it was persisting down!

When we got to the beach it was still very wet!

Not the bright sunny day promised!
We didn't hang about too long, the ferrets were busting to get back into the bag, Holly and I wondered if we could get in the bag with them!

And still it rained!
Back home we got a rub down with a warm towel and settled down to some snoozing until lunch time.

OTL was cleaning the cages out and chasing the ferrets all over the place! Old Two Legs has a good game with them and both Freddy and Eric get rolled over onto their backs and laugh their tails off when OTL tickles their tummy's!

Lunchtime we went out again and this time the rain had stopped! The grass was still wet so both Eric and May got wet tummies running across the grass!

Er! 'm getting a wet tum!
Eric was in a good mood and even went down into the rock pools looking for Monsters!

I think I'll stop for a sniff!
May was a bit ahead of him and stopped for a wee, that messed up his 'Monster Hunting'!

Next he tried climbing up on the rocks and tried to spot the sea weed moving, but that didn't work either!

It's alright looking for Monsters but I still get a soggy butt!
Holly Chops stayed on the beach watching all the fun but had already decided she was not going anywhere near the water!

There is no way I'm going in there!
Miss May decided to give up on the Monsters and followed Holly up to the Sea Wall!

Oi! Wait for me!
All the time I was having a game of 'Chase' with my tail, which is rather a good game, until you catch your tail and fall over!

Hey! I caught my tail! Honest I did!
It was a rush to the Sea Wall and the steps up to the grass path. OTL took the opportunity to get in position to get a picture of Eric as he stuck his head up to see if the way was clear to get onto the pathway!

Is it safe yet?
Back home OTL has been catching up on series called 'The Last Kingdom' which he just loves! Holly and I sat with him on his chair but we both fell asleep!

TM has returned from her day up the village hall, sloshing all the glue and glitter around and gassing her head off!

We stopped at the hall to say hello to Auntie Rosie who just loves the ferrets and gave May and Eric a cuddle!

Holly and I got a stroke as well but we wanted to get home 'cos there was a bowl of chicken waiting for us!

So, claws crossed that we get some good weather tomorrow.

Bye bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Friday 21 April 2017

Wot! No Sun?

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here.

Well, this morning the weather forecaster on the TV said it was going to be a sunny day, the best we have had all week.

What did we get?

Clouds and no sun!

I mean, how on earth is a woofer going to get a sun tan if the clouds cover the sun?

It's OK for Old Two Legs, he gets wind burn but us woofers need a bit of sunshine!

It was the same with the ferrets. Miss Wendy even fluffed up her coat to try to make it a bit warmer!

Well, she had given up trying to climb into OTL's coat where she knew it would be all warm and snugly!

Even my nose is chilly!
Freddy tried to hide in the long grass but the wind found him there and no matter how he tried to get a lift, OTL made him walk!

This is just not fair, I mean, I'm only a little ferret!
Freddy may think he is small but he is in fact bigger than all of the ferrets, including Eric!

In the end Freddy fell over onto his back and refused to move, he claimed he had a severely bruised claw and there was no way he could walk a step further!

That's it, I'm done for now, my claw is almost broken, just look at it!
You know it wasn't any better at lunchtime, the tide was out, the sun was in and Eric decided that he wasn't even going to step onto the wet sea weed on the shore!

Not that I blame him, I mean, even I didn't fancy a paddle in the weed!

No, if there is no warm sun then I'm staying well up the beach!
Just for fun, OTL swapped the lenses over on his camera and instead of a fixed 35mm lens he put on the 28-300mm lens, just to see what it performed like on his little D200 camera.

We reckon it was a little sharper but the ferrets didn't help. You see, the best way to photograph a ferret is to get down to eye level but our ferrets are a bit crafty.

You see, when OTL crouches down to take their picture, they think he is offering them a lift and they come rushing over to OTL expecting to be picked up!

No photo!

So, OTL has to be crafty and try to catch them when they are looking the other way or wondering what is making all that noise, like another woofer!

It doesn't always work but sometimes, just sometimes he is lucky and having a 'Long Lens' makes it a little easier!

Friday today, so that means a lay in tomorrow, well, just long enough for The Missus to wake everyone up 'cos she has a Master Class tomorrow!

OTL reckons to catch up on his TV recordings tomorrow, so it will be nibbles on the sofa, all day!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Hunting Monsters!

Hi Woofers!

It's us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

The good news is, there's no rain!

Yesterday The Missus was supposed to go and supply a blood sample but she had to fast for twelve hours. That was OK, but she forgot and slurped down a cup of coffee which stopped her going. So, today she didn't have a morning coffee, just water, which she hates!

OK, all ready to go and a quick look at the paperwork and guess wot?

The centre is close don Thursdays!

Have another coffee and plan to go down tomorrow!

We don't have that trouble, our vet is open seven days a week 'cos they like taking money!

Down on the beach today the ferrets decided they would go Monster Hunting!

When we got down there it was just before a full sunrise so we had to wait for a while before it became light enough to go hunting!

Here there be Monsters!
We started off with Freddy doing some digging on the beach to entice the Monsters from out of the sea weed!

Just enough to tempt a Monster out to sniff it!
Next, Miss Wendy went in 'Ferreting' about under the rocks and in the rock pools trying to drive the Monsters out.

Now, Monsters are tricky devils 'cos they don't always run away, sometimes they dig into the mud and disappear!

There is one here somewhere, I can sniff it!
Well, in the end Fred and Wendy gave up and headed off to the car and home to a good rampage around the house!

Lunchtime Eric and May went off to do another sweep of the beach and the rock pools.

Something just ran across my paws!
We watched them scurry up and down the beach but there was no sign of any Monsters. Miss May even climbed on top of a rock to get a better  view over the rocks.

OK, I'll have a look up here!
Holly was sniffing up and down the beach and reckons she found a Monster 'cos she had a roll!

Old Two Legs had a look and said that the Monster was in fact a small crab that was dead!

Holly didn't care, she reckon the sniff was gigantic and qualified as a Monster on sniff alone!

We have chicken for dinner tonight and TM has got to fast again which she says she will, after dinner!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.
