First day of Autumn?

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!

We were watching the news this morning and there was a slot for the weather woman who told us all that today is the last day of Summer and tomorrow is the first day of Autumn!

Autumn already? We haven't had our second holiday yet!

Old Two Legs had better get things organised or we will be making sandcastles in the snow!

OTL belongs to a Ferret Forum where he reads all about ferrets and what they get up to. He also has in the past, uploaded pictures of our mob if they were doing anything funny or interesting.

He had to save the picture on a free photo site and link it to the Ferret Forum, well that was the way it happened right up to the moment the 'Free Site' wanted to charge $399 a year to carry on the service!

You can guess what OTL said about that!

So, he has found another 'Free Site' called Flickr where he can do wot he used to do and a picture of Eric in the Cat Litter is now on the Ferret Forum.

While he was in the Flickr site he did a search on ferrets and found two pictures of him and Snowflake down on the Sea Wall!

Fame or wot?

Next he found this one  The Ferret Man

Now it's going to be five bob just to talk to him! Actually, it's not a bad photo!

Enough of this fame bit, any more and we will get The Missus showing off 'cos she reckons she is more famous than OTL!

Down on the beach we met up with Bryn, Polly and Bo.

An early morning sniff, you just can't beat it!
On the way back OTL stopped by the blackberry bushes where the fruit was ripening, yep, Autumn is on it's way!

Fruits of Autumn?
The sky couldn't make up it's ind what it wanted to do, one moment it was sunny and next, clouds!

Looks like Wet Clouds to us!
We said 'Hello' to Mr Corvid who was hunting lunch in the rock pools, even he agreed that the weather was changing.

With a bit of luck it may be a mild Winter.
Back home OTL has been working on the computer as it is the end of the month and he needs to get all the invoices off to his customers.

Next week we have Alun and Glynis visiting for a couple of days. It is normally a great time and OTL always gets 'Giggly' with Alun as they plan their next trip 'Off Season'!

Alun wants to go hunting Sea Eagles while OTL fancies a trip over to the Outer Hebrides to see the stone circles!

One good thing for us, we get a share of the Chinese Take a Way with loads of Plawns and the Plawn Clackers!

This afternoon the rain came down and on OTL's Weather Gissmo, it registered 10.5mm of rain! You know it all fell in a ten minute 'window', there were puddles everywhere!

I'm not sure what is for dinner tonight, knowing our good fortune it will be Doggy Scoff, so that means OTL is in for some serious mugging!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Other houses get moths and flies and mosquitoes but not us!

Hi Woofers!

We're back again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Hey! Guess wot? .........................  It's been raining almost all day today!

Started as we were driving down to the beach, just a few drops of rain but by the time we got there the screen wipers were on all the time!

The ferrets didn't mind the cooler temperature or the drops of rain. In fact it sort of livened them up, especially Eric!

There we were mooching along the beach when a couple of soppy Yorkie Woofers came along the Sea Wall and both were very interested in the ferrets, especially as they were just under the wall!

'Ooh!' Says one of them, 'I could just fancy a ferret for breakfast!' Then he proceeds to stick his nose over the edge of the Sea Wall and looking down at Eric, who was looking straight up at this woofers nose!

OTL gets the camera out and was expecting to get a picture of a ferret looking at a woofer who was looking at a ferret.

Just as he was going to press the shutter release, Eric jumped up, mouth open, teeth exposed to do a maximum puncture bite!

Another centimetre and it would have been a  'Woofers nose for Breakfast!'

Wot the Woof?

OTL very nearly got the 'Shot of the Day' but instead that woofer got to save his nose for another day!

Back home we arrived back, a bit damp and soggy and while Holly and I got a rub down with a Doggy Towel, OTL was taking his boots off.

Out of the corner of his eye he noticed something that normally is not seen in doors.

It was a Dragonfly, resting on the curtain!

Now, just to show you how these Two Legs think. The Missus came running with a net she uses to pick up leaves and stuff from the pond.

OTL rummaged in his ferret bag for the camera!

This is known as a Migrant Hawker!
OTL reckons it had been playing in our pond and had flown indoors when TM left the door open to the garden.

After the first flash from the camera it started to move, we reckon he didn't like bright lights, so we opened the window and off it flew, looking for the pond again!

We have zoomed in and this is what it looks like close up.

The white bit in his eye is OTL's flash on the camera!

OTL said he would have liked to spend some time photographing it but it didn't hang about long enough!

Now that is the first time we have had a dragonfly inside our house, normally its butterflies or moths, still, it makes a change!

Lunchtime it was still raining and we didn't hang about too long and OTL didn't take the camera out 'cos it was too wet!

Holly spent the afternoon sitting by the window and watching the pond area seeing if the dragonfly had come back.

So far, nothing!

That's it for now, with a bit of luck the rain may stop tomorrow and we can go hunting lizards along the Sea Wall again. We have seen three but they move so fast that OTL hasn't managed to get a shot of them yet. He will keep trying, and trying, and trying, and, well you know!

Trying!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Another Warm One!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!

You know what?I reckon this has been a great summer so far, well down here in North Kent anyway!

We have had some super mornings and really hot days!

Like this morning, there we were heading down to the Sea Wall and the beach when we just had to stop and look at the gulls on the water and the colours, brilliant!

Yeah, what a morning!
Young Eric was playing on the beach and digging holes in the sand.

Don't fall in my hole, I worked hard to dig that!
We heard a load of woofing and there, along the beach came Dylan and Marley. They had been stuck indoors for the last two weeks 'cos they had been 'Done'!

They said it was just great to be out and in trouble! Trouble? We wouldn't know anything about that 'cos we are good woofers!

Dylan, Marley and Yappy!
Lunchtime it was warm again and OTL took a chance and let Fred and Wendy to come with us.

They had a wander along the beach but didn't stay down for too long 'cos it was warm and not ideal for jogging along the path.

Mind you, we all stopped when Old Two Legs spotted a Silver Studded Blue having a fight with another butterfly.

We couldn't make out what sort it was but it was around the same size. Holly suggested it might be a female!

Trust her!

Did you know butterflies fight?
By the time we got back to the car both ferrets were feeling the heat so they got a long drink from the water bowl and a soaking under the cold tap when we got back!

Wendy didn't think much of that but Freddy said it was just super!

In no time at all they were both fast asleep!

Holly and I had a snooze as well, waking in time to have a bowl of chicken before mugging OTL for some of his dinner!

It don't get much better!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

A Gas Attack?

Yo Woofers!

We are back again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

We saw on the news that a cloud of stuff drifted in off the sea yesterday down at a place called Burling Gap.

No one was sure where it came from but it didn't sniff right!

Well, after watching that on the TV, we headed off for our morning walk and guess wot?

Is this another gas attack?
Old Two Legs said it was just early morning mist and we had nothing to worry about!

Thank Woof for that, OTL knows everything!

Because it was mist, all the spider webs caught the moist air and it formed little droplets which made it look like jewels!

Wot! No Spider?
Down on the beach we saw what Eric said was a 'Green Nargle' had been washed up. Holly and I inspected it and Holly said it was a blow up beach toy that some Two Legs had lost.

If it moves, 'Bite It!
Eric was not to sure about it being a toy, he thought it might be a Nargle! Ferrets and Nargle don't go well together so Eric stayed up under the Sea Wall!

I don't do Nargles!
Back home the sun soon burnt off the mist and the sun came out!

We had our morning snooze while OTL did his Poo Shovelling and the ferrets did their Rampaging around the house!

Lunchtime the temperature out side was too hot for the ferrets to go out with us, so we left them snoring their tails off while Holly and I headed for the beach to see how many tourists have turned up!

Yep! There they are and noisy as normal!
The best bit is to see what woofers they have with them and also what woofer found the mud before he got put back on the lead!

I was just getting into it!
It's a good job that Holly and I know the rules, only roll in sniffs, that's allowed but stay away from the mud!

If you don't know the rules then you will get into trouble!
We had our roll on the sand which didn't leave any muddy bits, so we were OK!

OTL spotted a Studded Blue in amongst the grass and got this shot.

It's about the size of a one pence piece!
It don't look much like this but when it pens its wings to fly it has blue dusty wings, super!

Back to work for you lot tomorrow, we get to go down to the beach!

Poor OTL has work to do but it shouldn't take too long.

Bye bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

F1 Racing and Holly Chops Wins!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!

Well, this weekend is going well as far as the weather goes, loads of sunshine and a few gentle breezes!

Mind you, it started off being a bit misty and we were unsure of how the day would turn out but being it was warm we reckoned it would get better!

It's a good job the tide is out!
I was thinking about going for a paddle in the mud when we noticed young Barney II charging along the Sea Wall!

Yo! OTL!
As normal, he was all over OTL like a sniff! The one thing about Barney is he is such a jolly little woofer!

He had a cuddle with OTL and we had a sniff and he continued on with his walk!

Holly and I had a sniff along the beach and found a crab that had sadly died!

No Holly, we can't make it into Crab Paste!
Our lunchtime walk was a little earlier 'cos we wanted to see the F1 Racing on the TV.

It was just as well we got out early 'cos the tourists were turning up for a paddle in the mud!

Look! There's the mud over there!
As we had heard it all before, Holly and I went on ahead to find a shady place where we could have a rest until OTL caught us up!

All we need now is a nice cool drink!
We got home in time for the beginning of the race and we all picked a driver to follow!

Holly Chops got first choice and picked on Hamilton, just 'cos he was in pole position. OTL picked om Palmer, mainly 'cos I picked Vettel and The Missus picked Trump.

Now we all thought that was daft but she had been playing on her phone following Twitums or something that was on about Trump visiting Texas!

Some times we worry about her and that phone!

In the end it was Hamilton who won the race and as a prize, Holly got to choose which half of the treat chew she was getting from TM!

A winner or wot?

Next week it's Monza in Italy so we are all looking forward to some more good racing!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

The Queues have started!

Hi Woofers!

It's us again!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

This morning, first thing we spotted a sailing barge out on the estuary but because there was so little wind, it was hardly moving!

It's a pity Old Two Legs didn't have his telephoto lens, we might have got a better shot!

All this with a 35mm lens!
While OTL was watching the barge going nowhere, Miss May was having a great time rolling in a sniff on the beach!

Oooooooooh! This is so good!
While all this was going on, Holly and I headed off the beach to get some sniffs on the path that headed up the hill. We heard a woof and Holly immediately knew it was Bert who really fancies Holly!
Hey! Where's my girl friend?
OTL told him she was on the path and off he went!

Miss May was still rolling around and by now she had her tongue sticking out!

This just can't get any better!
Young Eric was more interested in the gulls on the mud. He reckons that it would be great if he could catch one, put a saddle on it and fly around like Harry Potter!

Are they Hippogriffs and could I fly them?
You know that Eric gets some funny ideas!

Being a holiday weekend, the tourists have turned up and parked themselves on the beach and were making sandcastles and digging holes in the sand!

More tourists!
Now, we don't mind the tourists that turn up in the morning but there have been those tourists who do some 'Wild Camping'! Mind you, we have been told that in the evening loads of youngsters turn up and play music so those wild campers don't get an early night!

A not very happy wild camper!
Hey! We got a message from young Rocky the Parrot! Seems he is settling down in his new home and is having a great time. He sent us an email to say he reads our blog each day and thinks the antics of our ferrets is just the funnest thing he has read in ages!

Well Rocky, you keep reading and if you can send a photo of yourself we will include it in that days blog!

Fame at last!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

The Tourists are here already

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!

Now, we almost forgot but this weekend is Bank Holiday. That is where the Two Legs get in their cars and drive to a local motorway where they sit in their cars for hours on end!

It is also the time when the railways get mended by shutting down the trains so no one can go anywhere over the Bank Holiday! The same thing happens with the aeroplanes and then everyone spends all weekend sitting in the departure lounge waiting for Monday so they can go home!

Down here in North Kent we have got some early tourists getting onto the beach early to reserve their places!

We are lucky to get this spot!
Holly and I decided that we would do some serious posing up on the Sea Wall to see if the tourist  could be intimidated into going away!

I know we look good but they are still not moving!
Old Two Legs went off looking for Nargles but only found a small crab that had got tangled up in the sea weed!

Someone help me 'cos I got my claw stuck!
We had no need to worry 'cos after shaking his claw a couple of times he fell off the rock and landed on his back in the rock pool!

Once on the path OTL went into 'Hunt Mode' looking for butterflies and snakes and lizards!

Well, today we spotted a Small Copper butterfly which looked all fresh and colourful, so we reckon it is a young one!

This is a Small Copper!
A couple of times, OTL has spotted lizards on top of an ant hill and now that he had the camera with him they decided that they would stay hidden under the grass instead of coming out and posing for us!

You can tell when things are getting desperate, OTL starts taking 'Artistic' photos!

Well, if he says it's artistic then who am I to argue, I'm only a woofer!
Back home all the jobs had been done and OTL decided to sit down and watch the latest episode of 'Game of Thrones'.

Just as it finished, The Missus arrived home from her day out with her mates!

Wonder what is for dinner tonight? I know that we have Doggy Scoff 'cos I've had it served up already!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Freddy's Factor 35 is missing!

Hi Ho Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here!

Yet again it has been a warm day, right from first thing this morning!

Just for a change, Miss May decided she wanted to walk along the Sea Wall. Now that was OK, until she came across the sniff of a big woofer and she just had to tell Old Two Legs there might be danger close!

You've got a possible 'Situation' here!
Holly called out that there was a woofer on the horizon and Miss May did what any self respecting ferret would do....................she legged it back to OTL!

One ferret coming into land!
It didn't take her long to get back to OTL, you see these ferrets can really move from a standing start up to 'High Speed' in the swish of a tail!

Almost home!
May was straight up and around OTL's shoulder faster than you could imagine!

Eric was down the bottom of the Sea Wall sniffing a crab sniff he had found.

We looked up and down the Sea Wall but the only woofer we could see was Holly Chops, sitting on the Sea Wall catching a few rays!
You didn't know I could do a big woof?
On the way back to the car, OTL stopped at an ants nest to see if we could spot that lizard he saw the other day. Unfortunately we didn't see it but to be fair, it was only at midday that we have seen it before!

Lunchtime came around before we knew it and as the tide was in I decided to go hunting crabs.

Instead of digging around in the rocks I went straight in and stuck my nose under the waves to see wot I could see.

All I saw was the sand and the mud!

'ere! I can blow bubbles through my nose!
Holly was on the beach catching up on her sun tan and Freddy was stretched out but he was not a happy ferret.

He had lost his Factor 35 Lotion and was trying to get OTL to go back to the car and get it for him!

It's no good, I dare not move unless I've got my lotion on!
You know wot? He even got OTL to carry him some of the way back to the car!

That Freddy can be such a crafty ferret sometimes!

See you all tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

A Ball of a Day!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret here with you again!

We were glad to read that Archie Babe escaped that woofer with a bad attitude!  Mind you, with his Two Legs looking after him he should be OK!

This morning it looked as though it would be a bit cooler with the clouds but when we got down to the beach we found that it was rather warm!

If the tide was in I'd be in for a swim!
As we came off the beach Eric found a foot ball on the Sea Wall! Someone had left it on the beach and Eric had never seen a ball so big!

'ere! It don't squeak!
Eric was having a great time, he was chasing it up the path and then down again and then up again!

Come on, on yer 'ead this time!
It was good to see May join in the game as well! You know she was rather good at dribbling it along the path!

Miss May throwing a dummy!
We had to leave it on the path and hope that it would still be there when we come back at lunchtime.

Well, when we came back with Freddy and Wendy, the ball had gone! Freddy said he didn't mind 'cos it was quite warm and he didn't fancy running around chasing a ball. He decided that catching a few rays is a better idea!

Someone fetch me a cooling drink please!
Typical Freddy Boy! Anything for a relaxing life!

Back home The Missus ran out to the ice cream van that came 'Ding-a-Linging' down our road. She got three super ice cream cones, that is one for her, one for OTL and one for Holly and me!

It was great giving it a good lick and Holly and I got ice cream all over our muzzles!

We both had fun licking it all off!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

Tuesday 22 August 2017

It's alway good to have a ferret helping you!

Yo! Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

Now, you know just how inquisitive a ferret can be?

Did you also know that they can get into loads of trouble by being inquisitive?

Did you know just how helpful a ferret can be when they put their mind to it?

Well, today it was Eric's turn to show how he can help Old Two Legs.

It was breakfast time in our household and Holly and I were finishing off our snooze on the bed while The Missus was downstairs sorting out the washing.

OTL had got his breakfast and some Lactose Free milk for the ferrets. Little Miss May was ferreting around looking for the Ferretone and a couple of bits of chicken treats they have every morning.

OTL was attacking his bowl of Rabbit Food when he heard an unusual noise coming from under the work top.

Looking over the top of his bowl he saw...................................

Eric!
Just what are you doing? Says OTL. As if he couldn't see what Eric was doing!

Just getting out a bit of Cat Litter for our cage!
Then, back goes Eric into the bag and proceeds to dig out even more of the wood chippings all over the place!

Not only was Eric being very helpful but he was having a great time digging in the bag as well!

Hey! It tickles when it falls down onto my tummy!
Miss May was on top of the worktop finishing off the chicken treats and the last lick of Ferretone!

She looked at OTL and said........ 'One Day He'll Grow Up!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.
