It's the Winter Solstice Today!

Hello Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret!

It's the shortest day of the year today, the Winter Solstice, also it will be the longest night!

We don't mind it being the longest night 'cos we get a bit longer in bed!

The ferrets say that their life is governed by the light so they are now looking forward to the summer!

I can see it won't be long before they start moulting and spreading hairs all over the place!

Mind you, at the moment they are all fluffy with their winter coats!

Eric de Ferret in Full Ferret Winter Regalia!
This morning when we went out it was almost summer! Old Two Legs got a bit hot in his jacket and scarf and both May and Eric ran all the way from the beach all the way to the car park!

Normally Eric tries to blag a lift but today he was enjoying the sniffs so much he forgot all about being carried!

Back home the ferrets normally get an hour to rampage around the house causing all sorts of mayhem but today Eric and May had a little play, then crept into the void under the sofa where they have a snooze.

It looks like the walk just wore them out!

Lunchtime we woke Fred and Wendy up to go for a run and although they both said they'd rather stay in bed, they both came along for a run.

Freddy would have rather had a carry but he did get going once he was on the top path!

His last run was across the football field and it was more of a 'waddle' than a run!

Almost there and I've got my Winter Coat on as well!

When we got home there was Auntie Sue and Nunkie Mike chatting with The Missus, well, that was until we came crashing through the door and gave them both a 'Woofers Welcome'!

Then we got a pressie!

Holly and I got super packet of chews and I will admit, I had two before anyone could blink!

Holly, has a bit of a grumbly tum and decided to wait until later tonight or tomorrow morning before having her treat!

It was lovely seeing them again and OTL spent time talking about cameras and lenses and caravans and....well Holly and I fell asleep!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy and Eric de Ferret.

  1. Yo maties. Sounds like you had a really good day today, wot with it being a bit warmer, pressies from Mrs Sue and nunkie Mike and longer to snooze in bed tonight, wot woofer could ask for more? It's been very chilly here today so I've stayed snuggled up with my mum a lot. Sorry to hear that Holly chops has a grumbly tum again but hope she soon gets over it so she can enjoy her chews. My little friend Milly, (Brenda's little woofer) is in the vets today, she was very poorly during the night so she's on a drip and will be staying over night tonight, Brenda is missing her very much and I expect Milly is missing Brenda very much, so paws crossed Milly is much better tomorrow and home in time for Santa Paws. I chased a squirrel out of my garden today, I nearly wore myself out charging up the garden, I almost had it, I could sniff it's tail but it was running along the top of the fence and I was running along the bottom of the fence. I told it to woof off cos it's my garden. Brenda has just rung with an update on Milly, she's looking better and her scans and blood tests have come back fine, she's having a phantom pregnancy which has caused her problems so she should be able to go back home to Brenda tomorrow. Brenda is very relieved. I'm on guard duty in the morning while my mum goes to work so I won't be able to make the most of the longest night, booooo hissssss. Now wots this my mum is telling me about mince pies? Daisy, have you been threatened that if you tell you'll be in the doghouse? Have a lovely evening all, stay warm and snuggly and enjoy any muggings and the extra snooze. Loved the pictures today, Eric and Freddy are looking very handsome. Love, licks, wags and sniffs from little Arch and Mr Nipper xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    1. Pleased to hear that little Milly is on the mend. We were a bit worried at first so thanks for the update. Izzy was really unwell recently with a phantom pregnancy too. Lots of trips to the vets but we got her better in the end. We're glad you sorted out that squirrel, Archie. We only get little red squirrels up here and we mustn't chase those. Xxx

  2. Hello there Daisy and family, it was lovely to see you all today and pleased you liked your pressies. As OTL is on a diet and as the shop had run out of lettuce (there must be loads of TL's on diets) we bought him some very diet conscious things called Thins and TM had shortbread but she has hidden them away! It was so warm today 10 deg when we set off at 10am it crept up to 11 deg and was 10 again when we reached home. TM made some lovely sandwiches, delectable mince pies and very tasty dehydrated apple and we had a good natter, Archie seems to be in the wrong place for the weather, nice to see the ferrets enjoying themselves. I hope Blogger doesn't play up this evening and let's me publish have a lovely, lovely Friday and hope Holly gets ride of that grumble. xxxxxx

  3. A big hello to you all. Mum is finally feeling well enough to help me type tonight and it looks like we will be heading south for christmas...yes all 6 of us woofers plus the two 2 legs. What a shame that you are heading north otherwise we could have had a reunion. Now what is this that my mum told me about you trying out TM's home made mince pies. She said that she threw them away and you sniffed them in the bin. There was no mention of that when your guests came to visit. Was it the mince pies that gave Holly the grumbly tum? You were very lucky to get chews. That Mrs Sue and Nuncle Mike sound very kind. I wonder if they ever visit The Norf with doggy chews? I'm glad that you are having such warm weather. It's been warm up here today but it might rain for christmas so we are glad to be coming south. We will get to meet a mini 2-leg called Cerys. She is mum's granddaughter and when they talk on Sypovision, Cerys always says, "Hello Nanny, where's doggy Tommy?" And mum has to carry the phone all around the house until Cerys has seen every single one of us, including Molly de Cat who gives a very loud Purr when she is on Skypovision. I think it's going to be easy muggings of roast turkey on christmas day when there's a mini 2-leg around. Love, licks, woofs and sniffs from Izzy and the gang. Xxxxxx Ps. Mum was finally well enough to post a card to you today...watch out for a brown envelope as it has something tasty in it for you...but you must put it under your tree and maybe let TM take the card out first
