Guess who has arrived?

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy de Ferret and Eric de Ferret!

Yes, it has happened, Miss May has come back with a boy friend!

You see we sent Old Two Legs and May off with the 'Holiday Cage' all clean and disinfected and with clean bedding and water and some nibbles.

Miss May travelled in the travelling cage she uses when she goes out for her morning walk or a trip to the vet!

At the Harrietsham Ferret Rescue she was introduced to Buddy, a two year old Hobblet but it just didn't go well with the introductions. Miss May attacked him and bit him on the nose!

Now that was just not on. We know May can be a bit feisty but all out warfare was not on!

It was then suggested that we try a younger Hob.

There was a cage with four ferrets in that had started off with twelve! They had been bred by a young Two Legs who thought he could make some money selling the Kits but no one wanted to buy them and they ended up at the Rescue for Roy and Chris to find them new homes.

So, this young, six month old Pastel Hob was put in the same cage as May. He is a 'Full Hob', that is he hasn't been castrated yet 'cos his testicles haven't dropped yet!

She sniffed, he sniffed and then she attacked him but he didn't run away, he stood his ground and went for her!

That set Miss May back on her tail!

Now there was a lot of chasing around the cage, in and out of the bedding and a plastic tube. May was a bit put out that this youngster was giving as good as he got!

There was a bit of squeaking and hissing and chasing and running but it all slowed down. OTL went off to have a cup of tea and a chat with Roy and Chris.

After about thirty minutes they went to see what had occurred. Both ferrets were eyeing each other and were keeping apart in their own little space.

Next OTL got the 'Holiday Cage' and both ferrets were put in and a bowl of Ferretone introduced. They both were slurping away while standing next to each other!

A good sign!

OTL kept an eye on them for a while and decided that they would both be fine after week or tow, just like Fred and Wendy who now are always cuddled up together when they have a snooze!

So, at the time of writing, Eric is curled up under a blanket while May is snoozing in the hammock.

Eric has had a poo and a wee down on the bottom floor of the cage, correct level but wrong side of the cage!

He'll learn!

When he gets a bit older he will need to be castrated which will help his temperament and make him into a big soft cuddle machine like wot Freddy is!

OTL passed on the donation from Rose and Rosie and Roy and Chris say thank you very much.

While he was there OTL got to see Rufus!

He is doing very well, the large lump he had was a cyst which was removed by the vet and now he is slowly building up the muscles in his back legs.

OTL had a cuddle with Rufus and he wanted to say a big 'Thank You' to the Allhallows Croppers who enabled the Rescue Centre to fund his treatment. Rufus has a girl friend and the pair are to be found cuddled up together every night!

So, that is about it really, Eric will get his Distemper injection next week and after a while will be allowed out on the lead for a walk with May and us woofers!

OTL has promised to get some photos of Eric over the next few day so you can see what a beautiful lad he is!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss May, Miss Wendy, Freddy de Ferret and Eric de Ferret!

  1. Evening little maties and welcome new matie Exotic Eric. Well it must be really exciting at yours tonight, a new member in Godwin Towers. Paws crossed that it won't be long before Miss May stops answering back and lets Eric have a snuggle with her. Poor Buddy, I do hope his nose isn't too sore and that he soon gets over his date with Miss May. As for young Eric, if I was him I'd make sure me crown jewels stayed where they are cos it's no fun having to loose them. We were all very pleased to hear that Rufus has a friend to snuggle with and hope they find a home with someone who will love them very much, soon. I bet Eric can't believe his luck, a new woman, a new home and new friends. We'll all be looking forward to seeing pictures of him. We've had a very quiet day today, my boy isn't feeling very well, most unlike him but my mum and I are taking care of him. Hope you all have a lovely evening with plenty of muggings and hope that Eric has the upper paw with Miss feisty pants. Love, licks, wags and sniffs from little Arch and Mr (how much longer do I have to put up with the sniff of that woofer) Nipper xxxxxxxx

  2. Welcome Eric. We look forward to seeing your photos and hearing all about your adventures with your new family. Well done for being brave and standing up to Miss May. Our visitors went home today, Danielle, Indy and our special friend, Rizzo. We are pleased to her that they have arrived safely back in Kent. We loved having them up here. They dragged mum halfway up a mountain yesterday. Poor Danielle can't go to TM'S November masterclasses now because she took time off to come and see us so has to work. Poor Danielle! Lots of love, wags, woofs, sniffs and licks from Izzy xxxxxxxx

  4. Well hello and welcome to Eric, certainly landed on all four feet there as you will soon find out. Learn how to treat a feisty woman, show her your mean streak and you will be away. Glad to hear Rufus is doing well and I hope that he and his cuddle soon find a new forever home together. Come on OTL fire up that camera and get some pictures for Daisy to post otherwise ask TM because she posts some super pictures of her cards so it can't be too difficult for a photographer to get a couple of young ferret images through the lens. Hope your evening went well, we have been in Walmer with kites, lights and ghosties for Children in Need, problem was No Wind, still a nice trickle of people came to see the lights and static kites adorned with lights and we raise some money for the children. xxxxx
