It's a Three Walk Day!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again.

We have been very busy today, loads of watching the Olympics on the TV and trying to convince Holly to have a swim in the pond!

I did suggest that as she is not too keen on swimming, she could try diving into the pond from the rocks on the side of the pond!

I won't tell you what Holly said 'cos it was rude!

We went down The Sea Wall  and met up with Mrs Corvid, she said she was keeping an eye out for a nice juicy whelk for breakfast. We said we would keep our eyes open and let her know if we see one, we didn't find a whelk but we did find some fox poo but Old Two Legs stopped us before we could have a roll, spoil sport!

Looking for a Whelky Breakfast!
We did find some fishermen and before Holly could say anything, both fishermen said 'No We Haven't!'

Seems they remember Holly from the last time!

No We Haven't!
We wandered off to the next set of rods but in the bucket there were only worms, not bad to roll over but they don't taste nice!

Just Worms!
At lunch time there were a couple of little Terriers we had met before, one was called Poppy but we were not sure what the other one was called 'cos every time we asked what her name was all she did was bark!

Both of them were all over OTL and Poppy gave him a lick on the nose as well!

Poppy!
So, as a special treat, OTL took their pictures!

Noisy Woofer!
After that OTL was off chasing insects and flowers. Flowers are OK but the insects kept of flying away every time he got close!

A Seed Pod!
The only insect to sit still was this Common Wasp, but the plant kept of waving about in the wind!

Common Wasp
For those interested in the boring stuff OTL seems mostly to use a Nikon D200 camera and his favourite lens for our walks is a 24-300mm zoom lens. The setting is either Cloudy (mostly) or Sunny (Rarely) or Shadow (When we are in the woods). The mode is always Aperture Mode and the aperture is always on f5.4, unless it is very sunny.

The lens has a VR setting to help prevent anti vibration and it has manual over ride on focusing for when he is in amongst the trees!

The ISO is always set at 200!

OK, that is the boring stuff, OTL has got some other super duper Nikon camera bodies and lenses but he says that although he is an 'Equipment Junky', you can take super pictures with just a simple 'Point & Shoot' camera.

Hang on, I've got to wake Holly up, she has just fallen asleep while I was typing that lot!

As we will be going on holiday soon, OTL's customers have been 'stocking up' on stuff they will need. That means OTL is having to do two weeks work this week plus what he normally does!

So, we were off down the carrier again this afternoon and then delivered some stuff close to the Riverside Park, so you know where we ended up!

OTL brought both balls for a kick and a chase, we didn't stay too long but it was still good to have a run in the field looking for different sniffs!

Home to mug OTL for some dinner and then curl up for a snooze before bed!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

What happened to Monday?

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here.

Well, as you can see, we have got forgotten today. Old Two Legs has been in 'Meetings' all day today, getting things 'Sorted' before our holiday. He likes to get all the paperwork sorted, bills paid and the Tax Return sent off. All this so he can go on holiday with a 'Clear Conscience!'

Yeah, that's what we said as well!

We had a run down at the Riverside Park but OTL didn't take his camera with him 'cos he forgot! He was too busy talking to his Accountant to remember the camera, in fact, we consider ourselves lucky he remembered us!

The Missus took us out first thing this morning, across The Farm fields, a few new sniffs to report but nothing too exciting!

We got back to some Lambs Heart, but you know, it was just too hot to eat it, so we'll save it for tonight!

After the Riverside Park walk we headed up to one of our favourite shops. OTL calls it Pets R Us but that's not it's real name!

The sniffs in there are terrific, there's all the 'Nibbles' like Pigs Ear and BBQ Sausage and Chicken Fillets and Raw Hide Chews and Biscuits by the ton and in so many flavours we couldn't count them all!

We passed the enclosure where they keep all the Rabbits and Guinea Pigs and Gerbils and hairy stuff like that. Holly walked past saying 'I'll have one of those roasted followed by two of them boiled into a stew and two of those to follow, cooked crispy and with some black pepper dusted over the ends.

She sure does know about cooking!

We came out with a load of stuff, most of it would be treats when we are on holiday but OTL did open up one pack of BBQ sausage and Holly and I took turns in biting off a bit while OTL held it for us.

How he didn't loose his fingers I'll never know 'cos Holly and I don't have any table manners where a BBQ Sausage is concerned!

OTL also purchased a 'Dog Whistle', yeah, he thinks he is going to train us to Come Bye and all that stuff? No chance!

He did blow it a couple of times at home, sounded like a steam engine under full pressure!'

Holly and I ran around barking  'cos we thought it was a monster got into the house without us seeing!

Finally we found OTL upstairs with this whistle, so we mugged him for a nibble of his biscuit before falling asleep on his bed!

So, sorry about the lack of pictures, we will try to make it up to you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Holly has an Idea!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with you.

It has been a mixed day today, first of all it was sunny.

Got Any Food?
A super walk alone The Sea Front, the tide was right in, the fishermen were fishing and there were Two Legs walking along beside the sea.

The gulls were all waiting for the tide to go out so they could get their breakfast, some of them looked grumpy 'cos they had to wait!

When does the cafe open?
I took a look at the water and decided it was just right for a paddle and dipped my claw into the sea!

Then I dipped my whole leg in and then my tummy and finally I wet my tail!

Old Two Legs had brought a ball with him, so, we played a game of 'Fetch the Ball' which was OK until he through it too far into the water and I lost my confidence and we had to watch it float away on the tide!

Bye Bye Ball!
Well, that was it, no more swimming and not more ball chasing, so off we went to see what else we could play with!

Holly found a couple of Super Sniffs but OTL wouldn't let her roll in them!

We said 'Hello' to Mrs Corvid who was sitting on the railings dreaming of a big juicy Whelk!

I just fancy a Big Juicy Whelk!
OTL found a Butterfly called a Gatekeeper, we asked which gate he looked after but OTL didn't know, which makes a change 'cos OTL normally knows Everything!

Gatekeeper
We got fed up with chasing butterflies and started to search the undergrowth for rabbits, we heard a funny noise, a sort of 'scrabbling' sound. Well, we stood there trying to work out what it was!

Wottsatt?
All of a sudden Barney jumped out of the grass in front of us 'Gottcha Girlies'!

Gottcha!
That was it, we had a run and chase about with Barney before he got called away to continue his walk!

While I was sniffin after more rabbits, Holly sat down and said 'I have an Idea'

I've got an Idea!
You know the Olympics are on at the moment, well, I've got a brilliant idea for a really fun race.

OK, I said, I'm all ears!

Holly then explained her idea but as I pointed out, it was just a relay race like wot they have already. Holly said that our race would be different, instead of a wooden baton that would be passed from one runner to the next, we would have a Carrot that would be passed at each change over!

Just imagine, a team of dogs running around the track passing the carrot. I said that was fraught with danger 'cos not every would be happy giving away a juicy carrot. Can you imagine it, first dog runs to the change over place and sits down for a chew on the carrot, the second dog tries to pick up the carrot but gets warned off by the first dog. Then while the first dog is chewing on the tip of the carrot that he has broken off, the second dog grabs the carrot and runs off, trouble is, he has run off to the centre of the grass in the middle of the running track and quickly buries it for safe keeping!

Hmmmm, says Holly, I suppose you have a point, lets go home and eat our carrots and think again!

Bye bye for now, see you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Saturday and OTL has been working!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here.

It has been a very lazy day today, well for Holly and me it has! Old Two Legs took us out first thing this morning and do you know, we didn't see anyone!

Well no one alive that is!

Holly found a dead rodent of some description and had a good roll on it until OTL came and chased her away!

Then on The Sea Wall there was a dead crab. We could tell it was dead 'cos it had lost one of its big claws and it smelt a bit off!

Crab with a headache!
As there was no one about Holly and I had a practise of our 100m Sprint, I won of course but Holly is getting faster with all the training she has been doing!

!00m Sprint.
Talking of the Olympics, did you see the opening last night? We did, it was brilliant, well most of it was. We thought it great that The Queen got into the run up, super, it shows she has a sense of humour!

That Olympic torch was just amazing, I mean, the shot from the centre looking up to the sky was a super picture!

It took a bit to get into what the story was about but once we knew what was going on we could follow it. Mr Bean was good, very funny and even The Missus was laughing.

We thought it was a great twist on the lighting of The Flame, famous sports people giving the torches to 'Unknown' young athletes to light the flame. That is the theme of the games, The Future!

You can tell that 'cos some of the expected medal winners have blown out.

We lost out on the road race cycling and that multi medal winning man from U.S.A. both go home without a medal today!

We're off now to watch some more.

By the way, OTL has spent all day, from ten thirty until five thirty, cleaning both cars and the caravan, poor OTL, he forgot to put his hat on and now has a red head, in fact, he looks like he has a head sized pimple on his shoulders!

That will teach him!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Olympics and F1

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here!

What a day! F1 practise this morning, chicken for breakfast and the Olympic flame sailing up the Thames on a Royal Barge thingy!

First thing it was a bit misty and wet but no rain and there was no wind either! You could tell that by the sea lapping on the shore!

Come on, Breakfast Time!
The Gulls were sitting on the breakwater waiting for the water to go back so they can get breakfast!

Mr & Mrs Corvid were out searching for some breakfast as well, Holly said they were looking for whelks!

Seen and Whelks?
Old Two Legs spotted a spider that was hanging onto a plant

It was chilly last night!
There was a Hover Fly sitting on a bloom waiting for its wings to warm up!

Getting Warmer!
We were looking for Dragonflies for OTL but as hard as well looked, we didn't find any.

There was one of those Thistle plants that was falling apart or as OTL said, spreading it's seeds, but it was covered with dew or rain and looked like it was covered in diamonds.

Dew Diamonds!
Back home for breakfast and watch the F1 practise then switch over to watch the build up to the Olympics opening show!

OTL had to almost drag us out for our midday walk, that was because it looked like rain!

When we got down to The Sea Wall we had the best laugh we have had for ages! The tide was out, right out, in fact we couldn't even see the waters edge.

Being the summer holiday time, there is always a family or two on the beach, splashing in the water but as it was low tide, no water, so, little boys will be little boys, so the decided to have a paddle in the mud!

Tides Out!
OTL couldn't stop laughing but the two mothers sitting on the beach were gassing away and ignoring the mud bath. Even when Holly told them, they just carried on gassing!

Have you seen your children?
Holly said that if we did that OTL would go potty!

OTL was off photographing butterflies and he found this one.

Six Spot Burnet.
Then he found another one on another plant!

Another Six-Spot Burnet!
OTL pointed out a Grass Hopper to me as I had never seen one before! I tried jumping on it but it sort of 'disappeared' in a flash!

Grass Hopper called 'Flash'!
I called out to Holly to come and look, but she was sitting down looking at the birds flying by! She said 'Yeh! I've seen them before' but I'm sure she hasn't 'cos she has never mentioned them before!

Yeah, Yeah!
Back home to catch up on the snoozing and get settled ready for the Olympics!

Tomorrow, OTL plans to wash the cars and caravan, now that should be fun, sitting inside the caravan while he sloshes around with the bucket and hose pipe!

I bet he gets soaked, he always does!

See you tomorrow!

Daisy & Holly

Red Card for Daisy!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again!

What good news! The GB Ladies won last night at the football, Super Stuff!

Holly and I were all excited on hearing the news this morning!

We decided that on our walk along The Sea Wall, we would pretend to play a game of football and I would be the Ladies Football Team.

Holly said that she was going to be the New Zealand Team 'cos they all have a Kiwi as a pet and Kiwi's taste like chicken!

Well we got down to the beach and Old Two Legs was mooching along and tripped over a football! I mean, a real working blown up full sized football!

That was it, we were off like a shot with our game!

I spent some time dribbling the ball along the path and then Holly got the ball and started to dribble all over it!

She got a warning from OTL about that 'cos it was 'Unsportsmanlike'!

Ref! She has been dribbling on the ball!
OTL told her off for doing that and she stuck her tongue out at him when his back was turned!

Daisy Bites Yer Legs!
I must admit, I got a little excited running around chasing the ball that I got this irrisistable urge to bite it, so I did!

That was it, OTL said I had got a  Yellow Card!

OTL said that was against the rules and he showed me a finger that he said was a Yellow Card! Any more of that behaviour and I would get the Red Card and get sent off!

As he didn't have any cards with him he said he would get The Missus to make up some when he got back home.

Knowing TM, it will have Glitter and Pan Pastels and pretend Diamonds stuck all over them!

Hey Ref! She just tripped me up!

It was a hard fought game with some very dodgy passes and I was caught Off Side!

Daisy is Off Side!
OTL caught me being Off Side and awarded Holly a Free Kick, but she said she didn't want it 'cos she had found a good sniff and was happy with that for the moment!

We had a break and OTL went off to photograph a weed type of plant with very pretty flowers!

Pretty!
Back home we crashed out in our beds, this football lark is hard work!

OTL was very busy working away at his desk, so Holly and I decided he needed a break, so we bullied him into taking us out a bit earlier than normal at lunchtime!

The car park was full of cars and the beach was full of families with children messing about trying to build castles with the stones!

Holly and I spotted one family who were about to have some lunch, so Holly, ever the robber, stood over the top of them and said........................Got any Spare?

No success, they only laughed at us both!

Back home, and OTL went into Production Mode, making some stuff that had to be out today, so that means we may get another walk and we did!

We ended down at the Riverside Park, loads of sniffs and I even found one worthy of a roll!

Holly was keeping an eye open for OTL but he spotted me before Holly could give the warning!

OTL's Gonna be Cross with You!
We found a family sitting by the side of the mud waiting for the water to come in. Holly said that she could sniff sandwiches and wandered over to ask if they had any spare,  but they didn't, so we went hungry!

Got any spare sandwiches?
Back home for a snooze before 'Mugging Time' (Dinner Time for OTL!)

Olympics tomorrow! So you know where we will be all day!

Bye bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Too Hot To Train!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here!

It's been another hot day today, first thing this morning we were walking along The Sea Wall trying to decide which sport we should practise this morning when we met up with Dave, a Westie who just loves a scamper about. He doesn't do the serious running like wot we do, so we have to be gentle with him!

Hello Dave! Wanna Scamper?
By the time we had finished it was too late to do any training so we spent the morning sleeping in the sun, in our beds, on Old Two Leg's bed, on the sofa, under the table and at the top of the stairs, well we get bored with just one snoozing spot!

Lunch time came and we mugged OTL for a nibble then we set off to do some deliveries and take stuff to the carriers, then................................The New Park!

Come on, the waters this way!
Guess where I was heading off to!

Yep! straight into the Swimming Hole!

There was my mate Arthur there already, he was having a splash about chasing his tennis ball. I managed to push my ball out too far so he said he would get it for me, trouble was, he tried to show off and get both balls at the same time!

Well done Arthur!
In the end he came back with mine first, good old Arthur!

We went for a run around to get dry, well I had a run and Holly just ambled along, she said it was too hot to run!

We got to the Teepee and decided to have a rest.

A place in the shade!
Holly told OTL that the swimming hole was fun but we had too much hair for this weather and it was making us too hot to run!

It's just too hot out there!
I had to agree with her, so, no more running, just a slow walk back to the car for a drink!

Yeh, too hot for me as well!
We passed some rooks up in the tree and they were calling out to us to 'Roll Over and Die'!

Holly shouted back that they would get into trouble if they kept on like that.

Then one explained that they were playing at being Vultures and were on the look out for lions who had finished with an antelope!

Pretend Vultures.
Holly said that they should find a better game to play as people would get the wrong impression of rooks!

Back home to a snooze in the shade until OTL gets dinner, then we will mug him for a nibble!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Training Hard for The Olympics!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again!

Another 'Super Hot' day today. We have been lazing by the pond this morning watching the insect life come and go.

We have seen a pair of Red Darters, a Four Spot Chaser, two Damsel Flies and loads of other small buzzing things. The birds have been coming down for a drink and a quick wash and brush up!

Old Two Legs took us down The Sea Wall again and we were practising our running along the beach.

We started off with the 100m Hurdle Race and we used the breakwater as hurdles, it was jolly hard work running in all that sea weed and mud!

Neck and Neck over the last Hurdle!
As you can see, we were neck and neck for most of the race but I just managed to get ahead at the last few metres and come in first!

Over the Line!

Of course, after the finish I just had to do a Lap of Honour!

Daisy 'The Bolt' wins again!
The next training session was the 200m Dash, which I won, paws down, 'cos Holly was a bit puffed out from the hurdle race!

Easy! Easy! Easy!
OTL was playing with his camera and managed to get a picture of a Four Spot Chaser!

Four Spot Chaser.
Holly said that at the speed they fly around, they should be in a race. OTL said that they were racing all the time, to catch bugs to eat!

I Spy With My Thousand Eyes...........Dinner!
When we got back home, guess who had to have a bath to get rid of the mud?

Just a little Grubby!
I was happy to leave it to dry and then have a roll around to get it all off my fur, trouble was, OTL didn't see it like that!

Early to bed tonight 'cos we're hoping to get to see the Highland Cattle tomorrow!

Bye bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Sunny Monday and more Hairy's

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again!

Phew! What a hot day today! Even first thing this morning it was hot as we took our morning stroll along The Sea Wall!

Holly and I were discussing the Olympics and what we would enter and what medal we would win!

As we passed Mrs Corvid she said she could do the High Diving but would not go into the water. Can you imagine, Triple Twist with Double Loop and Pancake Landing with Vertical Swoop Upwards?

Mrs Corvid said it was simple to do, providing you keep your feathers clean!

Gold Medal for Mrs Corvid!
Holly said that as we didn't have feathers we had better leave that to Mrs Corvid!

We did decide that we could do the Two Runner Sniff Relay Race, so to make sure we were in top condition, we had a practise along the Wall!

The Sniff Relay!
I first pick up a Sniff, then race along to Holly and tell her what Sniff it is, then she races around the track and picks up a new Sniff on the way and passes it onto me and I run across the winning line!

Easy!

Holly suggested she could enter the Drain Jumping race, then she proceeded to show of with her paw moves as she approached and jumped the drain.

Holly's Winning Drain Jump!
We thought of several other races we could win but Old Two Legs said that we mustn't be greedy!

This afternoon we went down to The Forest again and we saw the Highland Cattle again. This time I got all big and brave and went close to one and said 'Hello'.

She looked down at me and slowly said 'Hellooo' back!

Hellooo Doggy!
Then we were off squirrel hunting. OTL saw one but it was doing the Fast Exit Trick and he only got a picture of it's Tail as it disappeared into the leaves!

Squirrel doing a Quick Exit!
As we were leaving, one of the Highland Cows walked across the path and stopped to look at us. We were a bit scared but OTL just carried on walking towards the cow and she slowly moved to one side and let us pass.

Hellooo Again!
Bye bye she said, 'Haste Ye Back'!

So that was it, Holly said she was going to come back and have a good chat with them next time!

Off to dinner now, we know an OTL that needs to be mugged for some of his dinner!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly (With her Tummy feeling much better now!)
