A sad, sad day.

 Hello Woofers,

Daisy and Eric de Ferret here.

Miss Wendy has not been very well for three weeks or so. When she walked she sometimes fell over to one. Side out walked along bouncing off the skirting board. Mind you, that didn’t stop her winding me up as she passed the bedroom door by calling me to ‘Come and play Chase’!

This weekend past she hasn’t got out of bed, preferring to cuddle up under a blanket and just watch the world go by.

This morning first thing Old Two Legs phoned for an appointment with the vet and was told to turn up at three fifteen.

After dropping the computer into the shop for repair it was back home so I could got for a walk down on the sea wall.

Wendy was still in bed, sleeping in her cuddle cup. OTL pulled the cuddle cup out and gently stroked Wendy’s neck which she always liked.

After lunch OTL was going to get ready to take Wendy to the vet but when OTL looked into the cuddle cup, she had passed away.

She was the eldest ferret we have had, OTL reckons she was a few days short of eight years, which is a good age for a ferret!

Wendy was a little old lady who didn’t mind mixing it with Eric when he wanted to play and she gave as good as she got, even if she was more than half the size of Eric!

Little Wendy was well up to Eric’s tricks and would attack Eric and scream her tail off making us all think it was Eric attacking her but it was the other way around, she was screaming and at the same time attacking Eric!

A gentle little ferret who never used her teeth on OTL and loved a cuddle with him before going to bed.

She has gone to the urn in the garden to be with all the other ferrets and Miss Holly.

Bye Bye Miss Wendy, we will miss you but look forward to seeing you again at the Rainbow Bridge.

Luv,

Daisy and Eric de Ferret.
