Hello Woofers!
Daisy here and so is Old Two Legs!
You know the last time I saw him was when he was packing to go away. I was snoozing on top of his shirts so he couldn't pack them!
After a while I got thrown off so I went and hid his socks under the bed but he only got some more!
Well, off he went and I had a little snivel as I watched him drive off in the big car!
He left me so he could go off with cousin Alun to see the National Memorial Arboretum up near Litchfield.
Now this place has over 400 memorials dedicated to both military and civilian organisations. OTL and Alun spent two days wandering around and you know, dogs are allowed to go in but have to be on leads, plus you have to have a pack of poo bags as well!
So, I could have gone with them!
There was a memorial to the Veterinary Corps, and one to the horses as well.
In the chapel there was a cross on the table that when eleven arrived, a shaft of sunlight shone down and illuminated a cross, every day of the year.
The whole Arboretum just oozed symbolism.
This is the Armed Forces Memorial which has the name of every British soldier killed in action.
There was a memorial for all those who were 'Shot at Dawn', the youngest was seventeen years old, he shouldn't have been in the army!
A very moving talk given by one of the staff with posts in the back ground for every soldier who was given reprieve a few years ago.
We found a bit of the Burma railway track that was brought back from Burma, strange that it was made in England, shipped to Burma and used on the railway.
From the Burma Railway.
There were memorials to Kenya Police, UDR, Singapore
Police, The Gurkha Regiment and so many more..
Alun asked to be photographed at his regiment’s memorial.
So, after two days tramping around the arboretum OTL finally arrived back home and I must admit, he got the biggest licking he has ever had, day and night!
Tomorrow it's all back to work again!
Bye for now.
Luv,
Daisy
