Quaggy Sunday!

 Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here!

Well didn't it rain last night, I mean, even Old Two Legs was woken up by the rain pounding on the window!

I know that some wind was expected and 'the chance' of a drop of rain but not as much as that!

When we went out for the morning walk it was more of a morning paddle! The fields were flooded and quaggy with muddy puddles.

Mind you, by the time we went out the rain had stopped and there were just black clouds passing overhead.

It was at lunchtime that the sun came out and the sky was all blue. It was still very quaggy and we were slipping all over the place but at least it wasn't raining!

We spotted Barney out with his gun dogs, keeping them all interested in a ball he was throwing and allowing just one of the woofers to go at a time to retrieve the ball.

Woofers trying to be good woofers!

Barney was trying to get them to listen to his commands but only using his paws, that comes in handy 'cos Trevor, the big woofer is deaf, so paw signals are OK but only when Trevor looks back at Barney!

Now, it may interest you to know that eight years ago today that we found a little white ferret poking her nose out from under the shed. Yes, Miss Snowflake came into our life, together with seventy-four ticks!

She stayed in the shower for a few days while we tried to find her owner but it was a month later that we found out it was Barney who had lost her.

By the time we found Barney Miss Snowflake had been relieved of all the ticks, got the vet to give her distemper jab and had on order a fine two-level cage.

Barney came around to see her and said that as we had looked after her and grown very fond of her, she could stay with us!

Hello, my name is Holly, do you taste nice?

It took some time for Snowflake to settle down and stop trying to eat OTL! She had been a 'Working' ferret, which means she was rough, tough and good at hunting rabbits and it took just over six months before she settled down to living with us!

I do like a nice chewy finger after getting up!

Holly and I have had a look under the shed but there are no more ferrets !

See you all tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.
