The Snow Fairy Passed This Way!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here again.

We had a shock this morning, it was Snowing!

Well a sort of powdery snow that melted almost as quickly as it settled, but there was some piling up on the grass on our way to the Sea Wall!

We got down there and after our business we were trotting along in our warm coats checking out the sniffs, when all of a sudden there was a loud YAHOOOOO! and a streak of hair and teeth went flying past us at the speed of light, it was Barney!

YAHOOOO Girls........it's MEEEEE!
He was super fast today, we didn't even hear him coming, he went flying past us and tripped over his legs and went flying!

WHEEEEEEEOOOPS!
All he could say as he went tumbling was WHEEEEE and OOOPS!

He really is a bit of a daft dog, you'd think he was never let out of the house the way he carries on!

We heard his owner calling him and just as quickly as he arrived, he was off again up the hill!

Byeeee Girls!
We were exhausted just watching him run about. He could get up to some super fast speed if he put his mind to it!

Back home it was a snooze after breakfast and a cuddle with Holly in the day bed. When I woke up I rolled onto my back and called out for Old Two Legs to tickle my tummy, which he did 'cos he is a big softy!

Tickle my Tummy OTL!
After that it was a game of 'Chews', that is, first, I have a go at the Rawhide Chew, then Holly has a chew followed by another chew for me and then back to Holly!

Gerroffamechewsister!
It normally ends in a fight 'cos we can't always keep a check on who's turn it is with the chew!

This afternoon we were down the Riverside Park, a bit chilly but we met an old dog who told us where there were some secret sniffs that she had found.

Down there, on the left, just past the poo bin and behind the tree!
We promised not to tell anyone else and not to sniff too much and wear it out. It was a good sniff but I have sniffed better down on the Sea Wall, but I suppose there are too many dogs here, so the sniffs get worn out quickly!

We're having lambs hearts tonight, so Holly and I are sticking close to The Missus 'cos she is the one doing the cooking!

We hope the snow fairy comes tonight 'cos if she does, that means there will be loads of snow in the morning and Holly and I can go running through the snow and end up looking like big snowballs!

Bye bye for now.

A Chilly Day

Hi Ho Woofers!

It's us again, Daisy & Holly.

This morning was a bit dull and uninteresting, gloomy sky's and a bit colder than yesterday! It didn't stop us from having a game of chase along the Sea Wall and hunting some rabbits in the bushes. So, Holly was crashing around the bush and I was having a sniff at the flowers, they had a lovely sniff!

These smell nice!
There was a strange looking ship went passed with it's own gantry for lifting stuff in and out!

Strange looking ship!
Lunchtime, Old Two Legs had some things to do in town so we tagged along, as we do, just to make sure he's not getting into any trouble!

Of course, after doing all his jobs we decided that a run in the Forest would be a good idea, so, a quick woof and point our nose in the direction of the Forest and off we went!

There's more up here!
I have never seen so many squirrels running around in January, Holly and I were going potty chasing them all. Up trees, under logs, over tree stumps and into bushes!

Look! Over there as well!
Too fast for us!
Holly managed to corner a couple of squirrels up a tree and thought she had them trapped, but you know, those sneaky squirrels just jumped onto the branches of the next tree and were off liked greased lightening!

OK, I got them trapped now!
We didn't actually catch one but came very close on a few occasions!

Well, it was exhausting chasing around the trees and we were glad of a break. We came across a couple of woofers out for a walk.

Holly said she had met these doggy's before and one did this trick of yawning and if you had a look under her tail, you could see daylight.

Come on, say Arr!
Needless to say, she wouldn't say arr and Holly was killing herself trying not to laugh!

I think she was trying to trick me!

Holly says there is chicken tonight so I'd better be off before she eats mine and leaves me the feathers!

Bye for now.

Monochromatic Sunday

Hi Woofers,

Daisy & Holly here on a chilly Sunday!

We went out for our normal morning walk along the Sea Wall and Holly was sniffin along the beach, totally ignoring Old Two Legs telling her to stay away from the smelly bits!

Wot Smelly Bits?
Then OTL hid behind the breaker and called Holly in a 'cross' voice, Holly got worried and couldn't find OTL, until she looked over the breaker!

Calling Me?
It was about now that OTL discovered he was taking the photo's in Mono (Black and White to you and me!) So, OTL, being OTL, decided we would have a Monochromatic Morning!

Then he tried to recreate a photo he had done some time ago,  but couldn't find the right place, so he took this.

Steps No 9 Again!
As OTL couldn't find the exact spot to take the picture, he started grumbling and making funny noises, the sort of noise he makes when we are in trouble.

I thought I was in trouble, so I stood on the wall and asked OTL, are you cross?

Am I in Trouble?
I was glad when OTL said that I wasn't in any sort of trouble, yet!

He can be sneaky you know!

Then he had a super idea, he would take a picture of me as my Great Great Grandma. Now I never have seen my Great Great Grandma and I was a bit unsure what he was going on about, but I stood still and posed and turned this way and that.

When we got home he said that in the old days we didn't have these super electronic cameras, instead they had ones with a thing called film and it was in black and white. Aha, I thought, this has something to do with Monochromatic that he was going on about when we were down the beach. So, after a load of time on the computer here is Great Great Grandma Daisy!

Great Great Grandma Daisy.
Now I know where I get my good looks from!

This afternoon was spent over at The Boys house where we met up with the family and got cuddled, stroked petted and chased around the house by everyone in turn! It was fun and exhausting at the same time!

Back home, we have decided to mug OTL for some shortbread!

Bye bye for now, see you tomorrow!

Cold Innit!

Hi Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here again.

It has been a bit cold here today, first thing this morning we were unsure if we needed our coats but at the last minute the sun came out so we risked it!

It still was cold and the only way to keep warm was to have a game of 'Chase' and fight over a bit of tree someone had left on the beach!

It's Mine!

That was a good bit of fun and then Holly decoded to have a sniff on the beach. Old Two Legs is worried when Holly does this 'cos there was a time when she had a sniff and got something on her snout and cost OTL a load of money at the vets, just for the medicine!

So, with OTL shouting 'NO' as loud as he can, I woofed a couple of times and then gave her a good telling off when she climbed the steps off the beach!

You heard OTL.......NO!
Lunch time we met up with Poppy and Billy, Billy was more interested in his ball, which I can understand, but Poppy fell in love with OTL and wouldn't leave him alone, even when I woofed at her!

Don't touch my Ball!
We didn't stay long 'cos it was still a bit cold, so off we went to the car. On the way we passed a big bush that had some flowers on it, OTL thinks it is Broom, now first the Daffodils and now Broom flowering and it's not even February!

Broom Broom!

If it carries on this way I can see the leaves turning brown and falling off the trees around the end of March!

Strange thing the Global Warming!

Tomorrow we are off the see the Boys and some of the family, it's a sort of get together for all the Two Legs!

Bye bye for now.

Daisy & Holly

Yucky Paws!

Yo Ho Woofers!

It's us again, Daisy & Holly.

This morning we were out with Old Two Legs, down on the Sea Wall when we saw this big bird going around in circles, OTL said it was a Hen Harrier and although we had seen these birds before, they are a bit rare on the Sea Wall!

Marsh Harrier!
Having got that bit of excitement out of the way, we carried on our walk along the wall, sharing a sniff or two.

As normal, the Wormy Men were out digging holes, and the boats and ships were sailing along, as normal, and the birds were digging for food..............as normal!

Another normal day!
So, just for a change, we got up a bit of a gallop and ran down the wall as fast as we could, stopped, turned around, and ran all the way back, which was a bit abnormal!

The Return Trip!
Having got that bit of excitement out of the way, we carried on our run along the wall, we came to the green grass bit and OTL found a tennis ball on the ground, so OTL, being OTL, kicked it and it flew through the air, bounced on the path and then down the Sea Wall and into the mud.

Now, you don't do that and expect us to stand there just looking at the ball bouncing around, do you?

Too right!

Off we went in hot pursuit, we ran like the wind across the path and tumbled down the wall and arrived at the edge of the mud.

Did we stop? No we didn't!

Here, it's Yucky!
A bit late we found that the mud was still very wet and Yucky! OTL was shouting at us to 'Come Bye' or was it 'Gerrrout!' I can't remember which!

Lets face it, we knew the Wormy Men wore Wellies!

Professional Yuk!
Well, we haven't got wellies, so, OTL had muddy paws all over the car on the way home!

In the afternoon we went down to deliver some stuff and then down to the New Park. Loads of ball chasing (no mud) and we met up with some of our mates and also some new dogs.

There was a couple of Spaniels who had knitted coats on and they looked a right pair of Wally's!

We couldn't help but laugh!

They said that the jackets were next to useless but they only wore then 'cos Grandma had knitted them for Christmas and they didn't want to hurt her feelings!

Don't Laugh!
We could understand that, but they said they were looking forward to Spring, just so they can loose the stupid jackets!

As we went further around we finally ended up at the swimming hole, now OTL has been keeping us away from here because he says it has been too cold for a swim, but today he forgot all about that, until he saw us having a paddle!

First Paddle of the Year!
We told him we were only having a drink and didn't really want to go for a swim and can he throw the ball in just to prove it!

He said something and we know that the second word was  OFF!

Then he suddenly dashed off to one side and got all artistic again with the camera.

Moor Hen at Sunset!
I do wish he would warn us when he's going to do things like that, the way he rushed off leaping onto the rocks, Holly and me thought he was going to jump off the rocks into the swimming hole!

Back home to Chicken Dinner, followed by a brand new Rawhide Chew, it was heaven, just HEAVEN!

Bye bye all, see you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

A very Pooy Puppy!

Hi Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here.

Last night Holly and me were on 'Puppy Patrol' all night. Every couple of hours or so we would get up, jump up on Old Two Legs bed and lick his ear to let him know that we were about to do the rounds and check for intruders. After licking OTL we would give The Missus a quick slurp on the ear as well, just to make sure she knows that the house is safe when we are guarding her!

Normally we march in single file, picking our paws up and marching in step. First into the office and then into TM card room and then the bathroom and, well you get the idea!

We cover the whole house, inspecting every corner and under the tables and behind all the curtains.

If we find anything suspicious we give a 'Woof' and both inspect it before deciding if we should wake OTL up for a more serious inspection!

We managed to refer our findings back to OTL three times last night, one thirty, three fifteen and four fifteen! We thought we were being good Guard Dogs, TM said we were close to being sent to the Dogs Home!

It was late when we went out for a walk this morning, OTL over slept!

It was funny watching him stagger along the beach all half asleep while we did our 'Marching Practice' along the wall!

Hup! Two Thee Four!
We woofed at the Wormy Men but they were too far out on the mud to hear us and OTL got all 'Artistic' with their boot prints!

Tracks of the Wormy Men!
Guess what? We met up with that Dopey Collared Dove again! We asked him why he kept hanging around the beach when all his kind were in the fields, he said he was a 'Closet Sea Gull' and was thinking of growing web feet. Holly said that it was a bit too strange for her and headed off to chase a sniff that had come in on the wind!

I'd rather be a Sea Gull!
Back for a snooze in OTL's office while he made up bits to send off to his customers.

In the afternoon we all headed off to The Farm, well we had not been there for a while and there were bound to be some new sniffs in the woods.

We smelt Badgers and Foxes and I saw a squirrel that Holly an I chased all the way down the hill until he shot up a tree! Holly and I stood at the bottom and woofed at him but he wouldn't come down again, Wimpy Squirrel!
Squirrel Chasing.
Then Holly caught a sniff of a Badger down one of the holes and woofed a big Hello down the hole but there was no movement down there at all, we reckon they were all asleep for the Winter.

Wake Up Badgers!
We were wandering through the wood and OTL was a little ahead of us, Holly suddenly stopped, nose in the air and said 'Hey! get a load of that Sniff!' Then she rushed off to the side and was snuffling around on the ground. I had a sniff but it wasn't really my sort of sniff, a bit too strong for me, but not for Holly.

She started to have a roll in it, starting with her shoulders and gradually working her way down to the tip of her tail.

Then OTL turned around and saw her.

NO! YOU SMELLY NELLIE!

OTL can get all showy off sometimes and this was one of those times. He marched over to Holly who was turning around in a circle, just to make sure of an even spread across her back.

'You are going to get a wash when we get back to the car' was his only comment and he clipped her onto the lead and we headed for the car.

A rub down with some baby wipes got some of it off but it took a good washing when we got home to get it all out of her fur and boy did it pong the car out! It was a good thing OTL's sense of smell is very poor or he may have made Holly walk home, I mean, even my eyes were watering a bit by the time we got back!

Another fun day!

See you tomorrow, just one more day until the weekend and another adventure, we hope!

Bye, bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly (A cleaned up Smelly Nellie!)

Choo Choos and Woofers!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here with you again!

Loads of fun today, Old Two Legs has finally got a new telephone for the office, his last one was made by Alexander Bell and had a handle on the side that you wound around and around!

Every time he tries to make a recording for the Answering Machine, we have a woof or a grumble and you can hear us when he plays the message back!

Please leave your name and WOOF! after the tone GRUMBLE WOOF!

When we went out this morning we had to wait while a train crossed the road, so Holly stood up and woofed at it to hurry up as she wanted a wee.

Woofing Choo Choo!
OTL said that if it was a steam train it would have gone Chuff Chuff back!

Down on the Sea Wall we met up with a Collard Dove that had lost it's way, well, it was looking for food on the shore. So Holly told it that there was not much seed on the shore and it should go inland a bit, but it didn't take any notice and carried on pecking at the path, silly bird!

Holly said that all doves taste like chicken, so we both rushed at it but it fell off the side of the wall and flew down to the beach to look for seed, what a daft dove!

A Tasty Chicken Snack?
Back home we crashed out in OTL's office while he played about with the telephone, he even mounted it on the wall so he could have more space on his desk!

Then he started to fill up the memory with telephone numbers, that took him hours!

Lunch time was late 'cos he was still playing with the phone, really, he's like a kid with a new toy!

We got fed up and woofed at him to take us out and as he had to take some rubbish down the tip, we went in the big car and had fun woofing at the other dogs walking on the path and Holly spent some time blowing raspberries at the truckers!

Down the New Park we met up with an old hairy sort of doggy who we asked if he wanted to have a game of 'chase the ball', 'No thanks he said, I don't do balls, too damned tricky for me 'cos my legs aren't what they used to be!'

I don't do Balls!
Off we went and sat in the Tee-Pee to see if the Indians were about and Holly said that she could hear them Whooping in the distance! I couldn't hear any Whooping and I think she was making it up just to try and scare me!

Was that an Indian?
A bit further on we met up with some doggies we had met before, so we all had a group sniff, passed on some info on good sniffs down the path and then chased after OTL who was wandering off on his own!

Having a Group Sniff!
We caught up with OTL outside the cattle enclosure, he was looking at a Heifer who looked like it had 'Attitude'!

So, up we trot and we stare at the Heifer, giving it the old 'Hairy Eyeball' treatment and it just stood there giving us the 'Hairy Eyeball' back.

Then Holly said, 'Hey, do you taste like chicken?'

The Heifer looked at Holly and said, 'Do you taste like grass?'

'Come on' said Holly, 'I asked the question first and anyway we are dogs and not grass'

The Heifer looked down it's long nose at Holly, increased the 'Hairy Eyeball' and said in a slow, meaningful voice.

I don't!
Holly blew a big raspberry and we ran off!

Back home to a Lambs Heart dinner and some biscuits OTL got from the vet, they taste a bit like sawdust but when they get soaked in the juice of the meat they are passable, just!

Bye bye for now, see you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly (who tastes of Dog!)

Aurora? Wot Aurora?

Hello Woofers!

It's us, Daisy & Holly back with you again.

Last night, just before we went to bed, Old Two Legs let us out into the garden for our late night wee and he came out as well! Now, it is not usual for OTL to wander around the garden late at night, so what was he up to?

Seems like he had read that a Magnetic Storm has hit the world and there should be lights in the sky and stuff like that. Poor OTL, no lights except for the street lights to light up the sky!

This morning we went out for our run along the Sea Wall, in the rain, we don't like rain but it was too far from home to go back, so off we went. A look over the wall told us the sea was out and we had a chance for a run on the beach, but it is always hard running on stones!

The further we went along the beach the wetter it got and Holly stopped and pointed to the ground and told OTL that she could see herself in the puddles!

Look!         WET!

That was it, we decided we have had enough and wanted to go home, so, a quick woof at the Wormy Men!

Woof Woof Wormy!
No answer from them so a big raspberry and back home!

Lunch time was fun, OTL has purchased a dog whistle and is trying to get us to be little sheep dogs!

He has been waving his arms about, blowing on the whistle and shouting Away and Come Bye, none of which we understand at all!

We have worked out that Come Bye and Away mean go to the side but we are having problems with which side he means. I'm sure that if he blows the whistle any harder his eyes will pop out!

I mean, we can hear him if he whistles very low using his lips, this dog whistle just irritates!

OK, now which way?
In the end we just walked away and left him puffing and blowing and jumping up and down!

As we walked along the Sea Wall in the distance we saw a cyclist peddling his bike along the wall.

Hey, says Holly 'You go Away and I go Come Bye' and see what happens!

Charge!
We ran up to him and went each side of him, you know he didn't even see us! He just carried on peddling!

Maybe we should get OTL to blow his whistle at him!

Chicken for dinner tonight, seriously good meal!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

A Lazy Sort of Day

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with you again.

Today we decided that as we had such a good time yesterday and were so tired when we got home that we would have one of our 'Lazy Days'.

We have these days from time to time, it sort of balances out the hectic days and allows us to catch up on our snoozing!

We went out with Old Two Legs for our morning stroll and found someone loading up plastic sacks with sea shells, OTL asked what is he going to use them for and he said 'The Garden'. Now we have never heard of them growing Sea Shells in the garden!

Going to plant some Sea Shells?
As OTL says, 'What ever turns you on!'

We woofed a 'Good Morning' to the Wormy Man but as normal, he didn't hear us, maybe he was listening to his iPlod thingy!

Hello Wormy Man!
So, we carried on with our 'Puppy Patrol' and sniffed our way back to the car.

On Puppy Patrol!
There were no TV vans today so the airport must be 'Old News' now!

Back home we let OTL get to work and settled down to a good snooze in his office. Just the occasional phone call and the low hum of the computer fan, we were soon of dreaming of sandy beaches and big holes!

Sweet Dreams!
OTL had to go out to do some work and we were left at home with The Missus who took us out for a walk over the Fields, we haven't been over there for a while so it was good to catch up on the sniffs and leave a few of our own!

Back home to sit at the window waiting for OTL to return!

When he finally came back, Holly spotted him first, and she woofed a big 'Hello' to him then rushed down stairs to wait by the door. I was hot on her tail and when OTL came through the door he got licked from one ear to the other and back again!

He had a sniff of Dust Cart about him, so we know where he has been working today! After a change of clothes and a good wash it was time for a cuddle before dinner.

Dinner was chicken and biscuits followed by a snooze before mugging OTL for some shortbread.

So, a lazy, snoozy sort of day, the sort we enjoy!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly
