Lazy Day for us.

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again!

Today has been one of those, 'Lazy Days', you know the sort, nothing planned and not really inclined to do anything anyway 'cos having a lay down in the garden is a much better idea than doing something energetic!

Our walk along The Sea Wall was, 'Gentle', no running or woofing or fighting or getting lost!

There was one owner with a dog, sitting on the beach, waiting for the boats to come along for the big flotilla that is planned for the weekend, but there was nothing in sight, just like yesterday. So he's got a long wait!

Old Two Legs had a look at the works email and decided that working inside was not very exciting or profitable, so, out he went into the garden to carry on with the 'Pond'!

Getting There!
He has finished going down and is now going 'Sideways' to get rid of the grass and weeds. The plastic sheet is to stop any more grass growing where he has  dug up the grass roots.

Poor OTL, working away at digging up grass roots and pulling up the weeds, we felt exhausted just watching him!

There were a load of twigs on the ground and we wondered where they came from?

Little Twigs from????
Holly spotted a couple of Collared Doves having a cuddle on a wall bracket. They must have been trying to build a nest but the twigs keep falling off the bracket, do you think that's where you get the saying  'Bird Brain' from?

I said I wanted Twigs, not a Cuddle!

We let OTL back in the house for lunch at twelve thirty and then out for a walk at one!

Again we went to The Sea Wall and this time we went up to where they have got the sand hills. We didn't dig any holes but it was fun running up and down the hills!

Skiing down a Sand Hill!
We saw some ships passing and there was one that was very smoky, Holly said that it must be burning old rubber tyres!

S.S. Smoky Sid!

We have got to get all our holiday stuff packed tonight 'cos we are off tomorrow for a few days away in the caravan, let's hope the rain stays away!

Holly and I plan to have a good run on the sandy beach and dig some 'BIG' holes, bigger than OTL's pond!

See you tomorrow.

Daisy & Holly

My Never Ending Battle with Old Two Legs!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here!

Wot a 'Hot Day' today! We went for our normal walk along the sea Wall and we didn't see anyone or any thing!

Out to sea there were no ships.

We See No Ships!

So we had a walk on the beach and then the sea wall path and.........Nuffin!

We Still See Nuffin!
The only excitement was when Holly saw a rabbit under the bushes and started her run up.

Getting Closer!
She was almost up to the rabbit before it decided that it may be a good thing to go back to bed!

Nearly There!
One day Holly will get to the rabbit, but then what? Will she just stop and say Good Morning?

Old Two Legs gave me a brush this morning and as I lay on my side with him gently brushing my shoulder and side all the way down to my tail, I slowly closed my eyes and sort of drifted off, as I normally do.

Then my whiskers began to twitch, something was not right, I opened my eye to see Old Two Legs holding the bottle of eye drops in his other hand!

That was it!

I was all awake and on guard, no eye drops for me, nasty things!

Then OTL put the bottle down and picked me gently up in his arms and carried me upstairs. This is a bit strange 'cos after a brush I normally get breakfast.

I was put down on the bed and covered over with the duvet, then rolled over twice!

Wrapped up in the duvet, with just my head sticking out, The Missus appeared and squirted some drops into my eye!

Sneaky SNeaky SNEAKY OTL!

Mine you, my eye is not as sore as it was, but that's no excuse!

To try and get on my good side, OTL took Holly and me to The New Park, great fun in the Swimming Hole.

Nearly Got It!
I nearly lost my ball, until a big old Labrador came and got it for me!

Hey! Get Me Ball Mister?

We saw a mallard mother with her youngsters paddling about in the swimming hole and one dog got too close, so she attacked him!

A Dive Bombing Mummy Mallard!
Baby Mallard doing a Fast Exit!
While she was doing that her ducklings sort of ran on top of the water to get away from danger, I wish I could do that! Especially when OTL wants to put drops in my eye!

We could have some more fun tonight when he gets the drops out!

I'll let you know tomorrow!

Bye bye for now.

Nest Building!

Hi Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here!

What another super sunny day, we have been out with Old Two Legs, having a walk along The Sea Wall this morning.

Even Holly said it was good fun!

This is Fun!
We heard a Nightingale singing it's head off and Holly tried to whistle the song as well. Well, it sounded more like thunder than a song and OTL asked why Holly was blowing raspberries!

We met up with Mr Corvid who was out looking for breakfast.

Seen any good whelks lately?
After we got back, OTL tried to get some more eye drops in my eye, in the end he had to trick me by pretending he was going to wipe my eye with an eye cleaning pad but squirted the eye drops instead!

Sneaky, that's what he is!

Lunchtime we went out for a walk along the old Sea Wall and found loads of smelly bits to roll in!

I found a Smelly!
Poor OTL got cross with us and threatened to put us both in the shower when we got home, not that his threats were anything to worry us about! We kept rolling in Smelly's and chewing on goose poo!

Daisy in the Daisy's!
Holly thought it was funny when I crouched down and said I was hiding in the Daisy's!

We raced down to the other end of the water and I went in collecting sticks, I said I was going to build a nest, just like the swans do, all made from twigs and reed stalks!

Looking for twigs.

First of all you have to find the twigs, so off I went for some 'Deep Paddling' to get the twigs and reeds.

Holly said she would stand guard to stop any Geese or Swans pinching my nest material!

Hey! Gottany Spare Twigs?
You know I spent a good ten minutes looking for twigs and bringing them back to the shore.

and another twig!
I must say that it got a bit boring, all that backwards and forwards collecting one twig at a time!

Then I spotted Holly, picking up my twigs and throwing them back into the water, so, I was picking up the same twig and bringing it back and she was throwing it out again!

It was then that the fight started!

I chased that Porky Puppy all over the place and twisted her tail as a punishment!

Gotcha!
Back home again for an afternoon snooze and OTL had more fun getting a drop of eye stuff into my eye!

I think that we both will be glad when the last drop comes out of the bottle!

Off for a chicken dinner now, so bye bye and see you again tomorrow!

Thunder and Sun Shine!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here.

What a day I've had!

First of all we had a run on The Sea Wall, super sun shine, blue sky and balmy breezes!

We met up with Bella who wanted to have a run around type of game.

Hey! Wanna Play Chase?
So we had a chase around, which was good fun 'cos Bella is about our size so we were not intimidated!

Then Bella showed us some of her 'Tricks'. The best one was...............

Look! I can play Dead!
Why she would want to play dead was beyond us, Holly said that maybe her owners taught her that just to keep her quiet sometimes!

Shortly after we left her we heard 'It's Meeeeeeee!'

Here comes Barney!
We had a good game with Barney, we chased the ball and Old Two Legs kept on throwing it for us. Once I even got it and ran back to OTL with it, just like a retriever type dog!

Look! I Got It First!
OTL kept throwing the ball and we were back and forwards with it, having a good time. The only problem was, it was just TOO HOT!

In the end we just had to have a lay down for a breather, Barney more than us needed a rest!

No Please, Please No More, I'm Bushed!
Now that was a first, Barney almost worn out!

After leaving Barney we went back to the car and off to The Vet!

The vet had a look at my eye and decided it was an infection rather than a scratch or bit of plant seed like last time.

This vet was the same one that stuck that big drain pipe of a needle in me when I got 'Chipped', so, I wasn't having him near me!

OTL had to hold me still and have a look in my eye while the vet looked at the same time.

He had to put some drops into my eye and it took OTL to hold me and a nurse to hold my head before any drops went into my eye!

Pretty soon we were out of there, OTL put us in the car and went back to pay the bill.

He came out with a small bottle of eye drops for me and a vet bill in the other hand and yes, he was crying!

He had to put two of these drops in my eye four times a day, they are cold and I do squirm a bit but they go in in the end!

This afternoon we went down to The Forest again and had a walk around looking for squirrels but all we saw was this rook, looking all mean and Showy Off!

Who Are You Looking At?
Late this afternoon we went with OTL down to the town to post off some stuff for his customers. It changed from sun shine to dark clouds and then there started all this flashing and banging. OTL said it was a thunder storm but Holly said it was more like those nasty 'Flash Bangs' that scare her. So she sat on the arm rest and cuddled up to OTL's shoulder, just to feel safe!

We are off for an early night 'cos tomorrow OTL has a busy day and he says he needs his 'Beauty Sleep' but we think he is joking 'cos it will take more that a good sleep to sort him out!

Any way, he has to try to get the drops in my eye!

Bye bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Invasion of People!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here.

What a day it's been!

Old Two Legs has been busy in the pond, lowering the edges and flattening them out. We of course sat in the shade and instructed him on which bit was wobbly or too high!

Then, when he stopped for a tea break, we helped him eat his biscuits!

It has been very hot today and of course that brings everyone out for a walk on our Sea Wall!

Wot You Doing on Our Beach?

There were families trying to build sand castles on the stony beach, fat chance!

Then there were the ones just laying on the beach just like like seals!

Two Legged Seals!
Then there were the Marching Ones, they are the ones that walk all the way along the sea wall then march all the way back again!

Left Right, Left Right, Keep in Line!
And of course, there is always the one that wants to walk along the 'Waste Water Pipe', that's the one that really 'Honks' sometimes!

Pipe Walker!
Both Holly and I were glad when we got clear of them all and had a run along the Sea Wall making jokes about the Two Legs and how they can only go no more than three minutes away from their parked car!

In the clear now!
OTL managed to find a Four Spot Chaser Dragonfly that was sitting in the sun. The only thing was, it's abdomen was rather thin for a dragonfly, OTL said that maybe it had not eaten yet and was looking for some food to fatten up on!

Four Spot Chaser
The four spots are the ones on it's wing ends!

Later on we had a treat, we all went off to Northwood Hill RSPB place and OTL took his camera and big lens. We were supposed to be looking for the Barn Owl that nest in the old cow shed.

Well, we stood there for a while then Holly and I got bored, so The Missus took us for a walk while OTL stayed behind looking for Barn Owls.

First of all he found some Gorse.

Not a Barn Owl

Then along came this Chaffinch.

Still not a Barn Owl!

Then he saw a Magpie.

No, still not a Barn Owl!
He saw a Heron fly over head, so he took some more pictures.

Nothing like a Barn Owl!
After that he spotted the moon.

OK, but still nothing like a Barn Owl
In the distance he spotted a Cuckoo, but it was too far away to get a good shot!

But what he didn't see was a Barn Owl!

Never mind, we saw loads of rabbits but as we were on our leads, all we could do was wish!

Bye bye for now, vets tomorrow for me, I've got a sore eye that needs some money thrown at it, poor OTL!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

The Last of The Skips!

Hi Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with you!

Old Two Legs has been working hard today, he has finally filled the remaining skips with the earth from The Pond!

Working on the assumption that  each of these skips holds one ton of earth, then OTL has shovelled a total of twelve tons of earth around the place until it finally arrived in the skip!

So all he has to do now is to shape the contours of the pond and square up the levels all round the pond, well, we can't have a wobbly pond!

First thing this morning we went out along The Sea Wall and saw some more Pirate Ships racing down the Medway and into the North Sea.

Chasing the Bounty Ships!
We think they were chasing after a big container ship that had left earlier!

Holly and I were running along the Sea Wall looking for the best place to stop and wave at them and Holly was also calling out for them to come and pick us up for a days sailing but I don't think they heard us 'cos the didn't stop!

Hey! Wait for us!
We were looking out to sea when we heard 'Hellooooooooo Girlies!' It was Barney again!

Hellooooooooooo!
We had a play and a game of 'Chase' with his ball.

He introduced us to his mate who had come to stay for a week or so, just for a holiday by the sea!

Barney's Mate

After lunch we woke OTL up and said that we wanted to go to The Forest for a change!

So off we went to hunt squirrels!

Squirrel Hunting!
Holly got bored and decided that instead of hunting squirrels she would instead become 'Queen of The Fairy's' and to do that she would take over the Fairy Queens chair.

Now I'm Queen of The Fairy's!
When OTL said that she had taken over the chair but she had to take it home with her, Holly then said that she really didn't want to be Queen Fairy after all!

When we got home we all had a snooze, especially OTL, he was snoring so much it kept waking us up!

To stop him snoring we would jump up onto his lap and lick his ear, that normally does the job!

We are off for a chew of the Raw Hide Chew, so bye bye for now, see you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

A Hard Days Work!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here!

We have been enjoying the sun today, on our walk this morning, the wind was blowing in off to sea, so it was a bit cool but at least there was no mist!

We saw what looked like a Green Finch on top of a bush singing it's head off!

Summer Green Finch
Then we heard a load of barking that sounded like a couple of dogs were having a great time!

In The Yuk!
We spotted them racing through the mud!

Holly reckons that they will have to have a hose down when they got home!

We spotted a Wormy man out on the mud flats digging, he was all on his own and the tide had turned, so he didn't have long to get back to shore!

There's a Wormy Man!
We headed back for home and spent some time helping Old Two Legs with the pond.

OTL was loading up the barrow and we were trying the pond out for size!

Well, it's deep enough to swim in!
Poor OTL, he finished taking all the earth out the front of the house but the skip man hadn't delivered the last two skips yet, so he couldn't load any more earth.

Holly said it would be a good idea for us to go for an early walk!

So we did!

Which was good 'cos we saw some pirates sailing their ship out of the River Medway!

Holly said they were off for an adventure on the High Seas robbing ships and smuggling stuff!

Pirates of The River Medway!

It looked a super pirate ship and Holly said that she would like one just like that if she came into some money!

OTL had to go out in the afternoon to do some deliveries and we tagged along, so, being close to The Farm, we went to catch up on all the sniffs!

It was hot, we were running and chasing each other through the trees and across the fields. In fact it was so hot we just had to have a sit down for five minutes in the shade!

Just five minutes break please!
OTL took advantage of us and started to snap away at some pretty yellow buttercup type of flowers.

Well, it made a change from Bluebells!

Wot! No Bluebells?
Back home for a well earned rest this afternoon, even OTL had a snooze!

Tomorrow it is OTL's job to load up the skips and then take us out for an adventure, providing he doesn't collapse!

Bye bye for now, The Missus has just called out that dinner is ready!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly
