It's Wednesday, so it must be Grandma's

Hello All!

These Wednesdays come around very quickly, you know, seems like only last week we were at Grandma's house!

We had a super run around before we got to Grandma's,OTL took us around the fields and we found an old tree trunk on the ground.

All Aboard Me Hearties

We had a great time pretending to be pirates, we would be sailing on the high seas, chasing after other ships and taking all their ships biscuits!

I was the brave, Captain Dangerous Daisy and my First Mate was Horrid Holly!

Horrid Holly, First Mate

Grandma was fun, dancing around the house trying to chase us with her Zimmer Frame.

Holly got a lick of the Cooking Sherry bottle again!

We were so late leaving Grandma's that we had our final run across the football fields in the dark, it was great running flat out chasing each other and not see where we were going.

That's why we ran into OTL's legs a couple of times!

Holly nearly got a 'Flip & Roll' to work on him!

A Monster in the Front Garden

Hello to you all,

I have discovered a monster in the front garden.

There's a conifer tree in our front garden, one that is shaped like a cone with good lot of branches down to the floor. I was going out one day with Old Two Legs  for a walk when  I caught the smell of 'something' underneath the lower branches. Brave as a terrier should be, I lunged forward towards the branches. The monster, having a better view of the outside world than I, of the tree insides, made a violent movement that stopped me dead in my tracks.

Whoa Girl !!  I thought, slow down this could be tricky.

So there I was spread-eagled on my front legs like a starfish, I had  lowered my head to the ground and my backside pointing to the sky.

The monster made movements again and I decided that backwards was a very good place to go, so, I  shot back like I'd been stung on my nose.

Half way through the jumping back manoeuvre, I managed a 180 degree turn to face the other way, ready to do a VFX (Very Fast Exit). The monster had also decided that it was time to make a VFX and took the opportunity to dash from the undergrowth to the underside of  our car parked four feet away.

It didn't help my street cred to have OTL laughing his head off.

The encounter made has me very suspicious of that tree and every time I go out I  give it a wide berth. I told Holly about the 'monster' that lurked under the tree, she wanted to investigate further. So we had Holly and me, on the Yoke lead with Holly straining to get to the tree and me straining in reverse to get away from the tree.

Holly reckons it was 'Hissin Chrissy' but I'm not so sure, I think it might have been a 'Puppy Eating Badger'.

That Holly's going to get us into trouble one day, I can see it coming!

Holly's Back!

A Wet and Windy Hello to you all!

A few things to tell you, first of all Holly has come to visit, for a few days. Seems her house is being decorated and it was decided that wet paint, wallpaper paste and Holly don't mix!!!

No more whizz bangs, so we both got a good nights sleep. I bet Dougal is pleased the Whizz Bangs have finished, back to an unbroken evening snooze, before the 'real' night time sleep!

Old Two Legs and I went out on Sunday and did photography and some bird watching, I saw my first White-Fronted Goose, that goes into my 'Life List'!!

Does it taste like chicken?

Well Monday was fun, fun, fun. Me and Holly have spent the day running around the house, me chasing Holly and Holly chasing me.

We barked at the Postman, (he calls me 'Killer') but he's very nice really.

The wind was beginning to blow when we went out for our morning walk and OTL had to pick me up for a cuddle 'cos the wind and rain got right through to my skin. A run around the field with Holly warmed me up though.

We spent most of the day with OTL in his office, it's nice and warm and away from The Missus with her jet powered vacuum cleaner!

This is me and Holly having an afternoon snoozette!

Y'know life don't get much better than this!

Fun Sunday

Hello Everyone!

Now that all that noise has finished a dog can get some sleep! Over the past two nights all I've heard is , whizz, phutt, BANG! Followed by Wheee, whizz, phut, whoosh, BANG!

Poor old Holly, I hear she got very upset and had a bad couple of nights. Maybe next year she should come over to us for the night and we can cuddle up together.

OTL says it's Bonfire night, some sort of Autumn rite to scare off winter, bet it doesn't work, these Two Legs can't get anything right, they just make a lot of noise and scare us animals as well!

You know, I thought that I was just writing this diary for just a few people who 'follow' me but OTL says that there are others who read this but don't 'sign in', then he told me of a few he knew, so, HELLO AGGIS, HELLO MAJOR......HELLO JAQUI & STEVE................HELLO SHEILA!

This is me waving to you!

Me and OTL went out in the car to have a look along the seaside for some photo opportunities, he knew it was going to rain later in the day so he wanted to get a picture called 'The Coming Storm'.

Looking at the results last night it was more of 'Come on let's go home it's Wet'!

Bird Watching for Dogs.

Hello there!

When I'm out walking with Old Two Legs, I sometimes act as his 'Bird Dog' especially if he has his camera with him and is stalking a particularly interesting bird.

Charging across the fields is fun, chasing Pigeons and Skylarks. OTL has been trying to get a photo of a Skylark for some time now.

So I help all I can.

Skylark Chasing!

I normally kick up a few Skylarks but they are too far away for OTL and his camera.

I like it when we go off in the car to special places where OTL sits in a shed waiting for birds to land in front of him. I am all very interested when we first get into the shed but after a while I get bored, unless there is loads of big birds like Geese, they make so much noise!

If they are too noisy I have a little woof and grumble at them to keep quiet, in case they scare off the other birds!

After a while I get bored and go around the shed trying to mug everyone for their for food, the've always got sandwiches and crisps in their pocket.

Well, OTL gets all embarassed, packs up his stuff and marches me out. I don't mind really, at least I get to investigate some new smells, what a way to spend a Saturday!

A Relaxing Day

Hello World!

I had a lazy day yesterday.

After getting up and doing all my jobs, I went into see Old Two Legs in his office. He was making such a noise piling things up on his desk, as he says, busy, busy!

I left him alone and went off to see what The Missus was doing.

The Missus is a bit of a tear-a-way when it comes to cleaning the house. She uses the vacuum cleaner like a jet powered bulldozer and anything left on the floor gets either thrown away or shoved into the nearest drawer or cupboard.

All of which makes for some frantic searching when OTL wants to find something he left out last night.

Mind you, TM can spend hours looking for her car keys or her glasses after she has 'tidied up'.

I make sure that all my chews and toys are kept safe in OTL's office!

Sometimes when OTL is working I like to stretch out on the sofa and watch a bit of TV, even if it is card making programs, boring, boring, boring!

The only danger to me is when she starts playing with her inks and rollers, the other day she nearly brayered my tail and the number of times I've had to get OTL to brush the glitter from my nose or remove the peel-off's from my tummy, well, I can't count as many!

But as OTL says, it keeps her quiet!

Keeping Two Legs under control

Hi Folks!

Being a Puppy and also the smallest in the house normally means you have to do what your told all the time.

You know, get off the furniture, get off the bed, don't pee on the carpet, don't stand in your water bowl, give me my sock back! All boring stuff, but there are times when you can get your own back.

Well, yesterday I've had a 'Result'.

Old Two Legs was getting ready to take me out for my late morning walk. He was phaffing around looking for my lead so I went ahead of him out the door.

Us doggy's are more in tune to the weather than you lot and I knew that in about ten minutes we would get rain.

I DON'T DO RAIN!

Would you wear This?

Puddles, wet grass, mud, smelly ditches, Fox Poo, yes, rain, No!

So being off the lead I decided that a quick run around the football pitch behind the house would be a good idea. A quick wee and a poo then back for some lunch.

OTL did not see it that way, he wanted to go over the fields, no chance, so I started to walk down the path to the park.

OTL was a sight to see, calling, blowing the whistle, jumping up & down, shouting, then finally walking towards me as though he was going to clip the lead onto my collar. I kept about ten feet in front of him all the time, running towards the park, stopping, let him almost catch up, then trotting another few feet, stopping so that he thought I was was waiting for him and just as he got close, off I would trot again!

Well, we went around the park, I had a wee and a poo, OTL put that in the 'Poo Bin'.

Then it started to rain. So, like the good puppy I am, I let him clip the lead on and we made a hasty retreat to home.

I think, secretly, he was pleased he did not have to walk in the rain but it was good to get one over on OTL though!

My Special Place

Hi there!

Everyone has a 'special place' they like to go to where they feel safe, comfortable and warm. I've got such a place. I like to sneak off there after coming back from my morning walk or if I want to be quiet  during the day.

After getting a morning brush from Old Two Legs and breakfast from The Missus I have a wander around the house doing my 'tour of inspection'.

I have to keep an eye on these two, if they leave anything laying around I have to clear it up, socks, slippers, bits of paper and OTL's screwdrivers.

Once my inspection has been done I need to settle down for a little nap.

Now I know that I can't take any of my nibbles to my 'special place' as most of the nibbles I like have smells that 'hang around'.

I like Roast Pigs Ears, and Dried Chicken Slices and Rawhide Rolls. All of which taste wonderful but tend to 'Honk' a bit!

If I took them to my 'Special Place' I think I would get into trouble, big time! So, I leave them in my basket, under the cushion, for later.

So, where's my 'Special Place'?

I sneak off to their bed where OTL lays his head each night. It's got a lovely smell of sweaty OTL and I can even smell his breath on it. It makes me feel all warm and safe.

All together....................Aaaah!

Eau De Old Two Legs

The one thing that spoils my snoozette? The Missus, she comes in, crashing about with the vacuum cleaner. That thing roars like a jet engine on heat!

The woman has no soul.

Pussy Cats

Hello there, and a Big Hello to Dougal the Tibetan Terrier as well!

I must tell you about a problem I've been having.

It is Chrissy, to be exact, her full name is 'Hissin Chrissy'

Chrissy is a big Grey-Blue Pussycat that visits my garden.

She is not a very nice Pussycat.

I am sure that Chrissy is not a happy cat, there must be something wrong with her home life or maybe she was weaned too early or even in need of a worming tablet. Needless to say when ever I meet up with her all she does is Hiss & Spit at me, not a nice Pussycat.

I was telling this to Holly when she was here and she suggested we have a serious talk to her, together, cos she couldn't Hiss & Spit at both of us at the same time. So we spent some time waiting at the back door for her. Sure enough Chrissy appeared on top of the fence and sneaked down to her hiding place at the side of the shed. She does her bird watching from there.

Because she is an unhappy cat, we can never go straight up to her to have a chat, we have to sort of 'sneak up' on her. So, off we went from the back door, crawling along on our tummies just like real Commando Puppy's, edging ever closer. I wanted to put some grass on my back and stick a twig in my collar as camouflage, but Holly reckoned we did not have the time.

We got to the end of the rockery and that is when Holly looses control and dashes forward to have a word.

Chrissy sees Holly coming and runs back along the gap between the fence and the shed.

Seeing what is going on, I have no option but to run around the other side of the shed to try to block off Chrissy's escape. By now Holly was letting of the most terrible war cry a puppy could make. I joined in to show solidarity with my sister and went crashing through the undergrowth behind the shed, whooping and hollering as well

Between howls and barks, I could hear something coming my way. Yes, it was Holly, we crashed into each other, nose to nose and breathing heavily.

'Well' I asked, 'Where is she'? It was then we heard Chrissy hissing above our heads. She had gone straight up the wall and onto the roof.

These Pussies can be as sneaky as a Greasy Badger!

Holly's Gone

Today I'm not a happy puppy.

Holly went back to her home yesterday. I know these visits can't last forever and we do have loads of fun when she is here but it's still sad when I have to wave bye bye.

Still, there is always the next time to look forward to, new games, new smells and new tricks on Old Two Legs. Holly came up with a great one this time, she pretended that she was a dog from outer space and chased me around the garden growling and woofing!

Take Me to Your Leader!

I just hope it won't be too long before she comes back.

Mind you, there are some benifits, at least now I will get all of my bed to myself without her shoving her paw in my ear in the middle of the night!

Before Holly came to visit, I was working on a plan to get out of the kitchen each night and sleep up stairs with OTL and The Missus.

What I did was to wait for a hour or so after OTL put me to bed and turned the lights out. I then start scratching the kitchen door and wimpering and barking, like I do when I get a tummy upset and wanted to have a poo NOW!

Down comes OTL and opens the kitchen door and then the back door. Well, by then I had shot back past his legs and up to bedroom like a streak of light, ready for a cuddle with The Missus.

Up he comes, all puffing and growling, picks me up and takes me back to my bed.

I must work on a better plan, maybe one where he gets locked out in the garden!
