Grandma's

Hello Everyone Daisy Here,

I've been down to Grandma's again, a little late in the day this time. So that means I didn't get to play on the fields in the light.

However, OTL parked the car and left TM in the car with the headlights on full beam pointing across the fields.

This was great, OTL and I could run along the beam and chase the leaves in the wind.

All was well until I noticed that in the distance there appeared a 'Thing' standing under the trees. At first I did not take too much notice but as we got closer, it got bigger. It looked horrible, sort of long and black.

Well I was getting a little concerned, the closer we got, the bigger it got.

By now all thoughts of wee'ing or poo'ing had gone and I was up on my back legs looking at the 'Thing'

Shock! Horror!  When I stood up on my back legs I could see that there, by the side of the 'Thing' was a smaller 'Thing'.

That's it I thought, time to see if they get scared by the barking of Dangerous Daisy!

No way, they just stood there looking at us.

It was at that point I decided that a safe place to be would be back in the car with TM, so I spun around and legged it back to the car, leaving OTL as rear guard.

Standing outside the car I let off a large number of 'Woofs' that if TM could understand, would translate as 'Open the door, now, monsters are chasing me, put the book down and let me in Now'!!!!!!!

Well finally she got the message and let me in.

OTL finally turned up, in one piece, climbed in the car, laughing!!!

He told the story of me and the 'Thing' and something called a 'Shadow thrown up by the car Headlights'

Still looked like a horrible 'Thing' to me!

Daisy's New Coat

Hello, it's me again!

Now before we go any further, I think I'd better explain about the cold, wind and rain, and me.

Unlike Holly, who has a thick coat of hair, my hair is light and soft and thin and it doesn't protect me from the nasty weather!
So, any help I can get with keeping me dry and warm is most welcome!

Yesterday OTL suggested a coat for me, so off we went to the local doggy shop.

Now that place has smells you could die for!

I just could not contain myself, it was GLORIOUS, there was even Rabbits in glass cages!

There were things called Hamsters that look like small rats!

Sort of 'See before you Eat' I suppose, but I would chase them rather than eat them!

Well, we got to the coat section and OTL started getting out different coats for me to try. There were big butch ones and there were some with furry edging, all in PINK!

Euck! and Double Euck!

Finally we settled on one that looks like it would keep the wind out.

Problem is, to get it to cover all my back down to my tail, I have to get a 'medium' size coat but the strap that goes under my tummy is just too long. No dog can be that fat!
In need of some Adjustment!

OTL has some sewing to do to shorten the straps and get them out of the way!

Well wadda ya think?

The Business or Wot?

OTL says it the Dogs Do-Da's, but I've seen Buster next door and it had better not look like his Do-Da's or there will be Big Trouble!

 Bye for now.........Daisy

Cloudy Monday

 Hello Everyone!

Last night seemed a little 'quiet', no Holly barking at the noises in the night and that frost this morning, Brrrrrr. Even I thought twice about going out over the fields!

I spent the morning wandering between my 'day bed' in Old Two Legs office and the bedroom window. I keep thinking I hear Holly's bark, so I rush to the window to see her, but she's not there.

So, I sit down and keep an eye on the people going past before going back to the 'day bed'.

Looking for Holly
OTL got told about the frost and me having second thoughts about the cold, so,being a practical sort of Two Legs, he suggested that it was because I was feeling the cold (Too Right)!

He suggested that it would be a good idea to get me a coat.

Now, don't call me ungrateful but looking at OTL's coat, I don't think I'd look 'The Business' with my front legs shoved down where he shoves his arms!

On the next blog I'll let you know what happened!

Have a fun day!!

Holly's gone back home.

Hello Fans!

It has been a wet & windy day today, Holly and I had loads of fun over the fields. OTL found the football again. He just doesn't understand that it is too big for us. Still,we showed willing by chasing it when he kicked it, then wandered off to find a new smell!

Football Anyone?

As it was wet today we didn't go out on our long walk, so we stayed at home and played at fighting.

Holly normally starts it, this time she poked her tongue out at me, that was it, I'm not taking that from anyone, so off we went.

Raspberry's to You!

Pretty soon we were rolling all over the floor 'mouth fighting' and having a wonderful time. Trouble is, OTL is trying to do some work on the computer and we kept running under the chair and kicking him as we went past. Finally we collapsed into a heap on the floor laughing our heads off!

Laughing at Us

What a great day, until Holly had to leave.

Bye bye Holly, come back soon!

love from Daisy.

P.S.

Now, back to OTL, I think he is asleep in the armchair, a big wet tongue in the ear should be about right!

Escape Bid #1

Hello All,

Today I'm not a 'Happy Puppy' cos Holly is due to go home tomorrow morning (Sunday).

She has been getting all soppy and getting on OTL's lap for a stroke and a cuddle.

Still, I don't mind really, 'cos I got Old Two Legs to myself the rest of the time!

Soppy Holly
I hope she will be back soon 'cos I do miss our long walks together and cuddles at night!

Now I hinted at my latest escape bid yesterday. I've managed to find a part of the garden where OTL and The Missus can't see me from the lounge or kitchen windows. My plan is to dig a hole under the fence.

Well I got going but hit a problem, I went down OK, but forgot to turn Right, instead, I turned Left and headed towards the middle of the lawn. OTL spotted me and despite my story of chasing after a Greasy Badger and any way it was Holly digging the hole, I got in trouble, again!

Escape Bid or Hunting Badger or It wasn't Me!

Still, it was fun watching him fill the hole back in again.

At least I'll know where the earth is soft for the next attempt!

I can be Cute

Hello Again!

When The Missus puts my food down in the kitchen, I always thank her and have a sniff at what's on offer. Sometimes it's chicken or liver and sometimes it is the stuff they buy in the doggy shop.

I don't bother to eat it straight away, but I go into the dining room because I know they are about to have their food.

It is great fun trying to mug some grub from them.

I sit next to them, and whimper, then I try a quiet woof.

If that doesn't work a louder woof and a stroke from my paw on their thigh gets their attention.

Now I have been working on 'cute' ever since I was a small puppy.

Let's face it, could you refuse me anything when I do this?

I do Cute

That's right, serious cute this is and it has taken hours of practice. You lot don't realize just how much effort goes into getting to this stage.

Me and Holly are both 'Third Level Martial Arts Cute' you know, 'Black Collar with Bones'

My sister Holly

Trouble is, OTL & TM have become immune and only sometimes, I may get a bit of meat from the table.

Still, you can't blame a dog for trying and there is always food in the kitchen if I get hungry!

Windy Weather!

What a Day, OTL has been fiddling with the computer so I've not been able to get on to post this Blog!

I'm going to save up my 'Doggy Dinners Discount Vouchers' and buy my own Laptop!

We awoke yesterday with Force 8 wind blowing against the windows. Whao Ho I thought, it looks like a quick run around the football pitch this morning! TM says Angela is coming over to visit. Holly an me are going to hide up with OTL, at least he doesn't use Glitter!

This is us standing guard to keep OTL safe!

Guard Dogs

We went out at lunch time with OTL, still windy, found a super smell we just had to roll in.
OTL got his own back though, he had to wash both our backs , poo!

We found an old football that we got OTL to kick for us, we chased after it but it was just too big to chew on or pick up. So we left it to OTL to kick around, well, it kept him quiet for a while.

We think we have found a Badger's House, Holly found this large pile of sticks and stuff, so we are going to keep an eye on it when ever we go out.

Here be Badgers!
I hope the wind and rain stops soon, I've got plans on digging a hole in the garden!

It's Wednesday, so it must be Grandma's

Hello All!

These Wednesdays come around very quickly, you know, seems like only last week we were at Grandma's house!

We had a super run around before we got to Grandma's,OTL took us around the fields and we found an old tree trunk on the ground.

All Aboard Me Hearties

We had a great time pretending to be pirates, we would be sailing on the high seas, chasing after other ships and taking all their ships biscuits!

I was the brave, Captain Dangerous Daisy and my First Mate was Horrid Holly!

Horrid Holly, First Mate

Grandma was fun, dancing around the house trying to chase us with her Zimmer Frame.

Holly got a lick of the Cooking Sherry bottle again!

We were so late leaving Grandma's that we had our final run across the football fields in the dark, it was great running flat out chasing each other and not see where we were going.

That's why we ran into OTL's legs a couple of times!

Holly nearly got a 'Flip & Roll' to work on him!

A Monster in the Front Garden

Hello to you all,

I have discovered a monster in the front garden.

There's a conifer tree in our front garden, one that is shaped like a cone with good lot of branches down to the floor. I was going out one day with Old Two Legs  for a walk when  I caught the smell of 'something' underneath the lower branches. Brave as a terrier should be, I lunged forward towards the branches. The monster, having a better view of the outside world than I, of the tree insides, made a violent movement that stopped me dead in my tracks.

Whoa Girl !!  I thought, slow down this could be tricky.

So there I was spread-eagled on my front legs like a starfish, I had  lowered my head to the ground and my backside pointing to the sky.

The monster made movements again and I decided that backwards was a very good place to go, so, I  shot back like I'd been stung on my nose.

Half way through the jumping back manoeuvre, I managed a 180 degree turn to face the other way, ready to do a VFX (Very Fast Exit). The monster had also decided that it was time to make a VFX and took the opportunity to dash from the undergrowth to the underside of  our car parked four feet away.

It didn't help my street cred to have OTL laughing his head off.

The encounter made has me very suspicious of that tree and every time I go out I  give it a wide berth. I told Holly about the 'monster' that lurked under the tree, she wanted to investigate further. So we had Holly and me, on the Yoke lead with Holly straining to get to the tree and me straining in reverse to get away from the tree.

Holly reckons it was 'Hissin Chrissy' but I'm not so sure, I think it might have been a 'Puppy Eating Badger'.

That Holly's going to get us into trouble one day, I can see it coming!

Holly's Back!

A Wet and Windy Hello to you all!

A few things to tell you, first of all Holly has come to visit, for a few days. Seems her house is being decorated and it was decided that wet paint, wallpaper paste and Holly don't mix!!!

No more whizz bangs, so we both got a good nights sleep. I bet Dougal is pleased the Whizz Bangs have finished, back to an unbroken evening snooze, before the 'real' night time sleep!

Old Two Legs and I went out on Sunday and did photography and some bird watching, I saw my first White-Fronted Goose, that goes into my 'Life List'!!

Does it taste like chicken?

Well Monday was fun, fun, fun. Me and Holly have spent the day running around the house, me chasing Holly and Holly chasing me.

We barked at the Postman, (he calls me 'Killer') but he's very nice really.

The wind was beginning to blow when we went out for our morning walk and OTL had to pick me up for a cuddle 'cos the wind and rain got right through to my skin. A run around the field with Holly warmed me up though.

We spent most of the day with OTL in his office, it's nice and warm and away from The Missus with her jet powered vacuum cleaner!

This is me and Holly having an afternoon snoozette!

Afternoon Snoozette in OTL's office.
Y'know life don't get much better than this!
