Left Alone at Home!

Hello to you all!

D&H here again.

We have had a strange day today.

We went out with Old Two Legs this morning for our normal walk across the fields. Holly managed to bruise her leg running across the field and was running on just three legs. OTL stopped and had a look for any damage or thorns in her pads but could not see anything at all. So, he picked her up and carried her on his shoulder for a while, she liked that!

That did not please me, being the Alpha Puppy in the house it is my position to get carried first or get brushed first or get the rawhide chew first.

Seeing  Holly up there on the OTL's shoulder wasn't good for my Top Dog position. OTL explained that Holly had a bad leg and I was to stop showing off! I suppose that I was a little 'hasty' and decided that as this was an emergency, I'd let her off this time!

After a while, OTL let Holly get down and she was walking on all four legs for most of the time .

When we got back, OTL and The Missus got all dressed up in smart clothes and OTL explained that they were going to say good bye to Grandma. She had gone to sleep and not bothered to wake up. We were to stay at home all day and be good girls until they got back.

After TM & OTL had gone, we crept up to the office and had a snooze in our day beds. Around midday Holly said she fancied a walk and what were we going to do without OTL? It was just at that moment we heard the front door open, so, rushing down stairs we expected OTL & TM to be there, it wasn't.

It was Auntie Sheila!

She said that she was taking us out and we were to be good puppies and not to run off, as if we would!

We got our double lead on and dashed out of the front door and were off to the farm. Auntie Shelia kept us on our leads but we didn't mind 'cos we played a game with her. She pretended to be Nanook of The North and we were her Husky Dogs pulling her all over the place!

She took us all over the fields and through the holiday camp and then down by the beach, it was great fun and she certainly can run fast!

As much as we love Auntie Sheila, it was good to see OTL & TM when they got back. OTL is going to take us out for a run over the woods tomorrow and on Sunday TM may come with us to the New Park.

We just love weekends!

See you soon.

Super Day!

Hi! It's Daisy & Holly here again!

We have had a Super Day today.

First of all we got Old Two Legs to get up early and get all his work done. It was a hard job, he doesn't like getting up before seven in the morning. Seven! That's half way through the day!

Still, he was a good OTL and when he'd finished we gave him a big cuddle just to reward his efforts!

A Cuddle with OTL
As he had finished early, we asked if we can go to the New Park again 'cos it is a Brilliant place to meet other dogs. OTL said that if we get off his lap, we can go. You should have seen the scramble to get off!

In the car on the way out of the village, we saw Buster from next door walking along the path, we woofed to him to let him know where we were going, all he said was 'Lucky Puppies'!

When we got to the car park we were both very excited  and ran around inside the car woofing, then we saw a load of dogs being loaded into another car that was next to us. So, we woofed even louder and started calling them names and saying we could run faster than them and we smelt better and our car was faster than theirs.

Then OTL opened our car door. We fell out onto the ground in a pile of fur and feet.

The dogs next door started to woof at us and said they were going to sort us out for being rude. (Holly started it!)

We didn't say a word, but crept around the back of OTL, so he was between us and the other dogs.

OTL said that we were all big and brave inside the car but wimps outside!

Off we ran, pausing only to turn around and blow raspberries at those other dogs, nah, nah, nah!

We said 'Hello' to a spaniel and shared a sniff with him, then we met a Westie and shared a sniff with him as well.

Yesterday we were playing 'Wolves & Indians', a really good 'Adventure Game', well, today we found the Indians home and camped in it, seeing if they came back for some lunch. OTL thought we looked funny, so he took a photo of us!

We see no Indians!
A little later we met up with a Welsh Springer Spaniel who thought it was fun to chase me all over the place shouting ' Com'on Boyo Faster Now!'

Holly ran up and told him not to be such a woofing bully, he said he only wanted to have some fun and was sorry he had scared me, then he went off to chase another dog!
Welsh Springer Spaniel
We got home, just in time for a spot of late lunch and a snooze before dinner!

After Lunch Snooze
Have we got it made or wot?

See you tomorrow.   D&H

Indians or Badgers?

Hi everyone!

Guess who's here?

Yes! Cor-r-r-rect!

It's Daisy & Holly back again!

The sunshine today made us feel really good. We went out this morning with Old Two Legs and had a great run across the fields. We saw loads of pigeons feeding on the cabbages in one of the fields. In the middle of the field was a dirty old oil drum standing on it's end.

Well, we were looking at this and all of a sudden the oil drum went BANG! and a big puff of smoke came out of it.

This not only made us jump but scared the pigeons as well, they all flew up to the top of the trees and stayed there complaining loudly about the noise and how they would get indigestion if it carried on!

That was sooo funny!

After OTL had done all his work we reminded him that he promised to take us to the New Park again. So, off we went in the car, singing songs, until we came to the New Park.

We got there and there were loads of dogs running around, we made friends with a gang of Yorky's, well that's what OTL called them.

'
The Yorkie Lads
I thought they were sweet and gentle and very well behaved puppies.

Unlike Holly who asked them if they would grow any more because they looked too small to be real dogs.
She can be so rude sometimes!

We went on a bit further, past 'The Guardians' and we found a sort of hole full of pine cones. Holly said they were for the squirrel's lunch time snack and they also were used by rabbits to play football with!

Pine Cones for the Squirrels
We met up with an old sheep dog, who, while sniffing a fence post, told us of the tale of the Mad Badgers Ghost that was often seen in the park after closing time.

We hid in the bird hide just in case it decided to get up early!

Watching for the Mad Badgers Ghost
After a while we decided it was too early to see the badger and went off playing Wolves & Indians. We pretended we were surrounded by hostile Indians and we had to woof them all away while hiding behind rocks.

OK, where's the Indians?
We have asked OTL if he will take us down there again tomorrow, Holly wants to try and find the Mad Badger, I just think she is mad to try.

I'd prefer to leave it where it is and enjoy the new sniffs we found!

See you tomorrow and a big woof to you all!

Sun Shiny Day

Hello to everyone out there!

D&H back again after a fun day.

Following yesterdays rain it was good to see the sun again, even if it was still soggy under paw!

The Missus took us out for a run first thing and it was great splashing through the puddles across the fields.

We went out with Old Two Legs at lunch time and had a run around the football field. Holly said it was great not to get her tummy wet running after me!

Holly on a Charge
We had a game of chase and I tried to develop a new 'Gotcha'. I call it 'The Shoulder Charge from Behind Manoeuvre' The move was going OK until Holly wrapped her tail around my neck and then sat on my head!

Shoulder Charge from Behind
That Puppy is getting too clever and she is speeding up as well, I have to run harder to get away nowadays!

Catch me if you can!
A little later in the day we went with TM in the car to collect The Boys from school. It was fun sitting outside the gates waiting for them and we saw some other dogs there as well.

While we waited we had a chat about our Two Leg owners and exchanged some ideas on 'Gotcha's' and location of good smells.

A big brown Labrador told us that he had seen some foxes around the corner but that was some time ago. We also exchanged some ideas with a Cocker Spaniel on burying Raw Hide to get a richer flavour when chewing but it involved covering the Raw Hide with apple tree leaves and we don't have them in our garden!

It was good to get back home and we were tired but happy puppies, a good day and OTL has promised to take us to the new park tomorrow if the sun shines, so, claws crossed for a sunny day!

See you all again soon,

Daisy & Holly

Puddle Puppies!

Hello World!
Daisy & Holly here again.
A BIG woofing hello to Valerie and welcome to our little blog!

I know it's still January and we are supposed to be getting frosts and wind and storms and stuff like that, but it seems to be getting warmer and wetter here in North Kent. Last night it poured down and this morning it was still going strong!

The Missus took us out for our morning walk but as soon as we got out the front door we decided that a run around the football pitch would be OK, just for this morning.

A little later in the day Old Two Legs took us out and he said a run across the fields would do us some good, so off we went.

First of all there was the puddles.

Puddle No. 1
Then we had a run across the field.

Speed Shifting across the Field!
Then we arrived at another puddle.

Puddle No. 2
We were getting a little wet by now but OTL did not seem to mind, he was striding through the puddles as well!

We were going around the back of the golf course and up the lane, well that was the idea, as we turned the corner, instead of a lane there was a river!

River Lane!
It was amazing, the water was coming off the fields and running towards the sea, along the lane.

Well, we had fun running up and down the river chasing the 'Foam Fairies' but every time we put our paw on them they sort of disappeared!

Chasing Foam Fairies!
As we went around the top of the field, we made a VID (Very Interesting Discovery).

Remember a little while ago we chased a big old Dog Fox across the field and lost him in the brambles, well, we were sniffing around the back of the brambles today and we found his front door!

Foxy's Front Door
Well, being part Fox Terrier, it seemed our duty to have a word with him, so we woofed and growled, and woofed again.

Any one home?
Then I stuck my head down the hole and called out to him, but there was no answer.

Maybe he was out down the road getting some shopping or collecting the kids from school!

Now we know where he lives, we can always call again, when he is in, and who knows, maybe next time we will meet him and even get a cup of tea and a chat by the fire!

You can imagine just how wet we were, drenched through to the skin but not freezing cold.

It was good to get home though and have a rub down with our towel and a brush, just in time for a bite to eat and a snooze before Tea Time.

See you again tomorrow, maybe the rain will stop for a while!

Bye bye from Daisy & Holly

A Special day for OTL

Hello to you all,

Special hello to Dougal and family, not heard from you for a week or so.

It was good to see The Boys again yesterday, even if they chased us all around the house!

We've had a fun day today, you see it is Old Two Legs birthday today. I am not sure how old he is but I think the word 'OLD' was invented just to describe him!

We both woke him up around six in the morning with a good licking behind his ears and plenty of woofs.

That job done we dragged him out of bed to go for a long run along the beach. Well, he sort of staggers manfully!

On the way we met a Schnauzer, a sort of German Terrier with whiskers, he looked all grumpy to begin with but was really quite funny! He said his name was Herman and he couldn't speak German!

Herman the Schnauzer.
Off we went again and enjoyed a little Beach combing, we were looking for pirate treasure and OLT was looking for a good photograph!

Beach combing for Pirate Treasure!
We hunted all along the beach, but all we could find was old rubbish thrown away by the Two Legs, plus a couple of whelk shells and a bit of dried sea weed and a dead crab!

OTL still was messing about with his camera but as we've told him in the past..........use a tripod!!

Allhallows Pill Box
You can't say he doesn't try!

We spent the rest of the day having gentle walks on the football field, snoozing and eating nibbles, including mugging OTL for some of his venison burger. Then there was the evening slurp of 'Happy Birthday Whisky' for OTL and some shortbread.

OTL does like his whisky, y'know he even got a 'Happy Birthday E-Mail' from a large whisky maker from the Isle of Islay!

He must be really important to get that!

Wot a show off!

I reckon it was a 'gentle' Sunday, the sort me an Holly like, oh yes, and we had loads of cuddles with OTL!

We decided that we like birthdays.Holly reckons we should have at least four a year and I couldn't agree more!

See you soon!

Saturday's Aventure with Old Two Legs

Hi All!

It's Daisy & Holly here and a big HELLO to the 'Allhallows Croppers'!

We just love the weekend, Old Two Legs gets to do all his chores early and we get to go on an all day adventure, providing it's not raining!

This Saturday The Missus is off to her 'Card Making Crop' in the village. This is where she half empties her craft room into the car and goes off all day only to come back with one card she's made!

Still, it keeps her quiet!

OTL would not tell us what he had planned for us, but after our morning walk over the fields and some breakfast,he then disappeared outside to wash his car. We kept an eye on him from the window, just to make sure he didn't escape!

When that was done he collected us and off we went in the car and we ended up at the Woods!
This time he took us in by another gate and we went through the woods exploring new smells.

New Smells or is it a Badger?
We met up with a small horse, no, only joking, it was an Irish Wolf Hound. Me and Holly soon worked out how to get on level terms with him, we just went up in the world!

Eye to Eye!
OTL said it must cost a fortune to feed him but his owner said 'No, just one child a week, lightly roasted, and some dog biscuits!'

Holly and I thought that was funny and joked about how we could eat two children just for breakfast!

We went through a new gate and soon we were in another part of the park, there were paths and a pond!
Holly and I dashed along the pier to look over the end but OTL called us back, just in case Holly fell in, as she normally does when she gets near water!

Stay away from the water Holly!
Soon we were in very new territory, so Holly suggested we keep a look out for those Greasy Badgers!

Badger Watch!
Then we were enjoying the open ground and soon forgot about Badgers, it was more fun chasing each other around!

Holly chasing me!
Well, we went for miles, and we were getting tired little puppies and on the way back we saw two very strange looking Two Legs standing either side of the path, except that we couldn't see their legs.

The Guardians
OTL called them 'The Guardians' and said they were there to keep all puppies under control and make sure they behaved themselves.'

Didn't work on us!

At one time I thought we were lost but Holly has been studying Orienteering and was able to read the map!

I know where we are!
Well, to cut a long story short, we got lost. We followed Holly and ended up totally lost, I mean, like really lost!

It was a good job OTL recognised the seat we were sitting on or we'd still be looking for the way home!

This way or that way?
We were glad to get home, our dinner was waiting and we were getting a little peckish!

See you tomorrow.

Bye bye from Daisy & Holly.

A Busy Day Today

Hi Woofers!

We're back again.

You know, Old Two Legs has been telling us what a good life we lead..........really?

In fact he said we live a 'Right Dogs Life'................so? We're dogs aren't we?

I must admit, we do have a hard time keeping up the punishing schedule all through the day.

After a hard night of sleeping and woofing at the cats going past we struggle out of bed to greet Old Two Legs and The Missus. Then it's a quick run around the garden to check that all is OK, have a wee and back for a snooze before a light breakfast. Off up to OTL, just to make sure he has got up, then a quick 'After Wake Up Snooze' before going out for our morning run.

Back for a rub down and a good brush up by OTL before second breakfast, after which we go to our 'Day Bed' in the office for our  'After Breakfast Snooze'. A little later we wake and have a wander around the house, just to check TM is OK and no Badgers have crept in while we were snoozing.

Lunch time is here, so, a little lunch and a chance to mug OTL and TM for what they are eating before going out for our midday stroll around the football field. Back we come for any nibbles that are left and just in time for our 'Early Afternoon Snoozett'.

If we are lucky, around now is when we get to go for our daily 'Adventure', you know, charging around the Forest or over the Farm or down by the Riverside. Of course, on the way home we have another snooze, just to relax us after all that effort.

OTL wakes us up around 4pm so we can go with him to the post and the carriers. We enjoy the trip down there but get tired of woofing at all the people and dogs as we pass them. So we have a gentle snooze on the way back home.

When we get home, it's a quick rush around the house and garden to see if the Badgers have left any meat pies laying around before jumping onto the sofa for a 'Pre Dinner Snooze', waking only to try some mugging when OTL & TM sit down for their dinner.

After eating our dinner we settle down for an evening snooze to let our meal go down, then it's a run around the garden before going to bed.

Now, is that not a hard days work for little puppies like us?

A dogs life indeed, he doesn't know what a dogs life is, it's just go, go,go all day long!

Kissy Kissy,

Daisy & Holly

A day in the life of a hard working puppy!

Hi Woofers!

We're back!

We got taken out his morning by The Missus for a run over the fields. It must have poured down last night 'cos the puddles were almost as deep as our ankles!

It was fun splashing about and chasing each other around the edges. You see, the edges are all deep mud and soggy grass and we end up with muddy leg, but, afterwards, we run through the puddles again and wash off the mud!

When we have muddy paws it's like we got boots on and after a quick splash, our boots are gone!

Now I was getting a little warm after all this running and stopped for a quick drink from a clean looking puddle. Lap, lap I went, then I heard a tinkling sound behind me, sort of like you get when the tap is dribbling into the washing bowl.

I didn't think too much about it and after a couple of more laps, I turned around to see where the noise was coming from.

In the middle of the puddle was the hairy bottom of Holly, having a wee!

I mean, that girl's got no sense of timing, at least she could have waited for me to finish first!

That's the last time I have a drink without checking where she is first!

Later in the day we went out with OTL to the carriers and then off for an Adventure, to the Riverside Park!

We love this place, there is the smell of the river and the sea plus we get to meet loads of other dogs out for a run.

Today we met this massively large Alsatian, in fact it was as large as a Shetland Pony, I mean HUGE!

He had on one of those head leads, you know, the ones that clamp your mouth shut if you pull on the lead. I suppose they are to stop you biting everyone, he looked very fierce.

Well, we saw him on the path and as we got closer, he lay down as though he wanted a game and did not move as we got closer. Holly got to him first and sniffed his nose then she went down the side and sniffed his tail.

At this point she must have touched his tail with her nose 'cos up he jumps, like he's been bitten, by Holly!

Then he starts to whimper like a big girl, he was scared of us!

He obviously doesn't get out much, poor lad, so we were very polite little girls and said we were glad to see him and maybe next time we could have a game with him!

Then we said good bye and went roaring off down the path woofing at the rabbits and the birds!

Another fun day with OTL!

Bye bye for now.

A visit to The Boys

A Big Woofing Hello to you all again,

Daisy & Holly here to tell you what we did yesterday.

During the night we had a bit of a game. You see we had slept so much in the evening, come bed time, we couldn't get off to sleep. So, a game of 'Throw The Toy' was in order.

We both tossed the hard chew up in the air and it was banging on the cupboards and the door when it landed. I suppose that we also made a little noise chasing after it when it landed. After a short while Old Two Legs came and told us off, we pretended to be pleased to see him so he shouldn't bark so much at us!

He took our toys away and put us to bed then said that if we made any more noise he would come back and take our tails away and then we'd never be happy again.

The Missus told us that we were going to see The Boys!

We left OTL messing about in the office, getting in a real big mess!

Off we went to pick The Boys from school, there were loads of Mummy Two Legs standing around the gate waiting for everyone to come out of the doors! We saw The Boys and jumped up and down till they got to us. We then were able to give them a good licking, from ear to ear and ear to ear!

We went home and they showed us some television games they got for Christmas, there were loads of bangs and stuff, and if there are bangs then they must be good Holly says!

Coming home to OTL was good, we ran from the car and jumped all over him and he got licked from ear to ear as well!

He must have been glad to see us as well 'cos we got a doggy sausage each!

I must say, he has made a good job of the office, here is a picture of the new office, smart or what? Y'know, he even got the vacuum cleaner out, that doesn't happen very often!

OTL's new office
We reckon it looks dead smart,so does The Missus, she wants to move all her card making stuff in there and OTL has told her what she can do with that idea!

Just think of it, more bits of card all over the floor and sparkle stuff, and glue and peel offs and other horrible tasting things! Yuk! No Thanks!

We like the new office and we have our day beds in there and our toys as well. Where would we keep them all if TM moved in?

See you tomorrow, keep woofing, it keeps the cats away!

Luv Daisy & Holly
