Back to the forest again!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back to see you again.

We have had a busy day today, Old Two Legs has been rushing around getting his work done so we can go on holiday on Saturday. He has been building stuff and making things and getting in one mighty panic 'cos stuff that supposed to arrive, didn't!

We have been down to the carriers twice with loads of gear and also we've been to The Farm twice!

The first time was just after we dropped The Missus off to have a shampoo and set and have her hair clipped. Why is it she can get an appointment in three days yet we have to wait over a month?

After dropping her off, we went onto the garage to fill up with fuel, then around the corner to The Farm.

I was a little worried about the place to begin with but Holly woofing and running up and down the path soon got me in the mood for some fun and games.

Off we went into the forest and I must admit I did go tearing off into the trees!

OTL blew the whistle, just to remind me that I should not go too far, which was OK by me as I don't want to have another scare like last time!

Back to the Forest Again!

We had a sniff around to see if there were any foxes about and while we were doing that, OTL got a call from TM to come and pick her up again!

That hour went very quickly!

Later in the day we had a longer run in the forest again and OTL took us deep into the trees where I am sure we found a fox hole, it was big but not as big as a Badgers Set, but certainly big enough for a fox.

We'll have to keep an eye on that hole in future!

We had a super dinner today, chicken, then afterwards we mugged OTL and TM for some sausages and  to complete the day, OTL gave us a good brush before we went off for our snoozett before going to bed!

Tomorrow, we have to get our bags packed , that should be fun, Holly can't remember where she left the bone!

See you tomorrow,

Little Dog Lost in the Forest!

Hi Everyone!

D&H back again with another 'Adventure'!

We went out with Old Two Legs on his 'deliveries' this morning and on the motorway we saw  the result of an accident, a traffic jam that must have been three miles long!

OTL, said that we weren't coming back that way so we couldn't go to the New Park like he promised.

He did say that we could visit The Farm for a run, so we weren't too disappointed!

We got there and started walking down the chalk path, having a sniff at all the new smells.

The Chalk Path

Then we went inside the forest to see what they have been doing with the trees and bushes.

What have they done to the Forest?
Then OTL started taking some photo's of the flowers and getting all 'Artistic'.

The Old Tree
Well, just at that moment I saw a Pheasant strutting through the undergrowth!

That was it, I was off like a flash, Howling and shouting the War Cry and going like wind!

The Pheasant burst through the trees and into the field of green stuff that was a little taller than me!

I didn't care, on I went chasing the Pheasant that seemed to just disappear in front of me into the green stuff.

That's clever I thought, I wish I could do that!

Then I turned around and didn't see Holly, and I didn't see OTL, in fact, I saw no one!

I listened and in the distance I heard the doggy whistle that OTL blows when I'm out of his sight. I started to go in the direction of the whistle, but it seemed to move all the time and I could not work out the direction it was going.

Mmm, I thought, they must be going home to tell The Missus they have lost me and that Holly can have all my dinner tonight!

Now I've been for a walk on The Farm a number of times and although I don't know all of it, I do know where OTL parks the car! So, off I went like a speeding Pheasant, down the road side until I came to OTL's car, it was still there!

Trouble was, OTL wasn't there, nor was Holly!

Next to our car was a man, sitting in his car, reading a paper. So I jumped up and scratched at his door, he looked out of the window and then opened his door.

I was in like a flash and tried to tell him I had lost OTL and Holly and that she would get all my dinner and I'd never get my belly brushed again if I didn't find OTL and I was really worried The Missus might forget me!

He didn't seem to understand what I was saying.

He took a look at my collar where OTL had put a tag with my name on it, 'Hello Daisy' he said. Then he turned it over and saw that OTL had put both our home telephone and OTL's mobile phone number.

He called OTL with his telephone and within a short time, down the road came Holly and OTL, boy was I glad to see them both!

OTL thought that it was a good thing that I remembered where the car was parked and he gave me a cuddle just to show how pleased he was to see me.

Then he told Holly that she couldn't have my dinner tonight after all!

Wot a cheek!

I bet she even had plans on my bed as well!

I was glad to get back home and tell TM all about it and I promised not to go running off again.

Well, I'll try very hard not to!

See you tomorrow.

Haircut and a Bath put off for a whole month!

Hello All,

The Princesses Daisy and Holly are back among you again!

We've had a funny old day today, first of all there was Old Two Legs going potty in the office trying to get all the paperwork sorted and stuff manufactured and ready to dispatch.

Plus all the stuff that comes in, only to be repacked and shipped out again!

We went out with him delivering and visiting the accountant and we were expecting a good run in the New Park!

No such luck, OTL was ducking and diving all over the place and we ended up down at the Riverside Park.

That was OK, not as long as a visit to the New Park, but we got to run about and chase a seagull or two!

While we were out OTL tried to get us booked in for a hair cut and bath as we have not had one since December last year and we are getting a little 'Hairy'!

Well, when he telephoned and the earliest they would do it was the 10th June!

OTL tried all the 'Old Charm' then he tried the 'They can't see where they are going' tale, then there was the 'But we are such good customers' but none of it worked. We are still going on 10th June!

One of the down sides of leaving the hair cut bit so late is that we need more brushing to keep the knots out of our fur, so we get the normal brush in the morning and now, we're getting a much longer brush in the evening.

The brush in the evening is much better, you see OTL has a little more time to spend gently getting all the knots out and we, full of dinner, just lay back and enjoy being pampered!

I mean, you don't know what luxury is until you've had your belly brushed with a smooth brush!

Holly normally gets done first because she is down with OTL trying to mug some shortbread and I'm upstairs on the bed having a pre night time snoozett!

Holly says that when OTL has brushed her, she feels just like a 'Princess', all brushed and the bits of 'garden' removed from her 'important places'!

I know what she means, I feel super clean and ready for bed after he has finished and my fur feels silky smooth!

So, us two little Princesses are off to bed early  'cos we got lots more to do tomorrow and we hope to get to the New Park as well! All before lunch time and in the afternoon, we going over to see The Boys 'cos The Missus has got to do her Baby Sitting, Ooops! No, it's 'Child Minding', duties!

Nearly got caught out there!

Bye Bye for now you Woofers,

See you tomorrow!

Float like a Butterfly!

Hello All,

It's Daisy & (Princess) Holly back again!

Ever since Holly started to believe she is a real Princess, having had her 'Official' portrait taken yesterday, she has been swanning around and saying things like, 'Brush my Tail Wench' or 'If you don't bow down I'll have you locked in the Tower'.

That puppy is getting a little above herself!

I did point out that as I was her sister, that means I'm also a Princess, but she didn't take any notice!

That was in the morning, by the time lunch arrived she had forgotten all that and was more interested in stealing my bone and burying it in the garden, ho hum, back to normal again!

We had both Old Two Legs and The Missus take us out for the midday walk. We went down to The Farm and had a glorious walk. The sun was shinning and the wind was blowing but it was just wonderful. We even explored a new path but got fed up after a short while 'cos we ran out of trees to run through!

No Trees!
OTL saw some butterflies and took a picture.

This one is an Orange Tip, (wonder why?)

Orange Tip
This is an old favourite, Green-veined White!

Green-veined White
We spotted a very rare sight, it was the..............
Orange Jacket TM
The only problem with the Orange Jacket TM, it could not fly!

On our way back we kept our eyes open for the Old Dog Fox that we sometimes see, and there, in the margins of the field and just under the trees we saw the vixen. She looked in fine condition and OTL said we couldn't go and chase her because she was bigger that both of us put together!

Old Foxy!
Holly thought that was a sensible thing to do,so we let old foxy alone

On the way back home we were all singing songs about Foxes and The Orange Jacket TM chasing butterflies!

No, TM still can't sing in tune!

OTL is getting worse, he keeps forgetting the words and just adds 'woof' or sometimes 'woofy woof, woof'!

Home to chicken dinner and a chew on the bone!

See you tomorrow,

Luv

Hothfield Common Bog Swimming Contest!

Hello all you Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with you again.

Have we had some fun today! Old Two Legs decided he wanted to photograph some more Bluebells before they turned this year, so, he was on the computer trying to find places where there was a combination of, Bluebells, open to public, (common land), dogs allowed (very important), not too far away and with car parking close.

Not bad for a list?

Well, clever old stick that he is, he decided to visit Hothfield Common, near to Ashford in Kent.

Off we set with all the necessary stuff, water, dog nibbles, dog bed, rawhide chew, dog lead and whatever he needed!

We arrived at the most wonderful bit of heathland we had ever seen, well, we haven't seen any heathland really but we were certainly impressed with this bit!

First of all we discovered that there are giant rabbits living on the common.

I don't fancy meeting this rabbit!
That rabbit hole was enormous, in fact to begin with, we thought it was a Badger's set, (home) but a quick sniff told us it was rabbit!

OTL's Bluebells.
We got dragged into the wooded part to get some pictures of Bluebells. It was a bit boring, so we ran off and played chase for a while.

There was one time that no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't find Holly. That was until I heard a load of giggling above me, and there, standing on a big branch, high above my head, was that Porkie Puppy!

Holly in the sky!
I am sure that she has monkey blood running in her veins!

Holly had spotted a tree that she called a 'Throne', so she got OTL to take her 'Official Portrait'....she said that OTL calls her a 'Princess' when he brushes her in the mornings, so why not have a 'Princess's Portrait' .......wot a show off!

Princess Holly (Official Portrait)
After that we went for a walk looking for other interesting things, OTL was looking for Nightjar birds that sleep during the day and hunt at night.

We went looking for water and boggy bits!

Start of the Boggy Bits!
We found the Boggy Bits but OTL never found the Nightjar!

Having found the Boggy Bits, what's a puppy supposed to do? That's right, we jumped in!

After we came out we were a little,  muddy, we also smelt a little Boggy!

Well something smells Boggy!
We tried running around to get dry but it didn't seem to work very well, we still remained smelly and black bog up to our tummies!

Does my Bum look Black on this?
It took OTL a little while to get us into a fit state to go home, can you imagine what The Missus would say if we walked in all wet and smelly?

Holly and me have got that place marked down for a return visit. That is some seriously good common for running and chasing and who knows, OTL may still see his Nightjar yet!

See you tomorrow!

Another Sunny Dog Day

Hi All,

D&H back again!

We hope you're enjoying the couple of days off extra this weekend, we certainly are! Yesterday it was the woods and today?

Well first of all we got fed DOG FOOD from a tin! Yueck and DOUBLE YUECK, it was worse than Yuk Yuk!

The Missus seems not to have got the message, we have a sophisticated dietary taste  and require special foods, like chicken, liver, steak (Fillet), lamb (minced with a hint of Rosemary) a carrot, freshly dug and washed in a mountain stream to gently remove any clinging soil.

What do we get?

Stewed Tripe in rancid chicken dripping, ruined by the addition of sausage rusk disguised as 'Added Vitamins' and a flavour that is not know to man or beast!

Any more of this and we are going on strike again!

Old Two Legs must have heard me having a little grumble about the food or lack of it, so when we got home from our midday walk, he got out the second pig bone!

Now, at this point in the tale I must explain something.

Holly is a 'Porkie Puppy' and she gets like that by being the first at the food bowl and also at any of the treats we get. You know, the Raw Hide or the Pigs Ear or Chicken Strips. I'm more of the 'Refined' puppy who would not bully anyone out of their food, (except OTL!) and takes her time to savour the delicate smell of a well matured liver cooked in red wine sauce!

Holly on the other hand is a 'Tails up, Snout in, and don't come up for air' type of eater, more 'Dog' than dog, if you know what I mean!

The last time we got a Pig Bone, Holly didn't let me near it at all while it was tasty, all I got was the well chewed scrag end of a seriously reduced Pig Bone!

Today, OTL came up trumps for me! He got the bone out of the cupboard and marched me into the garden, with Holly trying to push me out of the way. OTL gave me the bone and held Holly back by her collar, (she was not happy about that).

Then he picked Holly up and carried her back inside!

Well, Christmas, Birthday and Summer Holidays had come all at once and twice this year!

I settled down to do some serious damage to that bone, It was 'Grrreat'!

Mine! All Mine!
I was out on the grass giving it some wellie and Holly was inside complaining to TM & OTL!

It made a really good treat to be able to get the 'Doggy Treat' all to myself for a change and not keep looking over my shoulder all the time, worried if Holly was going to take an interest!

After about fifteen minutes OTL let Holly into the garden and she rushed over to grab the bone, however, I really liked that bone, so I told her off!

GRRRrrrr!

She sat down next to me and looked with sad eyes at me,'Gissa Lick?' she said.

Gissa Lick?
 I grumbled.

Come on, just a little lick and I promise I'll stay here while I do it?

Just a little Lick?
I grumbled again.

Holly put her nose down onto her paws and looked at me, well, she looked so sad that I let her have the piece I broke off earlier and was hiding under my paw. 'Thanks' she said and commenced to have a gnaw!

Thanks Mate!
We carried on like that for a while until I got full up with the bone and decided to go indoors for a drink and a lay down on the Day Bed.

Holly carried on having a gnaw for a while before coming inside as well, I mean, a bone is OK but it can get hot in the garden and anyway, a bone matures if you leave it out in the fresh air for a while, better still if you bury it in the flower bed, the one TM has just planted with the bedding plants that cost her a fortune!

We have to bury it late when we go out for our last wee of the night before bed, trouble is, after we have dug the hole, we are covered in muddy soil and OTL tends to notice things like this!

I'll have to think a serious 'Think' on what to do!

See you tomorrow!

Daisy & Holly

Blean Woods and Stodmarsh and making a noise in a bird hide!

Yo Ho Woofers!

Daisy & holly here again with some more 'Adventures'!

Old Two Legs and us got thrown out of the house 'cos The Missus wanted to have the place to herself to watch 'The Wedding'!

We didn't mind, 'cos that just means we can go off for a long adventure with OTL.

First of all we went to a new place called Blean Woods, it was absolutely fabulous!

Running in Blean Wood
We were able to run off and hide from OTL then we would come crashing through the trees to make him jump!

We were chasing each other around trees and under the trunks of those trees that have fallen over!

Obstacle Course!
There was loads of space and OTL could photograph the Bluebells and the Wood Ants!

Don't ask me, I don't know why he wants photographs of Wood Ants, big fella's they were as well!

Pretty Bluebells.
Big Wood Ants!
We didn't hang about around the ants nest too long, they look like they could drag you into their nest and leave nothing but your collar!

When we got back tot he car, we had a drink and a snack and a little snoozett before we went onto Stodmarsh!

Lunch Break & a snoozett!

When we got to Stodmarsh, Holly pretended she was going to jump into the stream by the sluice gate, poor OTL got all worried and started jumping up and down and shouting No NO NOOO!

Shall I jump?
Of course, she didn't jump, but Holly does like to wind up OTL!

I went into the water, but only up to my knees, it was nice and cool on my legs and they dried off after a little run along the path.

A paddle for Daisy
OTL took us into a bird hide that was empty of people, so we ran around, woofed and jumped up onto the seats and generally had a rough and tumble without anyone looking down their noses and going shhhh!

Fun in the hide!
OTL took a picture of a butterfly, we think it is a Green Veined White, but we are not totally 100% sure, it could be several others 'cos we couldn't get our wing pattern and spots to match any other butterfly pictures we have, also the veins looked black instead of green. So, if anyone out there knows what it is for sure, please let us know!

Green Veined White?
If you double click on the picture you can see the detail, the antennae look super, all sort of stripes all the way up.

We are off to bed early tonoght 'cos we are tired little puppies and OTL has promised to take us out tomorrow as well!

Bye bye for now, we've got to go Granny Sitting tonight.

It's a bit like baby sitting but the Granny snores a lot and makes rude noises, well TM certainly does!

Another visit to The Farm

Hi Every One!

We're back again!

We've been told off by The Missus today for telling everyone that she goes baby sitting the grand children, seems like The Boys may not like being sat upon, or summat like that!

So, now we must refer TM visits to The Boys as 'Child Minding'!

Not that we care about being 'PC', we just object to an attempt by TM to censor this daily dose of fun.

It's a good job Old Two Legs stands up for us, that's why he gets a cuddle in the morning!

Our Hero!

He also takes us out for 'Adventures', like today, we went down to The Farm and had a super run around, we met a new dog while we were there.

Called 'Paddy', she's a cross between a poodle and a cocker spaniel, full of fun and all she wanted to do was to play 'chase'.

Hello Paddy!
She chased us all over the place, up the path and down across the fields. She was fast on the straight but not so good at turning. Holly got rolled a couple of times and Paddy caught me as well. You know, I even had to give Paddy a nip on the nose to get her to play gently.

That lasted for all of five seconds!

A Nip on the nose type pause!
We were glad when we went one way and Paddy and her owner went the other way, at least we could get back to sniffin, weein an' woofin!

We explored the woods and went looking for Foxes but only found their scent and that was a couple of days old!

Sniffin for a Fox
As we were going along the wooded path, we heard a knocking sound like someone was banging a stick on a tree trunk, OTL said it was a 'Great Spot' and Holly laughed and said that when she got a spot it may have hurt like that but it never sounded like that!

Listening for a Great Spot!
OTL thought that was funny and called her a 'Potty Puppy', the he explained that it was a woodpecker called a Great Spotted Woodpecker and it had a big red spot behind it's head and it looked great!

Holly said that she could understand why the bird was banging it head on a tree and she would be the same if she had a big spot on the back of her head!

We all looked for the bird but it was hidden in the leaves and behind the trees!

On Friday, we may go out to do some more bird watching 'cos TM wants to sit in front of the television, watching the 'Wedding'. She said she wanted no interruptions, woofing or making a mess with the carrots!

I suppose that means TM will be sitting there all on her own, all day, looking after herself.

Could that be called 'Granny Sitting'? Are we allowed to say that? Do we care?

Down with censorship, with a big Raspberry!!

Bye Bye for now, see you tomorrow,

Luv

We've been playing in the sand!

Hello All,

It's Daisy & Holly back again.

We've had another hard day helping Old Two Legs with his paper work, Holly was looking after the 'in' pile of papers!

Busy Doing Nothing!

You know how we like to get a bit 'mucky' sometimes and how Old Two Legs calls us 'Mucky Puppies'?

Well, we've done it again!

At midday, we got to go out with OTL for a walk and missed going with The Missus to baby sit The Boys.

We were having so much fun and stayed so long that TM went without us!

We got down to the Sea Defence wall and found that the tide was right out, in fact it was so far out that it had turned and was coming back 'cos it got lost!

On it's way out, the tide had left loads of muddy pools and sandy bits with smelly mud at the bottom.

Just the sort of thing we love to run on and investigate, so we did!

Mucky Puppies in the Making!

We also ran along the sea wall and jumped onto the beach to rummage around in the sea shells for pirate gold, but we didn't find any, just smelly sea weed and the odd plastic bottle!

We tried to get dry and brush the mud off but it did not seem to work!

Still Mucky Puppies!
In the end we gave up and were told that we had to have a bath or at least a good brush when we got home!

We found the bench where someone had left their lunch in a plastic bag the last time we came down here. I think they must have come back for it 'cos although we had a good sniff around the bench, there was no sign of lunch!

No sign of the Lunch Bag!

When TM comes back tonight she has promised us chicken for dinner!

Until then we've got to put up with this new chewy biscuit thing that's supposed to be good for our teeth and tums.

It tastes like balls of sawdust with some sort of flavour! Yuck! But when there's nothing else, what is a dog to do?

By the way, we got a good brushing when we dried off, and, as OTL was brushing us there were clouds of dust all around us!

It took three goes at brushing us and now we look OK and we still got the smell of the sea on us, that's Daisy, Holly And OTL!

I wonder if we should offer to give OTL a brush?

See you tomorrow.

A walk in the New Park

Hello fellow Woofers!

D&H back again!

As you know, we were 'On Patrol' last night, being as it was our first night back since our Easter Break.

We both had a good sniff around to make sure no one had moved into the house while we were away.

All night we were both wide awake and looking for any Foxes or Greasy Badgers who tried to sneak into the house at night.

It was a hard night, several times we thought we heard a snuffling noise outside, so we woofed our special woof that got Old Two Legs out of bed and he let us investigate the garden for intruders, first at two in the morning, then three and finally at five in the morning.

OTL looked tired today.

We went out with OTL to do some deliveries and collect some stuff, then we went to the New Park!

Great fun it was, running all over the place.

First of all we stopped at the Not Not Neddies.

Hello Not Not Neddies!
As normal, they still were bad tempered, so we gave them a woof or two!

OTL tried photographing a flower, as soon as he settled down to take the picture, we rushed up to sniff and when we did that the flower exploded and all the seeds went away with the wind!

An exploding flower!
I found some clover and had a lay down, just to say that I was 'Rolling in Clover', OTL thought that was funny but Holly did not get the joke!

A Daisy in Clover!
While I was in the clover young Charley stopped for a sniff and chase, we had met him before and he was so excited to see us again. I think he has a soft spot for Holly!

Hello Charley Lad, how's tricks?
We went past the cattle who were having a rest by the fence, just sort of watching the world go by and talking about the Kent County Show where they hope to be exhibited.

We went up to the fence and woofed at them!

One turned his head and in a rather bored voice said ' Do you think you are the first or the biggest pair of doggies to try to wake us'?

  MOO OFF!

No response today!

So we did!

OTL has asked that we leave him alone tonight and if we find any strange noises while we are 'On Patrol', he has told us we should call The Missus and tell her all about it and she will sort it all out!

Now, TM in the middle of the night being told about a noise outside in the garden?

We think that is a little too scary for us!

Have a good night and we will see you all tomorrow!

Bye bye!
