Tired Puppies Today!

Hi Woofers,

It's us again! However, I wouldn't say we were the most active puppies around!

After the last two days spent at the Kent County Show, we have missed out on a lot of sleep, so today we are making up for it. Holly and I had to be woken up this morning by Old Two Legs and The Missus!

We were both zonked out, in our beds, having dreams about the show.

When we finally woke up enough to talk, I told Holly that I had dreamt we were at the show, running around with the flock of sheep, chasing the Not Not Neddies so that they jumped over the fences that the horses were jumping over earlier.

All the sheep were woofing and the Not Not's were quacking like ducks!

Holly said she dreamt she was in charge of the Venison Burger Stand and was cooking loads of burgers for everyone, she was so busy she didn't even have time to eat one herself and a big Stag was standing by the till shouting out to her, cook more, More MORE!

Holly said it was not so much a dream but rather a nightmare!

Lunch time we were still so tired we didn't even have much of our lunch, (liver & biscuits), but we did have a chase after the ball that OTL threw when we went for a walk around the football field.

Later on we went down to the New Park, we were both feeling a little less tired, but not too energetic, so we chased the ball and when we got to the swimming hole I decided to go in for some 'Deep Paddling' rather than swimming.

Me doing 'Deep Paddling'
It was while I was doing this that OTL tossed the ball in for me to fetch, however, as Holly an' me had Mullered it on the way down, it sank!

So, taking a deep breath, I ducked under the water and got it back!

I can see it!

Then I said....

Got it!
We ran off into the grass to get dry and after all that, we lost the ball. It sort of fell into two halves and Holly had one half that she put down when she found a good sniff and I put my half down to help her find her half and couldn't remember where I had left it!

So we declared it as 'Gone' and we will have to get OTL to get another one for us to play with.

Hello Scruffy!
On the way back to the car, we bumped into Scruffy, Holly said 'hello' and they had a game of chase for a short while, then his master called him and he had to go.

On the way home we both fell asleep on the front seat of the car, we were still worn out from the show.

We hear that OTL has got some Hot & Spicy Venison Sausages tonight, so we're looking forward to mugging him for a nibble, or two!

I wish the sun would come back, then we can have a play in the paddling pool in the garden.

Holly wanted to buy a plastic duck for the pool but we couldn't find a stand that sold them.

We're going to have an early night tonight, OTL says he is going to have one as well, after he has tasted a drop of the malt whisky he still has in the decanter!

Bye bye for now.

Daisy & Holly

Sunday at The Show

Hello Woofers,

It's us back again.

Today we have been to the Kent County Show again with Old Two Legs and The Missus.

It was fun parking the car 'cos there were loads of men in yellow waist coats waving their arms about directing OTL to where he should park, of course we joined in and woofed at every one of those men and they were laughing at us, especially when Holly tried to steer the car and woof at the same time!

We went in and said hello to the Reindeer who said they were getting fed up with the visitors looking at them and trying to stroke their noses. Holly said she knew all about sore noses!

Next stop was the Main Ring where there were some horses chasing around trying to jump fences and knock the poles off.

On a Charge!
We did our cheering bit every time a pole went down but they didn't seem to appreciate it!

So, off we went to the horse drawn carriage competition. We picked the best one there and said it was the most useful, a machine for scraping up horse poo!

A Horse Drawn Horse Poo Scraping Machine!
The next ring we went to had small horses pulling carts around at a very high speed. Holly and me were seriously impressed with that!

Charging for Home!
It was super to see how the horses seemed always to keep in step with each other, it must take loads of practice.

In step with each other!
Holly and me tried that as we dragged The Missus and OTL off towards the Bambi Burger Stand, left right, left right, wiggle tail, left right, left right!

After lunch we went back to the big ring and TM went off shopping with OTLs wallet!

We saw four packs of fox hounds running around the ring together. They looked super fit and they were lead by a Whipper In. He is the one in charge of the pack, just like OTL!

A Whipper In doing his whipping in bit!
It was wonderful to see so many dogs together at one time and they all set off for a run around the ring, just to show off!

Off for a pretend fox hunt.
After that the Whipper In's rode down the field blowing their special type of whistle, OTL said it was a Hunting Horn, I said that I had seen deer with horns and they looked much bigger that those and anyway they sound more like a Raspberry!

No whistle, just a raspberry!
It was just after we left the ring that the rain came down, so we rushed into the Flower Tent. Now, OTL suffers from Hay Fever, and if it's not grass then it's flowers that set him off sneezing. So why does he want to wander around the flower hall?

Looking down a flowers throat!
He took some pictures of the flowers and managed to get out again before he started to sneeze!

Pretty Red Flower
When we looked outside again it was still raining!

Getting wetter!
So we went back inside and had a sit down, which was not all bad, you see, we had not had our 'After get up snooze' nor had we had our 'Mid morning snooze' and we missed out on our 'Lunch time snooze' plus our 'After lunch snooze' was missed as well. So we felt like a couple of tired little puppies and OTL said that we should head off for home before the serious rain started, which was OK by us!

Tired Little Puppies!
We got home in time for dinner, followed by a sooze before heading off to bed!

Bye bye for now and se you tomorrow!

A Day at The Show

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here again.

Today we went to the Kent County Show, an amazing place, full of animals doing strange things.

There were horses jumping over fence things to see how many of the bars they could knock off. Some just completely missed the bars, but we cheered the ones that managed to knock a bar or two off!

Posing in the rain!
Then there were the ones who reckoned they looked good and stood there all posing and saying 'Look at me, I'm pretty'.

Trouble was, they were getting soaking wet and all they got was a paper rosette! Pretty stupid we thought!

We went into the shed where they were doing the same with the cattle, only in here it was at least dry!

In here they were saying ' Look at me I can produce milk with a high fat content and I can produce loads each day' Which again Holly and me thought a bit silly. Instead, we were judging them by how many steaks or mince pies you could get out of one cow and also how many bones you could chew on!

Milk, Steak & Meat Pie by the Kilo!
By then Holly and me were getting a little peckish, so we took Old Two Legs off to the stand we smelt on the way in, and got him to buy a couple of Wild Venison burgers, one for him and one for us. Of course, he had to spoil it by asking for 'A Couple of Bambi Burgers' which had the whole queue in an uproar.

So, the man served OTL first just to get rid of us!

After that we went to watch some gun dog training but the noise of the pretend guns going 'Bang' upset Holly, so we left them to it and decided to go and see the sheep.

Now normally when we see sheep, Holly and me go all 'Woofy' and want to chase them all over the place, but this time they were in sheep pens and couldn't go anywhere and OTL kept a close hold on our lead and told us 'NO' if we barked.

He said we had to learn how to behave with sheep and they are very nice animals really.

So we said 'Hello'.

Hello Mint Sauce!
The first one we said hello to told us her name was 'Mint Sauce' and she was the 'Family Pet' really and came to the shows just to please her owners!

Donner & Kebab
The next pen we met Kebab and Donner, they didn't have a lot to say but asked how we were enjoying the show and did we know who won the 'Black Face Sheep' contest. As we didn't know they then started to ask how the cattle judging was going 'cos they had a friend entering that section, Big Dave was his name. We said we hadn't seen him yet but wished them well.

Can you take me home with you?
Next we met up with Billie de Lambs-Wool, who said she had come a long way to be here for the show and how she expected to win her class 'cos she had a pretty face. Holly told her about our day so far and how much fun we have every day and Billie asked if she could come home with us but Holly said there would not be enough room in the car for all of us, but if ever she was passing please do drop in.

Around the next corner we came across the Not Not Neddies!

We recognised them straight away by their snooty look and also the smell. Holly had a good laugh and woofed 'Hello Not Not's'. That upset them and they whistled and stamped their feet and tried to tell us off.

Holly laughed even more and I said who was the daft ones, we could walk all over the show but they had to stay in the pen!

We did't stay too long because we wanted to see the Goats, but when we got there, OTL saw a notice that said doggies were not allowed in the tent.

Holly said it was because if they saw us they might 'Get the Goat' and show off, which OTL and I thought was funny!

It was about then that the rain started to come down, so we decided to go home, have a dry off, a snooze, a bit of chicken and get an early night 'cos we were coming back tomorrow!

So, we are off to bed now, bye bye for now and see you tomorrow.

Daisy & Holly

He left us alone with The Missus!

Hello Woofers,

Daisy & Holly here.

We wish to register a complaint with whoever we can. First of all, Old Two Legs didn't give us a brush this morning. Second, he went off with his camera stuff and left us alone ALL DAY LONG!

We only had TM to look after us, and it was just not the same, no adventures, no New Park, no swimming, no chasing balls.

Where did he go? Kent County Show!

He took loads of pictures of horses and stuff, feasted on Bambi Burgers and Pear Juice and played with his camera!

Easy!!

On a Mission!

Over that one!

Then he even had a snooze in the car before going over to see The Boys and take pictures of Tom going out on a spree with his mates, all dressed up in Dinner Suit and Cummerbund!

OTL says Tom looked dead smart and so did his mates, and they all climbed into the Stretched Hummer Limo.

Skools out for Summer!

On The Road Again!
Still, as TM is off tomorrow to her carding making, cropy thingy wottsit, we are going with OTL to the Kent County Show to eat Bambi Burgers and stuff, OR ELSE!

So, now we have that sorted out, we're off to bed!

Bye bye for now.

Busy Busy Day

Yo Ho Woofers,

D&H here after a very busy day!

We have been rushed off our paws today, first of all we woke up about five thirty and decided to see if The Missus and Old Two Legs were awake, well they weren't, until we gave them a 'Good Morning' lick behind the ears!

OTL was busy in the morning, he even started work at seven this morning, now that's serious!

We went out for a walk along the Sea Defence Wall near where we live, OTL brought the ball, which Holly and me did some serious 'Mullering' to!

But not before we found a gigantic ball that all we could do was kick along the beach!

Beach Ball

We soon lost interest in that and went back to the tennis ball that Holly and me were giving some serious stick too!

Wanna Play Ball?

We left the Beach Ball on the beach in case any one else wanted to play with it, but as we looked along the beach there was no one else in sight!

Waiting for someone to play with!
That thing in the picture, out in the sea, is to mark where the authority of the Port of London finishes and the Coast Guard starts. There is another marker, just out of the picture that is called The London Stone, which does the same thing!

Our village on the hill.

We went back and on the way stopped to look at our village on the hill.  Just behind us is the North Sea, to our right is the Thames and to our left is the River Medway. We've got water all around us!

Maybe that is why I want to learn to swim, I mean, if it really started to get wet, I would want to swim to safety!

Bye bye for now, Holly and me are off to bed now.

See you tomorrow!

Daisy & Holly

Where has the sun gone?

Hello Woofers,

D&H back again!

It has been a dull old day today, the sun went in a couple of days ago and has not been out since, I do hope it hasn't gone on his holidays!

Holly and I have been sort of lazing about the house today, not doing anything too exciting, just a game of chase and a game of 'hide the chew' then we had a game of 'Mouth Fighting' while laying on our backs with all four legs in the air after that we played at snoozing on the bed followed by 'Lets woof at the neighbours', which is always fun!

Old Two Legs took us out at lunch time to the football field where Holly and I 'Mullered' the ball that OTL brought home yesterday in his pocket. It wasn't totally mullered, so he put it back in his pocket after we had finished playing 'Chase the Ball'.

Well, most of the time I chased the ball and Holly showed off by not even trying to get the ball when OTL threw it. That was until OTL put me on the lead and he then threw the ball for Holly. This time she ran after it and  I was held back. Of course she got to it and picked it up and came back to OTL with it in her mouth, showing off!

Later we went out to the Sea Wall and OTL threw the ball, unfortunately, we lost it, I took my eye off it and it landed in the long grass, gone, never to be seen again!

Luckily, Holly found another tennis ball on  the beach so we both set about 'Mullering' it!

Another one bites the dust!
In no time it was well and truly Mullered, I mean, almost in two halves, cover torn off and well chewed type of Mullered. The sort of job only a pair of Terrible Fierce Terriers could do!

It fell into to so many bits that we lost it!

There it was, Gone!
We had a look for it but gave up in the end.

Holly thought she saw a rabbit, so we had a hunt around the bushes but couldn't see anything at all.

I see no Rabbits!
The Missus has been to see The Boys at their school play, a thing called 'Pirates of the Curry Bean', no we don't know what that's about but it sounds like fun!

Tonight we had Liver and Biscuits, followed by mugging OTL for nibbles and then some short bread!

Holly took the last of her tablets tonight, so she is almost back to one hundred per cent, she says it doesn't hurt any more but the new fur growing through itches and it drives her mad trying to scratch her nose on the carpet!

Off to bed now 'cos we got an early morning tomorrow, we've got to wake TM up and let her know we are guarding against intruders!

Especially when it is still dark!

Bye bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly (Looking forward to some sun)

Talking to OTL

Hello Woofers!

D&H back with you.

This morning we watched from the window as The Missus started to put everything back into the caravan, well, all the stuff that normally stays in the van between going away. You know, water barrel, walking boots, knife & fork, spoon and all the stuff for cooking like pots and pans. There was also TM's walking sticks she uses when Old Two Legs gets her to come for a walk up the mountains!

We were watching to see if any of our stuff was going in, like our beds and drinking bowls and tins of doggy food and biscuits and chews and pork bones and doggy choc drops and our tennis balls.

We didn't see any of that lot go in, so, we reckon that the holiday is not just yet!

OTL has been busy on the computer so we didn't get a chance to have a game in the garden today. Holly and I had a chase around the estate and up stairs. The weather wasn't so hot today so we could get up some speed!

OTL took us for a short walk this morning over the Football Field and he did his 'Hold onto Daisy and throw the ball for Holly' trick, so we both got some more exercise running up and down the field!

A little later OTL put us in the car and off we went. Now, I know we were going to have some fun 'cos OTL got a second ball from the garden box where we keep the bird seed. So there were two tennis balls in his pocket! I tried to get to them and so did Holly, but OTL was having none of it and kept his elbow on top of the pocket so we couldn't get to them!

It was then that I tried to tell him I wanted the ball.

I started off by whining, you know a sort of little cry us doggies do, but no success. Then I tried the 'Grumbly' talk, you know, a sort of long series of words all joined into one. That didn't work either. Next I tried the 'Long Yawn together with whining finishing off with a long Ooooo!' A bit like a howl but not quite, if you see what I mean.

That didn't work!

It all took a long time to do and by the time we'd finished OTL has done all his jobs and we were driving into the car park of the New Park!

Out we jumped and OTL got both balls out and threw them for Holly and me. We decided pretty soon that chasing two balls was not as much fun as chasing one, so OTL put one ball back in his pocket.

Soon we were at the Swimming Hole and in I went chasing the ball but it sank! Just 'cos I had 'Mullered' it a little! OTL threw the other ball in but a big Labrador pinched it and swam out into the middle of the pond!

I had a scout around and saw the first ball on the bottom, so I had a scrape with my paw and dragged it in closer to the bank where I could stick my head under the water and grab it!

My Mullered Ball has Sunk!!!
After a while OTL got the ball back from the Labrador who didn't Muller it 'cos it has a 'soft mouth'. Which, as OTL pointed out, was the reason he didn't chew it to bits like we do!

Off we went, chasing the ball and Holly and me tried to play 'Catch' with it, without OTL throwing it!

Playing Catch!
It didn't really work, so we had to take it back to OTL to throw and just to show he was in charge, he pretended to throw it several times, which had Holly and me running after nothing!

We ran off, then came back, and then ran off again. In the end all three of us were laughing so much we for got to chase the ball!

Holly laughing her head off!

Me, laughing my tail off!
Getting near to the car we met up with Benny, who we had met before, we had a quick chat and he ran off chasing his owner.

When we got back home we both fell asleep in our day beds until dinner time, Chicken!

A nice lazy evening with snoozes and nibbles and off to bed by ten, what more could a puppy ask for?

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

A Monday run around

Hi Woofers!

D&H back with you again.

What a warm day it's been today, Holly and me have been too hot to do any seriously energetic playing. Even when OTL put our paddling pool out and filled it with water!

We had a run around the football field this morning and we didn't even bother to run, just a gentle stroll for a wee and a sniff.

We went out with Old Two Legs later to deliver some stuff and had a stroll around the New Park. Loads of other doggies and a few new ones!

Hello Sparky!
We met up with Jock, who we haven't seen for some time. He was very well and we had a small game of chase before he went off on another path!

Hello Jock Lad!

Best bit was when I found a bit of dried up fox poo and had a roll over it, then as OTL shoo'ed me away, Holly managed to grab a quick roll! Poor old OTL, we can run circles around him if we want!

I LOVE Fox Poo!

On we went down to the Swimming Hole where we both had a paddle 'cos OTL forgot to bring the ball with him. We tried to grab a ball from one of the other dogs but were seriously woofed off!

Touch my ball and your Dog Meat!

In fact he made me jump so much that my tail got wet at the end where it normally is dry! Holly laughed and said it was a little drip from a big drip!

Here! My tail's wet!
I sniffed and walked off to investigate a new sniff.

After that we had a game of chase, just so we could get dry before getting into OTL's car.

Getting dry in the grass
We went home, singing songs on the way and looking forward to some liver tonight, if we're lucky!

I had a fun this evening, pinching Holly's carrot and having a chew. Then hiding her sweet chew in one of the plant buckets. Trouble was, she found it, so I had to hide it again!

Back to the carrot and then off to bed!

Bye bye for now.

See you tomorrow!

A Slow, Laidback, Sort of Sunday

Hi Woofers!

It's Daisy & Holly back with you again.

We are a little dopey today, well, not so energetic as normal. I think it was the late night we had. You see, me and Holly and OTL stayed up late last night and as The Missus was away over night, we got a Kofti Kebab in for OTL and of course we mugged him for a taster. It was OK but we prefer the chicken strips we get from the Doggy Shop!

We were all sitting on the sofa, telling jokes and mugging OTL for some shortbread. He had got the whisky decanter out and was doing a very technical experiment, seeing if the whisky was better at the top of the decanter or at the bottom. As he explained, before you can do the test properly, you've got to remove the middle bit!

Well, we all overslept and didn't wake up until seven thirty!

After our morning walk across the Fields we got back and found TM had got back, so we gave her a 'Welcome Back' lick  and rushed off to see what was for breakfast, Doggy Food, YUK, oh double YUK!

Oh well, back to mugging OTL!

Lunch time came and we went out to the Football Field and OTL took a ball with us to chase. We chased it so much we even forgot to have a wee!

First off I got to it first every time, then OTL held me back while Holly got a head start and Holly and I got to the ball almost at the same time, clever OTL!

Mine you, when Holly got the ball first, I found that if I grabbed her tail, she would drop the ball and turn around to grab me, but by then I'd got the ball and was off like the wind!

From there we went down to the Sea Wall.

Off to the Beach!
When we got to the beach, the tide was out, so, no swimming or paddling or even woofing at the waves!

Sea's Gone!
That left us with just one thing to do, mug a fisherman or two for some food. Our luck was out again, no fishermen.

All we found was one family sitting on the sea wall looking out to the mud that they wanted to be covered with water.

On the prowl for people with food!
Lets face it, today was going to be a 'Hungry' day, Doggy Food and no Fishermen, we were not Happy Puppies!

When we got back home OTL told us he had a treat for us, our first question was 'can we eat it'? The second was 'can we have it now'?

It was two of the Pork Bones OTL had got from the Doggy Shop!

The one problem we had was that TM would not let us bring them inside the house. I mean, all we want to do is to lay on the sofa and have a good gnaw of a greasy pork bone!

So we had to stay outside with them. We stood guard over them to protect them against he foxes and badgers pinching them. It was a chance to show off our guarding skills to TM and OTL!

It was also to stop Holly from pinching mine and me pinching Holly's!
D&H Guarding in 'Full Alert' mode!
Well, that was it really, a good laid back lazy sort of Sunday and an early night 'cos we are going to pick up the caravan tomorrow from the place that serviced it for us. Now it's already for the holiday and so are we!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Saturday Bird Watching

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again.

First of all a big welcome to Mr Tom who has joined our Happy Band of Woofers.

Saturday is normally a good day for an adventure and this Saturday is no exception, we gathered all our gear together and set off in the car to Canterbury where we like to go bird watching amongst the reed beds.

Well Old Two Legs and I go bird watching, Holly just speculates on the edibility of each of the ducks we see and she tries to work out what they taste like!

OTL took his big lens with him so all the pictures are sort of long distance today, none of Holly and me.

Makes a change!

First of all there was the Little Egret we saw again, it was still wandering around looking for the small fish and frogs.

We thought this was a good picture 'cos it shows both the bird and it's reflection, in the water, all very 'Arty' as OTL says!

An Arty Little Egret

Then there was the Heron, what a scruff bag he was when he first landed, reminds me of Holly after she wakes up in the morning, all bed hair and scruffy!

What a Scruff bag!
Now this bird kept on hiding behind the reeds, then it would fly off, then it came back and hid behind the reeds again, until finally we got the shot.

A little more elegant pose!
Not bad but we think that OTL can do better!

Tasty  Moor Hen & Chicks!
Then there was the Moor Hen and chicks, Holly said that the chicks would make a tasty change from mugging OTL for his ham sandwiches!

Little Egret doing a 'Pose' again!
We spotted the Little Egret again standing very still, in fact Holly said it had fallen asleep and could she give it a woof to wake it up before it fell over!

We had good runs up and down the paths and we even chased after a rat that dared to cross the path ahead of us!

All the way home we were having a sing song and telling jokes about the birds we had seen today.

Tomorrow we have got the F1 racing at Silverstone, so we may not go out for a big adventure, but we may have a small adventure between the showers!

Bye Bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly
