F1 Racing, Lazy Sunday and MAX!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy And Holly here again with you.

Old Two Legs and The Missus had a late night last night 'cos Alun and Glynis and OTL and TM were gassing and laughing and eating and drinking and laughing and, well you get the picture!

They stayed up well past their normal bedtime and of course, they would have had a late morning had Holly and me not woken them up in plenty of time, somewhere around twenty past five!

We always make sure they get up on time, even if OTL was a little grumbly!

We had our walk and when we got back Alun & Glynis packed up all their stuff and headed back to their home, it was great fun seeing them again and we had loads of mugging as well!

The F1 racing was exciting with Button second, he really is a super driver, smooth and precise!

After the racing we went down to the Sea Wall and went looking for Mr Rabbit, but I think he was in his burrow watching the F1 Highlights 'cos he didn't come out when we called him!

I went for a little paddle in the sea as it was High Tide, no muddy stuff for OTL to tell us not to walk in!

The sea was all gentle up against the concrete rock things on the beach and it looked all smooth and shiny, just wait for winter, I bet it will be big waves and loads of noise!

This sign is funny 'cos it points the wrong way to where the footpath goes and no one takes any notice 'cos they walk through the fence and along the path. OTL won't take us along there though 'cos there are loads of sharp metal spikes that may hurt us if we bump into them!

Hey, Wot? Did you see Max? No! Have a look here. http://ellascraftcreations.blogspot.com/

This is one seriously cute Miniature Schnauzer called Max.

A BIG WOOFING HELLO MAX!

We will look forward to seeing how you progress along your training of the Two Legs in your new family!

We have been having trouble getting this blog to 'print' so we will cut it short and upload while it is still working!

See you all soon.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

P.S.  Woofing good night Max!

We got visitors!

Hello Woofers!

It's us, Daisy & Holly back again.

What a day we have been having, we were woken up early by The Missus who got up to finish a few things in the kitchen and pushed us up upstairs onto the bed with Old Two Legs. Holly gave him a lick behind his ear then settled down to give him a cuddle and lick his nose!

We went out for our early morning walk and run across the fields, we do enjoy that first thing, loads of sniffs and wet grass!

After we got back Uncle Alun and Auntie Glynis  had arrived!

We like Glynis 'cos she smells OK and Alun likes to throw our ball for us, so they are all right by us!

We went for a walk over the New Park and had a great time chasing balls and woofing at the Not Not Neddies, not that they took any notice!

We also met Dolly, now Dolly is an absolute darling, I mean at thirteen weeks old she could melt hearts of steel! OTL fell in love with her and TM went all gooey and tickle behind the ear!

Dolly Dog
I mean, at her age she should be able to get anything she wants from anyone she meets and if she put her mind to it  could wrap the whole world around her claws!
Well Holly fell in love and even I became all 'caring' and licky behind the ear!

Does she taste like Chicken?
As a joke, Holly asked if she tasted like chicken!

We also met up with some Pharaoh Hounds who looked absolutely fabulous, a very old breed of dog that was around over two thousand years ago!
A Pharaoh Hound!
We got Alun to throw the ball and we stuck by him when he got lost on the rocks!

Us and Alun
We had a super time but when we got home it was  loads of chat and giggle juice and they all settled down to chatting and laughing.

Holly and me went off for a snooze and a mug of OTL's shortbread, still, we have the job of waking them all up at five in the morning, ready for the early morning walk!

Bye bye for now and see you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

P.S. Come on Chris, where are the pictures? We know you have got a new puppy, we heard on the Puppy News!

Another Frantic Day

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with you again.

You will be glad to know, there have been NO THUMPS today!

So there are no birds with sore heads here today!

Old Two Legs took us out first thing this morning and when we got to the fields, we found the farmer was ploughing and there was this terrific sniff of earth and stuff, so we had a good time running around, sniffing, rolling on our backs and chasing each other across the furrows!

We ended up with very muddy paws, so much so, OTL had to walk us through the wet grass at the side of the field just to wash the soil off our paws and legs!

Breakfast was a super freshly cooked chicken and some doggy biscuits followed by a snooze in the day bed while OTL got on with some work!

Later we went out to the football field and had a great game of 'chase the ball', well I did, Holly spent a lot of the time sitting in the middle of the field watching me chase the ball, lazy puppy she is!

Then after another small snoozett, we went out with OTL delivering some stuff, we were getting a bit bored 'cos there was loads to deliver and we had to drive along way as well, but, in the end we arrived at The New Park!

It was super, we started off by saying hello to the Not Not Neddies, not that they even said 'hello' back, I mean, just how rude can you be?

Then we went down to the swimming hole, it was good fun doing some deep paddling, that was until a big Labrador came splashing into the water and pinched our ball!

Hey! That's My Ball!
Well, it wasn't our ball really 'cos we found it by the waters edge where someone had left it, but as we found it first it belonged to us!

I pinched his ball!
Best bit was, when his owner threw his own ball into the water, I rushed in and pinched it!

He was not a happy doggy, he didn't know which ball to chase, Holly and me had a good laugh about that!

After we left the swimming hole, we had a good run through the grass to dry off and managed to bump into a couple of very large poodle type dogs, Holly reckons they looked like Baboons but I said she should keep that to herself!

Dog or Baboon?
That was OK as they weren't too bouncy but they had their mate with them, a young Jack Russell Terrier who fell in love with OTL and kept coming back to have her tummy tickled!

Holly had a quiet word and told her that OTL was ours and it's our tummy he tickles, not hers, so woof off!

ThatsourOTLyourplayinguptosotakeyourcutelooksandwoofoff!
I wasn't so brave with the poodles but then OTL didn't tickle their tummies!

A bit further on we met Bella, a big Alsatian who wanted us to play with her and her ball, it was one of those 'Ball on a Rope' things that went for miles when the Two Legs threw it. Well, when it was thrown she went off after it like a rocket and left us behind. We soon got bored with that game and went back to sniffin the pathway for new sniffs!

Here's a new sniff!
She soon came back and went right up to OTL to see what the clicking thing was he had under his nose.We soon told her it was his camera and that she would be famous 'cos her picture would appear on my blog.

She said 'what's a blog?'

What's with the clicking?
Obviously she was not a 'technodog' like us and we just said it was a Two Leg thing at which point she lost interest and went back to chasing her ball on a rope!

Back home again and this time OTL had finished for the weekend.

The Missus said that we will see Uncle Alun and Auntie Glynis tomorrow, that should be fun, more people to mug!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

It's The D&H&OTL Bird Hospital and Flying School!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again to see you.

What a start to the day! Holly was down stairs with Old Two Legs getting her morning brush, when, THUMP!

Yep, it's happening again, another young Goldfinch was on the floor, knocked out after flying into the window!

Holly and OTL got the cardboard box and our towel out again and made a bed for it.

OTL put the box onto the table, facing away from the window and turned around to pick the bird up.

There was Holly, giving the bird a good sniff, 'well' says Holly, 'it sort of smells like chicken but not very strong'!

OTL picked the bird up put it inside the box, on our towel, so it has a warm place to get better.

Out for the count!
A little while later we had another look and although it had not flown away yet, it did seem a little brighter!

Getting better!

All the time I was upstairs sleeping in my day bed, well, after a good chicken breakfast where else did you expect me to be?

Having missed all the excitement, I even missed the bird flying off, but we did see the present it left behind for us!

A Poo'y Present from a Goldfinch!
Lunch time we went out the the Sea Wall and as soon as we were out of the car we dashed around to where the rabbits were, only this time they were having an 'after lunch snooze'.

It was a bit much, after we had got OTL to bring us all the way out to see them!

Yoo Hoo! Mr Rabbit!
We soon got bored looking for them and went of to play 'chase', when I made a terrific discovery!

I found out that if a run down hill, at speed, then make a jump, I can almost fly!

A Low Flying Puppy!
Holly tried doing it as well but couldn't get up enough speed! As she says, she is more of an 'Iresistable Force' when she gets going!

We had Duck & Chicken Puppy Food mixed together with some 'real' chicken!

Not sure if we liked it or not but we did have a chew, just to make TM happy and not feel that she is starving us by feeding us puppy food!

Early to bed tonight, we have had too much excitement today!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

No rain and a headache for the Goldfinch!

Hi Woofers!

D&H back with you again!

We have been busy little puppies today, first of all we were up and out for our morning walk with The Missus. She took us over The Fields, and as we had been in doors most of yesterday, we had a load of spare energy to get rid off! It was fun tearing along the paths and over the fields.

A bit later Old Two Legs had to visit the Accountant, so we tagged along and afterwards we went down the Riverside. The tide was out so we had time to have a close look at the 'Rusty Bucket' which has been left on the beach. Holly thinks we should re float it and sail the seven seas as pirates!

Inspecting 'The Rusty Bucket'
We then went further to the Old Fort, well, we call it the Fort 'cos it is the remains of an old building and we pretend it is a Fort!

This time we were attacking the Fort and driving out all the Pirates who had over run the Fort since we were here last!

The Last Pirate!
We go back home to a good lunch of liver and biscuits and a bit of OTL's toast, to be followed by an 'after lunch snoozett', until it was time to go out for our afternoon game on the football field!

We enjoy that run out 'cos we get to chase a ball and each other around the field. Even OTL joins in and tries to chase Holly or me, depending on who has the ball. We sometimes let him catch us and get the ball, well, if we didn't he would start to show off and want to go back home!

We got back after the games and was sitting down watching a bit of television and were all drifting off to sleep when we were awoken by a big 'THUMP' on the window.

Holly and me were both up and woofing in a flash, not too sure of what we were woofing at. Then OTL spotted what had caused the big thump.

It was a young Goldfinch that had flown into the window!

It was on the floor outside the window, all knocked out and not moving and with its eyes closed.

Ouch! That Hurt!
Holly and I were watching it from the window and I said that I should go out and give it a good licking to make it feel better. Holly asked if it tasted like chicken!

Does it taste like chicken?
OTL said that we should leave it for a while to see what happens. Well, I started to get worried and kept pawing at the back door so I could go out and give it a 'get better' lick.

OTL said it would not be a good idea to let me out while the bird was on the ground, so he got a cardboard box and our towel, put the box on its side on top of the garden table and folded the towel so it would fit into the box. He then picked up the Goldfinch and put it on the towel.

He said the bird had its eyes open and struggled a bit when he picked it up, so, there was a good chance it would recover!

What Hit Me?
We were then let out into the garden and Holly and me had a sniff around were it had been on the floor, Holly reckons she could smell chicken!

After dinner, OTL went out to have a look at the bird but it had gone, flown away to join its mates.

OTL said it was a bit much, we had gone to all that trouble to help the Goldfinch and before it flew off, it had done a poo on the towel!

We don't care, just as long as it is able to fly off, then everything is OK by us!

Bye bye for now.

Windy Old Weather!

Yo Ho Me Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here again.

What a windy and wet day it has been!

We got up this morning to the wind blowing the trees and making the tops sway back and forth.

The Missus took us for a walk around the football fields, it was windy and rainy so Holly had a sniff, a wee and did her business, then turned around and rushed back home.

Holly is not a dog to hang about in the rain. I don't mind if there is a ball to chase but Holly, she is an 'indoor dog' when the wind blows!

Next door neighbours garden has a tree where a Collared Dove has built a nest and is sitting on it for most of the day, well it was swaying so much we thought that the bird would get thrown out, but she hung on!

Old Two Legs says they are barmy birds and they are not the same as the other birds, he says they have tried making nests in this tree for the last three years, at the end of August, they spend time sitting on the nest, and never lay an egg!

Well this morning we kept an eye on the bird and she didn't move from the nest at all, even when the rain started and the wind blew some more! You've got to say that she was a brave bird staying there in that gale force wind!

Holly says it must be like the ships out at sea and the wind blowing the waves about and the ship bouncing up and down on the waves. So we played a game pretending that our beds were boats and the waves were tossing the boat about!

Holly says that I sunk, twice!

OTL had to go out to do some work this afternoon, so we stayed in doors with The Missus, all safe in the warm and out of the rain!

When OTL came back we both gave him a big Welcome Home kiss and a lick, from ear to ear and back again!

Sorry there's not photo's today, it has been too wet and OTL has been too busy, but, maybe tomorrow we will get him out with the camera 'cos we know he gets all upset if he can't take any photos!

Bye bye for now and let's hope the wind and the rain go away soon!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly
