High Diving Daisy!

Yo Ho Woofers!

It's Daisy & Holly back with you again.

After we were such good puppies yesterday, guarding Old Two Legs against all those people, he decided to give us a treat for being so professional!

Well, actually, what he said was.......'WALKIES'

Which was good enough for us!

He piled us into the car and off we went to the Sea Wall. Of course, when we got there, we were straight around to see the rabbits and this time we sneaked around the bushes and saw them having a nibble of some grass. 'HELLO' we shouted and rushed over to where they were. Of course, being unsociable sorts, they ran away down into their burrow. We stood outside calling to them but they shouted back that they were not in and for us to 'Go Away'!

We didn't care, off we went for a run along the beach investigating all the new sniffs.

OTL still had his old camera with him but he also had his binoculars with him as well, just to look at the birds. He was telling us how he used this camera and a telescope to take pictures of birds. Then he showed us how by using the binoculars instead of the telescope!

Then he took a picture of me on the concrete wall, which again was miles away from where he was!

He's a clever old stick sometimes!

When we got back we had a mountain of chicken for breakfast, I mean it was almost spilling over the side of the bowl!

Holly and I finished that off in no time at all, and, after a game of chase around the lounge, we settled down to a good 'after breakfast snooze'

That took us up to lunch time, a few nibbles of dry doggy biscuits and it was off out to the New Park!

We played 'Chase the Ball' and said 'Hello' to a couple of Westies and arrived at the Swimming Hole, OTL did his ball throwing bit for me and I had great fun getting the ball back, that was until OTL did his 'Let's chuck it a bit further out' trick.

I tried to get it but it was just too far out, so I waited for the wind to blow it towards the shore, which it did, but at an angle. So there I was, just out of grabbing distance of the ball before the bottom disappears down to the centre of the earth. What was I to do? So I got ashore and climbed onto the rocks by the side of the water, got all big and brave, and jumped in!

I missed the ball and found my self in deep water paddling like crazy for the rocks! It was a little bit of a struggle to get back out again but in the end I managed it and stood there soaking wet from the tip of my nose to the tip of my tail, and all bits in between!

OTL said I was a brave little puppy and he got the ball back for me.

We had a good game of 'chase the ball' and in no time I was dry again except for my back, which OTL gave a good towelling when we got back to the car.

I was showing off a bit to Holly on the way back home pretending to do my dive again and I said I was like a mermaid, she said I looked more like and old wet sack, and that's when we got told off by OTL for fighting in the car!

Another fun day and I'm going to ask OTL if we can go there again tomorrow, just to try another dive!

We've been guarding OTL today!

Hello all you Woofers!

It's D&H Guarding back again.

We've been helping Old Two Legs today. You see, he has been very busy with his bits of paper, putting them into piles and then moving them onto other piles of paper and also putting the bits of paper into envelopes and the posting them.

He always gets upset when people come knocking on the door or try selling stuff on the telephone.

Today we have been looking out of the window and woofing at anyone who comes down our front path. So far we have woofed at the postman, (he's nice really), someone delivering advertising paper that OTL throws straight into the waste paper bin. Then there was the lady with loads of children, we woofed at her not to leave any of them on our door step. You see, children are OK normally but they do get noisy and make a mess and OTL doesn't like a mess, unless he makes it!

Then we woofed at the man who came to read the gas meter, he always makes a noise so we woofed at him to 'Be Quiet'! Then there was the next door neighbour sweeping the path, we woofed at her to be quiet as well, all that scrapping of broom bristles along the path makes a terrible racket!

Around lunch time, OTL said that we were going for a walk 'cos we were woofing so much doing our job that he needed a rest, poor thing!

Off we went to the Sea Wall where we ran along the beach, woofing at the Sea Gulls and the Oyster Catchers who where making a racket 'cos the tide was right out!

We got back home again and had a light lunch of some dry doggy biscuits 'cos we didn't fancy the doggy food The Missus had left for us this morning.

The afternoon has been spent guarding OTL again against the birds who were fighting over the peanuts in the feeders and the collared doves who were practising for the football match they are going to on Saturday. They are not playing but they like to lead the chanting, Uuu-Nigh-Ted, Uuu-Nigh-Ted, Uuu-Nigh-Ted. Only problem is, they don't sound as though they are enjoying it, in fact they sound right miserable!

We had a run in the Football Field and Holly had a woof at an old Labrador who was walking on the other side of the hedge, that was until he woofed back, at that point she ran back to OTL, stood behind him and woofed some more!

Tonight we got chicken for dinner, which is a lot better than tinned doggy food!

OTL has cleaned all his camera gear and his lenses ready for going away on a course, so all he has got is an old camera he had a long time ago. We tried taking pictures with it yesterday but it takes so long to take a picture that it sometimes goes wobbly!

The only type of picture is a flash one when we are sitting still waiting for the flash!

Another Sunny Monday

Hello Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy & Holly.

It has been a sort of lazy day today, we over slept again this morning and didn't get up until eight thirty when Old Two Legs called us for a walk! We didn't even fancy a walk over The Fields, so we just wandered around the Football Field. I had a chase of the ball but Holly decided even that was too much and sat there, in the middle of the field, just looking at the birds!

Around mid morning OTL said he had some stuff to go to the carriers and asked if we wanted to go for a walk along the Sea Wall. 

 

I mean, does Holly like chicken, is the Pope catholic?

 

Of course we do!

 

I had great fun leaning out the window with the wind bowing through my fur and all over my nose.

 Holly just stayed laying down on the seat and letting the air blower in the car ruffle her fur!

We did our normal leap from the car and rushed around the corner to catch he rabbits off guard again, but when we got to the burrow there was another notice pinned up, it read:-

 

'Gone out for the day again, please leave two pints of milk and a can of carrots'

We thought that was a bit mean, going off for the day without telling us. We might have wanted to go with them!

We decided that we should check out the bushes, just in case they were trying to trick us, but we didn't smell them at all.

 

Back home for some lunch and a snooze on the bed, then a woof at OTL to take us over to the Football Field. Sneaky old OTL, this time he took two rubber balls with him, one to throw so I can chase it and the other so Holly could have a wander after it. Holly doesn't do ball chasing, she has never got the hang of running after a ball!

So, OTL kicked the ball towards Holly and it was just a few inches away, well, as they say, 'A picture tells a thousand words'

I said.........'Go Away'

You know, I have never really understood how Holly, being my sister, doesn't get the same fun out of ball chasing as I do.

 

Even when it is thrown at her paws, all she does is laugh!

If you want it, come and get it!

Now, if it tasted of chicken, or liver or OTL's Choc Chip Cookie biscuits, now that's a different story!

 

Tonight we are going to watch the latest 'Pirates of the Caribbean' so I've up loaded the blog early!

I can see us playing pirates tonight before we go to bed, Captain Daisy and 'Orrible 'Olly off for another adventure, jumping all over OTL's bed!

Oh We do like to be beside the Seaside!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again.

We were up really early today, around three thirty, you see I wanted a wee and so did Holly, so we did our 'We want a Wee' woof and Old Two Legs let us into the garden.

That meant we were late in getting up and The Missus had to wake us up for our morning walk!

After some breakfast, we set off in the car to the sea side!

It was super, the sun was shining and not a cloud in the sky. Before too long Holly and I were jumping up and down in the car 'cos we could see the sea. What was even better, we could see loads of sand as well!

OTL parked the car and got our lead on and walked us over the the Pay & Display machine to buy a parking ticket. Now normally this makes OTL very angry, he mumbles and curses and says rude words as he puts money in the machine but this time, the machine just threw his money back at him!

A little investigation showed that the machine was broken!

We had a wander around the car park but could not find another machine!

OTL was a happy little Two Legs, 

FREE PARKING!

That was it, TM was out of the car and we locked it up and went down to the beach.

OTL pointed out a notice that said doggies were not allowed on the beach until after the thirtieth of September, we that was OK, it's the second of October

Yahooooo!

Off we went and in no time at all we were in the sea, well splashing in the puddles, Holly even found one of her own!

Then we both rushed out to the sea, it was wet, salty and warm! Even Holly had a deep paddle! I didn't go swimming 'cos you would need to go out much further and we didn't want OTL to worry!

We were running and jumping and chasing the ball all over the place, along the sand and over the sea weed!

You know, we even got TM to come in for a paddle but she said that it was too shallow for her to have a swim!

We met up with a number of other dogs enjoying a run on the sand or swimming in the sea, one was called Jasper and he is just like our Dad, a Bichon Frise and Maltese Terrier cross. We had great time chasing each other and when it got too hot and sticky, we just collapsed into a deep puddle!

After while we said good bye and headed off to the car park for a drink and a dry off.

OTL gave TM some money and whispered in her ear and off she went with a big grin on her face. We weren't too sure what they were up to, until TM came back with three ice cream cones piled high with ice cream, you know, the soft creamy stuff!

Well Holly an me set to licking one like it was going out of date, OTL and TM were doing the same with theirs.

It was LOVELY!

In the past it has just been OTL and me licking the ice cream, he would lick one side and I would lick the other!

But this time Holly and me had one of our own!

We headed home and both of us slept most of the way back. When we got back in we had another snooze before dinner and one after!

So tonight we are going to bed, both very happy puppies and worn out!

New Walks and a clean camera!

Hello Woofers!

D&H back again on a absolutely super sunny day here in North Kent.

A big 'Welcome Back' to Max who has been away on holiday for a week in his new caravan, bet you had a super time and the weather was sunny all week long, you lucky puppy!

We had a lazy start to today, we went upstairs and said 'Good Morning' to Old Two Legs and The Missus, then fell asleep on the bed until OTL was ready to take us out for our morning walk!

TM had gone out early to do some shopping and we didn't even know!

TM brought OTL a present of a book called North Kent Walks, some of the walks we know already but there are a few we don't know, so OTL, being all adventurous and action man, had a look and decided we should go on the walk called Oldbury Hill Revival. He told us that it was an old Hill Fort used for protection against the Romans but in the end the Romans over ran it and it was abandoned.

Holly says she wants to be a Roman Puppy!

So, after an early lunch, off we set. I wanted to be an Ancient Briton collecting taxes on anyone who walked on the land and Holly said she was a Roman Puppy collecting a Bone Tax from all the Ancient Britons!

OTL said he should have been a Palaeolithic Hunter 'cos they were there first and didn't pay taxes to anyone, which is just as well 'cos he hates paying taxes especially to the Inland Revenue and the VAT man and Car Park Attendants!

We got a little way down the road when Holly and me decided it was going to be too hot to walk three miles around the walk, so, when we got near to The Farm we asked OTL if we can go there instead and leave Oldbury Hill for another day.

Good old OTL, he didn't mind and we piled out of the car and ran down the chalk path.

OTL stayed in the shade and so did we, it was really hot in the sun. As we climbed the hill I could smell squirrel and ran ahead of Holly and OTL.

There on the ground in front of me was a Squirrel! A honking big Grey Squirrel burying his nuts for Christmas. Well, I was down the hill, going at mach three and a bit, the squirrel looked up and just leapt into the air and grabbed a branch and was into the tree in no time, just too fast for me!

It sat there chattering away and making rude comments about me and doggies in general!

I told him, 'Just wait, I'll be Back'!

Holly was having a sniff on the ground and claimed that some of the buried nuts smelt just like chicken!

Walkers ahead!

Off in the distance we saw a big group of walkers striding along the path we had planned to go on, so we changed our route and took a left hand turn up the hill.

Any way, they were singing marching songs, so Holly and I me started singing our own songs, but they were too fast or OTL to keep up, so we had to keep stopping and waiting for him to catch up!

When we got back to the car we crashed out on the seat and after had a well earned drink from our travelling bowl that OTL had filled with cold water before we left home. He had also hid it away from the sun, so it was still cool when we got back into the car!

On the way back, Holly and I stuck our heads out of the widow and woofed at all the people on the path.

It was good having the wind blow through our fur and cool our noses!

We spent the evening snoozing and fighting and mugging OTL for some of his dinner!

Tomorrow we are planning to go down to the coast with OTL & TM, maybe have a splash in the sea as well!

Hey, it's Friday!

Hi all you Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here with you again.

Another super hot sunny day!

Old Two Legs took us out first thing this morning and we decided to go to The Football Field 'cos it was closer than the fields where we normally walk and Holly wanted a wee urgently!

OTL took his camera with him, the film one, and was waiting for the sun to shine through the trees and show all the sunbeams through the mist, trouble was, there was very little mist this morning, so OTL didn't get his sunbeams!

Maybe tomorrow, if there is enough mist?

We had to stay with The Missus today because OTL had to go out. It was a bit sad sitting there waiting for him to come back but TM said we could go to the Sea Wall for a walk if we stopped whining  for OTL!

Well that shut us up in double quick time and before long were were on our way.

As soon as we were out of the car we flew around the corner to catch the rabbits off guard, but all we found was a note pinned to the burrow which read 'Gone out for the day'

So we had to play ball with TM along the sea wall.

As the tide was in we had a little paddle and a lick of the water, but it was too salty for us!

We had been running around, so, it was good that TM had brought our drinking bowl with us, full of new water, we needed that drink!

When we got back we both collapsed onto the sofa and had a good afternoon snooze until OTL came back.

He tried to sneak in the front door without us knowing, fat chance, we were all over him as soon as he opened the door, a good woofing hello and a big wet licking from both of us!

It's chicken tonight and it is a toss up if we eat that first or mug OTL for some of his gammon.

Decisions, decisions!

We had a relaxing evening, I managed to mug OTL for some shortbread and Holly spent some time sorting her chew out!

We watched a Harry Potter film this evening and now that I have made some notes, I'm going to try a few spells on the rabbits and Hissin Chrissy!

I have to find a wand first but I think there was a feather in the garden I could use. It's not a dragons quill, more a pigeons tail feather but it should still do the job!

I'll let you know what happens!

TM is Back!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with you on a super sunny day!

We had some fun last night, what with all the singing and joke telling we stayed up too late and over slept this morning.

Normally we wake up around five and go for a wee and a walk around the garden before rushing up stairs to Old Two Legs bed, give him a 'good morning' lick then curl up for our 'after get up snooze'.

Not this morning, we didn't wake up until six thirty and only then because OTL woke us up!

We had a run across the fields and also a run in the football field, just to wash the soil off out legs by running on the wet grass!

When we got back home The Missus was there! We gave her a good 'welcome home' lick and a cuddle, then got a rub down with the towel 'cos we were still wet and soggy!

After a brush we got our breakfast, chicken and biscuits, our favourite, followed by a super snooze on OTL's office!

OTL has told us he will be going away soon on a course to do with his photography, in preparation, he has got to get his camera insides cleaned by an expert cleaner. So today we have been down to see him and take OTL's cameras to him. That means we only have the 35mm film camera, so there are no pictures today!

After doing all our delivery jobs we went for a walk down by The Lakes, which was good fun, especially when after paddling in the lake and getting all wet and damp, we crept up behind a couple of Two Legs who were laying down in the sun. They had their eyes closed, we know that 'cos when we stopped to have a sniff, water dropped down from our chins onto their tummy's, I've never seen a TL jump so high or scream so loud, we reckon she was asleep!

We just woofed and ran off!

The rest of the day was spent snoozing at home and moving in and out of the garden to the coolest place we could find!

With any luck we might go down to the seaside tomorrow, if OTL is not too busy!

A day on our own with OTL

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here with you again!

It has been a funny old day today, The Missus got a call early this morning and announced that she was going over to The Boys house for a couple of days. Seems like Thomas has got himself a cough and cold and is not feeling very well. So, she is going over there to look after him until he feels better.

That means we are on our own with Old Two Legs!

We had our morning walk and a game with the ball, even if Holly spent most of the time sitting on her bottom!

Then we came home, had a nibble and went up to the office where OTL was trying some macro photography.

Macro means small, just in case you were wondering!

He spent some time trying to photograph a seed that he had picked off our coat while he was brushing us. Now, this seed had grown hooks so it could hang onto any animal that passed by who was hairy, like us and rabbits or foxes or even Badgers!

These hooks would hold the seed for a while until it dropped off later on, clever little seed or wot?

If I told you that the whole seed, including all the hooks was no bigger than four millimetre diameter, you will see just how close he has got!



Well, we were very interested in what he was doing, especially as he had pinched our tennis ball to mount the seed onto!

Oh, the excitement!

 A bit later on we went out again to the Sea Wall and Holly had a good woof at a kite that was being flown by a Two Legs and he was making it swoop and climb all over the sky!

Back home for a nibble and a snooze, then off to the Riverside Park.

We met a few dogs and said hello to some children who wanted to stroke us.

Then we investigated the Pirates Cave, but there was no one at home.

The other thing we did was to find an old green ball, have a game and loose it in the mud!

I found and lost a green ball!

Tonight we're going to stay up late and have a good sing song 'cos TM is not here to tell us off!

We know how to live it up when TM's not here!

Flying Holly!

Hello Woofers!

D&H Back again.

It has been a wonderful sunny day today, it has been almost too hot to run around, but not quite!

This morning we went for a walk with The Missus around the fields and up near the golf course. We were doing well, finding new sniffs and hunting foxes through the brambles.

All of a sudden, Holly stops and starts to grumble, you know, that deep down grumble reserved for things we don't like and are willing to do something about. I looked to where she was looking and was about to join in the grumble when I worked out what she was grumbling about.

It was the most enormous Rottweiler I have ever seen, he was GIGANTIC, I mean he was the size of a horse and he was coming our way with a purposeful look in his eye.

You could see his eye and it almost said 'Breakfast'!

I said to Holly, 'Are you Serious?'

Yes said Holly, I reckon we can take him!

You must be mad I said and if we get out of this alive, your going to the opticians first thing!

TM was a little worried as well and was calling us back to her in a sort of 'stage whisper' that you could hear a mile away!

Well, lucky for him, his master caught up with him and put him on a lead and walked off in a different direction, Holly may say 'Lucky for Him' I thought it was more like Lucky For Us!

That was something to tell Old Two Legs when we got back and he said we were brave little puppies but we should be careful who we have a grumble at in future!

Lunch time came and we went down to the Sea Wall again and went hunting rabbits as normal and as normal, we couldn't find any!

So, walking along the wall, we saw a Boxer type of dog on a lead coming towards us. Holly did it again, 'I reckon we can take him' she said and with that she went into the grumbly mode and headed towards the dog

Now, I couldn't let her take him on alone so I went off with her and we trotted towards him, crouched down and grumbling like we meant it!

As we got closer, he got bigger and I got more worried, I had to think fast, what could I do?

Well I did the only thing I could think of, I gave Holly a shove and knocked her off the wall and onto the beach and while the other dog was looking at Holly, I rushed past him and woofed so he didn't know who to chase!

OTL didn't help, he was laughing at Holly falling off the wall and onto the beach!

I think I deserve my chicken dinner tonight for getting my sister out of deep poo!

And talking of that, TM has just called us for dinner!

A Relaxing Monday!

Hi all you Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with you after a hectic weekend.

We're glad it's Monday, at least we will get a rest today!

Old Two Legs was in the office first thing working away and The Missus got up early to take us out to the Sea Wall for our early morning walk. We like the Sea Wall 'cos there's always a chance we will bump into a rabbit or two!

TM was being a bit sneaky this morning. Normally when we're out with OTL he calls or whistles for us to follow or come out of the bushes, but TM normally just calls. Both of which we totally ignore if we have a good sniff or there's a rabbit about.

Not today, first of all TM had the Dog Whistle, nasty little thing it is, the sound goes right through you!

Well, when she blew it this morning and we ran to her, she gave us a bit of ham she had in a bag. Nice one!

Then next time she blew it, Holly looks up and sees TM waving the bag of ham. She was of to TM like a Puppy Powered Rocket, well, you know what Holly's like for food. For the rest of the walk Holly stayed close to TM, just in case TM got the bag out again!

Back home for breakfast and a snooze in the office.

That was until lunch time, OTL had some deliveries to make, so off we went so that we can guard the car while he is out delivering!

Of course, being a hot day what with all this sunshine and warm wind, we made a bit of a fuss and pretty soon OTL got the message, The New Park and The Swimming Hole!

We didn't go straight to the water 'cos we could see there were some big Labrador type dogs there woofing and making loads of waves by jumping in the water and chasing balls.

We went for a good walk first and met up with a few of the lads and chased the ball around for a bit.

Yo Man!

OTL had brought the hard rubber ball, it's a bit smaller than the tennis ball and it is easier to grab hold of with my mouth.

Holly and me chased that ball all over the place and in the end were getting a bit hot and thirsty, when we arrived at the Swimming Hole, there was no one there!

Great! I jumped in straight away and Holly had a paddle, up to her tummy, 'cos she is not into this swimming stuff yet!

OTL did his bit by throwing the ball just out of my depth so I had to try swimming after it. I'm not really that confident yet but I had a go and managed to grab the all once!

We had some fun running in and out of the water but Holly reckoned that it was getting cold so we decided to have a run back to the car to help dry off!

We mugged OTL for some of his Pork Pie at dinner!

It was a good lazy sort of day ending in a good swim for me.

We are wondering what OTL has got in mind for tomorrow, maybe a trip down to the sea side for a run on the sand?
