Sunshine Today!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here.

This morning we decided that is was going to be another foggy and dismal day, so we got up, had a stretch, then jumped up on Old Two Legs bed and snuggled down with him for an 'After wake up snooze'. We like those snoozes, all sort of warm and cuddly!

Finally we were forced off the bed with The Missus wanting to straighten up all the bedding, which we don't mind 'cos it makes it good and comfortable to snooze on!

We were just about to get back on for our 'second snooze' when she calls out 'Walkies!'

That's it, we were off down the stairs like Puppy Rockets!

When we got outside, bless our tails, it was sun shine and balmy breezes, that was it, off we went at a gallop for The Fields. We had a great time woofing and chasing each other all along the paths and on the way back we came across 'Hissin Chrissy', that nasty cat with a 'Bad Attitude', it was terrorising a pigeon who was sitting on the fence post too scared to move.

We dived through the fence and went as far as our lead would let us, Chrissy let out a surprised yell and went from cuddling the ground, like they do when stalking something, to standing on the tips of her claws with her back arched high in the air and tail straight out the back. He mouth was open and she was showing her teeth as well!

Not that we were worried, our charge scared the cats poo out of her and she leapt up the brick wall in one bound and was away like the wind, muttering something about catching us when we're asleep! Ha! That pussy cat is so slow she couldn't even catch a cold!

After lunch we went down The Farm and had a terrific time chasing foxes through the woods.

I smell Foxes!
Well, I did, Holly decided that it would be better if she stayed close to OTL as the fog was closing in again and especially as a man came past saying he had lost his 'Staffy' and we are a little wary of that type of doggy!

Holly was keeping a close watch out for the Staffy!

OTL did find a couple of fungi in the woods and had a quick snap before the light faded, pity he didn't have his tripod with him, still they don't look too bad really!

Popping Up Mushrooms!
These two looked like they popped up today judging by the earth still on their tops!

We spent the rest of the afternoon snoozing and playing games with the chews. Holly can throw a chew over her shoulder and almost catch it as it lands but it keeps banging on the coffee table and when it does she gets told off!

We're off to mug OTL for some of his dinner now and afterwards, his shortbread!

So, bye bye for now and we'll see you tomorrow.

Daisy & Holly

Autumn is here!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with you again.

Wot a dismal old day it has been today, chilly this morning and foggy all day!

Just for a change we went over the fields with The Missus first thing this morning, met a couple of woofers and said 'good morning'. One was an enormous old greyhound that was so big we reckon TM could have ridden it like a horse!

A bit later we got restless and started to chase each other around the house, just for a laugh.

TM chased us back up stairs into Old Two Legs office and told us both that our tails were in mortal danger!

We didn't believe her, but we did settle down for about two minutes!

We jumped up at OTL, who was doing some building thingy with bits of wire, we reminded him that it was just about time for a wander along the Sea Wall.

Well, OTL doesn't need telling twice and in a few moments we were in the car and heading towards the sea!

Straight out of the car and around the corner to the rabbits play area then down to the bushes where the Magpie sometimes sits. A quick woof at the sea gulls and we started our walk!

A Rabbit was here!
The water was right in and we enjoyed a run on the beach, sniffin' at all the smells brought in by the tide, some times there can be some 'terrible sniffs' so bad it makes you wonder what caused them in the first place!

We had some fun playing 'chariots' along the Sea Wall, Holly got a branch and waved it at me saying 'Catch me if you Can!' and started running, that was it, I was after her like a shot!

'Catch me if you Can!'
Pretty soon we were running and chasing each other, grabbing the branch and having a 'Tug of War' with it!

It's Mine!
Needless to say, after a while, it broke into so many bits there was not enough for both of us to grab hold of at the same time!

Back at home OTL was back to being busy busy busy, with the coax and an hour or so later he had finished and was packing it all up into bags.

That was a good sign 'cos we know that after the carriers we always get a walk and this was going to be different today!

Because OTL was late in going to the carriers it was getting dark, a good sign the Autumn is here, and we decided that a trip to the New Park would be the best.

It was strange having a walk in the park when it's all dark and foggy. When we came across a dog and it's owner walking towards us they looked all strange in the fog, so much so that both Holly and me stopped and would not go any further until they got closer and we could see what it was!

We even stayed close to OTL as we went along the path 'cos we didn't want to loose him in the fog!

When we got home there was a super chicken dinner and of course, there was OTL and his shortbread!

So, another day over and we're off to bed now, after a cuddle with OTL!

Bye bye and see you tomorrow!

Daisy & Holly

F1 Fun & OTL's Fungi

Hi Woofers!

D&H back with you again!

We had a bit of a scare last night, someone in the village was letting of the Pop Bangs early in the evening. That was not good for me but even worse for Holly, she had to spend some time cuddled up to Old Two Legs, which she doesn't mind, but it was difficult for him to move in his chair 'cos she was cuddled up really close!

As the evening went on she stopped shivering and settled down to mullering a new chew, she said it was 'comfort chewing'! !

Both Holly and me have picked up a tummy bug, so we were busy waking OTL and The Missus all through the night, just when we urgently wanted to go out, I think it was six times, a record for us!

When we finally woke up this morning, OTL took us down to the Sea Wall, he was looking for that 'Stink Horn' look alike and we were looking for the rabbits again!

We charged up and down the Sand Hills and Holly even started to dig a big hole, just like we do when we're on holiday!

Up the Hill!
Then Holly and me played a game of 'Castles' and this time we were fighting off pirates who were trying to capture the castle!

Standing Guard against Pirates!
While we were fighting the pirates, OTL was on his knees photographing fungi, first he found the one he saw yesterday and didn't know what it was, well, we can now say that it belongs to the 'Ink Cap' family, but he still doesn't know its name!

Ink Cap type of Fungi
You can see the earth grains that we had on this yesterday, have a look at yesterdays photo. They were still there today!

Dirty Ink Cap!
We got a bit fed up with OTL photographing fungi and told him we want more pictures of us, 'cos this is our blog and we are 'In Charge!'

So first of all, we were thinking of a more up to date photo for the blog, so how about this?

Daisy, Holly and OTL
Then, without asking I see that OTL has sneaked another mushroom into the blog! I think I will have a word with him!

Only an inch diameter but it looked pretty!
The F1 racing was great, Hamilton first and Jenson came in third. We sat there and were pretending to drive the cars, brrmm Brmmmm!

Holly did say that we would have to get the peddles adjusted for us but I reckon we could give Lewis a run for his money!

So, another fun Sunday and just for a change, the sun has been shining, even if the wind was picking up later in the afternoon.

It won't be long before the cold weather is with us and OTL will be taking photos of us in the snow!

Better still, we will be able to say 'Hello' again to the Snow Fairy!

Now that would be good for Christmas!

See you tomorrow!

Daisy & Holly

F1, Sand Hills of North Kent and Chicken Breakfast!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here on misty Saturday.

We have been good puppies today, early this morning we woofed off a cat that was meowing out side the window, somewhere around three thirty it was. The Missus joined in the woofing as well and then told us to woof off back to bed!

When it got light we were expecting to get a walk with TM, well, she was all dressed up in her coat and had those flowery wellies on, the ones she uses to go paddling in the sea with, when we go on holiday in the summer!

We stood near the door but she sneaked out and left us with our legs crossed!

That was it, we went up to see Old Two Legs to complain!

OTL said that TM was going out  'Litter Picking' around the village with some other volunteers and he would take us out.

As we drove past the church, we saw a load of people in 'High Viz' jacket things and OTL slowed down and took some photos, it was just as we got level that we saw OTL and Auntie Sheila there all togged up for litter picking!

TM & Auntie Shelia off to Pick Litter!

TM says it's amazing just how much rubbish these Two Legs leave in the verges!

Holly me and OTL headed off to the Sea Wall, and when we got there, it was a case of 'Head for the Hills!

Well, the sand hills actually!

Holly and I ran up the hills and raced down them, again and again! It was just like being on holiday again!

Sand Hills of North Kent!
Holly ran down one and said that she was going so fast that when she went past OTL all he heard was Whoosh!

Just like 'Super Puppy'!

A Speeding Super Puppy!
OTL was rummaging around in the bushes and long grass and found a fungi he said reminded him of the Stink Horn, but it wasn't a stink horn and he didn't know what it was. You know, he is not very good at recognising and naming fungi, so we had better not send him shopping for mushrooms, you never know what he will come back with!

Not a Stink Horn.
We saw some fishermen digging again, you would have thought that they'd get fed up with all that digging and leave the worms alone.

Hello Worms!

I mean, if a worm was supposed to swim, they'd grow flippers like the ducks!

OTL found this concrete thingy and was taking pictures of the plant thing growing on it, he said it was called Lichen and it took a long time to grow and was very old 'cos it was big and round.

Lichen
Holly had a sniff and then a lick and declared that it didn't taste nice and it didn't smell nice and she didn't Lichen it much!

We all laughed at that and kept joking about that all day!

We watched the F1 Qualifying and Hamilton was second and Button third. We shall be looking forward to watching the race tomorrow, Brmm Brmm!

Then we went for our second run down the Sea Wall and this time we chased along the beach, running on the old cockle shells and that really wears out your legs!

All this running around we have been doing today means we are tired little puppies but not too tired that we can't eat our dinner and mug OTL for some shortbread!

So off we go and are keeping fingers crossed for  better weather tomorrow 'cos we might go out bird watching with OTL!

Bye bye for now!

Daisy & Holly

Friday's Here!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here with you again.

It's been a dismal old day today, mist and damp first thing and it stayed like that all day!

We went out with Old Two Legs down to the Sea Wall for our early morning run. We chased the rabbits and woofed at a couple of Magpie's sitting on top of the tree. The tide was right out and there were some fishermen digging in the mud looking for some worms to train how to swim!

Holly woofed at them but they didn't take any notice!

Back home we had some liver and biscuits for breakfast and retired to OTL's office for our morning snooze.

We heard the front door being opened and rushed down to find Auntie Sheila visiting to join The Missus in her Friday Card Making Session!

Slapping the glue pot and throwing glitter all over the place, and they accuse us of being untidy!

A little later we went out with OTL to drop some stuff off at the carriers and then off to The Farm. I rushed into the forest chasing some rabbits, OTL stood for about ten minutes calling and whistling for me to follow him, no way!

I was having so much fun!

In the end I relented and ran back to him and Holly. Holly told me off when I got back to her and OTL!

On the way back we stopped at RSPB Northwood Hill to see how the 'Puff Ball' fungi were doing, but they still aren't big enough to photograph, so we will have to have another look over the weekend.

An afternoon of snoozing has made us a relaxed pair of puppies and what with OTL forgetting to charge the camera battery, there are no photos either!

So, we will draw up a plan for the weekend and that will involve getting OTL to take us for a walk on the sand again!

So, with nothing more to add we will go and mug OTL for some shortbread and have an early night!

Bye bye for now!

We've been out Hunting Rabbits and Fungi Today!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here.

We have been out with Old Two Legs today. The Missus went off to sit with Tom 'cos he's not feeling too well, an Autumn cold or maybe he's been eating some dodgy sweets or something.

First thing we were out with OTL running along the Sea Wall again, not very windy at all, in fact, there was no wind at all, just mist! The rabbits were still in bed and the birds were hiding in the bushes and they wouldn't come out to play either!

Flying After The Rabbits!

TM left a message on the telephone to say she had seen a big fungi type of toad stool by the side of the road and OTL had better get down there double quick time and take a picture before it disappeared!

Well, OTL is not one to ignore the commands of TM, so off we went and found the fungi she was talking about. We had to stay in the car 'cos there was too much traffic whizzing past, but OTL got this picture.

A Swimming Pool for Fairy's
It certainly was a big one, big enough for a Fairy Jacuzzi!

OTL then got the 'Bug' and off we went to RSPB Northwood Hill to search for 'Puff Balls', these are a sort of fungi that puffs our its spores when the rain drops hit it. OTL was going to take a picture when a drop of water hit the puff ball, even if the water came from an eye dropper he had!

Wot a cheat!

We looked all over the place but didn't find one that had grown up enough to have a 'puff' and the others were too old, all the 'puff' had gone!

We did get some pictures of other fungi, but nothing super colourful like OTL is looking for. You know, big yellow or blue or purple or even red with white spots!

The only ones he can find are sort of pasty looking!

Little Fungi
Then there were these.

Little Fungi but Pretty!
We also saw this one that was covered in water droplets, not the colour OTL wanted but it was unusual being covered in water. So, OTL, being OTL, just had to have a fiddle with it. I thought they say that 'A Photo never Lies', ha! Just have a look and see if you can work out where OTL has been 'Fiddling'

Sparkles on a Fungi.
Yep, it is so obvious isn't, the grass is never that shade of green!

Last of all, there was this bunch of fungi hiding under a grove of trees trying to look like the leaves on the ground!

A fine Bunch of Fungi
OTL said they were a 'Fine Bunch of Fungi', can you have a 'Bunch' of fungi?

This evening OTL and TM are off to see an AmDram play, so Holly and Daisy have the run of the house!

We plan to have a game of 'Chase the Tail' then 'Lets Snooze on OTL's Pillow' followed by 'Hunt the Shortbread'!

Then we might have our own Amateur Dramatic Play 'The Puppies of The Baskervilles! Scary or wot!

Auntie Sheila has promised to come in to open the kitchen door, just in case we want a wee. It will be fun when she comes in, loads of licks and woofs just for her!

Then it's a case of standing 'On Guard' until OTL & TM get back, not too late we hope!

See you tomorrow!

Daisy & Holly

Here, it's mid week again!

Hi Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here with you again.

It was only yesterday that it was Wednesday, and here it's back again!

We were suposed to go over over to They Boys place today but it got changed at the last moment and The Missus got to spend all day making cards, what a shame!

We were in Old Two Legs office this morning when we heard a tapping on the window, there, sitting on the window sill was one of those daft Collared Doves, tapping on the glass. We weren't sure if it was trying to peck its reflection or trying to attract our attention!

Knock Knock!

We went out with OTL for a mid morning run down along the Sea Wall, well, he was planning on going out by himself around midday to collect some stuff in South London.

You know what, he was planning to go all on his own!

We had a race around the brambles to chase the rabbits and then along the Sea Wall to see the sea! The tide was right in and the waves were making funny shapes along the concrete steps.OTL reckons that come the winter storms we should see some great waves crashing over the wall. If that is so, he can jolly well go walkies on his own!

A Wave climbing up the wall!

We saw an rather sad looking balloon on the sea wall, it was sort of sad, like something that was left over from a super birthday party!

After the Party's Over

When we got back at lunch time there was a load of crashing noise coming from the bird box, so OTL switched on the camera and saw that the Blue Tit had almost finished clearing the poo out and was trying to peck at the wooden walls, just to make it more comfortable!

Home improvements!
Well, come going out time, do you think we would let OTL go off to London without us? No way, we insisted we went with him!

On our way out we had to pass the New Park, so, both Holly and me made our 'We want a Wee' signals and OTL had to stop for a half hour to let us have a run!

Crafty or what!

Well that was it really, go out, pick up stuff, go home, eat dinner (Chicken and biscuits), mug OTL, have a pre bedtime snooze!

Come on, that's a lot to cram into a few hours!

So now it's off to bed after the 'Late evening Wee'!

Bye bye for now and see you tomorrow!

Sand Dune Discovery and Big Raptors!

Yo Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here with you again.

Last night we had some fun, our normal 'late evening wee' went missing 'cos we were just too comfortable cuddled up in bed and no matter what Old Two Legs said, there was no way we were going to move.

Until four in the morning that is!

I jumped up onto the bed and gave OTL a quick forehead lick, just to let him know I wanted something, then jumped down from the bed and ran down stairs.  (That's my, 'I Wanna Wee' sign). OTL got up and staggered down the stairs, bumping into everything on the way, followed by Holly who had decided she wanted a wee as well.

After we had finished, it was back to bed for our 'After Midnight Wee Snooze', that is always a good snooze but never lasts long enough! As soon as we get off to sleep, the sun comes up and it's all light and noise from the roadway!

This morning OTL took us out for our early morning run and this time we went down to the Sea Wall but he took a little detour when we got there. After chasing the rabbits we went through the bushes and onto the place where there are sand hills. OTL says he was looking for wild life, we just went wild!

A Vertical Beach!

It was super fun running up and down the sand, Holly was going potty with delight at running in the sand. Like me, she was remembering the holiday when we were running on the beach when the tide was out!

Full Speed Down The Sand Dune!

There was this big Greyhound type of dog we had not met before, he came bounding up to say 'Hello'. We could see he was a youngster and had not learnt all the social 'Rules' yet and got all excited when we said hello and OTL tickled him behind his ear. He was gentle enough and didn't try to take liberties so we all had a sniff before he ran back to his owner!

It's Meee!
Back home for a brush and a bowl full of chicken liver and heart and biscuits, then off to bed for our 'After Breakfast Snooze', leaving OTL to get on with his work!

Lunch time was great fun, we went back to the Sea Wall again for another run around and OTL spotted a 'Big Bird' in the bushes, so creeping up like a 'Big Game Hunter' so he can get a better shot with his camera, he quickly rattled off a couple of shots. The bird did not move. OTL ducked back behind the bush were we were hiding.

A Big Raptor?
We reckoned it could be a big buzzard or even a small eagle, Holly thought it was and Eagle Owl, OTL reckoned a Buzzard and I said it was a Golden Eagle that had lost it's way.

So, with the bird still sitting in the bushes we crowded around the camera while OTL zoomed in on the picture.

A Big Plastic Bag Raptor!
How we laughed at OTL, fancy mistaking a plastic bag for a Raptor!

Don't think we are going to let him forget this one in a hurry!

Off to worry The Missus about our dinner, chicken bits and biscuits and maybe a carrot for 'afters'.

See you tomorrow, we're off to see The Boys, loads of fun!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

We visit the Smelly Nelly again and to Knot or not to Knot, but thats not the Question!

Hello Woofers!

It’s Daisy & Holly back with you again.

What a damp, grey, miserable old day today has been! We have been expecting it to rain all day, but it didn’t, it tried a few drops then gave up ‘cos it was too miserable to even rain!

Well, it hasn’t stopped us from having a good time!

First of all we went out with The Missus for our morning walk, woofed at a few pigeons, just for fun, and said hello to a big old floppy Labrador who just mumbled a greeting and carried on snuffling under a bush.

Old Two Legs was ready with the brush when we got back and he decided to brush Holly first for a change.

He normally brushes me first but Holly has been getting a bit grumbly ‘cos OTL wakes her up from her ‘after walk snooze’ to have a brush and she doesn’t like being woken up, so she has a grumble and shows off a bit.

Not that OTL takes any notice and tells her not to be such a ‘Grumble Guts’ which makes her all sorry and snuggles into OTL’s arms while he carries her downstairs for the brushing.

This morning OTL says, ‘Holly First’ and goes to pick her up. Holly has a little grumble but decides it’s not worth complaining ‘cos OTL will get his own way ‘cos he is bigger that Holly and me put together!

After the brushing that we both enjoy really, we have to wait for our breakfast, chicken and biscuits, but when it arrived we were both straight in, up to our ears, indeed, a ‘Super Breakfast’. Just the thing to set you up for a mid morning snooze!

OTL has been busy making things and bashing away on the computer keyboard while we were having our snooze and when we woke up he said that he had some stuff to deliver.

Off we went with him in the car and after the last delivery he telephoned the accountant to arrange to drop some stuff off but the accountant wasn’t in. Oh Bother says OTL, we’ll have to find something to do for an hour or so!

Well, we know our way around the area and told OTL that the Riverside Park was close, so off we went for a run!

First of all we said ‘Hello’ to the old barge we call the ‘Smelly Nelly’ on account that when the tide is out it smells awful!

It's the Smelly Nelly!
We then chased some gulls that had landed on the beach and woofed them away.

No Gulls on our Beach
Then we went around the side and had a look in the rabbit hole to see if there were any rabbits at home.

There was a note pinned to the door, it said ‘Gone Shopping, back soon’, Holly said that the trouble with rabbits is that they always buy up the best carrots before we get there!

OTL was standing at the end of the path looking at some gulls he called Knot, and I asked if they were related to the Not Not’s we meet in the New Park. OTL said that they were totally unrelated, which was a shame ‘cos we could have had some fun calling them the Not Not Knots!

Holly tried by calling to them ‘is you Knots?’ but they didn’t take any notice and seemed more interested in eating the mud which is ‘Knot’ very healthy!

To Knot or not to Knot, but that's not a real question!
Holly can be such a Wag sometimes!

OTL has been playing about with the pictures he took yesterday and we have decided that the one of Holly is worth putting up on the wall, so he is going to frame the picture and then find some place to hang it!

Holly dreaming of Duck!

You can almost see her lips moving.

Chicken, liver, chicken!

Mind you, someone said that Duck taste like duck, but what does duck taste like, chicken?

That’s what Holly wants to know!

Bye bye for now, we are off to get some dinner, Doggy Food, Yuk!

Looks like OTL will get seriously mugged tonight!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly (Chicken is best!)

The Reeds and Boggy Bits!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with you again!

It was HORRID last night! Whiz Pop Bangs all evening and Holly was not a happy puppy!

We had a cuddle with Old Two Legs and then a cuddle with The Missus and then we went off to bed with TM and snoozed bedside her until it was time to go for our night time wee.

OTL took us out to the garden and we were just thinking about it when,       BANG!

That was it, Holly and I flew back inside and straight back up to TM and we didn't move off the bed until early morning!

We woke up early and made sure that OTL was up as well, (the old 'Wet Tongue in Ear trick) and we jumped up and down until we were in the car and off to Canterbury!

Holly kept asking 'are we there yet?' and of course, OTL told porkies and said that we were nearly there, when we weren't!

Finally we got there and we woofed and scrabbled at the door and woofed some more until OTL let us out!

It was a great time, we sniffed all over the place, ran in the wet grass and jumped in all the muddy puddles we could find!

On the way to Hide No.1
As we knew our way around, we led OTL to all the bird hides and helped him look for the birds and when we got fed up, we started making a noise and fighting so that he had to pack up and let us out!

We saw Fieldfare birds that had just arrived in the country for the Winter Stopover

There were some hides that we both found very interesting, especially when we saw there were loads of quacker type ducks and geese.

Is that one edible?
At the Tower Hide, Holly had a good game trying to work out what one would taste like chicken and what one would taste like liver!

Chicken, Liver, Chicken, maybe Liver, Chicken........
We stopped in the hide furthest away to have a spot of lunch, well, that was OTL's idea and we jumped up onto the shelve to see what he had to eat. Shock horror, he found that he had left his lunch at home!

This was getting serious, I mean, us puppies could starve without a proper lunch!

Lucky for us, OTL had brought a couple of doggy sausages for us, so, taking them out of the packet, he had to sit there holding the sausage while Holly and me bit off lumps to eat!

Chicken, Liver, Chicken, maybe liver, sausage and sausage!
We saw loads of birds and had a super time running in and out of the puddles on the way back. We ended up as right pair of Grubby Puppy's!

Getting Grubby Puppy's
There were some more Whiz Pop Bang's this evening which upset Holly again, so she got cuddles from all of us and I even gave her a lick on her nose to make her feel better!

Because of the noise, we are up late this evening, well it's no good going to bed early if you are going to be kept awake by the noise, so we have stayed up and had a sing song to keep Holly happy!

Up early tomorrow so we get our walk before the rain starts!

Bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly
