Serious Fog!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with you on a very foggy day!

When we went out this morning first thing, it was straight around to the football field. Holly decided to play a game on The Missus. She started off by sitting down in the middle of the field, watching me have a chase of the ball. When TM finally got fed up and was heading for home, Holly still sat in the middle of the field. TM called her to come and have her lead put on, Holly still sat in the middle of the field. So, TM marched over to Holly, mumbling under her breath, showing Holly the lead and indicating that we were going home.

Holly got up off her bottom, and walked away!

TM walked a little quicker after Holly, Holly walked a little quicker in the opposite direction to TM!

TM and Holly ended up getting some running exercise!

Holly thought it was great fun and said she will try it again tomorrow morning!

TM said if she does it again she can stay in the field all day and get a cold in her bottom by sitting on the wet grass!

Back for a brush and some lambs heart for breakfast, absolutely fabulous!

It was still foggy when we went out at lunch time so Old Two Legs took us down The Farm for a change. Great fun looking for foxes and squirrels and rabbits while OTL was looking for fungi and spiders webs with mist drops!

Was that a Fox?
Normally I disappear into the forest  to hunt for stuff but this time OTL did the 'disappearing' trick and Holly and I were rushing around trying to find him!

He finally came out of a bush he had stuck his head into and asked us what we thought of his picture?

Holly said it wouldn't taste like chicken 'cos she had tried one some time back and it was pretty bland and the bones didn't even crunch!

A Tidily Tasty Spider!
In the forest, Holly was trying to spot the Wood Mice that live there, she had worked out that if she got up high enough she could pounce on them like Kestrel or a Owl!

So she started to go Whoo Whoo just like a Tawny Owl. I said that she forgot the Too-Wit and she said that I was the Twit, and that was when the fight started!

Whoo Whoo!

Whoo's a Twit then?
I left her to play owls and went off to sort out a fox I had smelt earlier.

Then she found a big fungi and OTL asked her to sit behind it, just to show how big it was, at least twelve inches across, the toadstool that is, not Holly, she is a bit bigger across the tummy!

Not Mushroom left!

It seems that OTL's messing about with a pinhole camera has caused some interest! He only did it for a laugh 'cos it was foggy out and he couldn't find any fungi to photograph. He was doing some reading about pinhole cameras and found out the first photo taken using the accepted design was back in 1850 and that pinhole cameras are still used, on satellites to photograph the sun!

OK, boring bit over, we only put that in to keep OTL happy!

Now, where is my chew?

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Foggy Foggy Day!

Hello my Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with you.

What a surprise this morning, first of all The Missus was up and stomping about at four thirty, woke everyone up and even Old Two Legs was grumbling!

When the sun got up it could not get through the fog and we had to have our walk in the fog. Holly didn't fancy wandering around the fields 'cos she might get lost, so, Holly did what Holly does best, she sat down and refused to go any further!

TM got fed up with trying to get Holly to move, so, agreed to go back, which was what Holly wanted and we pulled TM off to the Football Field where we had a run, did our business and had a game of 'chase' before getting back for breakfast and a brush.

OTL said that we should try some experiments with the camera! Now, we thought it would be crashing about with lights and tripods and flash lights, but no! He got out the tools and drills and bits of sticky silver paper!

Well, after loads of experimenting we finally managed to make a Digital Single Lens Reflex Pin Hole Camera!

Now, this is a bit of a step backwards but OTL reckons it would work!

So here are the results:-

Camera Body Nikon D3 fitted with a Body Cap with 5mm hole drilled in the centre. Then a bit of aluminium paper stick to the inside and a small hole in the aluminium made with a small sewing needle!

10 sec .5mm hole!
We used a desk light to illuminate the batteries and scissors.

25 sec .2mm hole!
This is one of me posing in a way only I know how!

The size of the hole is a guess but is close enough!

So with this success we set off for the Sea Wall together with a tripod, we were off to photograph the Fishermen hunting worms!

We didn't find any fishermen but OTL did stop a couple walking along and told them to stay still while he took the photo!

Watch the Birdy!
Well, that seemed to impress them so we decided that he should take one of us, trouble was, we just couldn't sit still, that was until we saw a dog walking towards us, so we stayed still for a while but in the wrong direction!

Don't move!
OTL thought it would be fun trying the camera just hand held but as he got down on his knees, we thought we heard a rabbit moving in the grass, well, I was off and Holly just watched!

Was that a Rabbit?
I reckon that if he spent long enough messing about with the pinhole he might get it to focus.

We were thankful that he didn't find any fungi!

Mind you when you think about it he may save some money, camera body £3,500.00, lens £1.50 from ebay!

Now, we are off to get some dinner and maybe mug OTL for some shortbread if he gets it out, or maybe he will get the Twiglet bag out!

Bye bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Sunshine Saturday!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here!

Today The Missus went off early to her 'Crop Thingy Wotsit' where they all sit around gassing and chopping bits of paper up and make a big mess all over the place!

So, off we go with Old Two Legs, he knows how to have a good time!

First of all we went down to the Sea Wall where we charged all over the Sand Hills looking for Rabbits or Pirates. Unfortunately there were none around and even the fungi had gone back to bed!

That didn't matter, we still ran up and down the hills chasing each other!

Which way now?
That was good fun and we then went onto the beach for a run along the cockle shells that have piled up on the beach.

Here's a good sniff!
We were trotting along minding our own business when we spotted the Fishermen we saw yesterday, but this time they were walking across the mud looking for their worms, so OTL took another silhouette picture, not as good as yesterdays but not too bad!

Here, Wormy Wormy!
Next we met up with a couple of Spaniel type of woofers who wanted to play but were too scared, they kept running up to us then turning around and running away saying 'Please don't eat us'!

What a pair of cowards!

Promise you won't eat us?
Holly called them a pair of softies and said that we would only eat one leg at a time, providing it was cooked properly!

That scared them and they ran off, Holly and I almost laughed our tails off!

After lunch time we decided that OTL should go out again 'cos if he stayed in he would fall asleep and bang goes our afternoon run. So, we jumped up at his chair and woofed and grumbled and generally made his life impossible.

He got the message!

Off we went to the New Park!

As soon as we got in we met up with Arthur, a 'Tea Cup' Yorkshire Terrier, he was smaller than us! That made a change!

He jumped up at OTL's leg and made a fuss of him and he tickled Arthur behind his ears and they became friends at once!

Arthur and Us!
We all had a sniff of each other so we would remember each other next time we meet.

OTL walked us along the Horse Bridle Way and suddenly fell to knees and started to fiddle with some grass and leaves, we knew exactly what he found, another blooming Toadstool!

Small and Yellow!
He had to take the picture, holding the camera in his hand as he left his tripod at home. At least he is now finding coloured ones, we're waiting for the time he finds a purple one!

As we got to the end of our walk we stopped to say 'Hello' to the 'Not Not's', not that they said hello, just the normal whistle and foot stamp!

Hello Not Not!
When we got back home we had a snooze while OTL did some work in the office. There is nothing like an afternoon snooze, except an after get up snooze, or better an after breakfast snooze and there is the after lunch snoozette or the after dinner snooze, let's face it, snoozing is just super!

Tonight we expect to have an relaxing time, cuddled up to OTL and robbing him of some shortbread!

Life is indeed good!

See you tomorrow and we may get out with OTL and his camera!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Blue skys and sun shine!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again!

We have been out first thing with Old Two Legs, having our run down at the Sea Wall again. When the weather is good it's a super place for a sniff and you can get sniffs coming in from all over the area!

We saw some fishermen with their buckets and forks going off to look for worms again and OTL took a picture he calls 'Early Morning', it wasn't really, but it could be!

'Early Morning'

There were a couple of big black Labrador dogs walking along the wall and one shoved Holly off the path onto the beach. It was no big deal, Holly and me do it to each other all the time but it got the owner all apologetic and one of the dogs got a smack on the back legs!

OTL never smacks us at all 'cos we're good little girls! When we do something naughty he barks at us in a deep and loud bark he does when he is cross. So we know not to do it again.

It only seems to work with us, The Missus takes no notice of him at all!

A bit further on a five month old Labrador cross breed came bounding down the path and OTL bent down and said 'Hello' but as soon as he bent over, the Labrador stopped, turned around and ran back to its owner!

Come on, Lets Play a Game!
It only wanted to play but it was all bouncy and jumping about, he even jumped up at OTL!

Well that was it, no one jumps up at our OTL when we're around, so both Holly and me woofed at him and I even jumped up on OTL's lap and woofed at him some more!

That sorted him out, off he went, no one messes with us!

Back home and a super snooze for most of the morning, until lunch time, then it was bully OTL to hurry up and finish his Marmite sandwich and mug of tea, so we can go down the Sea Wall again!

This time there were no doggy's except us, so, no fun and games, just a good walk full of sniffs and a chase with Holly!

After our lunch of chicken and Doggy Food, TM has started to mix it all up together, we went up to OTL's office and had an 'After Lunch Snooze'

Expert Snoozing by Experts!
This afternoon, late, around three thirty we bullied OTL into going for a walk along the Sea Wall and as we rummaged and sniffed our way up and down the beach, the sun went to bed! It got all dark half way through the sniffs!

A good excuse to stay close to OTL and get home in time for some nibbles before bed!

We are going to have an early night tonight 'cos we may be woken up by that noisy fox again! You know, last night around four in the morning we had to woof him away from the dustbins and we were so good at it that TM joined in as well, then stayed up 'cos she couldn't go back to sleep again!

We didn't mind that at all 'cos that means there's more room on the bed to have a cuddle with OTL!

Sneaky or wot!

Bye bye for now and don't forget, tomorrow is the weekend!

Happy Days!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly (Fox Terrors!)

I'm in trouble, Again!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here with you again!

Last night it was boring, Boring, BORING!

OTL not only pinched our chews but also our carrots as well! Nothing to nibble on in the night!

Boring BORING BORING!

So, having slept most of the night we were up early and to pay him back, Old Two Legs not only got the 'Cold Wet Nose' but he also got the 'Let's sit on his Head' game!

That woke him up!

OTL took us out for the early morning walk and off we went to the Sea Wall, great fun and we didn't go hunting Giant Bunnies this time, instead we chased each other along the wall.

Holly on a Mission!

Yesterday we saw that someone had left their fork in the mud after digging for worms.

I've Left Me Fork Behind!

Today it was still there, sticking up in the air, wonder what happened to the digger, Holly reckons a giant worm got him!

The Worm's got Him!
I decided to have an 'explore' around the old defence ditch which is very deep and totally ignored OTL when he was calling me. So, he had to walk all the way back to the earth bridge and around the other side to get me.

I was put on the lead for the rest of the walk while Holly was allowed to run free!

Now I'm not a happy puppy about that, especially as I had to sit down when OTL was taking a picture of a Curlew!

Not that it was any god 'cos the light was behind it and all he got was a black shape that looks like a Curlew!

When we got back home we found Auntie Angela had arrived to slap the glue pot around and help throw glitter all over the place, these card people can be real messy sometimes!

So, after a brush, we went off to find our breakfast, stewing steak! The Missus had picked up a bargain at the local supermarket, so steak for us while OTL has rabbit food called Muesli!

Poor Old Two Legs !!!

Just to let him know there are no hard feelings, I let him take Holly and me down The Farm this afternoon.

He was photographing fungi and we were hunting foxes!

Just as he pressed the shutter release, I had a sniff, sorry it was a slow shutter speed and I was moving!

Can you see me?
OTL said I should go and play with the foxes, so off we went, woofing all the way through the trees!

When we came back we found OTL looking at a very small fungi about half an inch diameter, in fact it was so small I nearly trod on it!

A Tiddly Fungi!
OTL picked me up and put me on the plastic bag he uses for kneeling on and told me not to move!

I did and I was in trouble again!

Back on the lead, but I didn't mind 'cos we were close to the car and I didn't feel too much like running around!

We got a bit more of the steak tonight, just to finish it off and OTL has got pizza!

Ho Ho Ho! Poor old OTL, maybe if he is nice to us we will let him ave a bit of steak, but I'll make him sit down and shake paws first!!!

Bye bye for now, see you tomorrow!

Hunting Bunnies on the Hills

Hi Woofers!

It's Daisy & Holly back again!

We were out smarted by Old Two Legs last night, you see, we normally like to go to bed with our chews. We get in our beds and tuck the chew under our chin or tucked into our tummy so it is safe all night.

Then, about midnight, one of us will get up for a stretch or a wander around the house, just to check that all is safe and sound.

When we get back we find that our chew has gone! Then the fight starts, it normally starts with Holly or me woofing and growling, then The Missus starts to growl and then OTL does his 'Get back to bed' type of woof and we all settle down for a couple of hours, then it starts all over again!

Last night OTL pinched both of our chews and put them on top of the chest of drawers where we could see them but not get to them! Drat! Double Drat and Bother!

We made up for it this morning and jumped up and gave them both the old 'Wet Nose in the Ear' trick, that got them awake!

OTL took us out for our midday run and we went back to the Sand Hills, this time we were playing pirates and castles again but this time we were the pirates! We reckoned it would be dead easy capturing the castle 'cos OTL couldn't climb up the Hill to defend the castle!

OTL says he has 'Friends' and told us of the 'Monster Bunny' who put the Sand Hills there in the first place and how he would eat us for lunch!

Monster Bunny?
Holly and me had a chat, first of all we blew raspberries at the Bunny and when that didn't work we threatened to get our mate Mad Max to come and sort him out 'cos Max don't take prisoners and is known for losing his patience if he don't get his own way, especially where rabbits are concerned!

No Bunnies Here!
After a bit the bunny dropped down the other side of the hill and disappeared down his hole! Just to make sure, I sent Holly up to check!

No Bunnies Here!
We had a sniff along the beach but there was no sign of the rabbit, so we reckon he has left the beach to us!

Bunny Gone!
We went along the Sea Wall and saw the most ginormous Container Ship leaving the docks, Holly said it was full of tins of chicken and was going to be delivered to Felixstowe Docks!

Chicken of the move!
Later we met up with a young lad, he told us he was 'Going to get Done on Friday' and that he didn't know what it was but he was looking forward to an adventure.

I told him to be careful 'cos he may end up with a sore bit and be very unhappy for a week or so!

If the vet says cough, DON'T! Just sit down and smile!

He said we didn't know what we were talking about and I told him of my time with a sore tummy. That made him think but we still think he didn't believe us.

But he will, oh yes, he will!

Be warned Max, if ever they start talking about getting you 'done', leave the cushion alone for a while and just sit there and smile at them.

It'll confuse the hell out of them!

OK, we're off to bed now, OTL has taken our chews away and put them on the desk in the office, so that has blown our fun for the night, just wait until the morning, a cold wet nose is heading his way!

Bye bye for now!

Daisy & Holly

Sunshine Today!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here.

This morning we decided that is was going to be another foggy and dismal day, so we got up, had a stretch, then jumped up on Old Two Legs bed and snuggled down with him for an 'After wake up snooze'. We like those snoozes, all sort of warm and cuddly!

Finally we were forced off the bed with The Missus wanting to straighten up all the bedding, which we don't mind 'cos it makes it good and comfortable to snooze on!

We were just about to get back on for our 'second snooze' when she calls out 'Walkies!'

That's it, we were off down the stairs like Puppy Rockets!

When we got outside, bless our tails, it was sun shine and balmy breezes, that was it, off we went at a gallop for The Fields. We had a great time woofing and chasing each other all along the paths and on the way back we came across 'Hissin Chrissy', that nasty cat with a 'Bad Attitude', it was terrorising a pigeon who was sitting on the fence post too scared to move.

We dived through the fence and went as far as our lead would let us, Chrissy let out a surprised yell and went from cuddling the ground, like they do when stalking something, to standing on the tips of her claws with her back arched high in the air and tail straight out the back. He mouth was open and she was showing her teeth as well!

Not that we were worried, our charge scared the cats poo out of her and she leapt up the brick wall in one bound and was away like the wind, muttering something about catching us when we're asleep! Ha! That pussy cat is so slow she couldn't even catch a cold!

After lunch we went down The Farm and had a terrific time chasing foxes through the woods.

I smell Foxes!
Well, I did, Holly decided that it would be better if she stayed close to OTL as the fog was closing in again and especially as a man came past saying he had lost his 'Staffy' and we are a little wary of that type of doggy!

Holly was keeping a close watch out for the Staffy!

OTL did find a couple of fungi in the woods and had a quick snap before the light faded, pity he didn't have his tripod with him, still they don't look too bad really!

Popping Up Mushrooms!
These two looked like they popped up today judging by the earth still on their tops!

We spent the rest of the afternoon snoozing and playing games with the chews. Holly can throw a chew over her shoulder and almost catch it as it lands but it keeps banging on the coffee table and when it does she gets told off!

We're off to mug OTL for some of his dinner now and afterwards, his shortbread!

So, bye bye for now and we'll see you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Autumn is here!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with you again.

Wot a dismal old day it has been today, chilly this morning and foggy all day!

Just for a change we went over the fields with The Missus first thing this morning, met a couple of woofers and said 'good morning'. One was an enormous old greyhound that was so big we reckon TM could have ridden it like a horse!

A bit later we got restless and started to chase each other around the house, just for a laugh.

TM chased us back up stairs into Old Two Legs office and told us both that our tails were in mortal danger!

We didn't believe her, but we did settle down for about two minutes!

We jumped up at OTL, who was doing some building thingy with bits of wire, we reminded him that it was just about time for a wander along the Sea Wall.

Well, OTL doesn't need telling twice and in a few moments we were in the car and heading towards the sea!

Straight out of the car and around the corner to the rabbits play area then down to the bushes where the Magpie sometimes sits. A quick woof at the sea gulls and we started our walk!

A Rabbit was here!
The water was right in and we enjoyed a run on the beach, sniffin' at all the smells brought in by the tide, some times there can be some 'terrible sniffs' so bad it makes you wonder what caused them in the first place!

We had some fun playing 'chariots' along the Sea Wall, Holly got a branch and waved it at me saying 'Catch me if you Can!' and started running, that was it, I was after her like a shot!

'Catch me if you Can!'
Pretty soon we were running and chasing each other, grabbing the branch and having a 'Tug of War' with it!

It's Mine!
Needless to say, after a while, it broke into so many bits there was not enough for both of us to grab hold of at the same time!

Back at home OTL was back to being busy busy busy, with the coax and an hour or so later he had finished and was packing it all up into bags.

That was a good sign 'cos we know that after the carriers we always get a walk and this was going to be different today!

Because OTL was late in going to the carriers it was getting dark, a good sign the Autumn is here, and we decided that a trip to the New Park would be the best.

It was strange having a walk in the park when it's all dark and foggy. When we came across a dog and it's owner walking towards us they looked all strange in the fog, so much so that both Holly and me stopped and would not go any further until they got closer and we could see what it was!

We even stayed close to OTL as we went along the path 'cos we didn't want to loose him in the fog!

When we got home there was a super chicken dinner and of course, there was OTL and his shortbread!

So, another day over and we're off to bed now, after a cuddle with OTL!

Bye bye and see you tomorrow!

Daisy & Holly

F1 Fun & OTL's Fungi

Hi Woofers!

D&H back with you again!

We had a bit of a scare last night, someone in the village was letting of the Pop Bangs early in the evening. That was not good for me but even worse for Holly, she had to spend some time cuddled up to Old Two Legs, which she doesn't mind, but it was difficult for him to move in his chair 'cos she was cuddled up really close!

As the evening went on she stopped shivering and settled down to mullering a new chew, she said it was 'comfort chewing'! !

Both Holly and me have picked up a tummy bug, so we were busy waking OTL and The Missus all through the night, just when we urgently wanted to go out, I think it was six times, a record for us!

When we finally woke up this morning, OTL took us down to the Sea Wall, he was looking for that 'Stink Horn' look alike and we were looking for the rabbits again!

We charged up and down the Sand Hills and Holly even started to dig a big hole, just like we do when we're on holiday!

Up the Hill!
Then Holly and me played a game of 'Castles' and this time we were fighting off pirates who were trying to capture the castle!

Standing Guard against Pirates!
While we were fighting the pirates, OTL was on his knees photographing fungi, first he found the one he saw yesterday and didn't know what it was, well, we can now say that it belongs to the 'Ink Cap' family, but he still doesn't know its name!

Ink Cap type of Fungi
You can see the earth grains that we had on this yesterday, have a look at yesterdays photo. They were still there today!

Dirty Ink Cap!
We got a bit fed up with OTL photographing fungi and told him we want more pictures of us, 'cos this is our blog and we are 'In Charge!'

So first of all, we were thinking of a more up to date photo for the blog, so how about this?

Daisy, Holly and OTL
Then, without asking I see that OTL has sneaked another mushroom into the blog! I think I will have a word with him!

Only an inch diameter but it looked pretty!
The F1 racing was great, Hamilton first and Jenson came in third. We sat there and were pretending to drive the cars, brrmm Brmmmm!

Holly did say that we would have to get the peddles adjusted for us but I reckon we could give Lewis a run for his money!

So, another fun Sunday and just for a change, the sun has been shining, even if the wind was picking up later in the afternoon.

It won't be long before the cold weather is with us and OTL will be taking photos of us in the snow!

Better still, we will be able to say 'Hello' again to the Snow Fairy!

Now that would be good for Christmas!

See you tomorrow!

Daisy & Holly

F1, Sand Hills of North Kent and Chicken Breakfast!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here on misty Saturday.

We have been good puppies today, early this morning we woofed off a cat that was meowing out side the window, somewhere around three thirty it was. The Missus joined in the woofing as well and then told us to woof off back to bed!

When it got light we were expecting to get a walk with TM, well, she was all dressed up in her coat and had those flowery wellies on, the ones she uses to go paddling in the sea with, when we go on holiday in the summer!

We stood near the door but she sneaked out and left us with our legs crossed!

That was it, we went up to see Old Two Legs to complain!

OTL said that TM was going out  'Litter Picking' around the village with some other volunteers and he would take us out.

As we drove past the church, we saw a load of people in 'High Viz' jacket things and OTL slowed down and took some photos, it was just as we got level that we saw OTL and Auntie Sheila there all togged up for litter picking!

TM & Auntie Shelia off to Pick Litter!

TM says it's amazing just how much rubbish these Two Legs leave in the verges!

Holly me and OTL headed off to the Sea Wall, and when we got there, it was a case of 'Head for the Hills!

Well, the sand hills actually!

Holly and I ran up the hills and raced down them, again and again! It was just like being on holiday again!

Sand Hills of North Kent!
Holly ran down one and said that she was going so fast that when she went past OTL all he heard was Whoosh!

Just like 'Super Puppy'!

A Speeding Super Puppy!
OTL was rummaging around in the bushes and long grass and found a fungi he said reminded him of the Stink Horn, but it wasn't a stink horn and he didn't know what it was. You know, he is not very good at recognising and naming fungi, so we had better not send him shopping for mushrooms, you never know what he will come back with!

Not a Stink Horn.
We saw some fishermen digging again, you would have thought that they'd get fed up with all that digging and leave the worms alone.

Hello Worms!

I mean, if a worm was supposed to swim, they'd grow flippers like the ducks!

OTL found this concrete thingy and was taking pictures of the plant thing growing on it, he said it was called Lichen and it took a long time to grow and was very old 'cos it was big and round.

Lichen
Holly had a sniff and then a lick and declared that it didn't taste nice and it didn't smell nice and she didn't Lichen it much!

We all laughed at that and kept joking about that all day!

We watched the F1 Qualifying and Hamilton was second and Button third. We shall be looking forward to watching the race tomorrow, Brmm Brmm!

Then we went for our second run down the Sea Wall and this time we chased along the beach, running on the old cockle shells and that really wears out your legs!

All this running around we have been doing today means we are tired little puppies but not too tired that we can't eat our dinner and mug OTL for some shortbread!

So off we go and are keeping fingers crossed for  better weather tomorrow 'cos we might go out bird watching with OTL!

Bye bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly
