Thor's Day with some Sunshine!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here again.

Happy Thor's Day, another of those Anglo Saxon Gods but this one runs around with a big hammer making all that thunder which scares us!

There was no thunder when we went down the Sea Wall this morning, just the noise The Boys made scaring off all the birds!

Was that Thor's Hammer or The Boys?
We found another Whelk Shell like the one we found the other day.

Looking for a Whelk Shell

There were no other dogs this morning, which is a little strange but we did see several Cats on the way, so we had a good woof at them from inside the car!

The Boys were warming up their Sword Fighting skills again!

More 'Discussions'
Holly said she was getting fed up with all this aggression, so she sneaked up and pinched one of the swords and chewed it into small bits!

That'll sort them out!

Disarmament Talks!
We thought that was great fun and both rushed off down the hill having a good game of High Speed Chase!

Puppy at the Speed of Light!
The Boys left to go back home soon after we got back, so we wandered off to Old Two Legs office and both enjoyed a well earned snooze!

Come lunch time we were wondering where to take OTL for a bit of fresh air, Holly said that we should go back to the New Park 'cos we can go hunting the rabbits in the big field and the Swimming Hole might be unfrozen today so I can go in swimming!

I still reckoned it would be too cold!

So, we did our 'We wanna Walk' bit on OTL, he soon got the message!

In no time we were back down the New Park, not so much sun shine but a great time chasing the ball!

We met up with a few dogs we had met in the past and OTL was looking for wild life to photograph, trouble was, the wild life saw him first and disappeared in a flash!

Then he saw a Tree Pipit coming into land, it parachuted down with it's legs dangling down and landed on the grass. So OTL got down on his knee and raised the camera to take a picture, the bird turned it's head, looked the other way and flew off!

Tree Pipit being anti social!
We bumped into a youngster we had met before and had a quick chat about sniffs we had found.

Yo Matey! How's your sniffs?
Then out of the corner of my eye I caught OTL trying to take a picture of a Reed Warbler, OTL was down on both knees and trying to hide behind a fence post! I mean, there is just too much of OTL to hide behind a tree, never mind the fence post!

Just What are you doing OTL?
We are going to have a serious word with him soon!

Back home and a short snooze later we heard OTL saying that The Missus was outside! What a welcome we gave her, loads of licks from both of us!

Tonight we are looking forward to a quiet cuddle with OTL and a load of his shortbread!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Woden's Day

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again with you!

Happy Woden's Day to you! Woden is the 'Top God' of the Angles and Saxons and also the leader of the 'Wild Hunt'. So that means he must have chased loads of squirrels 'cos they get pretty wild when you get going chasing them!

The Boys stayed over last night, so we were up early this morning. Our walk down by the Sea Wall was great, the sun was shining and there was a slight breeze that had the smell of Spring in it!

Needless to say, the most noise came from The Boys as they tried to chase us across the grass, No chance, I mean, they even run like a Pair of Fairies!

They run like a Pair of Fairies!
Then they decided to show us how to fly! I mean, experts like us, taking lessons from a pair of two legs!

Never!

Bird Poo #1
Just look, they can't even get horizontal flight, they just dropped like a lump of bird poo!

Bird Poo #2

Now come on, just who do they think they are? We can fly better than that, on just one leg!

Holly found this bit of old sponge type of stuff that Old Two Legs says is a load of old egg sacks, she showed us how to throw it up in the air and catch it again! She was dancing all over the beach with it having a great time!

Playing Catch!
On the way back to the car The Boys had another discussion on sword fighting, so Holly and I legged it 'cos you know what was going to happen...............another fight!

Another 'Discussion' in the making!
Back home to some breakfast and a snooze until lunch time. We decided it would be a good idea to stay away from deep mud and big puddles, so, off to the New Park. They have proper paths for the Two Legs and well drained grass for us dogs and the horses!

The Boys were throwing our ball so Holly and I had a great game of 'Chase'!

On the way to get our ball Holly thought that it had been snaffled by a passing dog, so she asked for it back, only to be told, 'Sminesogerroff'!

Smy Ball!
Mistake made and Holly backed off, she's not daft my sister! So we went chasing our ball again until this enormous long legged Bichon Frise on Steroids came bounding up to us with it's eye on our ball!

OTL picked up his camera and ran off a couple of shots. The noise it made stopped Lilly (her name) in her tracks!

Hey! Wossat?
When she had decided the camera and OTL were no danger, in she dived looking for our ball!

Gotcha Ball Girls!
She was a bit bouncy for us but we had a little chase around and finally we got our ball back!

By now The Boys were having 'discussions' again. You know they are worse than us for fighting!

A Rational Discussion!
Tonight we have got some chicken and best of all, everyone else is having chicken, so you know what that means, yep!

Open Season for mugging chicken from Everyone!

Then of course there's OTL's shortbread!

It's going to be a Busy Busy night!

Bye for now, see you on Thor's Day, but that's another story!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

It's Tiu's Day and The Boys are here!

Hi Woofers!

Happy Tiu's Day!

Daisy & Holly here again.

Did you know that Tiu is the God of War and The Sky? Neither did we! He was a God of the Angles and Saxons and there's a story of how he lost his right hand to a Wolf! Holly says that the hand must have tasted of chicken or the wolf wouldn't have bitten it off! That's how you get the saying of 'biting off the hand that will feed you'!

This morning Holly decided she wanted a wee so, about five in the morning she woke Old Two Legs up with her 'I wanna wee' woof. Needless to say, OTL was late in getting up this morning!

It was a bit windy this morning as we went along the Sea Wall and we saw the Brent Chickens, (as Holly calls them) having a paddle in the mud. This time OTL got even closer to them on the beach, so with a bit of luck, over the next few days, he might get close enough for a good picture!

Holly's Brent Chickens getting closer to the Cooking Pot!
When we got back from our walk, there was a familiar sniff at the front door, when we got in, there on the carpet, was a load of shoes. A quick sniff told us The Boys were here! We went potty to get in to say hello! It was great to see them again and Holly wanted to cuddle them both at the same time!

Lunch time came and we all went out to The Forest again. We were looking for those pesky squirrels but with the noise the boys were making, they scared off every living thing in the forest!

To start off they were picking up sticks, we thought that they were going to throw them for us to chase.

Stick collecting
Then they started running and chasing each other up and down the path. They were going so fast we had to get out of their way!

Watch out! Here they come again!
Then The Boys started their Sword Fighting practise but they were doing it on the run! Very difficult that is!

Stand still and let me kill you!
By now Holly and me were getting a bit grubby, especially Holly who had been jumping in and out of the puddles! She said she was going to have a swim to get clean. However, when she got to the pond, it was still frozen! So she decided not to go swimming!

Grubby Holly!
By now The Boys had broken their swords and were having a heated discussion on who had won. Neither of them could agree, so..............................that's when the fight started!

Discussing the finer points of Sword Fighting!
While they were having their 'Discussion' I got busy looking for the squirrels, I saw one but it was running away 'cos of the noise The Boys were making. Holly told them to be less noisy because she wanted to see the squirrels.

Well, that lasted for about five minutes, 'cos they then started to argue over who was making the most noise and..............................that's when the fight started again!

.....and you're the noisy one!
You know, I thought Holly and I were always fighting but these two have us beat!

Still looking for squirrels!
By the time we got home we were all muddy and wet, except for OTL who had managed to stay away from most of the puddles!

Back home it was a good wash down with some warm water and our shampoo. After we were dried we smelt super, just like we do when we come back from the Parlour!

Then we had a snoozett followed by Chicken and Biscuits and another snooze before OTL sat down so we could mug him!

So, tired little puppies we have decided to have an early night. Unless OTL gets the shortbread out!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Moon's Day!

Hello Woofers!

It's Monday or Moon's Day and here we are again!

We we up good and early this morning, I jumped up onto Old Two Legs bed, gave The Missus a lick on the ear and did the same to OTL!

Holly on the other paw, sat at the bottom of the bed, on the floor, and did one of her 'Excuse me, I need a lift' type of woofs!

Yep, OTL got up and lifted her up onto the bed!

Just for that, she curled around the top of his head and gave his ears and bald patch a good licking!

Then we all went back to sleep and didn't get up until half seven!

Down to the Sea Wall and this time we left our coats at home, it was much warmer out and the snow has almost gone!

Hello Wormy!

The Wormy Men were out on the mud, as usual, and we spotted some Brent Geese, the bunch that always hangs out off the Sea Wall. OTL sneaked up behind the Wave Breaker and popped his camera over the top, only to see Holly paddling in the mud in front of the geese!

Brent Chicken.

He got a couple of shots but the sun was behind the geese, so, no super sharp pictures, just 'record shots' as he calls them!

When we got back home, Holly was on the computer with the pictures, she had enlarged them up to maximum. We could hear her muttering, 'Well, they look like chicken'!

After lunch we had to deliver some stuff, so off we went with him, just to make sure OTL didn't get lost!

Holly had decided that a run around The Farm would be a good idea 'cos there were squirrels reported there last week!

The Chase Starts!

We were chasing in and out of the trees, up and down the hills, OTL joined in the chase, even if he was a bit slow!

Look! There's another one!

We had a rip roaring time. By the time we had finished we were all exhausted!

Back from the Chase!

I managed to see two squirrels up in the trees, Holly said she chased a 'Something' down a hole but wasn't too sure what it was!

When we got home we both had to have a wash down 'cos our legs were very muddy, like yucky!

So, Lambs Heart tonight followed by a snooze in front of the television, just like OTL!

See your tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Sun's Day & The Snow Fairy

Hi Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here with you again!

What a fun day! We were up good and early this morning for our early wander around the garden and it was all sort of gloomy and damp, so a quick wee then back to bed again!

A bit later when Old Two Legs had finally got out of bed, showered and was ready to take us out to the Sea Wall, what did we see outside?

The Snow Fairy had come back! There was snow all over the place, not deep snow but a sprinkling like someone had run around with the icing sugar pot and sprinkled it over everything!

Bye bye Snow Fairy!
We were in the car in no time and soon down at the Sea Wall. OTL reckons that it was the Snow Fairy's way of saying good bye until next year. Well, we were not sure about that but if he's right, well then it was very kind of her to come back to say good bye.

OTL was busy taking pictures of the birds, again, but he did spot this Redshank who, he said, was trying to bury his head in the sand, daft bird!

Head in the sand?
Holly and I were a bit sad to think the Snow Fairy was going back, so we wandered along the wall for a bit and said good bye to the snow flakes we could see.

Bye bye Snow Flakes!
I must admit, when I was walking along, I did lick a few!

Back home for a brush followed by some chicken for breakfast, then a snooze. That's how to spend a Sun's Day Morning!

Pity the Sun was not out, seeing it was His Day today!

Lunch time all of the new snow had melted, so we think it may not come again until next Winter. Have you noticed, the light is getting more Spring like in the mornings? Even the birds look brighter and their songs seem more cheerful!

Look! Snows Gone!
We saw some Fishermen in the distance all huddled up against the wind, when we got there OTL says 'Any Luck?' to which the reply was 'Nah, not a thing!'

'Nah Nothing!'
We said hello to a Knot that was picking it's way along the sea front. Holly asked what it was that the bird was not, seeing how it was called a Not?

The bird looked at Holly and said, slowly so Holly would not miss anything.........'I am a Knot, that is Not with a Kay in front of the not, it sounds just the same as Not but has an identifying look when you write it down. Now clear of and let me get back to my dinner!

Clear Off!
Oooo! says Holly, with her tail put out of joint by the birds reply, 'Aren't we the posh bird today?'

I think that's the last time Holly will try taking the mickey out of a Knot!

Back home for a good towelling down 'cos we were both a bit wet and cold. I even sat on OTL's lap on the way back, just to warm up my wet bits! Holly got the heated seat to help dry her!

Lambs Hearts tonight followed by a raid on OTL's dinner plate, or shall we do OTL first? Decisions, Decisions!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly (Knot in a good mood!)

Saturns Day Today!

Hi Woofers!

Weekend's here and today is Saturday or as Old Two Legs says, Saturn's Day and Saturn is the God of Agriculture, (if your into god things) and that is why everyone cuts the grass and clears up the garden on a Saturday, before the football starts!

OTL can be right clever sometimes!

We did out bit of agriculture when we went down to the Sea Wall this morning, we both watered the grass, in several places!

We could do a Wee here?

Then we had a bit of a dig at a rabbit hole, just for fun!

Then we met up with a couple of old ladies who told us they were sisters too and did we know of any good sniffs around this morning? We shared our morning sniffs with them, well it would save them having to explore all over the place and get tired before having time to enjoy the sniff!

Yo Girls, any good sniffs around here?
Then we were off again, Holly spotted the rooks on the sea front having their breakfast. So, Holly being Holly ran up to them calling our 'Hey, Rooky Rooky' but they were having none of it and flew into the air, just above Holly!

Hey, Rooky Rooky!
Holly soon got fed up with chasing them and instead decided to have a look at what they were eating, even Holly said it was horrid!

The rooks had other ideas and landed a bit further up the beach and called out to Holly to 'Rook Off!' and leave their breakfast along!

Rook Off Woofer!
Holly called out that she had lambs heart waiting for her when she got home and wouldn't touch their horrid tasting rubbish!

Off we went and finished our morning stroll!

We had our morning snoozett in OTL's office in our 'Day Bed'. It is really good 'cos when OTL shuts the door we are not disturbed by The Missus flying around on her jet powered carpet sweeper!

In the afternoon we went down to The Forest again, great fun hunting out the sniffs and we met up with a German Schnauzer called Herman. He was good fun and we all played chase for a while, that was until he got called away to go home!

Herman the German

We were looking for squirrels but didn't see any at all! We did see loads of birds and that pleased OTL. We saw Blue Tits and Great Tits and Nuthatch and Great Spotted Woodpecker and a Green Woodpecker and Magpies and Collared Doves and Wood Pigeons and a Crow and some small brown jobs that he couldn't name 'cos they were too far away!

Magpies having a rest!
This one was too high up as well!

Spot the GSW!

Then we had a game of 'Spot The OTL' which means we hide behind a tree trunk and jump out in front of OTL and shout 'Boo'

Peek-A-Boo!
Holly is getting very good at this and always makes OTL jump!

Then she pretended to be a Tree Creeper, just so OTL would take her photograph, show off!

Look! I'm a Tree Creeper!
Back home to a meal of Chicken and Biscuits plus mug TM and OTL for nibbles from their plate before settling down to watch some television and chew on our teeth cleaning chews!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

It's a Squirrel Type of Day!

Hi Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here.

It has been a bit of a mixed day today, first of all we both woke up early this morning, Old Two Legs was snoring his head off!

Holly and I jumped up onto the bed and gave his ears a good licking and Holly even licked his nose! That stopped him making such a noise!

We had our morning walk along the Sea Wall but OTL forgot to bring his camera, well, to be honest, he brought his camera but forgot to bring the battery that had been on charge over night!

Now that was a shame 'cos you missed out on seeing Holly wrestling with a big otter we found on the beach and the near miss we both had with the Sea Eagle that was sitting on top of the bushes. Of course, there were loads of Greylag geese trying to dig up all the worms before the Wormy Men got out there on the mud.

So it was a shame you missed all that, just 'cos OTL forgot the camera battery!

After lunch we headed off to The Forest to hunt for more squirrels, we started off by sniffing for their tracks in the snow.

Sniffin for Squirrel Tracks!
We found the tracks but they didn't lead us to any squirrels. Holly said it would be a good idea if we tried tracking them on the fallen trees where they run about looking for where they buried their nuts!

Here! I smell Squirrel Wee!
It seemed to go well at first with Holly finding some interesting sniffs.

Then I had a go and found some signs of squirrels

Look! Squirrel Poo!
It was OK finding the traces of squirrel, but it didn't lead to actually finding a live, running, jumping Hairy Tailed Squirrel!

There's more Wee Here!
In the end I gave up, it's OK looking for squirrels but if they are going to stay in bed then there's no point in hunting them!

We set off looking for anything else that was moving. We found some birds dancing around and tweeting in the trees, then Holly spotted a Tree Creeper going up the tree looking for food!

Tree Creeper
Towards the end of the walk, OTL and Holly had got ahead of me and I spotted a squirrel and his brother sitting on the branches over my head! I stopped and watched them for a bit, I called to Holly to come back but she was more interested in a sniff near the gate. OTL wanted to get back to the car and had Holly on the lead, so, I just sat there and kept an eye on them, just in case they came down to the ground, I would have got both of them if they did!

I can see them!
No such luck! Off they went and both of them blew raspberries as they went!

Back home for a meal of Lambs Heart, one of our favourite dinners!

We went up to OTL to mug some of his dinner but poor lad, The Missus had given him Pork Pie and salad!

No wonder he was looking so glum! We rushed off to eat our dinner before he got the idea that lambs heart would be better than pork pie and salad!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly
