A Pretend Holiday with OTL in the Caravan

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here again.

When we went out this morning we couldn't see the sea! Old Two Legs said it was there but we couldn't see it anywhere!

It was Misty Everywhere!

The sun was up and shining down on us but it had trouble getting through the mist!

So we had a wander along, woofing at the sea but no one woofed back!

Is there any Woofin body there?

Even the breakwater seemed to fade into the mist!

Gone into the Mist!

Back home we had a nibble for breakfast then set about going On Holiday.

We had packed our nibbles and a drink and a sun lounger and our sun glasses plus some sun block!

Off we marched into the caravan, OTL opened all the blinds and the roof blinds as well.

We pretended we were on holiday and Holly had a snooze on the seats while I jumped up onto the bed for my snooze.

It was a bit noisy 'cos OTL was sloshing suds all over the roof and washing all the Winter muck off the van.

He said there was a load of pigeon poo and some sea gull poo as well.

He was working hard all morning, just on the roof and satellite dish!

We asked him to stop at lunch time so he can take us down the Sea Wall again. The mist was still there but at least the tide had come in, so we saw the sea!

Back home it was back to work for OTL while we rested on top of the cushions and woofed at anyone who passed the window!

It wasn't until late that he finally finished the walls and the front and the back. It doesn't look too bad but he's got to have another go at the roof 'cos the bird poo won't all come off!

We went out again and this time it was a run around the New Park, we stayed away from the Swimming Hole and instead chased a new ball we brought with us!

Pesky Ball Keeps Running Away!

We also met up with a Wire Haired Fox Terrier called Daisy!

Do You Know My Mum?

We had a chat and said that our mum was a Wire Haired Fox Terrier and asked Daisy if she knew her but she said she didn't but wasn't it good that we both had the same name!

Off we went again, running and chasing the ball, in the end I was exhausted and had to have a lie down for a while, well, it gave Holly and OTL time to catch up!

Just resting!

Back home to a Doggy Din's Dinner which we may finish a bit later if we don't manage to mug OTL for his dinner!

F1 Race tomorrow, so we are looking forward to watching that.

Poor OTL has to have another go at the caravan, so we may have another 'Pretend' holiday, just to keep him company!

Bye bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Lost Buoy on the Beach

Hello Woofers,

It's Daisy & Holly back again!

Another sunny day, I reckon that we have skipped the Spring and gone straight onto Summer!

We have even been sun bathing in the garden, before our morning walk!

Down on the Sea Wall, we saw the Wheatear again perched on top of the bushes singing away.

We had a bit of a shock, there we were having our normal sniff by the Sea Wall End when up pops this Two Legs and says Boo!

What you doing Mister?

Holly jumped back and did one of her 'Special Woofs' but the Two Legs just laughed and carried on ferreting around in the stones!

Then, just along a bit, exactly where 'The Barrel' had been, lurking behind the wave breaker was...............another barrel thingy!

Another One!!!

Old Two Legs had a closer look and declared it was a 'Marker Buoy' that had lost it's bit of rope to keep it in one position on the sea.

Bumpy Bumpy down the beach!

OTL had an even  closer look, then kicked it, and it rolled down the beach, bumping a couple of times and landed close to where the mud starts.

Bye bye Buoy!
There it sat waiting for the tide to come back in!

When we came back at lunch time, it had gone! Washed away on the tide to join The Barrel and maybe the tree on a trip around the world!

Gone!
OTL was in luck, we saw some Long Tailed Tits and a Kestrel.

Another Long Tailed Tit Looking The Other Way!
So OTL was happy, even if the pictures leave a lot to be desired!

It's That Kestrel Again!

Our planned 'Adventure' had to be put off 'cos OTL had to do some 'Manufacturing' this afternoon, so we took the opportunity to catch up on our snoozing!

Tomorrow we are going to help OTL wash the caravan, well he washes and we sit inside telling him he missed a bit!

Bye bye for now!

Daisy & Holly

Spring is here!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here again!

What a super sunny morning again! The Weather Man on the TV says there will be no rain for at least a week!

Now that's OK by us, but Old Two Legs looked at the calender and said that could mean a wet Easter!

He is such a Ray Of Sunshine, sometimes!

I thought I saw Pirates sailing up the Thames this morning and stopped to take a good look.

My 'What The....?' Dance

Holly calls it my 'What The ........? Dance'. She is jealous 'cos she can't stay standing as long as I can.

She keeps falling over!

Well, the pirate ship turned out to be a Tanker on it's way up river.

Holly was wandering along the Wall and sniffed at the branch with the sea weed on it, 'Hey' she says, 'You would have thought this tree would have decided where it wants to be and put roots down by now!'

I'm sure I've seen this before!'

I reckon that the tree was on a 'World Tour' and only stopped here for the Winter and now it was working it's way up North!

A bit later we mugged OTL for some of his lunch and reminded him of his promise to take us to the New Park. So, off we went, in the car, singing our driving songs and blowing raspberry's at the lorry drivers!

We were off chasing our ball as soon as we got there and as it was a warm sunny day, we went to the 'Swimming Hole' to see who was around.

Not Much Further!

It was fun having a paddle and OTL was throwing our ball in the water so I could paddle out to get it.

All of a sudden a big dog came bounding into the water and pinched the ball!  He called himself 'The Phantom Ball Nicker', that was until his owner put him on a lead and took him away!

Phantom Ball Nicker!

That sorted him out!

Finally, OTL threw the ball just a little too far and we lost the ball as it drifted into the deep water where I don't go!

After that we had a long run around the path OTL calls 'The Orchard', it's about two and a half miles around the path and Holly and me were playing 'Chase' and 'Tail Twisting'.

High Speed Tail Grab & Twist!
We were so worn out we just had to have a sit down half way around!

As we were sitting on the bench OTL took our pictures and showed us what he had taken, I was amazed, my fur had grown and was looking a mess!

Not my best side?

I decided that it was time I had a hair cut and Holly said she looked a bit scruffy as well!

Shampoo & Set needed!

Mind you, that didn't stop Holly getting a kiss from a passing Westie as we headed back to the car!

Holly can be a right Tart sometimes!

Holly The Tart!

I must admit, we slept most of the way back and I've spent most of the evening snoozing as well!

So it's bye bye for now and we'll see you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly (Self Confessed Scruff Bag & A Tart!)

OTL visits the Two Legs Vet!

Hi Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here again!

We had a good laugh today. You see Old Two Legs has reached the ripe old age of sixty five. With this age come loads of things, like a special Pass that lets him ride on the buses for free after everyone has gone to work!

Another 'Freebie' is he can get an injection that is supposed to keep away flu germs.

So, off he went to the Two Leg Vet Lady Nurse person who stabbed him with a needle that was the size of a broom handle and just as sharp!

According to OTL of course!

We said that he should have got some Worming Tablets at the same time, just to make sure!

Holly and me called him a 'Wimp' especially when he said he should go and have a lie down for an hour or two to get over it!

No way! We wanted our Walkies!

Off we went to the Sea Wall!

As soon as I got onto the beach I found an Egg Sack ball, these are the egg cases of the Common Whelk, and we got loads of Common Whelks here in North Kent!

Look Wot I Got!

Then of course, Holly just had to poke her nose into what I was doing, that ended up with a tussle over what was left of the Egg Sacks!

Sort of Salty Rice Krispys

Back home to allow OTL some R&R after his major operation!

After lunch, OTL had to deliver a big box of bits, so, we offered our services as Guard Dogs on the delivery van, sort of 'Riding Shotgun' for the OTL stage coach!

After the hazardous journey around the town we decided a little squirrel hunting was in order, providing Holly keeps her voice down. We don't want any trouble like yesterday!

A creep through The Forest was a bit disappointing,  we saw a couple of squirrels but they were high in the trees and showed no signs of coming down to earth where decent people live!

Towards the end of the walk, I spotted one bouncing along the ground. Trouble was, it was over the fence in Private Land which had a big notice on the tree that said 'Keep Out'!

I Spy With My Little Eye!

It's a good job they don''t expect us puppies to be able to read!

I got under the fence and went like a flash of light after the squirrel, it didn't help my 'Silent Approach' to have OTL shouting 'Come Back' over my shoulder!

Well, the squirrel got away, I hurt my back getting under the wire and OTL had to lift it up when I came back!

Holly and I decided that squirrel hunting is just too much like hard work, so we had a game of 'Pirates' on a big old tree that had fallen over!

The Good Ship Nutkin Sails Again!

We had fun singing Sea Songs and shouting things like ' Shiver Me Timbers' and 'Yo Ho Me Hearties' and then we pretended that OTL was a Treasure Ship and we chased him all the way to the Car Park!

Back home for a good afternoon snooze while OTL played about on the computer doing 'Important' things!

Tonight it's Chicken!

Not sure what is happening tomorrow, maybe another 'Adventure' but this time down the New Park, if we're lucky!

Bye bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Squirrels are 'a hiding!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with you.

What a super day, sun shine all day and a bit of squirrel hunting to pass the afternoon away!

This morning we went out a bit earlier than normal, which wasn't so bad really 'cos we got to have a good sniff around before all the other dogs arrived!

If you have too many dogs sniffin at one time, the sniffs gets all messed up!

We met up with the Closet Sea Gull and he had his mate with him. Holly asked if she didn't mind him wanting to be a Sea Gull instead of a Collared Dove?

'No' she said 'cos she has always fancied Sailors!

Hello Sailor!
A bit further on we met Chalky who was out for his morning stroll as well. We passed over some information on sniffs and he told us about a super sniff down by the Poo Bin. We had already sniffed that one on the way out so that was nothing new to us!

Yo Chalky!
This afternoon we decided that it would be a good idea to go to The Forest 'cos we hadn't chased a squirrel all week and it was already Tuesday!

Off we went and soon found the fresh sniff of squirrel where he had been digging for nuts.

Here is the Start!

We went charging off and it took a bit for Old Two Legs to keep up!

Finally we had the quarry in sight, half way up the tree, hanging on by it's claws and looking back down at us!

Then it shot around the other side of the tree and disappeared!

Do you think it'll come back?
We stood there for a bit waiting for the squirrel to return but it just sort of vanished into the air!

Holly was not a Happy Puppy and proceeded to mumble and grumble all the way up the hill. She was telling OTL and me, just what she was going to do to the next squirrel and how it had better keep out of her way or she was going to box it's ears and tie it's tail in knots!

Just then.

A little bit ahead of us.

On the other side of the log.

                                                                                                         Someone said.

In a deep, gruff voice...............................

You can call me Squirrel!
That was it! Holly sat down rather quickly, I jumped up on the fallen tree, then Holly jumped up right behind me!

That was one almighty large German Shepherd dog, all teeth, and a tongue you could use as a weapon!

He gave a chuckle and wandered around the tree, his tail had not disappeared from sight when his head appeared around the other side of the tree, and it was a big old tree as well!

Gi-normous just is not the right word to describe him!

Then he did a 'Squirrel' and seemed to disappear around the back of the tree.

Well, we wouldn't come down off our safe spot until OTL told us we were safe!

Is he still there?
I said that in future Holly should keep her opinions to herself!

Holly didn't say too much!

Back home we went to a safe place on the sofa cuddling up to OTL and The Missus.

Dinner tonight is, Lambs Hearts, of course, together with some Super Duper Doggy Mixer Biscuits, they smell like squirrel poo but if your hungry they are OK!

Bye bye for now!

See you tomorrow

Daisy & Holly

Lazy Day Today

Hi Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with you!

Today has been one of those, slow but fun days!

We went out for our normal walk this morning, didn't see any dogs at all, maybe they were still in bed!

We saw a couple of Black Headed Gulls on the breakwater, but they didn't hand around for too long.

Yahoo Gulls!

We kept an eye open for the Collared Dove but we think he went into town today to see some of his mates.

There was an Oyster catcher on the mud but he didn't say hello when we woofed to him as we went past.

Holly reckons he is a bit deaf!

With the tide being out the sea weed looked a deep shade of green,so Old Two Legs just had to take a picture!

Sea Weed Green!
Around the corner we met another Gull looking for his next meal, Holly joked that the Wormy Men had been and dug up all the worms!

That made the Gull angry, going on about having to bring up a family on minimum worm count!

All the best worms are gone!

Back home we have been sitting with OTL watching him cut up a load of cardboard that he will be sticking his photos on.

Sitting there with his 'measuring stick' drawing where he wants the hole to be, dead tricky stuff you know!

The Missus had gone over to The Boys today to do some baby sitting and won't be back until the morning!

That means we can get up on the bed with OTL and not get kicked off!

This evening we plan to watch a couple of DVD's, get the shortbread and the whisky out and maybe have a sing song as well!

Holly says she is looking forward to hearing OTL sing 'The Calico Printers Daughter' but she hopes OTL is going to sing the rude version, 'cos it's very funny!

See you tomorrow!

Daisy & Holly

It's Megan Rose, but does it taste Like Chicken?

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here!

Well, we are Not Happy!

After all our hard work yesterday thinking up names for the new baby, what has Auntie Zoe gone and done?

Ignored us and our suggestions!

She is calling the baby Megan Rose!

I don't know what a Megan is, but Rose is a flower, so we are half pleased with that.

The big question is............................does she taste like chicken?

Can Finley have a nibble and tell us?

Super Sunny morning today, The Missus was up very early to watch the racing and Holly, me and Old Two Legs stayed in bed snoozing!

When we all finally got out, we discovered it was sunshine and Balmy People!

Look at these two, they have their fishing rods out but the tide has gone out and won't be back for six hours!

Who Nicked The Sea?
We met up with the closet Sea Gull who really was a Collared Dove but wants to change colour! He also has got a taste for sea weed on the breakwaters!

Closet Sea Gull
Holly found another lump of Egg Sack and had a great time showing off her tricks.

First she worried it, then kicked it along a bit, then she jumped on it and pretended to bite it's head off!

Gotcha!
Then she started to kick it along the path and pretended she was Wayne Roony on a good day!

Goaaaaaaaal!
Gawd, you'd would have thought she had won the Cup Final all on her own!

The rest of the day was spent with Old Two Legs choosing his his pictures for his 'Portfolio'.

He's got so many pictures to sort out and so little time!

The whole package should be ready by next month and he has got to print them and mount them all fifteen of them!

Clever old stick he is!

Early to bed tonight all this motor racing has worn us out!

Bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Wet Walkies, F1 & A Funny Smelling Baby!

Yo Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here!

We have had a busy day today, so much to do!

First of all, we were woken up too early this morning by The Missus getting up and goig downstairs to watch the F1 Practice Sessions on the TV.

All we wanted to do was snooze but the sound of F1 cars racing around kept us awake. So, we woke Old Two Legs up to complain! Not that it did any good, he just went back to sleep again!

Our morning stroll along the Sea Wall was early as well! What was worse, it was raining! We had to put on our rain coats in case it got any wetter. Luckily, it didn't, but we did need our legs and tummy dried off when we got back to the car!

We saw the Corvid Family having breakfast, so we both tried chasing them, just for fun and I even lost my coat doing it!

Nearly Gotcha!
As I'm the faster runner, I was ahead of Holly and I only just missed them!

Next time I'll get them good and proper!

It was then that we heard laughter coming from on top of the hill, it was Barney laughing at us. 'You're Just Not Fast Enough Girls!'

Not Fast Enough Girls!
Then he tried showing us how to leap up in the air from a standing start, a sort of 'Let The Force Be Under You!'

Look, Bend the Knees Like This!
Well we tried it but couldn't get the hang of it at all! So we said we gotta go 'cos we're off to see what the new baby taste like!

Barney said that if it tastes like the new baby he knows, it will be all smelly and making loads of noise!

We said we would let him know!

After lunch, off we went to see the new baby and Auntie Zoe. When we got there, loads of people were all cooing and cuddling the baby. We got shut in the kitchen with a chew and a bowl of water. Not exactly the best welcome we've had in the past!

We had some fun with Finley, he came and tried out our mobile day bed but decided it was too lumpy for him!

Sorry, it's just Not Me!
Of course, the baby got passed around the family for a cuddle, OTL was on hand for the photo's.

First Cuddle for TM!
Even Tom got to have a cuddle, but we weren't sure if he understood what he was supposed to do! Mind you, the football was on the TV and I think he was having trouble concentrating on both jobs!

Hey Cuz! It's a goal kick!
So, we never got to taste the new baby, but I'm sure there is plenty of time yet, chicken, turkey or beef or fish, it's got to be one or the other!

We thought it funny when Finley said he was fed up with all the attention the baby was getting and decided to watch Peppa Pig on the iPad instead!

Peppa Pig is Bacon!
So far the baby has not been given a name, so we suggested they call it Daisy or Holly or Peppa!

It's getting late, so we are off to bed now.

See you tomorrow, about six when the F1 race starts!

Bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Clear the Decks, OTL is planning to work this Weekend!

Hi Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here with you again!

After I posted the blog last night I settled down to a good snooze in the 'Day Bed' but got woken up by The Missus banging doors and running up and down the stairs, she was getting ready to go to bed, at nine thirty!

Anyway, with TM upstairs, that left Old Two Legs and Holly downstairs, Holly chewing on her favorite chew and OTL watching some film on the television.

Now, this chew Holly has is one she keeps carrying around with her all the time. She even takes it out in the garden when she wants a wee! So, it is my job to get it off her and tucked up in my bed!

I start of by laying down in front of her and wag my tail. (Invitation to a little game?).

No movement.

Then I start to 'talk' to her, to you that would sound like me doing a low down grumble and a bit of a whine.

Still no movement.

Then I jump onto OTL's lap and do the same from there, adding a 'woof' or two just for good measure!

Still no movement.

Next I jump down, walk up to her and 'Paw' the chew away from in front of her.

Quick as a flash, she leaps forward, picks up the chew, grumbles seriously at me and runs behind the chair!

Gotcha!

A quick whine while standing at the back door gets OTL up and me and Holly shoo'd into the garden for our late night wee.

OTL grabs the chew from Holly as she heads out the door.

Out I dash, have a quick wee while Holly is still sniffin the air, then back again inside, grabbing the chew off the coffee table on my way back up to bed!

Mission Accomplished!

I reckon I'm pretty clever sometimes!

This morning I found she had sneaked into my bed and pinched it back again!

She can be just as sneaky sometimes!

We went for a walk along the Sea Wall and the first thing we spotted was.............No Barrel!

Barrel Gone Walkabout!
We reckon it has gone for a wander around the country side looking for other interesting things to do, like hunting chews!

A bit further on we were descended upon by Barney, 'Wheeeeeeee! Girlies' he called and almost landed on Holly and me while we were having a sniff of something interesting!

Wheeeee!!!!!

Barney had got a new ball and was chasing about with it and sometimes letting his owner throw it for him to chase.

Holly and I surprised him by chasing after the ball at the same time!

Quick get it!

It soon got into a game of 'chase and shove'!

OK, Let's Get Him!

Then OTL got our ball out and Barney tried to grab them both!

Holly and Barney got into some 'Discussions' about ownership of both balls.

Negotiations!

Which developed into 'Meaningful Discussions!'

I said, Drop It Lanky!

Followed by 'The Ultimatum!'

You keep him busy and I'll bite his tail!

That did it, we got our ball back!

Back home for breakfast and a snooze.

Lunch time we were out again and this time we saw the First Wheatear of the year arrive on the Sea Wall. It looked all super smart in it's new plumage. So we are going to keep our eyes open for the rest of the flock who must be following close behind!

First Wheatear this year!
I spotted the Wormy Man out on the mud digging away before the tide came back in.

Wormy Man!

Holly spotted a 'Wormy Curlew' also digging away for all its worth before the tide came in!

Holly's Wormy Curlew

We are off to see the new baby tomorrow, not sure if we will be allowed anywhere near it, Holly might want to have a taste!

We have left OTL up in his office, tidying up the work tops, we think he is planning to do some work on his 'Portfolio' for an award he hopes to get sometime in the next year!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly
