Twice around The Forest and Back for Dinner!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with more adventures!

This morning we woke Old Two Legs up early, just for fun! Both Holly and I jumped onto the bed after The Missus had got up.

We sneaked up to his head that was poking out from under the duvet and gave his ears a good licking!

After he woke up, we crept down to the bottom of the bed and fell asleep!

Success!

Our walk down on The Sea Wall was a little misty, not very cold but lacking in other interesting stuff!

I mean, all we saw were two Shellduck racing along above the beach looking for a place to land 'cos the tide was right up to the top of the beach!

Looking for a place to land!
After lunch we went with OTL down to The Forest, more squirrel chasing and sniffin for Foxes!

About half way around OTL got a call on his mobile phone, it was TM jumping up and down 'cos OTL had taken the small car. Seems she had to go off baby sitting and needed the car!

OTL did suggest she find her bus pass and go that way but it didn't go down too well.

So, that was it, only half way around our walk and we were on our way home all glum and unhappy with our day!

It was bad enough being served Doggy Scoff this morning instead of real food but to have our walk shortened was just too much!

OTL drove home and as we pulled up outside, TM came rushing out of the front door. OTL got out of the car and opened up the big car and told us to 'Get In!'

To our surprise and great joy, off we went back to The Forest again!

Off we went, sniffin for squirrels and chasing foxes and we didn't even show off when OTL wanted to take pictures of the Bluebells again!

A carpet of Bluebells.
Both Holly and me were really impressed with OTL, he managed to creep up on a squirrel who was digging up some nuts he had hidden. OTL got really close and it was only the camera noise that scared the squirrel off!

A Squirrel and Bluebells!
We will be glad when the warm weather comes back 'cos at the moment the paths keep going all boggy and it gets between the pads on our feet and OTL has to spend time cleaning our feet before getting in the car!

Dry to the left, boggy to the right!
We hear that tomorrow there will be rain down here, so we hope it will all fall on us over night, that way the ground will be wet but we won't get soaked by the rain when we go out in the morning!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Hunting Cats and other Things!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again!

When we go for our walks with Old Two Legs, there is a 'Standard' procedure we go through when leaving the house.

First of all OTL makes us sit down while he puts the lead on us, as he says, it is not as though he doesn't trust us to go straight to the car, it's just that he doesn't trust us!

We sit down and start to get excited, Holly is doing her 'Come On' woof and I am having a little whine and trying to push in front of everyone!

OTL, having got in front, opens the door and us doggies fly out!

Our little paws hardly touching the ground, we dash into the bottom of a big conifer tree in the front garden. Now, we know that the local cats hide under the tree when it rains or is getting cold.

Holly and I go crashing into the tree, woofing and howling like Banshee's on the hunt!

The cats try to scatter in all directions, bumping into the tree, the branches, each other and the brick wall separating our garden from next door!

There is howling from the cats, woofing from us, 'ouching' from the cats, snarling from us, yowling from the cats and thuds from the wall!

You would have thought by now they would have learned the lesson of 'Don't hang about in our Tree!'

Cats must be really stupid!

The morning walk was OK, not a lot happening, Holly found a bit of 'Decking' from an old sailing ship and said that we could build a boat and sail the seas looking for Cat-amarans, instead of looking up trees for the cats!

We can build a boat!
OTL thought that joke was terrible but it didn't stop him from laughing!

We saw a Wheatear flying along the Sea Wall and landing on the railings!

Wheatear.
We also saw the Kestrel hanging on the wind looking for voles and mouses with a death wish!

Here Mousy Mousy!

Our afternoon run was great, we went down to The Forest again and OTL was looking for Jays but they didn't come close enough to get a good photo.

A passing Green Woodpecker stopped for a moment to see what we were doing, but he didn't stay long 'cos he was busy looking for dinner!

Can't stop, dinner is calling!
I found some more Bluebells but Holly said we should not tell OTL or he will be hanging around for ages trying to take a picture!

Better not tell OTL!
We shouldn't have bothered, he was trying to stalk a couple of Jays that were flying  around the trees, first OTL went left and then he went right and then he sat down to wait, so, we still had to wait for him!

Waiting for OTL, Again!
While we were sitting there, waiting, Holly whispered, 'Look Up!' I did, and there, sitting on a branch was a young squirrel nibbling a nut!

Nuts to You!
Hey, says Holly, come down and let us share a nibble of your nut!

The squirrel didn't think that a good idea, instead all she did was to carry on nibbling and say 'Nuts!' to us!

Holly said that she would climb up and unscrew the squirrels tail if she didn't show some 'Respect' to us.

To which, the squirrel blew a big, long, loud, wet, raspberry at us and tossed a nut shell down at Holly, saying 'Nibble on That Then!'

Raspberries to you!
Well, now we have her picture we will be able to recognise her if ever we catch her on the ground!

Back home for a snooze before dinner then a warm cuddle with OTL while we mug him for a nibble of his shortbread!

Bye bye for now, see you tomorrow.

Daisy & Holly

Monday and not rain until later!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here!

Wot a Super Day today! No rain, no Cold and Long Walks! Well in the morning anyway!

It makes a change to feel the sun on your back even if there is a small breeze blowing as well!

We went down to the Sea Wall and met up with a new doggy, his name is Bobby and he is a show off!

Well he doesn't get let off the lead much and doesn't get to meet other dogs off the lead, so, he doesn't know all the signals.

Like, Tail Sniffin and 'Chase' and not to show off unless you are good at it!

First of all he took Holly by surprise and got a quick Woof for his troubles, then he tried showing off and got told wot by Holly!

Look! I can stand on my front Paws!
Still, I suppose that if you don't know the rules you will make a Plonker of yourself!

We saw Mr Corvid looking for some snails, he said that after all that rain the snails and worms should be floating on the grass!

Mr Corvid Hunting Snails.
Holly reckons the snails are crunchy to eat but taste a bit funny plus they are not good for us dogs 'cos they got wormy things that could turn us blind!

On our way back to the car we met up with Vinny, now here is another dog that doesn't get off the lead much and also gets too excited when he does!

Vinny!
He got the Short Shrift from me and a Woof with Snap from Holly! He's pretty harmless really and we ended up having a game of 'Chase' before running off to chase rabbits!

Driving back Old Two Legs suddenly drove off the side of the road and wound down the car window. We thought it was a 'Troublesome Thing' that was about to attack us, so both Holly and I rushed to the window, stood on OTL's lap and set up our 'Defensive Woofing Barrier'.

OTL was struggling to get his camera in between us woofin puppies then started to take pictures!

We couldn't at first see what he was snapping at, then we saw it, a Hen Harrier flying over the marsh looking for food!

Boring or Wot!

Marsh Harrier!
Back home for a brush, breakfast and a snooze in the back garden in the sun!

Lunch time we were down The Forest again searching for Squirrels and Jays. We found a few squirrels and even saw a couple of Jays but neither of them hung around to pass the time of day with us!

Mr Jay in the Tree Tops!

Holly and I got a good running start on one squirrel.

Chaaaaaaaaarge!
It got away, but only just, it turned left and we turned right!

It Gone?
It was good fun, and the sun was still shining down, so we have our paws crossed for sun shine for the rest of the week!

That was until late this afternoon. We had to get some stuff down to the carriers late afternoon, so, off we went with OTL and then on the way home, we stopped at the Sea Wall for a last bit of a run before going to bed.

Guess what? It started to rain again! It started slowly and then got worse and wetter and windy!

We even had to cut our run short, just to get out of the rain!

Then to make things worse, we got an email from the caravan site owner saying it would be too wet for caravans this weekend, so our booking was cancelled!

Holly and I will now have to sit down and work out a cunning plan to get The Missus and OTL out for day time visits to interesting places!

I wonder if Mr Goodes has got Internet access in the hospital? If he has, a big get well soon woof from both Holly and me, and Barney as well!

Bye bye for now, see you tomorrow.

Daisy & Holly

Sunday, Rain Day!

Yo Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with you again.

Wot a day! This morning we went out for our normal promenade along the Sea Wall, instead we were blown back, soaked to the skin and blown almost inside out!

Well, we did our business in double quick time, in fact it could even be a record!

Then as we turned to go along the Sea Wall Path I jumped up and saw the car back in the car park, 'Hey! Holly!' I called 'There's the car, lets go Home!'

Look What I See!
That was it, we both ran up the path and stood round the back of the car where we normally get in.

It didn't take Old Two Legs long to find us and he was laughing and called us 'A Pair of Wimps'

Wimps or not, at least we're not Stupid!

Back home for a warm cuddle and a snooze in our Day Bed until lunch time!

We looked into the back garden and saw a Collared Dove sitting on the Bird Feeder, he was not a Happy Birdy, poor thing looked Cold, Wet and Miserable!

Not Happy!
What made it worse was the feeders were all empty!

This afternoon the sun came out for a little while, so off we went again for a walk and it made a change not to get wet!

This evening it was all cuddles and mugging OTL for nibbles!

We must wish Michael well for his operation tomorrow, he's off to get his sinuses sorted. That will mean he can enjoy the sniffs better than he can at the moment!

The Missus said that he will come back with two black eyes, does that mean he will look like one of those Panda's they have in the zoo?

Mr Goodes?
Bye bye for now!

Daisy & Holly

Wet Rain, Wet Weather, Wet Doggies!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here!

What a day! I reckon that if they managed to save all the rain that fell today, shove it into those reservoir thingy wotsit, the hose pipe ban will be over!

We went out first thing with Old Two Legs and it was raining and windy and we just were not having our normal fun.

We don't do Wet!
We tried telling OTL but he insisted we did the whole two mile run! We were soaked when we got back to the car but luckily he had got one of our Doggy Towels with him so after a rub down we didn't feel so bad.

It was even better when he put the heater blowers on and got the heated seat warmed up as well!

The morning was spent clearing up a few things in the office, our rawhide chews needed to be hidden and the teeth cleaning chews tucked under our bed blankets and of course, our squeaky toys needed to be put in the play box as well!

Lunchtime was no better as far as the weather was concerned, horizontal rain, no rabbits, no squirrels and no other dogs!

No Rabbits To Hunt!
We tried telling OTL we only want a short walk but did he listen?

Holly protesting!
Holly tried to tell him that she would rather have a snooze on the sofa but OTL was too busy trying to get a picture of a Black Headed Gull who was flying overhead!

Hey! I do Rain and Wind!
We got a bit further on and both Holly and I decided we had to take things into our own paws.

We ran ahead of OTL and then turned towards home at a short cut we know.

I Don't Care, I'm Going Home!
We both ran off and of course, OTL had to follow!

Soon we were back in the car, heater on, heated seats on, towel wrapped around us and OTL drying our tails!

Back home it was a pleasant afternoon, snoozing, mugging OTL for some of his lunch and having a chew on our rawhide chews!

We haven't seen tomorrows weather forecast but I reckon we got some more rain.

Roll on Summer!

OTL is going to take us away in the caravan again next week, let's hope the sun shines 'cos we don't fancy sitting in a caravan woofing at sheep all week!

Claws crossed for sun shine and that means you as well!

Bye bye for now and see you tomorrow!

Funtastic Friday!

Hi Woofers!

It's us again, Daisy & Holly back with you!

After yesterdays mooching around with nothing too exciting to do, we made up for it last night and today!

We spent some time in Old Two Legs office having a chew on our rawhide chews, making a noise by gnawing and banging the chew on the floor.

The Missus was not happy!

She came stomping into the office saying, 'Will you keep those dogs quiet!', then she stomped off to bed again.

OTL didn't take any notice, but he did close the office door and we just carried on chomping!

During the night I wanted to tell OTL about a dream I had dreamt about running on a beach but he was asleep. So, I very gently stroked the side of his face with my paw, unfortunately, I stroked a bit too hard and scratched his face, it was OK 'cos I started to lick the blood off his cheek but he turned over and told me to go back to bed!

Come the morning I'm sure he couldn't remember a thing, but he did have two scratch marks on his cheek!

The sun was shining and the wind was gentle when we went out for our morning walk.

We first met up with a noisy little Bozzo who just could not stay still, we think he doesn't get out too much! In the end he flopped down in front of OTL and said 'I'm Whacked!'

I'm Whacked!
Next thing we knew was a Big HELLOOOO Girlies! and Barney came crashing into us!

HELLOOOO!!!!
Holly walked up to him and said 'Bonjour Monsieur Barney, comment allez-vous?'

Well, I nearly fell back onto my tail! Holly talking French!

Barney replied 'Bonjour Miss Holly, vous regardez belle ce matin ensoleillé!'

Holly got all embarrassed and I said 'What did he say?'

Dunno, says Holly but he sure does know a lot of French!

As we were walking back to the car I asked Holly how she knew how to speak in French and she said that last night she had been woken up by someone talking about running on a sandy beach. So she had gone into the office and had found a translation site on the Internet and had learnt some things in French!

That Holly Dog can be clever, sometimes!

Lunch time came and OTL was off to the carrier to send off some stuff, so, next stop, The Forest!

Squirrel Hunters is Us!

Hunting Squirrel!
We managed to chase three squirrels but as normal they were too far away to stand a chance of catching them but it was still good fun trying!

We were stalking through the forest and we came upon an arch made out of a couple of trees. Holly said it was the Woodland Folk making a doorway to the forest and OTL said it was a bit too big for a Fairy Arch and maybe it was a Witches Front Door!

Who's door is this?
Holly and I stayed away from it, just in case!

OTL spotted a Mistle Thrush up in the tree and took a picture, not a brilliant picture but he had trouble deciding if it was a Mistle or a Song Thrush, in the end the size and lack of Yellow Buff colouring on the chest decided it.

Mistle Thrush
Holly asked if it tasted like Chicken?

Due to the lack of squirrels, OTL wandered off and found a Fairy Arch made of Bluebells, but we said that we thought his imagination was running wild again!

Boring Bluebells!
It was good to be out in the sun shine and the smell of the forest growing. The Woodpeckers were banging away on the tree trunks and making a dreadful din!

After all the chasing Holly said we had Run Out of Squirrels! OTL thought that was funny!

We've Run Out of Squirrels!
Back home to a prospect of mugging OTL for some of his dinner then curl up on the sofa for a cuddle and a snooze!

Life is good!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

OTL's Been Working Again!

Hi All You Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with you again!

Thursday has been a bit of a nothing day today.

First of all we were woken up too early and made to go walkies far too early in the morning!

The wind was blowing and it felt a little cold as well!

There was nothing much to see, no dogs to play with and all Old Two Legs could manage was a landscape, or should it be a seascape, of a cargo vessel coming in on the morning tide!

Catch the Morning Tide.
All dark and moody, just like us!

We didn't even find any rabbits to chase and when we did find a sniff, we couldn't decide which way it went anyway!

Well I Say It Went In Here!
We got home and almost as soon as we got in the door, OTL was out and running!

Seems like he had a lot to do and couldn't take us with him, which was a real shame 'cos we love going for a drive in the car with him, even if we don't get to go for a walk!

He did say that he would be climbing all over the place inside a building where he keeps his stuff and doggies were not allowed to be in there. So, we forgave him this time!

We spent most of the day snoozing and guarding the house until he came back, then we had another run on The Sea Wall before going back home for some diner.

A cuddle with OTL and bed, that's how to finish the day!

See you tomorrow, OTL has promised a run down The Forest to chase those Pesky Squirrels!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

The Return of Monsieur Barney!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again!

What a day! We went out with Old Two Legs this morning for our normal run along the Sea Wall.

We should have guessed that something was up 'cos he dressed us up in our winter coats and got out his protective cover for his camera.

Out the front door we went and it was raining, not much, not enough for our coats, but what the heck, it made a a change!

That was until we got down to the Sea Wall, it was blowing a gale down there and the rain felt like it was shot from a gun!

Hey! This is Horizontal Rain!
Well, that was it, we didn't fancy a long run this morning and pretty quickly both Holly and I had done what we needed to do and were pointing our noses towards the car!

OTL either didn't read our signals right or he had decided he wanted to get really wet!

We went a bit further on and then he turned around and headed for the short cut home!

As we got to the bit where OTL puts our lead on we heard 'WHEEeeeeeeeeee Girlies!'

Crashing through the weeds came Barney, back from his holiday!

Bonjour les filles!
He made a fuss of OTL then turned to us and said 'Bonjour les filles avez-vous eu un Wee-Wee?'

Holly looked at him and said 'Wot?'

Barney said it was what they spoke in the South of France where he had been. It was super warm and the sun shone most of the time!

I said we could do with some of that sunshine here 'cos we don't like the rain, too cold and wet!

Barney said he would catch up with us later and tell us some stories of his holiday!

We were glad to get back to the car where OTL gave us a rub down to get rid of most of the rain that had stuck to us. Trouble was, he also was soaked to his skin and when we got home he had to change all his clothes!

The morning was spent having a wander between the lounge and OTL's office.

Lunch time came and we looked out the window, yep, still raining!

Well OTL had to deliver some stuff so we agreed to go with him and providing it wasn't pouring down with rain, we would have a walk.

It poured down for most of the time we were delivering but it stopped just as we got to The New Park!

Off we went, I asked OTL if he had brought any balls with him to throw but there were none in the car, so we just had to put up with sniffin and running!

We said 'Hello' to the watchers and as normal, they said nothing, they just carried on watching!

Hello Mr & Mrs Watcher.
Then we said 'Hello' to the cows in the field and one came over and asked if we had any nibbles she could have 'cos she was getting fed up with wet grass all the time. Seems like it keeps giving her wind!

Got Any Nibbles?
I said that Holly gets like that after eating grass as well!

Holly said that OTL should take a picture of the cows eye, just for Mike. So here it is!

One for Mike!
There was a Rook sitting on the fence post having a groom and OTL was walking towards it with his camera up to his eye, sort of stalking thing he does with birds. We just ran along side the fence to see him but he flew away, just as OTL was getting close.

I'm getting ready to Fly!
We said sorry! Holly wanted to know if its song was like the Cuckoo but sort of Rook-Koo?

Holly found a big puddle, so we both had a paddle, until OTL told us we were 'Mucky Puppies' and we had to get out!

Puddles are for paddling in!
On our way back to the car I spotted a couple of big mean looking dogs coming towards us, so I did my trick of getting OTL to pick me up and sit me on his shoulder and as they came closer, I let off a load of big brave 'Woofs' and OTL told me off for doing that and Holly came running up, laughed and called me a Big Woofing Scaredy Cat!

Scaredy Cat!
Back home to some more nibbles and a cuddle with OTL and who knows, we may get him to get out the Shortbread tonight!

Bye bye for now, see you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

No Cuckoos Today!

HI HO Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here.

This morning we couldn't wait to get down to the Sea Wall to hear the Cuckoo again but when we got there, he had gone!

Is That a Cuckoo?
We ran up and down the path going 'Cook-Koo, Cook-Koo' but nothing happened.

Cook Woofin Koo!
Old Two Legs said it possibly had gone to Northwood Hill (RSPB) place or even The Forest.

So, we have decided that at lunch time OTL and us are off to the woods!

Breakfast was a little uninspiring today, Doggy Scoff, I don't know why The Missus gives it to us, we only eat it if we are starving and on our last legs!

So, as a protest, we decided to stay on the sofa while TM does her cards and we give her the 'Hairy Eyeball' and do deep sighs and every so often, a small hungry whine.

That was useless, she is a hard hearted Missus sometimes, no Lambs Liver, no Lambs Heart, No Chicken, no Minced Lamb, oh dear, I think we are going to starve to death tonight!

OTL took pity on us and we got three runs out today, twice to The Sea Wall and once down to The Farm, where we haven't been for ages!

We investigated all the fox holes and the rabbit holes and Holly saw a fox across the field and went racing across to sort it out but the fence was in the way, so all we could do was woof at the fox!

Foxy's Gone!
We took the long route and must have covered at least three miles, but as the sun was out and the rain had gone away, it was great fun!

OTL took some pictures of the Bluebells, again, you'd think by now he had got enough pictures!

Funny Daffodils!
One of the good things about The Farm is we can run off into the woods and we always know where we are and how to catch up OTL as he staggers up the hills!

It's a Long Way Back to The Car!
Some times we hide and wait until he has blown that whistle inside out before we jump out of the trees and rush past him!

You Calling Me????
As we got closer to the car we came across a field of grass that they sometimes graze sheep on but today it looked a bit 'Wobbly'

OTL says that they had a wonky wheel on the lawn mower but Holly says it was done by a 'Wonky Farmer' who's wheel fell off ages ago!

Wobbly or Wonky?
Back home we found that the Doggy Scoff was still in our bowls and it still didn't look edible!

Maybe tonight we will have to do some serious mugging of OTL, he has got curry tonight so I think we got a fight on our paws 'cos he does like his curry!

Bye bye for now and let's hope the sun keeps shining tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Our First Cuckoo this Year!

Hi Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here!

Guess what? We have heard the first Cuckoo calling this morning! We got out of the car by The Sea Wall and there is was belting out the familiar call!

Where's The Cuckoo!
Holly and I tried to copy its call but Old Two Legs says that we still sound like 'Woofers'!

Super run this morning, the wind was blowing but not too much and the sun was shining , but not too much, in fact a very pleasant walk indeed.

When we got home we saw that the small car was back and as we got closer to the front door we could smell traces of The Missus on the path. When we got into the hallway, it was there, loads of TM sniffs!

OTL let us off the lead and opened the door and in we flew, TM got a big wet ear licking as a welcome!

Lunch time walk was not good, in fact if it were not for the fact that last nights 'Doggy Scoff' was making a rumbling in my tummy, I would have stayed in doors!

It was raining, it was wet, it was cold, it was cold, wet and rainy and it rained on us!

We got back to the car, got towelled down and the car heater put on 'Full Blast'!

TM had gone again by the time we got back, more baby sitting, so we didn't get a chance to give her a lick on the ear whilst we were all damp and smelling of Dog!

She loves it really!

This afternoon was spent catching up on our snoozes and letting OTL get on with paying his suppliers. We always know when he does that 'cos he sobs hysterically every time he makes a BACS payment!

Poor Thing!

TM came back a bit late this evening so all we had time to do was to say 'Hello' and go back to our 'Before Bed Snooze'!

See you tomorrow and let's hope the rain stops because if it doesn't, we will have floods instead of a drought!

Bye bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly
