It Hurt!!!!!

Hello Woofers!

Damaged Daisy & Happy Holly here again.

That's it, I'm never going near that vet's place again!

Every time I go there I get hurt, if it's injections, operations, stitches out, I get hurt  and come out with something on me that is sore!

In we go, Holly gets zapped and up comes her number and Old Two Legs makes note of it.

The vet calls out my name and in we go, Holly stays on the floor, I get lifted up onto the table, get the 'Once Over' with probing fingers and cold stethoscope on my tummy!

Then he gets out this enormous great needle on a syringe, it looked the size of a drain pipe! OTL had to hold me while I got stabbed with this monstrous weapon of war!

IT BLOOMING WELL HURT!

It HURT so much that I struggled in OTL's arms and no matter what he said, I still struggled.

That's the last time he's doing that to me, if I see that vet again I'll bite his bottom and pee on his boots!

To add insult to injury, OTL had to pay them more money, he was not a 'Happy Puppy' either!

By the time we got home it had stopped hurting but the spot was still sore, so OTL left off brushing me on that part of my shoulders.

Our lunch time run down on the beach was fun, the sun was out and it felt good!

Both Holly and I were running around,
 laughing at everything!

Even OTL was laughing as well.

Just shows you what sun shine can do!

Later on, we had to go out delivering stuff and as a treat, we went in the big car, more space and the seats are softer!

We ended up at The Forest and had a surprise as we went through the gate. There was a notice on the fence telling us that we will have to share our forest with some Highland Cattle!

The Notice
Now don't get us wrong, we don't mind cattle, but, if the cattle start chasing the squirrels it will mean that they won't come down to the ground for us to chase!

Not that would worry OTL, all he wants is to take pictures of the flowers!

More of Them!
Until they arrive we will still keep on chasing them, when we can find them of course!

Watching for Squirrels!
Bye bye for now, see you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy (with a sore shoulder) & Holly!

I'm going to get Chipped!!!!

Hi Ho Woofers!

It's us again, Daisy Dog and Holly Dog!

This morning we went out and it wasn't raining! We even saw some sun shine creeping through the clouds!

Old Two Legs was trying to photograph the wind powered WhirllygigThingyWotsits out to sea and Holly got all excited about some Whelk egg sacks!

WhirllygigThingyWotsits
A Whelking Good Header!
I was up in the 'Stands' cheering her on with the chant of 'Ho-lly, Ho-lly!'

Ho-lly, Ho-lly, Ho-lly!!!!!!
 That made OTL laugh!

A bit further on we saw a Wheatear looking at a caterpillar and you could see the caterpillar getting into it's 'Fighting Stance'

You and Who's Army?
Didn't do any good though, the Wheatear wanted some breakfast.

One Less Butterfly!
We went off to chase rabbits but they had all gone back to bed!

OTL found some more fungi, this is really strange 'cos they should not come up until the Autumn time. Maybe it is because we have had too much rain and the fungi are getting all confused!

Seriously Confused Fungi!
Lunch time we had another run on the beach, Holly was running around chasing OTL and having a great time!

Holly having Fun!
I was off sniffin for rabbits!

When we got back home, OTL decided he would have another bash at digging the pond. Trouble is, the ground is rather wet, what with all the rain we've had over the last month or so. Being all wet and heavy, OTL's back started to ache a bit after a while, so he put the shovel back in the shed and came indoors.

Now, Holly and me have been having a discussion about all this hole digging. Why was it when we were young puppies, we were told off for digging in the garden!

I mean, if he had asked us, we could have dug him a nice big hole by now, complete with underwater caves!

Call this a Hole?
Let's face it, as far as digging holes goes, OTL should stick to playing on the computer!

OTL went back into his office and we heard him on the telephone talking to the 'Vet' about getting me 'Chipped' ????

I know I get my claws cut when I go for my 'Shampoo & Set', as OTL calls it but what is this Chipping?

Holly says she has been chipped when she was a little puppy and if she goes near to a Tesco Checkout, she can get the checkout to throw up a message on the screen that says 'Holly Dog £5000'!

In fact, anywhere there is a Bar Code Machine, Holly can appear!

I think that she is telling porkies, but we will find out tomorrow.

Off to have a snooze before dinner, roast chicken and biscuits followed by a carrot or two!

We know how to live!

Bye bye for now and keep your fingers crossed for tomorrow, I hope it doesn't hurt!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

It's Getting Warmer!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here.

Have you noticed that in the last two days it has felt warmer? I'm talking about the air temperature, not the rain!

We are still getting all wet and damp when we go out for a walk but it has the promise of better weather on the wind!

Holly on the other hand has been rather engrossed with Rabbit Hunting.

We went out this morning and there, in the middle of the path sat a big juicy rabbit.

A bit further on sat Mr Corvid.

Now What?
Holly stood there thinking, Mr Corvid said 'Run', the Rabbit said 'Wot?'

Mr Corvid said that he would have a chat with the rabbit while Holly sneaked up.

The rabbit said 'In your Dreams!'

So, Holly started to run and she flew like the wind down hill towards the rabbit.

The rabbit got up off it's bottom and just wandered into the bushes.

No Rabbit Stew today!

I was doing my 'Spotting Trick' and said that there was another rabbit over the other side of the bushes but Holly seemed to have lost all interest in Rabbits!

Look! There's Another!
After lunch we got Two Runs! One back around the Sea Wall but we didn't have time for long stroll 'cos The Missus wanted the car to go and do some Baby Sitting so we had to get back quickly.

After about an hour, Old Two Legs gets things all gathered together and we're off in the big car to the carriers and the Post Office then he had to take a load of stuff to the Accountant.

On the way back we stopped off at the Riverside Park!

It was good to get a good sniff of the beach again, back 'Sniffin The Sea Side Sniffs!'

Sniffin The Sniffs!
We went right up to the end and followed the path all the way back again exploring all the new sniffs!

Following The Sniffs!
Right at the end OTL spotted an Oyster Catcher sitting on the ledge, so OTL crept along behind a bush to get closer and then went for the shot!

I See You Too!
On the way back OTL spotted a Common Tern, first this year, so he was a 'Happy Bunny'!

Common Tern
The picture was not his best but have you ever tried catching a Common Tern in flight on a cloudy day!

Off back home and a wait for TM to arrive back!

Tonight we are off to bed early 'cos we are both tired little puppies!

Tomorrow, Rain, More Rain and Even More Rain!

Bye bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Rabbit Stew and Squirrel Pie

Hello Woofers!

It's us again, Daisy & Holly, the Dynamic Sisters!

Out this morning we bumped into Mr Corvid who was mooching around looking for breakfast. 'Hey!' he says, 'Why don't you catch a rabbit and then I can take home the bits you leave and make a Rabbit Stew?'

My recipe for Rabbit Stew is........
Holly and he had a discussion about how to do a tasty Rabbit Stew using everything except the fluffy tail!

So, fired up with enthusiasm, Holly went steaming off to chase the rabbits.

Holly missing the rabbit, again!
As you would expect, no rabbit and no rabbit stew!

Our lunch time walk took us to The Forest where I was going to get a Squirrel, just so I could have Squirrel Pie!

Well, we tracked them and chased them and run ourselves around in circles for ages!

A Rose Ringed Parakeet kept laughing at us and said we were too slow to catch a cold!

Holly suggested that he come down and we would explain all about chicken soup!

Quick, it's over there!
There were times when we go really close, like the time we spotted one hiding behind a tree trunk, trouble was, he was hiding from someone else!

Is it safe to come out yet?
We got near to the end of the forest path and spotted four squirrels on the ground, in we went but as soon as we got close, they all shot up the tree trunk, except one and he dived into a pile of logs.

He went under here!
Holly reckons that he was related to a rabbit 'cos we couldn't find him and we think he went down the rabbit hole!

Ho Hum! Back home to Lambs Heart and a nibble of a carrot!

One day, one day we will catch them!

Bye bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Super Day Today!

Hi Woofers!

D&H Back again!

What a Day! Loads to tell you!

First of all, the day started as normal, but without the rain!

We went off to The Sea Wall for our morning constitutional!

The tide was right out, so Old Two Legs got all 'Arty' with a shot of the mud!

Mud Art by OTL!

Then, as he stood up, a Swallow went zipping past his ear!

Swallows at Speed!
Holly and I had a great time playing 'Chase' and I kept grabbing her tail as we were running!

My Famous Tail Grab & Twist!
We met up with a doggy we had met before and he told us of a 'Funny Sniff' back down the path and asked if we would tell him what it was the next time we met.

It's Back There!
Down the path we met Sparky who just loves OTL, he was all over him like a rash!

Hello OTL!
Holly thought she spotted a rabbit down by the bushes, so we raced down to find.........Nothing!

Wot Rabbit!
We got home and had some breakfast and a snooze, only to wake up to OTL doing some serious damage to the garden!

Now we know that OTL does some daft things but what will The Missus say when she spots this?

OTL's Upside Down Hill Fort!
Out comes TM and seems delighted! Wot? OTL not in Trouble?

It seems that TM has a thing about water and wants a pond in the garden, she has been after one for years and at one time she had a little water fall ornament thing in the house but the sound of the water pouring down the ornament kept on making her go to wee, so that got switched off!

So, it seems that it will take some time to get the pond dug, lined and sorted , even before the water goes in! So it looks like we have a long story to tell about our new pond, it could take until next year!

This afternoon we went down to The New Park!

We haven't been down there for ages, so it was good to have a run around catching up on the sniffs.

OTL even found some Fungi growing, he says it's because we have had so much rain and cold that the Fungi think its Autumn!

Summer Fungi!
There were loads of dogs we haven't met and we said 'Hello' to them on our way down to the swimming hole.

There was an old dog down there that had suffered a couple of strokes and said that he wished he could go swimming in the hole but his owner would only let him paddle by the shore!

A Few Years Ago I Would Go Swimming For This!
OTL threw the ball in the water and of course, I went swimming to get it out again!

I'm Swimming Again!
We didn't stay too long 'cos as much as I like the water, it was getting cold, so we ran back to the car where OTL put the heating on so I didn't get too cold before we got home.

I am going to have an early night tonight 'cos I am whacked after all that swimming and running!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

We Wish To Register A Complaint!

Hi Woofers!

Damp Daisy & Dripping Holly!

It's Wet Again!

I don't know what has gone wrong with the weather, but let's face it, IT'S MAY!

We should be having sunshine and balmy breezes, warm evenings and bright fresh mornings!

What have we got?

Wet!
Cold Paws, Wet Tails, Soggy Bellies, Damp Noses!

Holly and me are going to complain to the weather men and get them to send us some sun shine!

Even the Kestrel was complaining about the rain, seems that it washes away the tell tale tracks the voles leave as they run along their little ally ways.

It's The Kestrel Again!
Old Two Legs couldn't get in front of the Kestrel, so he had to sneak up behind him!

OTL can be sneaky like that sometimes!

Back home we got a good towel down and a super brush before diving off to our Day Bed for a snooze before lunch!

OTL decided that come Rain or Shine he was going to get down The Forest again, he wanted to go to Canterbury Marshes but it would have been too 'Quaggy' underfoot and he would have been spending all his time slipping over in the mud!

So, after lunch, we got our rain coats and a fresh towel and headed off to The Forest.

First thing OTL did was to start taking pictures of the woodland flowers, boring or wot!

Woodland Flowers, Again!
He just can't think of anything original!

Boring!Boring!Boring!Boring!
Holly and I went off chasing Squirrels, far more interesting and a bit more exercise!

I See One!
All of a sudden, OTL went into 'Stalking Mode' and proceeded to creep along, hiding behind trees and under branches, keeping his camera up to his face. (Well it hides the bald head and white cheeks!)

Then, crouching down, he sneaked alongside some bushes and hid behind a tree trunk.

Then he pointed his camera up to the top of a very big tree and..........took a picture of a Cuckoo!

Cuckoo in the tree top!
Not the best shot we have ever seen but good enough for proof of sighting!

While OTL was looking for more birds, Holly and I spotted someone walking towards us.

There, in the middle of the path, looking all mean and hungry, stood three Rottweilers!

I mean, they were big, like ENORMOUS!

Scary Or Wot!

OTL hurried us on towards the car and away from them, they looked too hungry for my liking!

Back home for a good rub down to get rid of the mud and a cuddle with OTL while mugging some of his Shortbread!

The best bit is that tomorrow is a Bank Holiday, so claws crossed, the weather may be better and we could get down to the Marshes!

Bye bye for now, see you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

A Wet Saturday, Just For A Change!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again!

What a day today! It started off being wet, then it got colder, then it got wetter and colder!

A typical English Summer!

We went for a walk along The Sea Wall this morning and where the workmen moved the beach shingle, they left a dip between the shingle and the Sea Wall. Well the tide was so high and the wind so strong that it blew the water right over the top and made a big puddle!

Having a Paddle!
Holly and I just had to have a paddle in that, just for fun!

Next Stop Hamburg?

We watched a container ship heading out to sea after unloading and loading up again at the Thames Port Port. Sometimes they get big container ships in there!

Old Two Legs got all interested in taking pictures of the sea crashing against the shore and splashing up in the air!

Splash!
Another Splash
And Another One!
Holly and me did some chasing of rabbits but by the time we got down to the bushes, they had gone down their Rabbit Holes!

OTL says that one day we will catch one and then be so surprised we won't know what to do with it.

Holly says that there are only two things you can do with a rabbit,  Roast or Boiled!

Nearly!
Still it's fun trying to catch them!

We spent most of the afternoon in the caravan, well, we were supposed to be away in it this weekend but the site was too wet so we couldn't go.

What we did do was to help OTL with some 'Tarting Up' of the inside and general maintenance. He spent some time fiddling with the satellite television system, mumbling and grumbling when it didn't do what he wanted it to do!

In the end he sorted it out and declared that it was now 'Working as it should'!

This evening was spent watching the Harry Potter movies and falling asleep cuddled up to OTL.

In fact a very relaxing evening!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Do Parakeets Taste Like Chicken?

Yo Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again!

It was good to see Mr Goodes is feeling better, but we still don't know if he looks like a Panda!

Hey! Guess what? Yep! No rain today!

No Sun either but at least we kept dry, not counting the puddles we walked in!

Holly found a Whelk Shell and asked Old Two Legs if he could make it fit her 'cos she fancied being a Hermit Crab for a day!

Holly The Hermit!
I said that she would look daft and anyway she was too big to fit in properly and on top of that, she didn't have the legs for it!

Holly called me a Spoil Sport and No Fun and a Rat Bag as well.

That was when the fight started!

OTL got all upset and shouted at us both to 'Act our age!' then he threatened to take us home if we were naughty again!

So, we behaved ourselves, for two minutes!

We went on a bit further and came to where a Fisherman was setting up his fishing tackle, Holly went up and woofed a 'Hello' and 'Caught anything Mister?'

All he did was to shout 'Clear Off!'

Old Misery Guts!
OTL told him that she was just saying 'Hello' but the Fisherman turned away and ignored us. OTL said we should not expect everyone to think we are friendly if we bark our 'Hello' 'cos people don't always understand Doggy!

OTL also said that he was a Misery Guts as well!

So Holly had a wee on the steps where he was, that will teach him!

We saw the Kestrel again looking for mice and voles and this time we could hear him calling!

Here! Volly, Volly!
OTL says that one day he will come down with his big lens and spend all day on the Sea Wall photographing the birds!

Boring or Wot!

After lunch we went out with OTL and visited The Forest again!

Off we went sniffin the sniffs and hunting squirrels, OTL was doing his normal thing, walking along looking at the trees for the Jay so he can take a picture of it.

Then suddenly he spotted a couple of birds high in the tree but they were not Jay's.

Well it's not a Jay!
OTL said that they were Rose Ringed Parakeets and that this was the first time he had seen them in the woods.

OTL said they were looking for a house so they can build a nest and raise a family, then sure enough, one of the birds was inspecting a hole in the tree trunk to see if it was big enough for them and the eggs!

This is not big enough! I said I want Five Bedrooms!
Holly was sitting beside OTL and we knew just what she was thinking.

She was licking her lips and saying Mmmmmm?

We watched them for a little while until they flew away.

We also saw some Nuthatch and a big Mistle Thrush who was sitting on top of a tree singing!

I spotted several squirrels but the were not interested in playing 'Chase' with us 'cos we play too rough!

Squirrel Spotting!
It made a change to get back into the car with muddy paws instead of being wet all over. Mind you, OTL still didn't like us climbing onto his lap for a cuddle, I mean, what is a little muddy paw now and again!

Back home to a chew and a snooze before dinner.

I think OTL plans to go out over the weekend, if it doesn't rain, to visit Canterbury Marshes.

Now that would be fun!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly (Plus Muddy Paws!)
