Holly finds The Cow Poo Pat!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here again!

Today we have had a Super Time!

First thing this morning it was off to The Sea Wall as normal and we found that they have been running around with the grass cutter again and chopped down most of the weeds and stuff where us dogs use as a 'Notice Board'!

Now everything is all mixed up and we can't tell who is around and who's just passing!

You know, it will take at least a week before we get it all sorted again!

Mobile Crane?
Holly spotted this Mobile Crane going past and wanted to know why the crane never fell over when it lifted anything?

Old Two Legs then pointed out the obvious, you never lift anything that would be heavy enough to tip you over!

Makes sense really!

Another thing we spotted was a bunch of flowers tied onto a bench.
In fact it was the bench where OTL took that picture of the rain drops!

Remembering Mum?
It could be someone remembering Gladys which is a kind thought and I'll remember that next time we all sit there and watch the ships go by!

This afternoon we went to deliver some stuff and when we had finished, we were very close to The Farm, which we hadn't been to visit for absolutely ages! So, we stopped there and rushed off to see what sniffs were around!
Well.

We started off by walking along the path at the top of the hill.

There were a few good sniffs that Holly and I shared.

Then, out of the corner of my eye, down the bottom of the hill, mooching along, was a,

Pheasant!

Off I went, full speed, down hill, tail out straight to aid wind flow!

Can you see me?
 I was steaming!

Well, in the end the bird flew off into the trees and kept up a laughing sort of noise just to let me know I wasn't fast enough and as I couldn't fly, there was no way I was going to catch that Pheasant!

Holly in the mean time had chased after me down the hill but slightly to the left. Suddenly she stopped and spun around and then fell over, straight into a pile of cow poo that had been spread over the field as fertiliser!

Wot Luck!

It was well fermented, crusty around the edge but still soft in the middle!

OTL was busy picking up two piles of poo that we had left him before chasing off, so, he didn't see what Holly was doing until it was too late and by the time he had started calling us back, I also had found a super pile as well!

Just having a roll!
Well, by the time we had finished we were both honking like every dog should honk, if we had the chance! As we walked along all the air seemed to 'Steam' around us and all the bugs in the grass flew up in the air, just to get a sniff of us!

Were we 'The Business' or Wot?

Back home it was a different matter, A large bowl of warm water and 'Doggy Shampoo' soon reduced us to smelling all flowery and the poo got washed off!

It's just not fair!

Well, at least OTL will give us a cuddle tonight and we can sit next to him on his chair while we watch a DVD and nibble on some shortbread!

So, that was our day, we hope you enjoyed yours just as much!

Bye bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

He's Back!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here!

Loads of fun today, Old Two Legs overslept, so that means he didn't get up until eight fifteen!

Not that it worried us at all 'cos we, being professional snoozers, were enjoying an 'After Wake Up Snooze' while he had a shower!

Snoozing as done by Professionals!
The walk along The Sea Wall was very pleasant, the sun was shining, the wind was low and the sniffs were interesting!

We spotted a Black Headed Gull in the shallows looking at himself in the water reflection and says that he looked Good!

I do look Good!
That was until Holly shouted out, 'Never mind the looks, do you taste like Chicken?'

That shut him up!

I spotted a snail doing funny things with his eye stalks, he was waving them all over the place, most unsnail like!

So, I asked him what he was doing and without even pausing he answered, 'Tai Chi!'

Tai Chi Snail!
Now, that's the first time I've seen that!

I was about to engage him in conversation regarding his actions when I heard,

Yooooo Hooooo Girlieeeees!

Barney's Back!
Hello Girlie's he said, it's been a long time since I last saw you two! We had a quick chat 'cos his owner wanted to get on with the walk but Barney has been away for over three weeks holiday and has had a great time. He promised to give us a better story the next time he sees us, so we are looking forward to that and of course, we have got to tell him all about our holiday and the rabbits we chased!

Back home for breakfast, (Doggy Scoff, Yuk!) and a snooze before the lunchtime walk!

Lunch time was interesting on the beach, you see we reckon it was a Spring Tide today and the water has come right up the beach!

Spring Tide!
If you compare the picture with OTL's past pictures of the beach you will see how far up the beach the water has come!

You know, it came so far up that the Sand Rabbit's hole has disappeared!

Sand Rabbits Swimming Pool!
Even Holly decided that it was not worth having a paddle!

Back home and we had a good snooze before dinner, OTL's dinner that is, curry and rice tonight, so we are both looking forward to some Nan Bread dipped into the sauce!

Then a cuddle and shortbread with maybe a nibble of anything else he has found in the cupboard!

See you tomorrow!

Highly Qualified Snoozers!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here again!

Today has been quite relaxing, in fact so relaxing that it has flown by! One moment we were getting up and the next it's dinner time!

We were out this morning down on The Sea Wall but the tide was out and there was nothing but boring mud!

Not even a Wormy Man to woof at!

Boring Mud!
We said 'Hello' to three Spaniels but they didn't hang around 'cos they said they had breakfast waiting for them!

Can't Stop Girls, Breakfast is Being Served!
We had a sniff around but couldn't find any 'Real Exciting' sniffs, not even a rabbit!

Sniffs are not up to much this morning!
That was it, back home to breakfast of Lambs Heart then wander off to Old Two Legs office for a relaxing snooze in the 'Day Beds'.

The best way to spend a Tuesday Morning!
Come lunch time we started to jump up and woof at OTL, (It's our 'Walkies' sign!) So, good OTL, we went off in the car, but, instead of turning towards The Sea Wall, we headed off to the South!

Before long we ended up in The Forest! We've not been here for some time, so Holly and I were very excited puppies at the thought of a squirrel chase!

Squirrels This Way!
Now, OTL is a bit crafty and he normally has a reason for taking us to these great places and this was no exception!

Off we ran, snuffling amongst the leaves and in and out of the trees. When we looked behind us, no OTL!

Back we go to see if he has got lost or fallen into the ditches or been mugged by a squirrel and there he was, on his knees, backside up in the air, photographing a fungi!

Lepista nuda?
Oh no! Says Holly, it's that time of the year again!

Well, we woofed and then ran back to him and gave him a shove, well it's supposed to be our outing in the woods, not his!

A bit further on he suddenly dives off again and there he is, back on his knees, looking through the viewfinder at another fungi!

Hypholoma fasciculare
Now, you can see he has been reading his new super duper Fungi Book, not that it guarantees his naming the fungi correctly!

Mycena inclinata
However, the fungi looks very much like the pictures and the descriptions shown in the book, but, if we had to rely on OTL identifying a fungi that was safe to eat, I think we would rather starve!

Come on, just how many mushrooms do you want to photograph?
It was getting a bit boring, I mean, we're supposed to be squirrel chasing!

It was around about this time that we heard a terrible racket going on in front of us, Oh No, says Holly, they've scared off all the squirrels, look at them!

Down the path came a large number of children and some teachers, all of them making a terrible racket!

Wot Squirrels?
One of the teachers said they were on a 'Nature Walk', what nature they expected to see, I don't know, all the animals had run away!

We found traces of squirrel, like a chestnut that had been opened and the nuts eaten or buried ready for the Winter!

A Squirrel's been here!
OTL found another strange looking fungi and could not put a name to it, so we will have to make a return trip and see what it grows into!

Strange one this!
So that was it, OTL doing the fungi thing, with no tripod, so you know what we will be bringing next time!

Get a move on, we can sniff squirrel!
No matter how much we tried, he would not get a move on, so that was it, slow, stop, slow, slow, stop!

Tonight OTL has Bambi Burgers (Venison) so we are into serious mugging mode.

Then it's off for another snooze!

As far as snoozing goes, we are Experts!

See you tomorrow but watch out for the rain!

Bye bye,

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

OTL has to work today!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again!

Not the most exciting day today, you see, Old Two Legs had an appointment to do some work!

Poor Old Thing!

The good news was that he didn't have to be there until eleven, so that means we can go down to The Sea Wall as normal.

We didn't see anyone at all this morning, not sure what has happened to all the lads, maybe we are too early or they got there even earlier than us!

We had a good mooch along the path and at one spot we could sniff another lady dog had left her calling card on a weed growing out of the path.

Now, that's not such a big deal. Leaving a sniff of wee on a plant means that the wind wafts it about as it waves the plant about.

Clever or wot?

There was just one thing that worried us about this sniff.

How did she get it up there?
Holly came up with a couple of suggestions, both were impractical and one was rude!

Back home it was chicken for breakfast, after our brush. While we were having our breakfast OTL packed up all his tools and went off to work.

Come lunch time The Missus got out lead out, so that meant we were going over the fields for a change.

While we were over there, the farmer was spraying the fields with some stuff that didn't smell too exciting, so we stayed well away 'cos you never know what they put on their fields. I remember one time we came across a field that had been sprayed with cow poo, well fermented cow poo,
IT WAS WUNDERFUL!!!

Holly and I rolled in it for ages and we kept running away from OTL who was trying to put us back on the lead!

OK, so we had to have a 'Serious Bath' when we got home but we agreed, 'It Was Worth It!

But not today, we just stood and watched until Holly got fed up and found some horses to woof at!

Well, she woofed and she woofed and she woofed and finally one horse lifted its head and blew a big horse raspberry at her, that shut Holly up!

Back home and an 'Afternoon Snoozette' was most enjoyable, especially as it started to rain, poor OTL, having to work in the rain!

Later on he came back all dry and not smelling too bad, that's 'cos he put on his 'Boiler Suit', you know he looks super smart in that boiler suit a sort of cross between Coco The Clown and King Kong in drag!

We said hello in our normal fashion and soon spotted he had hurt himself, seems he had scratched his hand on a bit of sharp metal and it had been bleeding, so, a quick lick and off he went to wash it and put a plaster on his injured hand!

I suppose now he will expect cuddles tonight, just to make it better, well that's OK, providing he has got the shortbread out!

See you tomorrow!

Daisy & Holly

Sunshine, Gardening and The New Park & a Doggy Rescue!

YooHoo Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here!

The Missus was up at the crack of dawn, or even earlier, to watch the F1 from Korea. We went down with her, had our mooch around the garden and then straight back up stairs to Old Two Legs who was still snoring!

It was a super snooze and OTL even stayed in bed an extra half an hour!

So, we were a little late on parade down on The Sea Wall, so we didn't see anyone else.

It was me that first spotted it, someone has filled in the Sand Rabbit hole! Holly says that the Sand Rabbit has gone down the hole and shut the door!

Who's filled in the Hole?
While we were investigating the hole and giving it our full attention, OTL wandered off and took this picture.

Now, we're not going to tell you what it is yet, you gotta guess and no cheating by skipping to the bottom of the page!

Wosssit?
Back home we got our morning brush and some of our Puppy Choc Drops before tucking into a super big bowl of Lambs Heart, one of our favourite meals!

Poor OTL, after he did his chores, he was out in the front garden doing some autumn pruning type of gardening, which means he was cutting back all the bushes and trees.

After he filled up both of the Wheelie Bins with all the branches and stuff he announced that he couldn't do any more gardening 'cos he had nowhere to put the rubbish, clever OTL!

That means he can watch the F1 racing on the TV!

Well, that's what he thought, 'cos at one thirty, just when the race was half way through, the repeat, that is, I got the feeling we should be out for our lunch time walk.

So I woofed, then I jumped up at him, then I whined and then I woofed again. He got the message!

Out we went and the first place to stop was the garage for some more petrol for the car and do you know what is near to the garage? Yes! It's The New Park, with the Swimming Hole!

In no time at all we were in the park and heading for The Swimming Hole!

On the way down there OTL was throwing the ball for me to chase. One throw took it down hill for quite a distance, so I had to stand guard over it until he arrives. (I don't do this retriever thing)!

So, there I am standing there when this sort of sheep dog comes bounding over and says it's his ball. Well, I'm not having any of that, so I stood over the ball and said, in my best 'Don't mess with me' voice, 'This is My Ball!'

No! It's My Ball!
'Oh, sorry, my mistake'! says the sheep dog sort of doggy and off he goes! I was quite proud of myself!

When we got to The Swimming Hole there was one other dog splashing about and OTL was throwing the ball for me.

Then he did it again, too far out for me to get it!

I was getting upset 'cos that's one of my favourite balls!

Too Far, Again!
Then I heard the other dog say 'Don't worry young lady, I'll get it for you!' And with that, there was a big splash and in he went!

I'll get it!
It didn't take him long to get it and bring it back for me.

Holly says he is a Hero!

After a while we left the Swimming Hole for a run and walked around the back of the Swimming Hole, sniffin the sniffs and chasing my ball.

We saw a Dab Chick (Little Grebe) dabbling around in the water, so we gave it a couple of woofs, just to say 'Hello'

Dab Chick Dabbling in The Water!
It was then that we heard a man calling to his dog and OTL looked over the Swimming Hole to see a Spaniel type trying to get his ball that had blown through the fence that keeps the dogs away from the ducks.

I want Me Ball!
The water was deep and he was pushing away at the fence while the man was calling him to leave the ball alone.

Then somehow he got under the fence and got his ball, trouble was, he now couldn't get back!

I'm can't get back!
The man had to climb over a couple of fences until he was able to lift the bottom of the fence to allow the dog to start swimming back to the shore!

I'm Free!
Back he came and got back to shore, he said he was a bit tired and needed a breather, but he still had his ball!

Still got me ball!
After a quick shake and a roll in the grass he was off after his owner for the rest of his run!

That was one lucky doggy, but his owner did say that he had visions of him going in after his dog, had he not got free!

There's a big dog over there!
Off we went back to the car and I was dry by the time we got there. On the way back there was this enormous dog woofing at another dog, so we decided to keep out of the way, too much excitement for today!

Now.............did you guess what the picture was?

Did you look at the bottom of the page and cheat?

Are you sure?

Mmmmm!

Your not telling Porkies are you?

OK, I'll believe you this time!

If you're really sure!

Did you guess what it was?

Bet you didn't!

Here is another shot.

Yep, it is a load of rain drops on a bench!

'Rain Drops keep falling on my Bench'!

OTL is looking through the television programs trying to find out when the F1 Highlights are shown so he can catch up on who won!

Do we care?

See you tomorrow!

Daisy & Holly

Bye Bye Dungeness, Hello Pan Pastels!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here again!

This morning The Missus went off good and early with Auntie Sheila, to get the Village Hall all set up for her 'Master Class' in making a mess on a bit of card and calling it Art!

She runs classes in card making with Pan Pastels and something called SplodgeAway Mat and Distress Inks.

No, I've no idea what she does but she always ends up with inky fingers and a moustache under her nose where she keeps rubbing he hand as she goes into 'Think Mode'!

We keep out of her way when she does that!

Old Two Legs and us went off to The Sea Wall first thing and when we got down there he had to make a Decision!

You see, we had planned to go to Dungeness but one look at the clouds and the light told him that it would be a waste of time. You see, there was no sunlight to shine on the old boats and stuff, it was a 'Diffused Light' which is not very good, according to OTL!

Diffused Light!
That was it, no Dungeness, back home to digging the garden and serious Landscape Engineering!

Well, it was really a series of grunting and pulling of woody plants out of the ground and tearing down the Ivy that was creeping up the neighbours walls and digging up the grass.

Poor OTL, he even brought his camera into he garden, just in case a Sea Eagle landed in the pond!

Well, it was hard work and we suggested that at lunch time he should take us down The Sea Wall again, just to see if the light had changed!

So, complaining of a 'Bad Back' and the rotten gardening gloves that allowed thorns to poke through to spike his hands, we escaped to the Sea Wall again!

When we got there it looked really strange, it seemed like the whole world had been divided into two halves!

Two Weathers!
It was sun shiny on one half and dark diffused light on the other. Seriously strange weather and the photo is 'Untouched', honest!

While we were walking along Holly spotted a couple of sailing barges going past, Holly says that one was called 'The Elle May' and the other was The Nellie's Revenge'!

Off to do some 'Pirating'!
Holly reckons they were off to do some 'Pirating' off the Essex coast!

OTL pointed out how the light was all over the place by showing us the rock off the beach and the path colours. Holly said that  she understood what OTL was saying, I said that I was bored listening to the load of rubbish!

See, Diffused Light!
That was when the fight started, 'cos Holly said I was a Dimbo and couldn't understand the basics!

OTL had to put us both on the lead 'cos then he would have control over us! Just as he did that, Jock came bounding up all ready for a game, he ran around us and woofed and had a sniff of us both then did a little runaway then came back so we can chase him.

OTL wouldn't let us off the lead!

Come on Girls!
I blamed Holly and she blamed me but before the fight could start again, Jock was off and we were in the car!

Back home to some more digging, (for OTL) and snoozing for us!

TM came back and we gave her a good 'Welcome Home' lick and yes, her fingers were all inky but the moustache was not there!

Shame, we do like a good laugh when she does that!

Not sure what we have planned for tomorrow, F1 from Korea for certain but it looks like rain, so no gardening for OTL, if he's lucky!

See you tomorrow and we will find out!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Chilly Friday, so TM has her hair done!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with you again!

It was a real damp start today, quite depressing really, if you get depressed by weather!

We don't 'cos we can have a game of 'Hide from Old Two Legs' and 'Chase your sister across the beach'!

Dismal?
Although OTL had put on our coats, it was only a few drops of rain in the air, but it did keep us warm against the wind!

We didn't see anyone on the beach at all, even the seagulls were staying off shore!

When we got back to the car, OTL took our coats off and Holly jumped up onto the back shelf and sat on the towel. So, OTL jumped out, went around the back, opened the back door and gave Holly a good dry with the towel. Which was what Holly wanted 'cos she had wet legs and tummy after running through the wet grass. In fact, she was so please with OTL for drying her that as he was drying her front paws, she gave him a lick on the nose!

Of course, after he had dried her, I was up on the shelf, holding one paw up as a sign that I wanted to be dried as well!

Back home to Lambs Heart for breakfast, Mmmmmmmm, Super Stuff!

After the food man had called to deliver this weeks shopping, The Missus got her coat on, great! we're going out for a walk/drive/visit someone we thought. No way! She was off to the parlor to get her hair shampooed and set, just like we do but I bet they don't throw her in a big sink and soak her all over!

We know that 'cos when she comes back her clothes are still dry!

When she comes in, we have to stand on the back of the sofa and go Ooooo! and Ahaaaaa! and Doesn't she look good! Then after we have done that OTL has to  go Ooooo! and Ahaaaaa! and Don't you look good!

It's a Two Leg Thing!

Luckily, she was back in time for us to go out for our lunch time walk, back down The Sea Wall but this time the sun had come out and the sky was blue!

There, on the path, trying to look all important and knowing, was doing an 'interview' with himself, a sort of 'Reporting live from Boris Island'!

Yet Another Report!
Well, we had a laugh and rushed of to investigate the hole in the sand, just in case a Sand Rabbit had taken up residence without us knowing!

I can't sniff anything yet!
Then off we went to sniff the sniffs and see who was about. We didn't meet anyone on the path and there was only one Wormy Man out on the mud.

We did see one of the container ships leaving Sheerness and heading for who knows where!

Homeward Bound?
Back home TM was cooking up a ton of curry for OTL and had a load of off cuts of beef that she had cooked just for us and guess what, yep, Holly and I finished off the beef with no problem!

So, that was us for the afternoon, stretched out in our day beds and sleep it off until dinner is served tonight!

OTL has a decision to make, shall he go out with us down to Dungeness to do some more photography, or, do some more gardening!

Decisions, Decisions!

We'll let you know what happens tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

A Bit Damp Today!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here again!

This morning we were up good and early, around five fifteen it was, just to have a wander around and have an early morning wee.

That means we don't have to wake Old Two Legs up until later, so we all snuggled down together and had a 'Before Get Up Snooze'!

I like those snoozes 'cos it make you all relaxed and warm and happy!

I don't think it works that way with OTL, he took a look at the clock and went all grumbly and staggered off to get a shower!

Soon we were down The Sea Wall and looking out to sea for monsters! We didn't see any but we did spot a shower across the water. Holly says that is what they mean by 'Occasional Showers'!

Occasional Showers!
We found our hole in the sand again and Holly had a dig and I joined her, just for fun!

Holly says that she thinks there are 'Sand Rabbits' on beaches and they specialize in building rabbit holes in sandy spots. Well, I've never heard of that before and I think she is talking out of her tail again, but I don't say so, just in case there are such things as Sand Rabbits!

Bet there are sand rabbits here!
As we got further along the path, we spotted one of the Wormy Men digging away and making a big mess in the mud. Today he was wearing a yellow jacket. I said that a yellow jacket was not right 'cos the worms could see him coming and run away before he finds them!

Holly, says that is not possible 'cos worms are color blind and they can't see the yellow jacket, so that means the Wormy Man was really invisible to the worms every time he wore the jacket and in that way he could catch more worms 'cos they couldn't see him coming!

The Invisible Wormy Man.
So now we know!

Lunch time came around and we had to wear our coats 'cos it was starting to rain and you know how much we hate the rain!

Holly was mumbling horrid things about the rain and how she wished it would go and rain out to sea where it didn't matter!

I Don't Do Rain!
I must admit, I agreed with her and added that I didn't like the wind blowing my whiskers about either!

OR Wind!
I went to inspect the Sand Rabbits hole and found that if I stuck my head into the hole, the rain stopped!
Here, no Rain!
We couldn't stay on the beach all day with our heads stuck down a hole, so we hurried around our circuit and was soon on our way back to the car.

Then OTL stopped.

Not a Good Sign.

Then he put his camera to his eye and started to walk over the un cut grass.

Also, not a Good Sign 'cos some times he falls over!

Then he got close to a tree.

Sitting half way up the tree was a Kestrel surveying the area.

OTL said he was looking for his lunch!

Holly said he could come home with us and join us for lunch, providing he tastes like,

CHICKEN!

Just looking for lunch!
He must have heard Holly 'cos the next moment he flew off, back down the path towards the sea!

The afternoon has been spent sort of snoozing and mugging OTL for some nibbles.

Not sure what is for dinner tonight but I think we have got Lambs Heart and Liver!

Can't wait!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly
