We've Seen The Snow Fairy!

Hi Woofers!

It's us back again, Daisy & Holly!

Guess who woke Old Two Legs up last night, Three Times!!!


Well, I was getting bored with the Night Time Guarding Duty and decided to ask OTL where we were going on holiday next year.

So, I jumped up onto the bed and snuggled down on his pillow and proceeded to lick the top of his bald head and ask where I was going on holiday.

OTL mumbled something about the local kennels and told me to .....ugger Off!

I just love his sense of humour!

OTL put our coats on this morning before going out for a walk, not because it was raining but because it was cold and windy, very windy!

 Holly did her 'Speed Sniffin' trick again but this time she had a go at running for even faster Sniffin!

 This morning it was a clear blue sky but the sea was very Cold and Grey and not inviting!

No swimming today!

As we got to the part of our walk where we turn around to go back, Holly says, 'Listen!'

Then from out of the air we could hear 'Yoooo Hoooo Girliessss'!

Yes, it was Barney!

He had got a new ball and wanted to show it off 'cos it was two colours!

He couldn't stay long 'cos he was going the other way and had his mate with him, so we said good bye and carried on our walk.

 Getting close to the car we saw the Local Birdwatchers hiding behind the bushes, hiding from the wind, wimps!

I see no birds!

 Back home we had our brush and a sniff at the Doggy Scoff The Missus offered us, Yuk!

So, off to bed but before we do, a quick run around the garden to check out any new sniffs. We were head down investigating a hedgehog trail when all of a sudden, it landed on my nose.

A Snow Flake!

OK, I know it was a small one and there wasn't very many of them but it was definitely a snow flake.

The Snow Fairy Has Come Back!

I reckon that we are in for some real fun if it carries on, claws crossed!

Lunch time came and out we went again, after mugging a bit of OTL's lunch! It was still blowing a gale but the sun had come out and the Snow Fairy had cleared off up North.

The tide was trying to go out but the wind kept blowing it back, which seriously upset the sea birds 'cos they were trying to get a meal before it got too dark to see!

In, Out, In, Out!

We saw a Daddy and Son looking out to sea and we said hello as we passed, the little boy said that Holly was a friendly dog.

We didn't tell him that she was only checking him out for sandwiches!

See that, it's wet!

We met up with a Westie on a lead, I went up to him and woofed a 'Hello' but he must have got the wrong message 'cos he went potty with the woofing and jumping up, then he started on Holly but she told him to 'Get A Tail'!

 Now these coats that OTL got for us are really super smart but to hold the back from flapping around there are some elastic straps that go under our legs and while they are new, OTL says that they may be a bit tight!

A bit Tight? There are times when I think it must be easier to hop along on three legs! Holly has been working on stretching the elastic by bending her knees. I'm not sure if that will work but she does look funny when she does it!

Still no sign of the Snow Fairy, so we have spent the afternoon watching the birds in the garden.

OTL is off early tomorrow as his work today got put back 'cos the stuff he needs didn't get delivered until lunch time, too late to do anything today!

So, TM will be taking us out tomorrow, that should be fun!

Looking at the weather forecast for the south of the U.S.A. we reckon Mike and Sue should keep their heads down and stay away from the seaside!

When the North Wind doth Blow..........!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here again on a cold, windy and wet Friday!

This Autumn thing can get a bit draughty you know!

After a very hard night guarding the house from burglars and sneaky Pussy Cats, we had our normal morning snooze, after handing over the guarding responsibility to Old Two Legs and The Missus.

Well, last night it seemed to be one long Guard Patrol, marching all over the house checking under the dining room table and behind the sofa. Then there was the stairs, every step has to be investigated for strange sniffs. After that it is a march around the other rooms, first the kitchen, stopping for a nibble on the leftovers, have a drink, then sniff around for any Two Leg food dropped on the floor!

After that we check the front door and make sure it is double locked!

We carefully check the office, under the desk and the filing cabinet then march into TM's card making store. Now that's a terrible place to guard, there are so many boxes of stuff where nasty's could hide!

Once all that has been done, we march back into the bedroom and report to OTL that all has been done and give him a big lick on the ear!

While doing that our tails give TM a good whack on the head, just to let her know we are reporting to OTL!

OTL took us down to The Sea Wall as normal but this time the wind was blowing in off the North Sea and boy, wasn't it cold and wet!

As OTL says, When The North Wind Doth Blow, then we'll get Cold Wet Tails!

Just listen to that wind!

 Well, we turned the corner and looked at the sea, it was white water everywhere!

The wind was blowing pretty hard as well, Holly pointed her nose into the wind and called out, 'Look, Speed Sniffin, Standing Still!

 I decided it was going to be one of those 'Quick Walks', just about the time when a load of spray got blown up the beach and into my face!

 We spotted the Buoy from yesterday but it hadn't gone very far, to cold for swimming says Holly!

 Holly and I had a chat and decided that we were going to take the Short-Cut back to the car, a long walk is OK on a summer's day but in this weather, well it could amount to cruelty and we didn't want to get reported for being cruel to OTL!

Listen, I have a Cunning Plan!

We got to the Short-cut Path and Holly and I dashed up there calling for OTL to follow us 'cos we have just seen a rabbit.

We hadn't but he wasn't to know!

Look, rabbits!

By the time OTL had caught up with us, even he had decided it was a good idea to head home!

OTL, Home!

 As we got close to the car a big blast of wind blew the fur on my face all over the place. 'Hey!' says Holly, 'you need a hair cut!'

I think she's right!

 Back home it was warm and snug in our Day Beds and we enjoyed a super breakfast of Chicken and Biscuits before retiring to dream of sunny spring days!

Lunch time we inspected the garden and found that it had stopped raining, so we rushed upstairs, collected OTL and pushed him into the car.

It was still blowing a storm and the tide had gone out but it was still cold!

Here comes the wind!

 We tried the trick of sneaking up the Short-Cut but OTL caught us and made us go the whole walk!

Heading Back!

It was good to be heading back home, back to a nice warm Day Bed!

Come on, keep going!

 Holly was almost chasing OTL like a sheep dog, every time he stopped to look at a little fungi, she got behind him and woofed!


I was going to join in with the woofing but Holly seemed to be doing quite well without me!

I'll woof later, if needed!

Not sure what is for dinner tonight but I'm sure OTL will share it with us!

OTL was going to go out early tomorrow to do some work but it has been put off until Sunday, so that means we can have a cuddle tomorrow but on Sunday he not only won't get a cuddle, but he will miss the F1 race!

Let's hope the rain stays away on Sunday 'cos that won't help OTL enjoy the work!

Windy Out Today!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here!

Have you noticed the change? We have, the wind has picked up and blowing in off the North Sea. The waves were bigger than normal and there was a definite draft 'Under the Tail' if you know what I mean!

Old Two Legs even put on his warm winter hat, the one that has ear flaps and a flap to cover his forehead if the wind gets too bad!

We spotted a floating buoy thingy getting bashed about in the waves, it had come off something but it was too big to be used as a ball, so we left it along to have a swim!

I did suggest a race along the wall again and maybe Holly could got for a swim!

Holly said 'No', well, she also said a lot of other things but the answer was 'No'!

So, with that decided, we had a race along the grass path back to the car, well, breakfast was calling us!

 OTL had to go out for a while but when he returned, it was just in time for our lunchtime walk!

There's nothing like a lunchtime walk after snoozing all morning in the Day Bed!

We spotted two ships having a race and Holly says it was the Nelly May sailing barge who was in the lead!

Then we saw the Wormy Man out on the mud flats, he was standing there at the head of a ditch he had dig in the mud, Holly said that showed he had been chasing a worm through the mud and maybe, the worm had won!

As we were having a laugh about that, a two legs cycled past on his bike, nearly running Holly over, well, she wasn't going to stand for that, so she chased him down the path woofing at him to GerroffanWalk, but I don't think he understood!

 We met up with a new doggy on The Sea Wall, he said he was called Radley!

Hello, I'm Radley!

His owner said that his wife had named him and he was called after the Handbag!

Well, OTL had a laugh about that but it seemed to upset Radley and he asked OTL if he was going to be made into a Handbag when he got older!

I'm not a Handbag am I?

 OTL said that if anyone was going to make a Handbag out of him he should tell us and we will stop them!

Radley said that made him feel a lot better and thanks for the reassurance!

 We said Bye and went off on a hunt for fungi for OTL.

 Look what we found for him!

Golden Waxcap?

 It was a young fungi but we think it maybe a Golden Waxcap 'cos they are very common and found in the sort of place this one was growing!

So, that made OTL happy and we got home to settle down to a bit of serious snoozing before dinner time!

OTL has got Bambi Burgers tonight, so, we are getting ready for some serious mugging!

Holly Gets all Hooked up!

Daisy & Holly here!

This misty weather is a real pain in the tail! We haven't seen the sun for ages!

Old Two Legs says it's about to turn and we should get winds from the North, clearing away the mist, but, it's going to get colder!

It didn't seem like it this morning, you know there wasn't even a decent dew on the plants and spiders web!

As Holly says.....

This mist is Boring!

 We decided that we would play F1 Racing and Holly got off to a bad start so I won by a mile!

I Won Again!

OTL found a very bright reddy or orangey looking fungi and we think it is the Parrot Waxcap! This is a very common fungi but it's just that we haven't seen it before!

Back home and after a brush and some breakfast OTL went out into the garden for some more work!

He is trying to clear the back section of the garden and turn it into a grass free area with some wild flower meadow strips in the sunny bit up in the corner. Trouble is, the ground is a bit wet and the mud was sticking to his boots and we reckon he grew another two inches!

It was only when his back ached that he decided to pack it in for the day!

Our lunch time walk was interesting!

First of all we lost the ball that OTL was throwing for us, it bounced into the long grass and we couldn't find it! That upset Holly 'cos it was a super small ball, (OTL called it a Golf Ball) and it bounced all over the place!

Maybe we will find it another day.

After giving up the search, Holly got tangled up in some string stuff, OTL bellowed at Holly to 'Stay', and because his voice was so loud, Holly stopped straight away, which was lucky she did!

OTL then unwrapped a length of fishing line from around Holly's back legs and untangled two big fishing hooks from her fur! He said it was lucky that they hadn't dug into her legs as she was running along!

Naughty fishermen, leaving that sort of dangerous stuff where dogs and birds could get caught up in it!

We had great fun chasing each other along The Sea Wall and this time I was on the path while Holly ran along the slope!

Yet again I win!

 Holly said it was difficult running on the slope 'cos her legs keep running towards the sea!

I keep going down hill!

Also, running on the slope gets you all out of breath quicker than running on the flat! Well, that's what she says but I call it a rotten excuse for loosing!

When we got back, we had a good snooze on the sofa and woke up just as The Missus was banging the pots and pans in the kitchen, so that means dinner is on it's way!

The Day After!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here, another day older!

With all the things we did yesterday, Holly must have picked up a 'Birthday Bug' 'cos today she has the 'Grumble Tum' and is off her food, which is really serious if your name is Holly!

She has managed a few mouthfuls of breakfast and a little mugging of Old Two Legs at lunch time, so, we think she will survive!

OTL was all happy this morning 'cos he's got a New Toy. It's come all the way from America or to be exact Lake Hiawatha New Jersey!

 It has taken twenty days to arrive with most of the time it has been sitting in the UK Customs shed awaiting clearance!

Now with this new toy, he says, he will be able to photograph of a fleas backside.

It is still misty and damp out there on The Sea Wall, no matter how much we tried, we still got all wet and damp!

OTL was even disappointed he couldn't find any new fungi, except this little Mycena he found on the path!

It's about the size of a two pence piece!

 Holly spent the morning on the sofa watching the birds in the garden and snoozing and at lunch time she said she felt a little better.

It's something I ate!

So, off we went to The Sea Wall again, we said hello to a Black Headed Gull who was searching for some cockles, we know that 'cos he called out .......

OTL was having fun as he found a fungi called 'Shaggy Inkcap' and it's also known as 'Lawyers Wig'!

It was Horrible, all dripping black stuff off the edges!

OTL said that they used to gather the drips and use it as ink in the 'Old Days', Holly said that he means, 'when he was a lad'!

We got fed up with the fungi, so Holly and I had a game of chase on the beach, which was good 'cos it showed that Holly was feeling a lot better!

 OTL mentioned that we had not had our 'Birthday Picture' and that we should have a record of what we looked like on our birthday, so, we had a tidy up and shook the sand off our tails and struck a 'Pose'!
 

Holly & Daisy Three Years Old!

OTL says that we have got a booking at the 'Poodle Parlour', Friday week, so we will be all super smart and 'Looking the Business' and we have got to have our picture taken for the 'Christmas Card'.

Holly says we should roll in some mud before OTL takes our picture, just for fun!

I don't think I'm that brave!

I think we got Doggy Scoff tonight and OTL's got curry so we may get a nibble of the Nan Bread dipped in the curry sauce, if we're lucky!

Happy Birthday to Us!

Hi Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here and today is our Birthday!

Yep! Today we are Three Years Old!

In doggy terms, that is real 'Grown Up'. Our three years is about twenty eight years for you two legs!

We are in our Prime and to prove it, here we are enjoying and after chew snooze!

We went out for our morning walk and it was a bit strange 'cos the sea mist was in and we couldn't see much at all! We could hear the fog horn from Sheerness blowing away but that was it, no lights, no ships and no Wormy Men!

We did find a football on the beach at the high tide mark and Old Two Legs threw it up on the path for us to play with, unfortunately it was a bit too big for us, so we left it on a bench for someone else to play with!

OTL was all keen to take pictures of cobwebs covered in water droplets from the mist, it was only the breeze that stopped him making a good job of focusing!

Getting Better but no Water!

Lunch time we went down to The Forest ''cos we haven't been down there for a while, it was muddy, like, deep quaggy mud that oozed between you claws and stuck to your tummy and it was so dark that OTL had to use the flash on his camera just to see us!

Even when we got out from under the trees it was still dark! Holly said that it was not as much fun as she thought it was going to be and because I had only spotted one squirrel, I had to agree with her. So, back to the car for another rub down with our towel and a cuddle up to OTL as we drove home!

Not as good as we thought!

 Back home we found that The Missus was back from her visit to the optician and on the way back she had gone into the butchers and got us some beef for tonight's dinner!!!!!

Now, how much much better can it get!

So, off we go for our 'Birthday Dinner' and we will see you tomorrow, all three years and one day!
