A Right Mix Up Day!

Hello Woofers!

It's us again, Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles!

There we were, snoozing the night away, getting up every so often so we could cuddle up to Old Two Legs or The Missus, then back to our beds, you know, the normal sort of night!

Well, about five fifteen, an alarm went off! It was OTL's mobile phone, and you know what? OTL got up and headed for the shower! Most strange!

You know, he didn't even have a paddle on the rowing machine, instead he got dressed and was soon getting his coat on!

Next thing we knew, he had said goodbye and disappeared out the front door!

Well, that was it, TM had to take us out for our morning walk and for a change she took us over The Farm, which is a place we haven't been for ages!

We met up with a couple of doggies and sniffed all the sniffs we haven't sniffed in ages and even had a look for the horses, but they weren't anywhere to be seen, I suppose that's a bit like the squirrels or the rabbits!

OTL didn't get back until nearly midday, so we had plenty of time to snooze the morning away on the sofa! Mind you, the ferrets were not happy, TM left them in their cage and said that OTL had to be in charge if they wanted to go out 'cos she wasn't going to carry the ferrets on the main road through the village and have Holly and I on a lead at the same time!

Sorry Ferrets, she just won't take you as well!

She has no sense of adventure, OTL does it all the time!

When OTL finally did come back I told him about the ferrets not getting a good run and how we hadn't been down on the beach either!

That was it, off we all went, me, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles!

First thing Mr Brambles does is to dig a big trench to run up and down!

Who needs a JCB when you've got A Ferret!
Snowflake told him to stop showing off and to behave himself!

Act your age!
We had some fun sniffing the beach and I found a sniff that I'm sure was a rabbit, but what's a rabbit doing on the beach?

Well, it sniffs like a rabbit!
Both ferrets joined in the sniff and traced it back to the beach, they of course decided that it wasn't a rabbit!

We reckon it could be a Weasel!
In the end we couldn't agree so we all gave up and headed back home!

So, today we have been all mixed up, no paddling, no long morning walk, no lunch time mugging!

Still, there is some good news, OTL has got a new DVD, it's The Hobbit, (Extended Version) and we plan to watch it tonight while having a slurp and some shortbread!

That's after we mug some dinner from OTL's dinner!

See you tomorrow!

The Ferrets get Wet & We Get Muddy!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles here!

What a start to the day! It was raining from the moment we got up this morning!

When we got to the Sea Wall it was still raining, though, not so heavily as before. Old Two Legs decided that we should take the ferrets to the picnic ground for a run and then they were to go back in the car 'cos they don't have rain coats like wot we have got!

About half way around, it stopped raining, so OTL picks up the ferrets and heads for our normal path. It was after about ten minutes when the rain started again! So, back the ferrets went to the car to get a rub down with a dry towel and put back into their travelling cage.

We didn't get any choice, we were marched back out and instructed to 'get on with it'!

I just don't do rain!

I really don't like this!
Thankfully it didn't last long, the walk that is, not the rain, that lasted almost all morning!

Still, to make up for it we had some juicy chicken for breakfast followed by a snooze on OTL's bed!

It was a bit late, our walk at lunch time, 'cos OTL was busy 'Manufacturing' but he finished and we were off to the carriers. Now, just along the road a bit was The Forest! One of our favourite Squirrel Hunting Grounds!

When we got there it looked a bit muddy, it fact it was really Quaggy! We didn't mind, as long as there were some squirrels to chase we would be happy!

So, the first thing we came across was..........

Afternoon Doggies
Of course, if there is one, there is bound to be another!

In fact there were a few and these two were Banging Heads!

Wot You Looking At?
Holly and I were a bit put out that these cattle had scared off the squirrels!

OTL was diving into the leaves and stuff clicking away at bits of fungi that were poking their heads up above the leaves!

Err, Boo!
He was down on his knees trying to hold the camera still so he could get it in focus, maybe he will bring the tripod next time!

A Fungi Doesn't wobble you know!
We had to stay away from the path, too muddy, but in the forest it wasn't so bad, but we still didn't see a single squirrel!

It really was a bit much!

No matter how hard we looked, they seemed to have vanished into the tree tops!

No, can't see a single squirrel anywhere!
Holly suggested we try sniffin' in the leaf litter but that didn't work either!

It's could be squirrel or maybe a rat!
It was most frustrating 'cos we know they are here somewhere but we just couldn't find them!

No! Not up there either!
This was getting bad, you know we were even helping OTL find different fungi! Here's one he hasn't seen down in the forest before, Puff Balls, but these weren't ready to Puff Yet!

All together lads, Puff!
Then we found this one hiding away on an old tree trunk, pretty we thought, reminds us of squirrels!

Pretty Colour and has a sniff of squirrel about it!
I jumped up on top of the log for a better sniff but in the end decided that it wasn't just right, you know, nearly but not quite squirrel!

Almost had me fooled then!
To add insult to it all, OTL spotted a squirrel scampering up a tree trunk while Holly were having a chat with a Bozo Scruff Bag who reckons he has chased a hundred squirrels today, yeah, right!

We did however spot a spider who wasn't talking to us 'cos he was waiting for a fly to land so he could have some dinner tonight. All he would say was that he was 'Jus' Hanging Around'!

Jus' Hanging About!
We carried on the path way getting very muddy, in fact we were almost black with the mud! As we came through the last gate, there in front of us, stretched out by the side of the path, chewing slowly was the Highland Coo, again!

It turned its head and said, 'You Two Again?'

Again?
Holly reckons that if they were to get rid of the cattle then the squirrels would come back.

Wonder what a Highland Coo tastes like?

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Mr Brambles didn't bite the vet!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles here!

Wot a damp, cloudy, wet and Yucky Day today! It is a sure sign that Winter is on it's way!

We were all out this morning on our run along the Sea Wall. Mr Brambles was having great fun winding Old Two Legs up. You see, what Mr Brambles does is to have a wriggle in OTL's arm so he puts Mr Brambles down, then Mr B turns around and makes like he is going to run back down the path. At the moment OTL grabs the lead to stop him, Mr B raises his tail like he is going to do a poo, but he doesn't, instead he walks backwards in the direction OTL wants to go. As soon as OTL starts walking in that direction, Mr B runs back down the path, the way we had come!

Mr Brambles thinks it is great fun, OTL doesn't!

It was still early when we got down to the beach, OTL wanted to get the morning walk over with early 'cos Mr Brambles had an appointment with the vet this morning!

The sun had got up and was over the horizon by the time we got to the beach, we would have been earlier but Mr Brambles was busy playing his game with OTL!

Now, today we have decided that our pictures should have a musical theme, so here's the first one!

Morning Has broken, over Sheerness!
Come on, you have got to join in the chorus!

I had some fun digging a hole on the beach, the sand was flying everywhere, that was until Snowflake came running up and said.........

Hey! You! Get Outta My Hole!
Yeh! Come on, sing the next line!

Mr Brambles was digging and exploring all over the beach, on top of that he was also getting his lead caught around OTL's legs!

Then he headed for the rocks and started to climb all over them, until he stubbed his claw then it was..........

A Rocky Mountain Breakdown!
OK, we'll let you off this one 'cos it is an instrumental on the banjo!

All the time Holly had been down the other end of the beach doing her sniffin' and poking about amongst the sea weed. Hey! says Snowflake, who is that down there? Is it a.....................

Stranger on the Shore
Bet you can't remember the words!

By then Snowflake had rushed off to catch up with Mr Brambles, that left me and my hole all to myself and......................

There I was, digging this hole, hole in the ground, so nice and sorta round!
You may remember this one, OTL does!

On the way back to the car the ferrets were having fun diving in and out of the long grass but Holly and I preferred the short grass, that way it didn't get our tummies wet and it felt more like..................

The Green, Green Grass of Home!
Yes, They'll all come to meet me................

OK, that's enough of that!

You will be pleased to know that Mr Brambles got the 'All Clear' from the vet who did the inspection.

Because we had come straight from our walk, Snowflake was in the travelling cage as well.

That vet didn't put his hand inside to drag Mr Brambles out, he waited until OTL had called Mr B out.

Snowflake was most disappointed, especially as she had been sharpening her teeth with a honing stone, just to make them extra sharp for the vet!

While we were there, OTL put us on the weighing machine and we hadn't gained any more weight since being weighed before!

It's all that hard work snoozing on the sofa that keeps us in trim!

Not sure what OTL has tonight but it sniffs like curry, so that means no serious mugging for us, we will have to wait for the shortbread later!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Mr Brambles does a Great Escape!

Hi Ho Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Wot a Horrid Saturday Night! Those Dopey Two Legs were letting off the Whizz Bangs again and they started early in the evening as well! About six thirty there were the 'Phut Pops', then there were the 'Whizzzzzz Pops' and finally they let off the 'Whizz Bangs'!

Holly was not a Happy Puppy and cuddled up to Old Two Legs, she was even having 'The Shakes' as well!

The results of this was we were all in bed by eight fifteen, cuddled up to OTL and he had his arm over both Holly and me. I'm not so worried by the Whizz Bangs, they just make me bark 'cos they catch me by surprise but poor Holly, she has got a real problem with them.

Silly Two Legs should go to an 'Organized Whizz Bang Show' where it is bigger, louder and longer than the things they have in their gardens. That way us Four Legs who get upset can stay at home in the quiet!

'Nuff Said!

This morning was a super, chilly, bright sun shinny morning. OTL was having breakfast with the ferrets and after their milk they started doing a Ferret War Dance around the office and chasing each other all through the cardboard boxes and tubes. In fact OTL was laughing at their antics all the way through his 'Rabbit Food' breakfast!

Mr Brambles asked if he could go out for a run this morning and because it was sunny OTL agreed providing he didn't do anything silly to hurt himself.

Off we went and of course as soon as Mr Brambles paws hit the ground he ran straight into a puddle!

Soppy Ferret!

It was fun on the beach, both Mr Brambles and Snowflake were running around sniffin' and digging holes and sniffin' and trying to get their leads wrapped around OTL's legs, just for fun!

At one stage Mr Brambles got the lead wrapped around him!

I'm getting in a bit of a messy tangle here!
Snowflake was running up and down the beach looking for the Surf Board, but it had gone!

It was here yesterday!

We couldn't find the Surf Board, so we reckon that it must have floated away on the last tide.

Snowflake gave up on the Surf Board and was hunting around for sniffs that she thought would interest Mr Brambles!

Hey! Get a load of this Sniff!
He was running from one sniff to the other getting all excited with every new one he came across!

Wow! There's one over here!
Holly and I were watching them frolicking about and she said that they looked like a couple of puppies who were seeing the beach for the first time!

Look at them, they're like a couple of puppies!
The run back to car was fun as well, Snowflake was doing her 'Fast Jog' but Mr Brambles kept getting out of breath. He said that a few more morning runs and he would be back to normal. OTL offered him the use of the rowing machine if he fancied some exercise at home but Mr Brambles said that he would rather do the jogging!

Even if Mr Brambles was a little out of breath, he did say that he enjoyed 'Escaping' from home, even for a little while!

Back home we rushed in to see what there was for breakfast. The Missus had gone out to some Card and Clock Making class today.

What did we find?

DOGGY SCOFF!!!!!!!
Yuk! Yuk! YUK!

Holly says that TM must have forgotten to get our Lambs Heart out of the freezer and sneaked out before we got back 'cos she couldn't bear to see the disappointment on our faces!

Just wait till she gets home, no cuddles for her!

Lunch time we were out again and it was still sun shine and wind. The wind was coming from the North and when that happens, it gets cold! OTL's eyes were watering where he was walking into the wind. You see, sometimes being short is helpful, the wind didn't blow so hard for Holly and Daisy, it just whistled over the top of us!

It was fun trotting along the Sea Wall and OTL took this picture of us all!

OTL, Holly and Me!
As we got around the point we spotted a fork in the mud, 'Hey Up!' calls Holly, 'There's a Wormy Man Missing!'

Where's The Wormy Man?
Back home we all had a late spot of lunch, well, OTL made lunch for himself and Holly and I pinched bits of it!

OTL has been on his computer and playing with the camera again but I don't think he has had much success 'cos he hasn't shown me a picture worth including in today's blog!

Keep on trying OTL!

See you all tomorrow and keep your fingers crossed for Mr Brambles as he is off to the vets for a check up!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Big Flea's Have Little Flea's Upon Their Backs To Bite 'em!

Hello Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

We played our joke on Old Two Legs again this morning, but he didn't get a chance to start paddling before Holly went crashing through the office door again and jumped up onto his lap and gave him a lick on the nose!

Then I rushed in and jumped onto his lap as well and he nearly fell of the Rowing Machine!

We decided to leave him alone to get his exercise and headed down to see what The Missus was doing!

It wasn't raining when we went down the Sea Wall, however, it was a bit chilly but at least the rain held off!

Snowflake was doing her, 'Can we go home yet?'

Come on, let's go home, I'm cold!
She got all interested when she found what she called a 'Surf Board'!

I thought it was just a big plank but she said that if we had some waves we could ride them!

Look Girls! A Surf Board!
I pointed out that the waves were miles away 'cos the tide was right out but she said we should dig a big hole and bury it so we could play with it when we are next down there.

OK, I thought, I'll help her out by digging a hole but when I saw the size of the board I suggested we hire a JCB!
Here's a Hole for you!
Back home there was Chicken waiting for us and OTL was off down to the town while we enjoyed our breakfast!

Lunch time it was Yuk! Drizzly Rain and big puddles and wet paws!

Next time I'm bringing my Wellies!
Back home OTL went back to playing with the camera and found another dead moth on the window ledge. So, off he went trying different things like turning the lens around on the camera!

This moth was held in place by a splodge of Heat Sink Compound which is an electrical thingy wotsit OTL uses sometimes.

Mortified but fresher!
As he was playing about he noticed a little bug crawling out from under the moths wing. It moved like an inch worm and disappeared under the wing again. So, with the aid of a pair of tweezers, he lifted up the wings and searched for the bug but couldn't find it. What he did spot was an egg! So it looks like the bug laid an egg on the dead moth!

OTL told us of a bit of a poem he knows.

Big fleas have little fleas,
Upon their backs to bite 'em,
And little fleas have lesser fleas,
and so, ad infinitm.

Can you see it?
Next experiment is to have the camera with a lens on it as normal but then mount another lens on the front, in reverse!

Now that should be fun!

OTL reckons we could then see the hairs on a Gnats Backside!

What ever turns you on!

We're off to do some mugging now, so bye bye for now and see you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

It can be Dangerous Here!

Hi Woofers!

Were back again, Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

You know that Old Two Legs gets up early to have his splash and paddle around the office? Well, he likes to get up early 'cos that way he can do all his paddling in private and not have anyone laugh at his technique, you know, thrashing around as if he was drowning!

Holly, being a right pickle of a puppy, has been getting up about ten minutes or so after OTL gets up, waits until OTL is well into his paddling, then she bursts through the office door and jumps up the side of him and gives him a big 'Good Morning' lick on his ear!

Well, that puts OTL off his stroke and he just collapses across the oars laughing, Holly and I are laughing as well and that of course gets the ferrets laughing as well!

Our walk along the Sea Wall was a bit damp and it took Snowflake a bit longer to warm up before she set off for the car!

Mind you, we did see her hiding behind a clump of grass saying that it was less windy there!

Not So Drafty Here!
She decided to stay a bit longer and called out that she was hiding and we were to use our noses to search for her.

Holly was sitting on top of the Sea Wall, right above where Snowflake was hiding and pretending she hadn't seen Snowflake, started to call out that Snowflake was lost and we should all search for her along the waters edge!

Oh No! Where has Snowflake gone!
Of course Snowflake soon worked out that Holly was only joking and called her a cheeky puppy!

Then all of a sudden, Snowflake dived into the sea shells on the beach saying that she could sniff ferret!

She was getting all excited and saying that it might be a lost and lonely ferret who needed to be rescued like wot she was and OTL would look after the little lost ferret and she would give it lots of cuddles and keep it warm.

I Sniff a Lost Ferret!
Holly came down from the Sea Wall to have a sniff and declared that the sniff was indeed ferret, but it was an old wee spot that Snowflake had done yesterday!

Snowflake was so embarrassed!

Back home we all burst through the door to find Auntie Sheila there with The Missus making cards and sloshing the glue pot about.

'Come on' says Holly, heading for the stairs, 'Let's get the Woof outta here before we get covered in Glue & Glitter and end up like a sparkly ball of fur!

Auntie Sheila, one of the Glue & Glitter Girls!
Lunchtime came and we went for our walk again but it was raining and after OTL had kicked us out of the car we had a little mooch about and tried to get back into the car, Holly and I just don't do rain, it's too dangerous 'cos you can get a cold and The Snuffles and you could end up in bed feeling all rotten!

The afternoon was spent snoozing on the bed while OTL was playing about with his camera. He was trying to take a picture of a long dead moth. One of those tiny moths that seem to appear on a summers evening and fly around the light.

Well, this one has been laying dead on the Office window ledge for ages and was about to get vacuumed up, together with the inch of dust that OTL keeps there as well!

But just for fun it became the 'Model' for the shoot!

Mortified Moth, Head On!
Now, just to let you see what sort of size it is, the picture below is the moth, on top of a drawing pin!

The drawing pin was stuck in the top of a wooden something or other that has been kicking around the office for years, we think it held the roll of paper kitchen towel!

Still Mortified!
By the way, did you like the play on the word Mortify? It was Holly's idea 'cos she is clever like that!

TM's off to her Master Class tomorrow so OTL has been instructed to get on with the decorating that he should have finished ages ago!

Tomorrow we are looking forward to a good long snooze while he is working!

Bye bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles

Whizz Bangs, Cuddles and Sniffs!

Hello Woofers!

Here we are, Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

After we posted the blog last night Holly and I successfully mugged Old Two Legs for some Gammon from his dinner plate! Mmmmm!

We all settled down to a snoozy evening when some Bozo of a Two Legs started letting off loud Whizz Bangs that got Holly all wound up again.

This time we knew exactly what she wanted and we all had an early night, we were off to bed with lots of cuddles and she didn't even wake us all up later to go for a wee!

In the morning, we ran into the office just before OTL got strapped into his rowing machine and gave him a 'Good Morning' lick, before he got all sweaty again!

The ferrets were all full of life this morning as well, chasing each other all over the place, in and out of the cardboard boxes and tubes that OTL has made into an 'Adventure Playground'

Mr Brambles 'War Wound' is getting better but it is still a bit raw where the stitch pulled out but at least he is not worrying it, so we reckon it should be good and dry by the time he goes back to visit the vet!

Our run down on the Sea Wall was a bit damp this morning 'cos there was a lot of rain last night. We didn't meet any other Woofers but we did see a couple of Green Woodpeckers that we hadn't see much of this summer.

Mind you, by the time I had seen them then pointed them out to 'The Gang', they had flown further up the Sea Wall!

Here! Look! Green Woodpeckers............................Oh!........There they Go!
Snowflake and I were sniffin' around the log again and we were comparing sniffs and what bugs were inside the log!

See, it jumped from this rock onto the log and then went down the hole!
Snowflake seemed convinced that it was some sort of wood boring beetle or worm that spent it's life eating away wooden ships!

.....and when it gets here, it turns around and goes back again!
Holly wasn't too impressed 'cos she had studied wood boring worms at evening classes and reckons that they get rid of them nowadays with special paint that replicates the action of copper mixed with sea water.

She is such a clever Woofer sometimes!

Mind you, it didn't stop Snowflake and I from doing some more investigating, even if Holly was bored with the sniff!

Look! it came out here for a breath of fresh sea water!
Back home we got Chicken and Biscuits for breakfast but it was a bit cold. When OTL does our breakfast he makes sure it is good and warm, and we get all the skin as well but The Missus leaves it for a while to cool down and it's just not the same.

We'll have to get OTL to give her instructions on how to cook and serve our meals!

Mr Brambles was all tucked up in bed 'Convalescencing' as he calls it, we call it 'Snoring his head Off'!

Just having a 'Convalescence'!
He said that he is looking forward to being let out for a walk again and he's getting a bit fed up with staying in doors all day.

Lunch time came and OTL had to deliver some stuff down town, so, off we went singing our driving songs! Of course, having been good little girls we demanded to be taken for an 'Adventure' so OTL took us to The Forrest!

Now you wouldn't normally describe The Forrest as an adventure but as soon as we had got off the lead, OTL put us back on the lead again 'cos we saw Monsters following us!

Don't look behind you but.............!
That was it, were off and around the corner as soon as we saw them! Once they had wandered off we went in search of Squirrels!

We searched all around the trees and bushes and in the undergrowth and under the fallen trees and in the 'Squirrel Holes' in the trees but, we didn't find a single squirrel!

No, nuffin' up here either!
Having decided that all the squirrels had run away or were hibernating already, we went hunting Badgers!

Here be Badgers, but they're not at home!
We found some Badger sniffs but no sign of them scurrying around the woods today, we were Badgerless!

I decided that if there were no Badgers then we should go back to 'Huntin' Squirrel' 'cos we're good at hunting squirrel but that is when we see a squirrel and we have seen squirrels here before and therefore there must be squirrels here now!

WazzataSquirrelIHeardThen?
Again we hunted high and low and stood and listened to the forest telling us what was about and we still saw nuffin'!

WazzataNuverSquirrelHiding?
Holly reckons that they were all hiding in their Winter Dreys, chomping on nuts and keeping warm by roasting their toes on the fire!

It was very squidgy on the path all the way around and at times OTL had to go off the path and into the trees to save falling over in the quaggy bits!

All in all it was a fun time and an adventure!

Back home we both had a snooze before Holly caught the sniff of food being prepared and you know what that means? It's Mugging Time!

We're off to see what it is and if it's worth mugging!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles (also known as Grumpy!)
