A Ferreting Friday!

Hi Ho Woofers!

It's us again, Daisy, Holly, Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Wot a Grotty start to a Friday, it was raining all the way down to the beach and both Holly and I didn't think the idea of walking in the rain again the best idea Old Two Legs has come up with today!

When we arrived in the car park the rain had just stopped, so it was full charge down the path, or shall I call it a Bog!

There was water everywhere, mud sloshing about at the bottom of the puddles and just as much water and mud off the path as well as on the path!

Down on the beach Mr Brambles went hunting the Monsters who keep pinching his holes, he reckons that they live under the sea weed or lurk beneath the rocks!

Come out, I know your here somewhere!
Of course, the monsters stayed hidden and in the end Mr Brambles got fed up with hunting Monsters, so he went off to 'Hunt Some Dog'!

Mr Brambles 'Hunting Dog'!
Lunch time we had to do some guard duty as OTL had to visit someone and of course as a thank you he took us to the Riverside Park!

Sunshine and the Riverside Park! We were almost beside ourselves! Holly found a wreck of a boat and asked if we could take it home with us and mend it but OTL said there wasn't enough room in the garden for it!

Pleeeeese, Can We Take It Home With Us?
Next we came across a metal wreck and Holly said that wouldn't be as much fun as the wooden one!

No thanks, too heavy!
OTL has got a thing about this Infrared Photography and I must say that some of them are getting quite reasonable!

On a tripod with a little more attention to Hyperfocal focusing and it could be OK!
The power station across the river looked good, as far as a power station can look good this far away! And what a strange sky! The Missus doesn't like this one, so OTL put it in, just to give her something to moan about!

Well, OTL likes it!
The best one I think is the one where Holly and I are heading towards the end of the path which ends in a place called Horrid Hill! No, I don't know why nor do I know the story behind the name. I suppose we will have to ask Michael or Trevor who are into this sort of information!

Off to Horrid Hill!
When we got back home, we found the post man had been and delivered the Ferret Snuggle Bag Bed Thingy Wotsit that OTL had ordered for the ferrets!

It's like a hammock but with a pocket that they can crawl into and go to sleep. OTL had noticed that sometimes they crawl under a blanket and fall asleep all snug and warm.

So, from the same place he got the Ferret Bag, he ordered this Snuggle Bag Bed Thingy.

Snowflake just loves it and has been investigating it and trying it out for sleeping and also bouncing up and down on!

She has decided that it is 'The Dogs DooDars' and there is no way any dog is going to share it!

It is for her, and Mr Brambles, who hasn't seen it yet 'cos he hasn't woken up yet, he is still sleeping and dreaming of running. You can tell what he is dreaming about 'cos he is either sleeping on his back with all his legs doing the running action or he is eating 'cos we can see him moving his jaws!

This is Super, Thanks Daddy!
Now I know you are dying to see the Ferret and the Egg video but you are going to have to wait 'cos remember the video will take a day and a half to up load to YouTube, so be a good two legs and wait until we tell you it's read!

Bye bye for now, we're off to watch the Winter Olympics 'cos Snowflake wants to learn how to ride a Snow Board!

Yeah! Right!

Bye bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles

Wet, Again!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here.

It has been another of those wet and damp days!

This morning we went out for our normal walk and left home without our rain coats. Not a very good idea as it turned out, as soon as we got to the car park, it started to rain, not very much but enough to make us a bit damp.

The ferrets were tucked up in their carry bag and even Mr Brambles kept his nose 'Below the Top of the Bag'!

That was until we got to the beach, then it stopped raining and Mr Brambles was out like a shot!

Miss Snowflake was a little slower but that's not unusual!

Down on the beach, the tide had washed all the cockle shells up to the top of the beach and when it couldn't wash them any further, it piled them up one on top of each other. Now this left a sort of cliff where it went from sand up to shells. Normally this is a gentle slope but today it was more like a mountain to the ferrets!

Miss Snowflake had been doing some reading about 'Plate Tectonics' and said that it could be Subduction or a Fault Line!

Yes, after some study I think it maybe Subduction!
Holly and I were a bit confused, we had never heard of the Sheerness Fault Line!

Why can't it be the Grain Fault Line?
What ever it was, it took a little time before the pair of them could climb up to the top, in fact it was a bit of a scramble!

Come on Girl, Keep Going!
Of course, once they had climbed it, Miss Snowflake went of sniffin' the Sea Wall while Mr Brambles dug another hole!

We were disturbed by a Spaniel standing on the Sea Wall and woofing at us all. Well, I think he was woofing at the ferrets and Miss Snowflake had run up to Old Two Legs to be picked up while Mr Brambles stood next to me and asked me if I'll 'Sort out the Woofer'!

I said that he was OK and both Holly and I woofed and told the Spaniel to 'Woof Off' and stop scaring Our Family!

Don't worry, we'll sort it!
Mr Brambles was dead impress when the woofer headed off and left us alone!

Back home OTL was doing his morning chores by cleaning out the ferret house and normally I am kept out of the office 'cos the ferrets are given the run of the place while OTL does his stuff.

Today he came up with a super idea, my cushion was put up on the work surface and then me plonked on top! Right On OTL! That's me sorted, safe, and the ferrets can do what they want on the floor!

All safe and sound!
The rest of the day was Yuk! It rained and it rained and even when we were dragged out at lunch time it was still raining and we got wet and you know what?

We didn't even do a wee!

Let's hope there is a break in the weather before we go to bed or we may be getting OTL up in the middle of the night to let us out!

OTL has finally managed to up load some new pictures to his Photo Site, the system kept shutting down, we reckon it's the rain that is causing the problem! you can find his stuff on www.ken-godwin.co.uk

See you tomorrow Woofers!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles Still Impressed!)

Waddadayithasbeentoday!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles back with you again.

What a Horrid Yucky, Wet and Damp Day it has been!

First thing this morning we headed off to the beach and the wind was blowing straight down the Medway!

Miss Snowflake kept on turning around to face the wind and walked backwards down the beach!

She said that she didn't like getting her fur messed up in the wind!

If I point this way my fur goes flat!
Mr Brambles got digging straight away and he says that today he will make hole that won't get washed away by the tide!

We'll start by opening a trench about here!
He really got going and managed to extend the trench to half way down the beach, well, he said it was half way down the beach anyway!

Steady Girl or we'll both be in the Sea!
Holly and I had a laugh but as we were further down the beach, they didn't hear us!

Careful Dear, don't fall in!
Old Two Legs took this picture of the sun shining from behind the clouds but as he only had the 'Point and Shoot' camera he was in trouble 'cos the screen where he looks to see what he is taking, has stopped working, so he is really having to 'Point, Shoot & Pray'!

We have seen better!
Back home it was Chicken for breakfast but we were disturbed by the Tree Men who had arrived to chop down all the trees in the front garden 'cos they are in danger of being blown down onto the house and the caravan!

It was all whir and gnaw and grind and by mid afternoon they had done enough to let all the light in the front windows!

Lunch time we went down the Sea Wall again but it was raining, in fact it was so wet that I decided that if Holly and OTL wanted a walk, they can jolly well go on their own!

I had done my business and was off back to the car. Holly said that she would be up there soon but she had some stuff to do first!

I went and stood by the car and refused to look at OTL 'cos I knew he would call me and make me go for the whole mile walk and I wasn't having that for anything!

So There!

No, I'm not looking, just get up here and open the door!
Back home we cuddled up under the desk in the  office and snoozed the rest of the day away, just like little doggies should!

Now, yesterday Pat asked what a 'Working Ferret' was, Well, ferrets have been domesticated for thousands of year and have been used for hunting wild rabbits. They are still used today for chasing the rabbits out of the warrens so the Two Legs can catch them to eat. That is called a 'Working Ferret' and Miss Snowflake was a Working Ferret before she found her way into our garden just over a year ago. Now she says that working was fun but she would rather do what she is doing now 'cos it is so easy and she gets to cuddle Mr Brambles all day! Mr Brambles on the other hand has never been out chasing rabbits all he ever did was make some baby ferrets which he reckons was more fun that chasing rabbits!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake (Retired) and Mr Brambles.

It's Good News Day for Miss Twinkle!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Miss Twinkle and Mr Brambles here with some good news!

This morning Old Two Legs got an SMS on his phone from a man who says that Twinkle is his. OTL telephoned him back and he described Twinkle to OTL's satisfaction and he is going to come over this evening to pick her up!

It seems that OTL and the notices on all those lamp posts and bus stops did 'The Business'!

We will find out this evening the whole story of Miss Twinkle and her history, so, more news when it arrives!

Down on the beach Mr Brambles was showing off 'cos he had dug a super big hole in the sand but this morning it had gone!

He reckons someone had pinched it!

OK, Who Nicked Me Hole?
Miss Snowflake said she would help him look for it but we reckon she was just trying to calm him down!

I'll Look Up Here Dear!
Mind you, it didn't help with us two woofers calling out 'It's Behind You!'

Doesn't he show off so?
Miss Snowflake asked where all the cockles had gone 'cos all that remained was the shells but Mr B was too busy looking for his hole. He even suggested we had something to do with it, as if!

So Many Shells, So Few Holes!
On the Rock Wall, Miss Snowflake was demonstrating the 'Reverse Climb' to us. She said that it was easy for her to do it as she is very fond of walking backwards. Holly said that you have to be careful going backwards 'cos you may fall into a hole.

Mr Brambles was Not Amused!

And this is the Reverse Traverse!
It wasn't long before Mr Brambles got fed up with our jokes and decided it was time to get home for some breakfast!

Come on Girl, Home!
We had chicken for breakfast this morning which is a lot better than Doggy Scoff and of course, we spent all morning snoozing in OTL's office. Miss Twinkle came out and had a cuddle with OTL and even managed to fall asleep on OTL's arm with her head resting on his fingers!

I think she will miss cuddles with OTL when she leaves!

Lunch time we were out again and OTL took his Infrared Camera Thingy to have a play as the sun was shining.

I asked if OTL would take a picture of me doing my 'Flying Trick' and now that I've looked at it, don't I look serious!

Low Flying Pooch!
Holly wouldn't have a go at flying, she said that the best she would do was to sit in the passenger seat and let OTL do the flying home!

Stuff Flying, just drive me home!
About half way through the afternoon Miss Twinkles owner called to pick her up and it seems that she is part of a 'Working Pack' of ferrets. She hasn't got a name but OTL told him we called her Miss Twinkle!

He said that she was a feisty ferret and would only stay in the same cage as her brother, who looks exactly the same as her!

So, she is a lucky ferret to get back home after about three weeks of being lost, one week spent with us and two weeks living on her own!

The only camera OTL had to hand was the Infrared Thingy, so, here you are, a final picture of Miss Twinkle before she left OTL to go back to her home.

Bye Bye Twinkle!
Mr Brambles and Miss Snowflake said that as much as they liked having Twinkle stay with us, it was a lot more 'Comfortable' being back with just the two of them!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, and Mr Brambles.

Miss Twinkle said Bye Bye to you as well!

The Hunt is On!

Hi Woofers!

Us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Miss Twinkle and Mr Brambles back again!

Another sunny but windy day today!

Old Two Legs was treated to a good 'Get Up' licking this morning, about four thirty, well, we had just completed another 'Puppy Patrol' around the house and wanted to 'Report In'!

OTL just grumbled and turned over and went back to sleep!

The ferrets had some fun on the beach, Holly and I start to dig a big hole when Mr Brambles charged in and took it over! He is a right bully sometimes, I mean, it was our idea and our hole!

We'll Be Back!
Of course, Mr Brambles went off to do his own thing and I thought it was safe to get back in the hole, little did I know who was creeping up behind!

Softly Softly!
Just when I got going, who should creep in? Miss 'Sneaky' Snowflake!

Nearly scared to Tail off me!

Yikes! Where did she come from!
That was it, we gave up digging and headed back home for an exciting bowl of Doggy Scoff!

Lunch time the tide was right in and the wind was blowing down the Medway, so although it was sunny, it was still a bit cold when the wind got into your face!

We spotted a couple of Fishermen on the beach and OTL passed the time of day with his normal question of 'Any Luck Yet?' 'No' was the answer but as one said, 'it's better than working!'

Nothing Yet!
It was fun watching the waves crash into the Sea Wall and Holly asked if I fancied a swim, Silly Woofer!

Wet and Windy!
OTL that it would be too cold for swimming or even a paddle and as Holly was standing at the Sea Wall a wave splashed up in front of her!

Close one!
We met up with a few of the lads and of course all of them said 'Hello' to OTL and they all had a cuddle with him. The wind was a bit strong and pretty soon we were all asking to get on home!

Pleeeese! Let's Go Home!
Back home the ferrets were still sleeping, Mr Brambles on the cushion, Miss Snowflake in the SAS Bag and Miss Twinkle was half in and half out of the Ssssh Bag!

OTL had printed up some notices and sealed them in laminate to protect them from the rain. Off we went and using cable ties, he strapped them to loads of lamp posts and bus stops all along the main road in and out of the area where Twinkle had been found, and he even put one outside the school gates!

So,  fingers crossed, Twinkles owners may see the notices and give OTL a ring, but if they don't, well, I'm sure that in time she will settle down with us!

OTL reckons that she is a 'Lone Ferret' 'cos when she is with Mr Brambles and Snowflake she is a bit 'Snappy' but when she is outside the cage and in OTL's arms, she will happily lay on his arm for twenty minutes being stroked with out wriggling or trying to move!

So OTL reckons that she has a family somewhere who hopefully is missing her and will see the notices on the lamp posts, claws crossed!

Let's see what the next few days will bring!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Miss Twinkle and Mr Brambles.

No Videos Today!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Miss Twinkle and Mr Brambles here again!

You know, we reckon that we have just two more names we can add to the list before it spills over into two lines!

It has been a Sunny Sunday down here in North Kent. Old Two Legs got his paddle around the office this morning on his rowing machine. We have been checking on the settings and he is now at the maximum drag and is averaging fifteen hundred strokes in a thirty minute paddle!

Oooh! He is so fit!

Fit for what we aren't too sure but he does try!

This morning Miss Twinkle had her very own bowl of Lactose Free Milk! Yesterday she managed to rob a few slurps off Mr Brambles and Miss Snowflake but today it was a bowl full for her!

A Slurping Trio!
Down on the beach it was all sunshine and a little wind, just to keep the temperature down! Miss Snowflake took a little while to get going but a couple of cuddles from Mr Brambles got her moving and soon she was chasing after OTL asking to be picked up!

Come on Girl, get your tail in gear!
Mr Brambles was well into hole digging again and this time it sort of grew into a deep trench!

Brambles Earth Moving and Trenching Company!
While all this digging was going on Holly and I set off to investigate a particularly strange sniff on the beach. It was coming from something that had been washed up on the tide but we couldn't work out what it was or had been!

Holly did suggest that we may sneak a quick roll but when we looked around, there was OTL, watching us while the ferrets dug holes around his feet!

What do you reckon, worth a roll?
There was a load of noise when the Oyster Catchers landed for a feed. Mr Brambles asked it they tasted of chicken and Holly said that every bird tastes of chicken!

Oyster Catching Chickens?
Back home things were looking up, Mr Brambles and Miss Snowflake were cuddled up in their Ssssh Sleeping bag when Miss Twinkle stuck her head over the side and nipped Mr Brambles!

OTL told Miss Twinkle off and she backed off and went for a wander around Snowy Heights!

She is certainly testing the boundaries with the other two and Miss Snowflake looks like she is getting the worse of it.  When she gets too worried she climbs up to the hammock and rattles the cage so that OTL opens the door and she climbs into his hands and arm for a cuddle, just to make it all better. It would be a shame if Miss Twinkle got too bossy and OTL had to make a decision on her continued residence in Snowy Towers! Mind you, OTL has come up with another explanation, Miss Twinkle has yet to learn her manners! You see, she likes to snooze in the 'Ssssh Bag' and it maybe that she was trying to get the other two out so she could climb in for a snooze?

Typical teenager, no manners and they think the world is theirs!

A bit later, we were all having a snooze and when OTL looked into Snowy Heights and he saw.......

Getting Better!
So, maybe there is hope, but it has only been five days since Miss Twinkle arrived and three days since they were put together, so we have some time before the question comes up!

Down on the Sea Wall at lunch time, the sun was still shining and as it is Sunday, all the Two Legs were out for a stroll, or in this case, a sit down!

Sunday on The Beach!
No sign of any food, so Holly and I didn't even stop!

A bit further on we came across Lucy and we have met her before and she is a right 'Grumble Guts' growling at us for no reason at all! When her owner tried to give us a nibble, Lucy nearly bit our heads off! She was going potty! In the end she refused to look at us and just stood there grumbling!

Grumble Guts Lucy!
We didn't hang around, well, if we weren't going to get a nibble or a sniff, then it was a waste of time hanging around!

Just around the corner we met up with Jack & Joe, a couple we hadn't seen before. We all had a sniff and Holly asked if the felt silly in those jackets on a sunny day like today!

Silly? They said they felt terribly embarrassed and almost ashamed to show their tails!

This is So Embarrassing!
It was very difficult not to laugh, so we trotted on trying to suppress our giggling!

Back home, the ferrets were still asleep, so it was all quiet in Snowy Heights!

It was good to read that Archie has finally got his boiler installed, now he can go back to snoozing on the blanket instead of having to cuddle up and share it with everyone!

We're off to watch a DVD now and then afterwards, OTL will have a game with the ferrets, just before they go to bed for the night.

It's a hard life being a Four Legs in this house you know!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Miss Twinkle and Mr Brambles.

OTL's a Plonker, OTL's a Plonker!

Hi Woofers!

It's us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Miss Twinkle and Mr Brambles!

And, just for Michael, it's always 'Ladies First'!

Well, didn't we have a laugh this morning when we looked at the video and realised that he had put on the 'Out-Takes' instead of the proper one!

As Holly says 'Wot A Plonker!'

So, here you are, the real one!

Miss Twinkle meets the Gang, II

First thing this morning we were off to take The Missus up to the village hall for her 'Master Class', you should have seen the amount of stuff she takes!

Next was the beach, again there was just as much water on land as there was out to sea! OTL says that there is more coming plus a Spring Tide, so that should be interesting at lunch time!

The Curlew  called out that he had heard that Ferret tasted like worm and would we care to throw him one!

Snowflake said that all birds taste like chicken and would we throw her!

OTL said we all had to leave the birds alone. Spoil Sport! Mind you, a 'Flying Ferret' would be an unusual sight, even for The River Medway!

Tasty Chicken?
Mr Brambles and I were playing chase and he offered to run behind me but I knew what he was up to, he just wanted to nip my legs, sneaky little ferret!

You are just Too Crafty Mr B!
Snowflake was shivering to wake up and she said that the camera couldn't focus on her 'cos she was shivering so badly and could OTL pick her up?

OTL suggested she do a couple of laps around the beach to wake up and get warm but she said it was better in the ferret bag!

Go On, Pick Me Up!
Back home it has been 'House Keeping Day' for Snowy Heights, a change of bedding and a vacuum up of all the nibbles the ferrets stash under the bed! Then, out comes the bucket of warm water for a wash down, just to get rid of the bits that had got wet and stuck to the floor!

On the bottom level is was the same except that it is Cat Litter that had been thrown out of the Poo Pot! OTL has noticed that Miss Twinkle is using the same Poo Pot as Miss Snowflake, leaving Mr Brambles his own Poo Pot to be messy in!

Lunch time we were down the Sea Wall again and although the tide was in, it wasn't very big waves at all!

That was a Splash?
When we got back we all had a look at the ferrets and, yes, they were all sleeping, getting closer but still not in a Ferret Ball!

Spot Miss Twinkle!
Now, sorry the blog is late but we can all blame OTL for messing up the video and also we can blame the terrible Broadband link we have down here in the Wilds of Kent!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Miss Twinkle and Mr Brambles.

More Developments from Snowy Heights!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Snowflake, Twinkle and Mr Brambles here again!

First of all, I think it was a bit much that the vet made Old Two Legs cry but as OTL says, 'They're in the game to make money' and OTL was thinking of the ferrets well being first. Mind you, OTL has a long memory and if the vet ever wanted to by some radio communication equipment.................?

Enough of controversy, there is more exciting things to tell you!

OTL rolled out of bed a bit late this morning and staggered into the office for him morning paddle, sat down on the rowing machine and started to paddle. Three and a quarter minutes later he had to give it up 'cos both Holly and I ran in and gave him our 'Good Morning Lick' on his nose. Then Both Mr Brambles and Miss Snowflake started to rattle on the cage door, and, on top of that, Miss Twinkle was up and rattling her cage door as well!

Holly and I dived off down stairs to see what The Missus was doing while OTL decided what to do.

What he did was, firstly, he let Mr Brambles and Miss Snowflake out onto the floor. Then he got the 'Adventure playground out and spread it over the floor.

Then he got Miss Twinkle out of her cage and put her on the floor!

Well, it was some fast moving ferrets ducking and diving in and out of the boxes and loads of sniffing going on. Miss Twinkle snapped at Miss Snowflake, no harm done, Mr Brambles climbed onto Miss Twinkles back in a show of pseudo sexual dominance! I say pseudo 'cos his nick name is Mr No Nuts!

Miss Twinkle got the message 'cos she let go with a very strong sniff that OTL said sniffed something like a strong urine. There was no poo on the floor and the boxes had a very small puddle of wee on them. OTL wasn't too sure about that but thinks it could have been a ferret signal that said 'I'm not in season, I'm a bit scared and Keep yer Nose Away!'

After that, there was loads of running, hiding, sniffing, licking Ferretone bottle cap and running to OTL for a cuddle. (Miss Snowflake mainly!)

OTL got most of this on video and if he can get it edited today we will attach it to the blog about now!

Miss Twinkle was put back in her cage while us and the ferrets went out for our morning walk. The ferrets were tickled to be out again and Miss Snowflake even fell into a puddle that was deeper than she thought it was!

Back home and OTL put them all together again and things settled down for 'Morning Snooze' until we went out again for our lunch time stroll.

OTL took a picture of them snoozing but we did notice that they don't cuddle up yet. Miss Snowflake has decided to sleep on the hammock, Mr B is in his place on the cushion and Twinkle is underneath the cushion!

In time they will sort it all out!

Now, OTL is trying to load up a video, so, while you are waiting, here is a photo we took earlier!

In Time, Maybe!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Snowflake, Twinkle and Mr Brambles
