We hear our First Cuckoo!

Hello Woofers!

It's Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here again!

Guess What? We have heard our first Cuckoo this year! It was giving it some 'Welly' as we got out of the car for our morning walk and we could hear it all the way around our walk. Holly did at on stage ask if it tasted like chicken!

Miss Snowflake was caught off guard and thought it was a Hawk or Buzzard or even a Nargle!

Wossat Making That Row?
Mind you, she says that about almost every noise she hears!

She kept hiding every time the Cuckoo started calling and every time she asked.......

Is It Dangerous?
Back home to some Ox Heart and a snooze!

Lunchtime we met up with Spike who was having a brush on the Sea Wall, he said he could put up with it all day if need be!

Spike said that he was fourteen years old and enjoys the sort of activity that involves laying down on his back or his tummy or his side!

Spike, having a strenuous work out!
Old Two Legs was having an Infrared Day 'cos he hasn't played with the Infrared Thingy for some time, so, off he went clicking at everything he could see.

A Red Butterfly that isn't red!
Then of course, I found a stick and OTL threw it in the sea for me to fetch and I made sure to keep my tail up in the air!

Periscope Up!
There was just enough of a wave to help me back onto the beach every time I went in. OTL says that if the waves get bigger I will be able to surf back onto the beach!

A Surfin' Beach Babe!
We went into town to take some stuff to the carriers and also get some fuel for the little car. It was OK but a little boring 'cos OTL wouldn't let us woof at the cats we saw!

I'm Bored, can we go home now?
Even Holly agreed with me and told OTL to......

Wake me when we get home!
OTL says he is going to wash the caravan tomorrow, let's hope it doesn't rain!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

It's Windy Down Here in North Kent!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here with you again!

I don't know what it's been like where you are but here we have had sunshine together with a stiff breeze the last two days! Not that it worries us, the ferrets get tucked up in their 'Ferret Bag' and stay warm and Holly and I have a good covering of hair to stop us getting chilly. Not so Old Two Legs who is getting on a bit and says that he 'Feels The Cold'. Maybe we should get him a big warm blanket to wrap up in when he goes out!

Down on The Beach both ferrets got a move on and headed back towards the path back to the car, they said it was just 'Too Windy' on the beach and they didn't want OTL to catch a cold!

I was more interested in the sniff that was coming in on the breeze, I was sure it was Kebab and Chips and it was coming from the right direction, Margate!

Mmmm! Kebab and Chips with no Chilly Sauce!
On the steps leading up to the path a big pile of newly mown grass had been blown down the steps. Mr Brambles dived straight in and had a glorious roll in it saying that he 'Just Loves New Mown Grass'!

I jus' Love grass!
Miss Snowflake on the other paw said that she much preferred the feel of 'Growing Grass' under her paws!

Give me the real stuff!
While the ferrets were discussing the finer points of grass texture, I thought I saw a Monster in the grass. I did my 'Standing Up And Looking Big And Fierce Bit' and I gave the Monster a real good woofing.

OTL came past with the ferrets and asked why I was woofing at a bush?

I did feel a Bozo!

That Monster is Waving at Me!
Back to home and a bowl of chicken for breakfast.

OTL was still messing about with stuff on the bench and seemed to be very busy, so we left him to it and sneaked of for a snooze on the bed!

Lunch time  arrived and The Missus pinched the small car to do some shopping, so off we went in the big car that OTL had spent the weekend cleaning the inside and getting rid of all the stones and ferret hair from the seats.

Today, he put the back seats down and made us ride in the back, 'So We Don't Mess p The Seats With Our Paws', as if!

The tide was right in but I didn't go in swimming 'cos it was still windy and blowing the waves about.

Holly and I went off sniffing and trying to mug the fishermen for a sarnie or two but they had eaten them all by the time we got there!

No Fish and No Sarnies!
We came across one fisherman we see quite often and he was throwing his worm out into the water to teach him how to swim. Holly did ask if it would be easier if he took the lead weight off the line!

Get out and Swim!
OTL was keeping a good lookout for insects but, just the same as yesterday, it was too windy and he had great difficulty in getting anything to stay still. They all seemed to be flying past at 100MPH!

He did manage to get this one of a fly called a Flesh Fly, (He identified it when we got home) and said that close by there had been a dead rat, so the fly must have been feeding on that and also laying it's larvae on it as well!

Flesh Fly
We didn't hang about 'cos we didn't want any fly laying larvae on us!

Then we bumped into a butterfly which we think could be a female Orange Tip. The male has super Orange tips to it's wings!

Female Orange Tip
We had been running about all over the place and as we headed back to the car, Holly mentioned the fact that we hadn't seen a rabbit all day!

Most unusual!

Do you realise, we haven't seen a rabbit all day!

Back in the car OTL made us get into the car at the back and sit in the back of the car 'cos we had 'Dusty Paws'

We reckon he should get us a proper carpet we could wipe our paws on as we got in the car, at least that would stop him moaning about our paw marks!

Off now to wait for TM, she should be back soon and we have got to give her a warm welcome when she arrives!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Another Busy Day!

Hi Woofers!

We're back again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

We were all up late today and Old Two Legs says it was Holly's fault 'cos she woofed for OTL to lift her up on the bed at three thirty this morning.

OTL said that he was thinking of putting us both in a Doggy Bed and shutting us in the garden shed if he got woken up anymore!

Then he went back to dreaming about being stuck on a mountain in the snow!

OK, Where are those dogs or am I dreaming again?
Down on the beach we had a good run and a chase. Even the ferrets said it was easier to run along the Wall of Death with shorter claws!

Just watch the speed!
Miss Snowflake said that she could get a 'Real Lick On' with the shortened claws!

Speedy Snowflake!
We got to discussing Holly and her Jungle Training, Miss Snowflake tried out hiding in the 'Jungle' but still couldn't turn green like wot Holly says she can do!

OK, am I Green Now?
Mr Brambles was getting close to disappearing in the grass but not because he turned green but rather he just hid underneath the vegetation!

Look, almost hidden!
It was then that the ferrets tried to creep up on Holly and me as we were having a 'Sniff'. We let them get close, but not too close, and then we just ran away, which really messed up their 'Pincer Movement'!

Classic Pincer Movement!
When Miss Snowflake finally crept out of the undergrowth expecting a couple of doggy's to be sniffing the sniffs, there was nothing!

OK, Where have they gone now?
Lunchtime OTL put the 105mm lens on the camera expecting to photograph insects and stuff but you know what? Nothing! The wind was too blowy and all the insects were tucked up in bed and sleeping!

Poor OTL, still there is always next time!

See you all tomorrow, we're off to have some Ox Heart for dinner!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

We Love Mondays!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles!

What a super sun shiny day today! We were out early this morning 'cos Holly and I jumped onto Old Two Legs and gave him the 'Monday Morning Lick' on his ear and bald patch on his head!

That got him moving!

Both ferrets were awake as well and were rattling the cage door to be let out for their morning slurp of Lactose Free Milk!

They do so love that stuff, me, I can take it or leave it but the ferrets, slurp, slurp until the bowl is empty!

Now we have a bit of a problem here. The Missus doesn't like flash pictures of Miss Snowflake 'cos it makes her eyes brighter than normal and every time she sees Snowflake she says 'Yuk!' and that upsets Snowflake!

So. I want you to vote on the best picture of Miss Snowflake, get ready, which is the best?

The Real Miss Snowflake
 OR

A Photoshop Miss Snowflake
Mind you, we could take a photo of TM and retouch her eyes to make them look red!

 Scary or Wot!

After OTL had cleaned out the poo pots and changed the water and filled the food bowl and made the bed in the ferret house, we all headed off to The Beach!

Holly and I were out of the car and down to the Rabbit Chasing Ground ASAP!

OTL got both ferrets into their 'Ferret Bag' and followed us down the path. Miss Snowflake climbed out and took up her 'Watch Out' position on OTL's arm while Mr Brambles stuck his head out and asked .........

'....are we there yet?'
The tide was out so I couldn't have a swim but we did race up and down the sandy beach and Miss Snowflake found some dried sea weed and showed us how she could disappear from view in a flash!

Bet you can't see me now!
Just for a laugh, the ferrets were running back and forth along the Wall of Death and both complained that their claws needed clipping 'cos they couldn't grip onto the wall properly, so, that was a job for OTL when we get back!

We need a Claw Trim!
On the grass it was no problem and Mr Brambles showed how he can accelerate from a standing start on the grass when he digs his claws in!

Barrrrrumph!
Yeah, OK, we believe you, anything for a quiet walk!

Holly had some fun, while Mr Brambles and Miss Snowflake were ferreting around in the grass and stuff, 'Sniffin the Sniffs'. Holly hid in the undergrowth and waited until they walked past, then she stuck her head out and went 'WOOF'!

Well, both ferrets jumped back in surprise and Holly laughed her tail off!

'You see' says Holly, 'I've been trained in Jungle Warfare'!

The Natives called me 'She Who Turns Green in The Jungle'!
Both ferrets were seriously impressed and asked Holly to tell them stories about her time in the jungle when we all got home but unfortunately, Holly's voice sort of sent them to sleep!

That's a good story!
Still, not to worry, they will wake up this evening and if Holly is awake, she can tell the story again!

Lunch time we were a little late for our walk, I was having a snooze after my late breakfast of chicken and biscuits!

The tide was in but there was a stiff breeze blowing so OTL said that I couldn't go in swimming 'cos it was too rough.

So I went in for a 'Deep Paddle'!

OK, Paddle over, now, where's the Sniffs?
Holly was taking the Micky out of me and calling me a Soggy Doggy, just like yesterday!

Not Soggy, just damp around the edges!
OTL was into the insects again and soon found a Ladybird chomping away on the new flowers coming through.

Next time it will be the 105mm Macro Lens!
The wind didn't help and the flowers were blowing all over the place, OTL had to hold the Ladybird plant just so he could get a focus lock on the thing!

He had the same problem with the Buzzy Bee Thingy but we are not too sure what it is, a Bee or a Hover Fly or something we haven't named yet!

A Buzzy Bee Thingy!
OTL spent time looking in his 'British Insects book but other than a 'Bee' he can't pin it down on the exact name!

All the time were were down on The Sea Wall we could hear a noise like a strangled chicken, OTL said it was a Pheasant calling for his mate! We were not so sure, Holly thought it was a Nargle or even worse a Big Bear!

When she got to the seat and table she jumped up to take a look down the hill but still couldn't see what was making the noise!

Well, I know it's there but I can't see It!
It wasn't long before we had to have our leads put on and of course, as soon as that happened, what did we see?

A Sneaky Rabbit!
That was just too much!

Back home for a snooze before dinner!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

TM is off to Ally Pally and we try another lens!

Hello Woofers!

Us here, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

I don't know what it is but every time this Ally Pally Thingy Wotsit  comes around The Missus goes just a little potty, well, more potty than normal!

This morning she was up at four, playing on the laptop and then she went into 'Sort Mode' and then there was the 'Let's Tidy Up The Card Bits' and finally, 'Let's Switch On All The Lights and Wake up everyone'!

Old Two Legs was not happy, especially as he had to get up early and take TM and her mates to the station!

That meant that we had to go out early for our morning walk which didn't please the ferrets too much 'cos that meant they couldn't have their Sunday Morning lay in!

OTL wasn't too happy 'cos he had to leave the camera at home as we had to be quick 'cos TM had a train to catch!

Mind you, our lunchtime walk was much better, the sun was out and finally OTL had got the 14-24mm lens fitted to the camera!

He tried the setting at 14mm to begin with and at f 2.8. Holly kept om asking if it was focused properly!

How's The Focus OTL?
OTL says that this sort of lend means that you have to 'Get Right Into the Subject' which means he had to get down on his knees and shove the lens right up our noses!

Is It A Mouse or OTL?
Another thing that impressed OTL was the lack of distortion, the horizon stayed flat and didn't 'Curve' like it did on the 10.5mm Fish Eye Lens!

Look! Flat Horizon and Dopey Daisy has fallen in the water!
Of course, I hadn't fallen in, I had jumped in and was enjoying a swim! There is nothing so much fun than a swim at High Tide on a Sunny Day!

OTL helped by throwing the stick in for me to swim after and bring back to him!

Just look at that Horizon and just look at me!

It looks further than it really is!
I had a great time splashing about and of course, Holly stayed at the top of the beach, well away from the water!

OTL called me to sit on the seat and so he could take another photo. This time he set the lens to 14mm and f 5.6. Then he made me sit still while he took the photo and he kept telling me I was a 'Soggy Doggy'!

Soggy Doggy? Me?
Holly, on hearing this remark, roared with laughter and kept calling me Soggy Doggy for the next hour!

Oh Priceless! A Soggy Doggy!
We passed a fisherman who was concentrating on the tip of his fishing rod to see if a fish was tugging on the other end!

I said, Have You Got Any Sarnies?
OTL was on his knees again getting all 'Up Close and Personal' with a Dandelion!

A New Dandelion!
Next, he spotted a Ladybird, the first he has seen on the Sea Wall this year and of course, see one and there is bound to see another close by!

This years First!
Look he said, here is another one but without the spots!

I got spots, orange spots!
Back home we went up to tell the ferrets all about our walk and the results from OTL's lens but they were fast asleep and all we could get out of them was 'Oh Yeah, That's Interesting, we'll have a look when we wake up'

Yeah, very interesting!
Well, OTL has just got a call from TM asking to be picked up at the station so we are off to sit by the window waiting for them to come back home.

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

The Busyest Day of The Week!

Hello Woofers!

We're here again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Today has been Busy, Busy, Busy! It started off with The Missus getting up at some silly time to go and pack all her card making stuff ready for her 'Master Class'. Holly and I stayed up in the bedroom giving Old Two Legs a cuddle before he had to get up.

We couldn't sleep with all the crashing and bashing and turning the lights on and off and TM rushing up and down the stairs!

We had been discussing the lens that OTL plans to use this morning and Holly wanted to see what the lens can do!

So.

OTL set up the camera and the flash 'cos it was still dark!

Then he said ...........SMILE!

Is this how Fishes See Me?
OTL said it would be better once we got out into the sunshine and fresh air!

The first one we tried was on Mr Brambles as he had crawled out of the Ferret Bag and onto OTL's arm!

You have focused on my butt!
Holly thought that it was funny that OTL couldn't get the camera to focus on the correct bit!

Miss Snowflake said that OTL should try taking a picture while she walked towards him and at one point the focus should be correct!

So we tried!

How is my focus?
Snowflake said that it made her nose look big and it's a good job OTL didn't take a picture of her tail!

Mr Brambles tried it and said that his head looked OK and even his butt looked trim!

Am I looking good or Wot!
It was OK but when you added some of the surrounding it all seemed to be wobbly or bendy!

I've never seen that before!
It was even worse when you looked at the horizon 'cos it looked all bent!

If you go too far you'll fall off the edge!
It was good to get back to the grass at least that didn't bend all over the place, unless the wind blew!

Mr Brambles was in Hunting Mode and said that he could sniff Mouses but Holly said that he should be careful 'cos if they got photographed with the Fish Eye Lens, they could end up looking bigger than him!

Scary Or Wot!

I sniff Mouses!
Back home we got into our breakfast, Ox Heart!

OTL spent all morning cleaning the inside of the car, just to get rid of all the rocks and dirt that seem to stick to our paws when we get back into the car after our walk!

We went for our lunchtime walk but this time we went over the fields and had a really good sniff, especially when the horses came out for their walk as well but this time none of them did a poo!

OTL said that he had to leave us while he went to pick up the caravan which had been all sorted and serviced!

It was BORING, BORING, BORING, that was until TM came back from her Master Class and we all had a big cuddle!

Tomorrow, we are going to have some fun trying out another lens 'cos let's face it, today's pictures were terrible!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.
