Holly gets wet, but so does OTL!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here!

Another glorious day full of sunshine and fun!

Last night I decided to play a joke on Old Two Legs. This time of the year he suffers from terrible hay fever and has taken to sleeping with the duvet over his face, to keep the bright sun light out of his eyes, (It gets light at three you know!) and the pollen from flying up his nose!

Well, around one thirty, Holly and I had just finished our 'Puppy Patrol' and were about to go to sleep when I got this terrible urge to give OTL's ear a lick, just to make him feel better!

You know what it is like, the urge just wouldn't go away! So, up I gets onto the bed, walked around until I was sitting on his shoulder and then I raked the duvet away off his face and gave his ear a really good lolloping lick!

After I had finished and he had stopped grumbling, I settled down to sleep.

That was until about three fifteen, it started again, that little voice in my ear that said 'Go on, do it again!'

So I did!

You know, OTL got up late this morning, seems like he didn't get his full eight hours sleep last night, dunno why not!

Down on the beach the ferrets were having fun chasing things under the sea weed. Mr Brambles said they were all sort of wet and wriggly!

It was here, just here, all wet and wriggly!
That was it, next thing both he and Miss Snowflake were charging around the sea weed, it was just like Holly and me when we are chasing the rabbits around!

They were fighting each other to get to the 'Wet & Wriggly Thing' and Mr Brambles won 'cos he was heavier!

Of course, while they were fighting each other the 'Wet & Wriggly Thing' got away!

Get out the way, I want it!
Mr Brambles moved off but Miss Snowflake was determined to find the 'Wet & Wriggly Thing' again!

It's here, I just know it's here, I can sniff it!
Holly had been watching all of this and was roaring her head off with laughter. She said that if those ferrets were any pottier she would laugh her tail off!

It's enough to make me laugh my tail off!
Back home to Doggy Scoff! We reckon that The Missus must think we have done something wrong to feed us such rubbish!

Lunchtime, the beach called us again, and as the tide was in, I enjoyed a great paddle and you know what? Holly actually paddled out a few steps as well!

How can you say this is fun? It's Wet!
Of course, I was splashing in and out of the water fetching the stick OTL had found.

Here I come!
My biggest problem was Holly. She was waiting on the beach ready to try to take the stick from me as soon as I got to the beach!

I'm waiting!
Of course, as soon as I landed there was a tussle and it wasn't until OTL took it that I could let go!

I want it, I want it, I want it!
We had a great time and I got soaked from nose to tail. Holly got her paws and tummy wet!

OTL managed another shot of the insects, there was a Six Spot Burnet and a tiny Soldier Beetle.

More Bugs!
Well, it made his day!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Poor OTL is Suffering, Again!

Hello Woofers!

Here we are, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Not so hot today but it is still muggy. Mind you, make the most of it 'cos I hear that later this week we have some rain heading our way! So while we are warm and tanned doggy's at the moment, we could end up being Wet and Soggy Doggy's by Friday!

Now, you all know that Old Two Legs suffers from Hayfever. well, one of the things that helps is the wearing of sun glasses. OTL has got some prescription glasses that have the ability to darken as the sun comes out.

Well, this is not good.

You see, if you look through these glasses the light is polarised and the sky looks great but when you take a photo it looks nothing like what you had seen through the glasses!

Yep, that happened this morning and what OTL saw were bands of light shining through the clouds but when you look at the picture, just grubby lines!

Maybe next time he will take the Polarising Filter with him!

Well, it looked good at the time!
At last we got to the beach but before we could get onto the beach we had to say 'Hello' to all the gang!

Just for once we all turned up at the same time!

There was Max & Oscar, then there was young Bryn and Bonny and Oscar, followed by Holly and Me!

A Woofer Convention!
We all had a 'Hello Sniff' and a chat about the local sniffs and what we had for breakfast.

Then when our owners went off, OTL and the ferrets headed for the beach!

After the beach we went off for a rabbit hunt while we waited for the ferrets to catch up.

OTL spotted a Common Carder Bee having a feast on the flowers, so, down he gets and manages a couple of shots before the bee gets fed up with waiting and is off to the next flower!

Come on, Hurry Up, I've got no time to wait for you!
Back home it was chicken for breakfast and then off to bed for a snooze!

OTL got going with the House Keeping in the ferret house and by the time he had finished it was time for him to head off to The Dentist!

OTL doesn't like the dentist, in fact if he could get someone else to go in his place he would!

Today it was him the dentist wanted to see and as soon as OTL sat in the seat, he got stabbed with a needle that was supposed to make his gum go numb, but the injection still hurt!

We won't bore you with the details but in the end he got thrown out, and then presented with a bill!

Poor OTL, a stabbing pain and then he had to open his wallet and empty in on the counter!

Back home, The Missus had agreed to take us out for our midday walk and I got into trouble for running after the rabbits!

I spent most of the walk on the lead! OTL would have understood and allowed me a little bit of fun!

As we got in, OTL turned up and we all said hello and rushed about!

I found the chew Holly had half eaten, she was going to bury it in the garden but decided I would find it, as if!

I took it upstairs and hid it under OTL's desk, after a little nibble!

Miss Snowflake was rattling the cage door 'cos she wanted come out for a run around, so, Holly and I headed off downstairs while Miss Snowflake set about beating up a couple of 'Cat Tease'!

Stand still while I beat you up!
After a little while she went off to investigate the chew I had pinched off of Holly. OTL spotted her pick it up and hide it behind the Rowing Machine, ready for a nibble later on!

I'll have this now!
Miss Snowflake decided that she really needed a snooze, so OTL picked her up and put her back in her bed.

Holly and I got back into the office and Holly marched up to my cushion bed and took the chew back, the waddled her tail off down stairs to finish 'Chewing the Chew'!

Well, that's it for today, we're going to try to mug OTL tonight.

Holly has suggested we go to see Mike & Sue 'cos they must have some grub they haven't used yet after their tour around the UK!

Bye bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Wot A Scorcher Today!

Hi Woofers!

We're back, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Being Sunday, Old Two Legs had an extra half an hour in bed, snoozing, that was until the noise of him sneezing woke him up!

You saw right away it was going to be hot today, the ferrets were up and rattling on their cage and calling for their breakfast!

When we got down to the beach it was packed with People and Woofers!

There was hardly and room for us and the ferrets!

Now, where are we going to sit?
We had to go almost to the end before we found a space. The ferrets had a mooch on the wet sea weed but as soon as one of the woofers started to bark, Miss Snowflake was back into the Ferret Bag like a shot!

I went up to say hello to Oscar and Bonny who were mullering  a stick they had pinched of a Bozo Labrador who was wandering off down the Sea Wall saying that it was 'Just Too Crowded'!

Holly said she was making sure no one got close to the ferrets and was catching some ray as well!

On guard!
Both of the ferrets were not very happy about the number of woofers and Miss Snowflake stayed in the bag while Mr Brambles climbed up into OTL's arms for protection!

Bonny wandered down to say 'Hello' and asked if the ferrets tasted like chicken and Oscar, who by now had been put on his lead, was sitting there shaking just like wot I do when I see a squirrel!

Does it taste like Chicken?
It was a good job that Oscar was on the lead and the ferrets were being protected by OTL!

You know, I was so worried about the ferrets that I didn't even go in for a swim!

We headed back up the path and there were a couple of Two Legs walking along the path.

They waved to OTL.

OTL waved back.

We wondered who they were?

Then they started to call our names, then we realised that it was Auntie Sheila and Major!

It was unusual to see them down there, in fact, we had never seen them there before!

We all said 'Hello' and Sheila stuck her finger in Mr Brambles face and tickled him, but he didn't see it like that, so he clamped his teeth on Sheila's finger!

There was no damage done and Mr Brambles explained that it was the first 'Yellow Card' 'cos he didn't know who Sheila was!

Lesson learnt, don't stick you finger in a ferrets face!

Back home it was a case of heading for the coolest spot you can find and snooze until lunch time!

Mind you, we all snoozed away while the F1 racing was on and even the ferrets missed the racing!

Wot Racing?
It was busy down on the beach, loads of Two Legs charging about enjoying the sun shine.

Grain Beach.
OTL was on his never ending quest for Soldier Beetles but once again, he only saw one and it refused to stand still and have his photo taken!

Can't stop, Too Busy!
Holly and I wandered along enjoying the breeze but it was just too hot, even for rabbit chasing!

Come on OTL, Back home for another snooze!
And that was it, home to a cold carrot to crunch on while OTL carried on sneezing his tail off!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

A Super Lazy Day!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here!

I don't know about you lot but it has been rather warm down here in North Kent.

In fact, it has been so hot that even on our morning stroll I was in need of a cooling swim!

Old Two Legs was throwing a stick for me to fetch and Miss Holly, who is well known for her dislike of anything wet, even had a paddle!

Mind you, it was only to try to pinch the stick that I had just swum miles to get!

I wanna the Stick!
I let her have it for a couple of seconds before OTL picked it up and threw it back out for me to fetch!

Mr Brambles thought it was great fun and at one point he was rolling on the ground laughing!

Oh! That is Sooooo Funny!
There were loads of stops on the way back but I think we were all glad to get back and into the cool shadows of the house!

Holly and I took one look at the doggy scoff and left it to stew in the bowl!

We complained to OTL and he got some chicken bits from the freezer and said that we could have cooked this evening when the temperature drops!

The ferrets said it was hot in the office so OTL got out the ice pack block thingy wotsit and wrapped it in a blanket so the ferrets can have a snooze on a cool blanket, just the way they like it!

Lunch time we were out again and this time OTL took his big camera and other photographic bits and off we went hunting Soldier Beetles again!

Well, there were no where near the number OTL wanted and they were all male as well, so no fighting over 'Breeding Rights'!

No Cameras Please!
There were some Five Spot Burnet  hanging around the flowers but again, none in a 'Good Position' for a picture of note!

See me later and I'll give you an autograph!
Then Holly came up with a brilliant idea. With all this super gear OTL had with him, why not take a 'Selfie' of us all?

So, we sat on the path so that OTL could get the focus sorted and then, using his 'Wireless Remote Shutter Release' He took a super picture.

A Macro Lens is not the best one for a 'Group Shot'!
I mean, my Granny could have done better than that!

Back home we left him to play with the Lily Blooms that had opened up in the pond.

The first White & Yellow Bloom'
Again, the Purple one with it's second bloom this year.

The leaves are much bigger this year as well!
Around four thirty, OTL was off to pick up The Missus from the village hall after her 'Crop'.

Another all day session and no cards to show for it at all!

We are going to have a snooze then we will get our chicken cooked, so, a good greasy chicken, still warm from the cooking pot, what could be better?

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Another Hot Day!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles back with you again!

This morning it wasn't so hot when we went out for our morning constitutional, a sort of 'Cloudy but still warm' if you know what I mean!

The tide had started to go out, so no swimming, but I reckon in a couple of days or so it should be deep enough for a splash!

Miss Snowflake was having fun pretending she was a 'Sniffer Dog'!

She started off by investigating the sniffs on the beach, approaching from 'Up Wind' as Holly had taught her.

She said that she could sniff a Woofer!

Mmmmmmmm, Woofer!
Then she followed the sniff along the beach until, there, sprawled all over the sand, was a Woofer!

Right says Miss Snowflake, I know what to do when I find a Woofer on the Sand!

She crept up, slowly and quietly, with no rustling the lead and at the very last moment she went ........

BOO!
Well, that scared the Tail off of Holly Dog who was relaxing and trying to catch a few rays!

Mr Brambles said that he was 'Keeping Out of Trouble' and instead tried to scramble up the sea shell cliff but as fast as he was moving his legs the faster the sea shells were falling down the cliff face!

In the end he gave up and climbed up the Rock Face saying it was 'Easier'!

This is just too much like hard work!
Back home we had Ox Heart again, super stuff! It seems that The Missus cooked too much yesterday so we got the second half today!

We're not complaining, anything is better than Doggy Scoff!

Well, while we were eating our Ox Heart, OTL sneaked out, arms full of stuff and he disappeared!

It was not the result we wanted, we wanted a run in the New Park, a swim in the Swimming Hole and a roll in something really smelly!

OTL got back about one thirty, so after a 'Hello Lick' we shoved him into the car and off to the Sea Wall again!

This time he took all his Macro stuff and a tripod, he is still looking for a good Soldier Beetle shot but today, they were all hiding!

Mind you, we met up with Oscar again and he told us that Lady is not his mates name, it is Bonny!

We had been calling her Lady for ages and she was just too polite to tell us off!

Oscar said he was getting on well with his new family and had an 'Episode' with a well matured bone under the TV Cabinet!

He said that he was getting well fed and plenty of exercise and tomorrow he was off to meet some more of the family, a Husky and a couple of Gerbils!

As Holly says 'Whatever turns you on!

Let's face it, we've got to get on with a couple of ferrets!

Now, OTL is still looking for these Soldier Beetles and he set the camera up but nothing, not a decent bug anywhere, so, not to be beaten, he took some pictures of the flowers along the path!

Depth of Field not too good, front in focus but the tip is fuzzy!
Then he found this one. It was good to see the three stages of the flower. First the bud, then the pollen-producing stamen and then the carpel that has been pollinated!

Three Stages in one shot!
Down the path a bit we saw this Snowball and next to it was a larger one but this had produced seeds and was waiting for a bit of wind to disperse the seeds.

Producing the seeds.
It was interesting seeing both stages again!

Waiting for a strong wind!
Then as there were no beetles and worse still, no rabbits, it was back home for a snooze in the shade.

If we get the sun tomorrow, there are two new lily flowers that should bloom. We'll get OTL to take a picture to show you.

Bye bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

It's another Busy Busy Day!

Hi Woofers!

We're back again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

This morning it was just great!

We got up late, had breakfast of Ox Heart and wandered down to the Sea Wall all sort of relaxed and full and behind time!

Holly and I both tried to chase some rabbits but to be honest, we were just too full up and there was no way we were going to catch them!

By the time we got to the beach, the tide was well on it's way out and Holly, saying she was just Too Hot even walked into the rock pool to cool her paws off!

Just Cooling My Paws!
Now, that was most unusual 'cos normally Miss Holly doesn't like anything to do with water!

It was really hot down there and there wasn't a single cloud in the sky!

Just to show you what it was like, here is the sky!

It Don't Get Much Bluer Than This!
As normal, the ferrets spent so much time in the grass, ferreting about, that Holly and I just collapsed into the shade of some grass to wait for them!

They do take Soooooo Loooong!
We were discussing just what there was for a ferret to take such a long time sniffing when we heard a big 'Hellooooooooooo Girlie's!'

It was Barney again!

As normal, his first stop was to have a tickle from Old Two Legs!

Hi OTL!
Then he got a bit worried 'cos he spotted the ferrets in the grass and was concerned 'cos he thought they were going to pinch his ball!

So, after a quick 'Hello & A Sniff' he was off and gone!

Both the ferrets had stopped and were crouching down trying to look like nothing interesting so Barney would leave them alone.

I'm not sure who was the most scared, them or Barney!

Like, I'm not even here!
Mind you, Miss Snowflake was still playing jokes on us 'cos at one time she suddenly stuck her head up and shouted 'Rabbits!' Which had Holly and me tearing back down the path to see!

Look! Rabbits!
This afternoon the sun had gone in and the clouds had arrived, bringing some rain as well! OTL had brought his big camera and a Macro Lens plus a tripod and a remote shutter release cord and a 'Plamp' that clips onto the tripod and holds the plant still when the wind is blowing.

He was going to photograph some Soldier Beetles, but as it was raining  he left all the gear in the car and took his small camera instead!

We spotted some beetles but the wind was so high and the plants were waving so much that we don't think he would have got a reasonable shot anyway!

Hanging On Tight!
The poor beetles were not very mobile over the thistle 'cos the wind was threatening to blow them off!

I wish I was on the Ground!
Most of the day has been spent watching OTL doing stuff in the office. Now, he hasn't delivered any of it, so, tomorrow we reckon he will be off and down the town, so we're keeping a close watch on him 'cos that could mean a stop at the New Park!

Claws Crossed!

So, bye bye for now, see you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

OTL's Still Sneezing and keeping us awake!

Hi Woofers!

It's us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

We have been a busy dog today. First there was our morning stroll and Holly spots a rabbit on the path and tries the old Creepy Creepy Tactic but  only manages to get as close as fifteen feet away before the rabbit does the 'I'm Gone' and vanishes into the bushes!

A Rabbit about to Disappear!
She does try though!

Down on the beach we had a race and just for once, I let her win!

Mind you, the way she kept on going on about winning I think next time I shall run circles around her and still come home first!

Holly Wins, Holly Wins, Holly Wins, Holly Wins, Holly Wins!
The ferrets were splashing about in the rock pools and 'Ferreting About' in the sea weed.

Mr Brambles said it was 'Just Like Scotland'!

Does this remind you of somewhere?
It could be Scotland but there are no mountains and the ground is muddier!

It's a bit muddy!
Miss Snowflake found a waste water pipe outlet and shouted 'Helloooooo' and was surprised to hear an echo!

WhooSatSayingHellooooooo?
When he heard the Helloooooo, Mr Brambles ran up the steps thinking it was a Nargle or a Monster up the pipe!

Let's get the Ferret out of here!
Back home we got chicken and biscuits and the ferrets got Kibble and a Malt Biscuit.

They also got a change of bedding, so, Mr Brambles was the first to stretch out on the cushion and have a snooze!

Lunchtime we had a look out of the window and although it wasn't raining, it did look a bit dull!

Old Two Legs was still sneezing his head off, keeping everyone awake, I mean, we didn't get our full mornings snoozing and you know what we are like if we don't get our snoozies!

The ferrets are terrible and show off good and proper if their sleep is disturbed!

OTL had a 'Result' on our midday march along the sea wall. He spotted the first soldier beetle on a thistle this year. They are normally ground dwelling but get up on top of the thistles to mate and generally have a good time!

Am I Too Early?
The tide was out, so I didn't get my swim but we did meet a new doggy!

We were on our way back when Lady came bounding over the hill and made a bee line for OTL to get her tummy tickled!

Behind her was a young Boarder Terrier who was new to us all. He stood back a bit, then came for a sniff and we returned the complement. He seemed a well behaved woofer and we allowed him a run around without telling him off!

Hello, my name is Oscar!
OTL gave him a stroke and a tickle as he passed in front of OTL but he wasn't too sure about being stroked too much!

Of course, Lady was there, tucked into OTL's legs enjoying a Tummy Tickle and also getting her ears rubbed as well!

Wot a Tart!

It seems that Oscar is about two years old and made the mistake of snapping at one of the children in his old home, so he was shipped off to the 'Rescue Centre' in Suffolk where he was seen by his present owner.

He has only been with his new home for about six days, so he is getting used to a big change!

He is allowed off the lead and comes when called, ('cos there is a treat when he does!) and he gets on very well with Lady.

After some more running and sniffing and treats he finally decided that OTL wasn't a threat or anything like that and allowed a tickle behind his ear!

I think I like OTL after all!
We will be seeing loads more of Oscar, so keep your eyes open, we could have some fun in the future!

OK, I'm off to see what OTL has for dinner, something tasty I hope!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.
