One of those Lazy Saturdays!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles back again!

Today has been a really lazy day, The Missus went off to her 'Crop' in the Village Hall leaving us to choose what to do today. Old Two Legs looked at the decorating and decided to do some 'Paperwork' instead!

Us Woofers decided that a long walk down the sea side would be a good idea!

Early this morning, after dropping TM off, we were down on the beach hunting rabbits and stuff.

OTL said it was a super sunrise but we couldn't see what he was on about but with a bit of help from Photoshop, it got all colourful!

Just wait until Autumn comes!
Holly said it was cheating but agreed that the Autumn and Winter were best for sun rises over Sheerness!

We met up with Oscar who still reckons that a ferret would taste like chicken and is busting to try a nibble of Snowflake or Brambles!

Aw' Come On, Just a Little Nibble!
Of course, OTL wouldn't allow that and he keeps a close eye on Oscar, even if he is on a lead!

Back home it was 'Clear Up Time' for the ferret cage while both ferrets went on a rampage in TM's card store room, all in and out of the shelves and the plastic boxes full of stuff!

Holly and I went back to bed on our cushions and left them to it!

Lunchtime I reminded OTL that it was time for our walk again and soon we were back down on the beach. The tide was right out, so no swimming, and on top of that, OTL wouldn't allow us to go splodging about in the mud!

We spotted a rather worn out looking Bumblebee who was still gathering nectar from the flowers but his wings looked ragged around the edges. He must have been working hard this summer!

Can't stop, Winters coming!
Just to confirm what the Bumblebee had said, we found a Fungi pushing its head up through the grass!

Nearly Autumn!
Just for a laugh, OTL took a picture of Sheerness and said it looks like a sunset.

Yeah, in yer dreams!

Sunset just starting?
Not sure what is planned for tomorrow but Holly and I fancy a long run, maybe down The Forest of even The New Park!

We'll have to see what OTL is up to tomorrow and what time he gets up!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

A Different Beach, for a Change!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here!

We were up good and early this morning, Old Two Legs had a lot to do today, so an early start was called for!

Down on the beach Holly found a patch of sand that had little hopping sand fly type of things jumping about. At first she thought that the sand had come to life and was having a dance!

Here Look! The sand is moving!
Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles had fun racing each other along the Sea Wall, sharing sniffs together. Then just as he found a particularly good sniff, she started to lick his ear and put him right off!

Now this how to share a sniff!
We couldn't hang about 'cos there was loads to do, so, back home to some Chicken and Biscuits, which made a change from Doggy Scoff!

The Missus said that Mike & Sue & Daisy were going to visit this afternoon, so we had to get everything done and out of the way before they turned up!

OTL had to go down to Herne Bay to pick up some stuff so we had a run on the beach before going to collect the stuff.

OTL found a stone that looked like it had several stones inside it including some shinny glittery stones that OTL called crystals!

Shinny Crystal Stone Thingy!
I was more interested in going for a swim, so OTL threw the rubber bone in the water for me. I went in a couple of times to get the bone but the water was getting too rough, Holly said that it was because there was an 'On Shore Wind'!

She knows all about this nautical stuff you see!

All I know was, it made the waves crash on me and the shore!

Getting a bit Rough!
Of course, you have to watch out for the big wave 'cos they try to creep up on you and there was one that did a sneaky and crept up on me good and proper!

What the ...............?
After that one OTL said it may be a good idea if I stayed out of the sea for a while, I thought that was a good idea as well!

You can keep the waves, I'll stay here and chase sea gulls!
Back home Mike & Sue & Daisy had arrived and we told them all about our adventures and Sue had brought Holly and me a carrot each and a super chew each!

Holly and I enjoyed them and had a good chew before crashing out for a snooze!

Miss Daisy was playing with the ferrets and gave them loads of strokes and even fed them with the Ferretone, especially Mr Brambles who was up for a kick about of the water bowl and Poo Pot, just for fun!

OTL still has some stuff to do but we are looking forward to some shortbread tonight that Archie Babe brought with him as a present for OTL.

We will enjoy helping him sample them tonight!

Well, it's Friday so it must be Shortbread and a Slurp!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

I nearly get a Rabbit and Miss Snowflake gets caught out!

Hi Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

We had some fun first thing this morning. Holly and I got out of the car and headed off to the Rabbit Hunting Ground, and, while we waited for Old Two Legs to arrive, we did a bit of mooching around in the long grass.

All of a sudden a rabbit made a bolt for the rabbit hole on the other side of the path, we were both after it in a flash. It headed down the path, weaving from side to side, just trying to put us off but we're too clever for that!

Ahead was OTL and the ferrets, who were both on the grass, about to have a wee. The ferrets, not OTL!

OTL spotted us and the rabbit heading his way and started to wave his arms about to warn us all that the ferrets were on the ground. Well the rabbit didn't know anything about the ferrets but did a sharp left hand turn when he saw OTL jumping up and down like a Bozo!

That was it, rabbit went left, we went straight ahead, rabbit got away and ferrets escaped being run over, just!

Down on the beach Mr Brambles decided to have a game with Miss Snowflake. However she had managed to sneak back into the bag again!

Didn't see me get in did you?
Mr Brambles went off to find that plastic cup and of course, stuck his head inside and started to shout that the sun had gone!

Hey! Where's the Sun gone?
He knew he would get Miss Snowflake out of the bag to help him and in no time, there she was giving him instructions!

Hold Still! I'll get OTL to help!
When he got out he told Snowflake that you could hear the waves crashing on the shore when you stick your head in the cup. As the tide was well out, Miss Snowflake said she would try it providing Mr Brambles would stayed with her to help if she got stuck in the cup!

Yes, I can hear the sea!
Mr Brambles caught a sniff and was off, leaving Snowflake there, calling out for Brambles to take the cup  off her head.

Hello? Hello? Can you hear me or have I lost my voice?
OTL came to the rescue and soon had the cup off her head and when she found out that Mr Brambles was half way down the beach, she chased after him and told him off for leaving her!

Not that he took any notice!

We looked out to sea and OTL noticed a sort of mound in the sand with what looks like a river or stream running around it. Holly, who watches 'Time Team' says it is a Medieval Hill Fort with a moat around the outside and the whole lot had sunk into the mud.

Medieval Hill Fort, on the marshes?
OTL said that if we wanted, we had three days to sort it out!

Yeah! On yer bike OTL!

Back home we had Doggy Scoff waiting for us, YUK!

Lunch time arrived and we set off again but when we got down to the car park it had started to rain, then it got very dark and there was lightening and then thunder.

We all stayed in the car, waiting for the rain to pass.

Very Wet!
The rain came down, and then it came down some more and it got wetter and wetter!

Holly and I were up at the windscreen watching it pour down and we kept asking OTL.

Is it going to finish soon?
After a while, it went across the Thames and into Essex where Holly said that they would appreciate a bit of rain!

As we watched it go it seemed to completely cover Southend on Sea and Holly said it might be enough to wash Southend into the Sea!

Bye bye rain!
That was the last we saw of the rain and off we went for our walk along the Sea Wall.

Holly and I are making plans to give OTL a serious mugging tonight and try to get out of having to eat Doggy Scoff!

Mind you, if he gets Ham Salad then we're out of luck and he's on his own!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

It's Rabbiting Season!

Hello Woofer Mates!

It's us again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Holly got up this morning and decided that the 'Rabbit Hunting Season' was 'Open'!

I wasn't sure about what she means by 'Open' but it sounded like fun, so I didn't argue!

We got to the car park and I could see a couple of rabbits dancing around on the grass in front of the bushes.

There I was, up at the windscreen doing my 'Grumbly Grumble' that I do before setting off after a rabbit. Holly was doing her excited 'Let Me Out' woof to Old Two Legs that she normally does before he lets us out of the car.

Both ferrets were rattling the cage door to get out, you know, it was getting very 'Busy'!

Finally, OTL opened the back door and out we flew, rushed through the bushes and after the rabbits!

They had gone!

I blame the Ferrets for making too much noise!
It was a super walk today, the temperature was down to a very pleasant level which means we could have a run about without getting too hot!

Down on the beach Miss Snowflake had a quick wee and climbed back into the bag while Mr Brambles set off to explore the beach.

The sea had piled up the sea shells into a cliff face and he had trouble climbing up to the top.

It's a bit of a climb today!
When he arrived at the Rock Wall, he found one of those plastic cup the Two Legs leave on the beach instead of putting them in the rubbish bin.

So, Mr Brambles, being Mr Brambles, just had to have a look and inspect it!

In he went, sniffing and snuffling, as ferrets do.

Then we heard............'Help! I've gone Blind!'

I can't see a thing!
Soppy Ferret!

OTL had to pull the cup off his head!

Back home we all settled down to some breakfast and followed it up with a well deserved snooze.

Holly was dreaming of rabbits, I know that 'cos she was woofing in her sleep doing her 'Rabbit Chasing' woof!

Around eleven thirty, I got fed up with snoozing or woofing at the passers by, so I gave OTL's chair back a good shove with my front paws.

It's our secret sign, well mine actually, and it means, 'I want..............'!

OTL knew what the blank spot was.....'Walkies'!

I had this feeling the tide should be in by now and I just fancied a swim!

When we got down to the Sea Wall, the tide was about an hour away from being 'Swim-able'

Of course, Miss Know It All said that we were just too early and kept asking where the water was!

Come on then, where's the water?
She can be right annoying when she does that!

So, no swimming or splashing about, so let's go hunting some rabbit!

Well, we hunted and hunted and hunted, of course Little Miss Know It All Silly Knickers kept asking...

Come on then, where's the rabbits?
I was not a 'Happy Puppy'!

It's not my fault, honest!
Back home I headed for OTL's desk and collapsed into my cushion and had a snooze where I dreamt I had gone swimming and chased rabbits all over the place and Silly Knickers Holly had got left in the car where she couldn't scare off the rabbits!

You can't win them all, as OTL said, still, once in a while would be nice!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Two Legged Bozo's and We Go Rabbit Hunting!

Yo Ho Woofers!

We're back with you again, Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles!

We were all out good and early this morning, Old Two Legs said that it was a little 'Chilly' and said it seemed like the first sign of Autumn!

Holly, who knows about these things said it was just a Low Pressure traversing over South East England and would soon pass!

That told him!

We met up with Bryn and the Gang and he was complaining that he wasn't let out of his owners sight this morning, that'll teach him to go chasing sniffs on his own!

We got down to the beach and OTL was getting the ferrets out of the Ferret Bag and onto the sand. There were three Two Legs on the bench having a rest after doing their morning cycling up and down the Sea Wall.

One of the Two Legs said that OTL aught to put the ferrets down the rabbit holes to kill off the rabbits 'cos there were too many of them and they were eating all the crops!

What a Bozo! As OTL pointed out, the crops grown around here were Grain and Rape and even that was a couple of miles down the road! He said that they 'Enhanced' the area and were a treat to see!

They also provided the fox population with a source of food as well!

Plus of course, a great game of 'Chase The Rabbit' for us Woofers!

We do meet some real Bozo's on our walk!
Miss Snowflake did point out that the Working Ferrets' job is to chase the rabbits out of the holes so the Two Legs can do the 'dispatching' and she should know 'cos she was a 'Working Ferret', before she arrived in our back garden and decided to become a 'Retired Ferret'!

All this talk of working has made me tired, can I get back in the bag?
We headed back towards the car and Holly and I ran ahead 'cos I wanted to see if the rabbit I nearly caught yesterday was still around and did he want to come out to play?

Well, we hunted about all over the place, in and out of the bushes and down the path a bit but they must have gone back home for their breakfast 'cos we couldn't find any of them at all!

Holly and the ferrets got back in the car but I thought I'd hang about, just in case one popped his head out and wanted to play 'Chase'.

Me, waiting for a Rabbit!
In the end, it was only OTL who popped his head around the bush and told me to 'Get in the Car!'

Never mind, there is always lunch time!

But Lunchtime was different today. We headed off for some deliveries and of course, The Forest!

The notice on the gate said that the Heeland Coo's were in our part of the forest, so Holly and I kept a look out for them!

I Spy Heeland Coo!
We got past them with no trouble and OTL says that they were brought in to eat all the bracken in the forest and generally tidy it all up!

Did the Coo's do All This?
OTL explained that the forestry people had been in with a big mowing machine and cut down loads of the brambles and stuff like that. So, we're not seeing these wide open spaces because the Coo's were hungry!

OTL spotted this in the undergrowth and said that he hadn't seen any other place where this was growing. It's called 'Cuckoopint' and while it's not dangerous, it doesn't taste very nice!

OTL reckons someone planted that in the forest 'cos it's 'Not Natural'

Cuckoopint
We had a great time hunting squirrels, didn't see one at all! As we got closer to the car park Holly said she had spotted a squirrel on the path, being walked by a couple of Two Legs!

Wot?

You Going Potty Girl?

When we got closer we saw it was a little four month old puppy! It was so very polite and even asked Holly not to eat her!

Please Don't eat me Miss!
Back home for some Lambs Heart and a snooze before this evening fun and games. OTL says that he might let the ferrets out for a run around, providing they wake up of course!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

A Monday Morning Rescue!

Hi Woofers!

Us again! Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

On our way to the Sea Wall this morning, Old Two Legs pulled the car off the road and jumped out with his camera saying 'Just Look at That'!

Look at wot? Just a few clouds, no birds, woofers or coo's, just what had he seen?

Cumulonimbus incus
Wot? It seems that this 'Cumulonimbus incus' or Anvil Cloud could turn into some serious rain or stormy weather!

It's a good job it was passing us by!

Back to more interesting things!

We've had a little excitement this morning and it was 'Ferrets to The Rescue'!

We were out on our normal walk and came across Max & Oscar and their owner plus Bryn's owner, but no Bryn. We think he was investigating a sniff back down the path.

Well, the ferrets got a stroke from Bryn's owner and off we went again, heading for the beach. After a little while, who should come up behind us, Bryn!

We all said hello and had a sniff and the ferrets said hello as well 'cos they had met Bryn before and rate him as 'Friend but Watch Out'!

Bryn's owner was calling him and off he trotted ahead of us, looking for a path back to his owner. OTL was looking after the ferrets 'cos they had just got down for a wee before getting to the beach.

When we looked up, Bryn had disappeared and we thought, heading off to see Max & Oscar!

On our way back from the beach, we could hear Bryn's name being called and thought he had either found some serious sniffs or was chasing rabbits, both things can turn a doggy deaf you know!

We headed back towards the car and the ferrets were sniffing both sides of the path. Suddenly they stopped and did their 'Wassat?' pose which means there is something around that could hunt ferrets!

Just then, Bryn jumped out of the bushes and said 'Hello Girls, Have I found a Sniff to Die For'!

We all had a chat and decided to go back to the car and drive around to Bryn's house, but, before we could do that we saw Bryn's master walking along the Sea Wall and OTL called over to him. So, Bryn was back with his family again and the ferrets said it was a good job they had spotted Bryn in the bushes or he could have missed his breakfast, and that would be terrible!

A Gold Star for The Ferrets!

Lunch time we were out again and down the beach. You know I love the summer, so much swimming time!

Holly still won't come in for a splash about, instead, she sits on the beach catching the rays and claiming she is a 'Life Guard'!

She says that if anyone gets in trouble, she will borrow OTL's phone and call the Coast Guards!

Keep Paddling, I can't find the phone!
It's a good job OTL doesn't throw the bone out too far. It is not so far that if there was any trouble, he could come in and rescue me!

I got fed up with waiting to be rescued, so I've swum back instead!
On the way back to the car I went ahead and around the corner and almost fell over a rabbit! Well, I gave my 'War Cry' and chased it all over the place but by the time Holly had got here to help me, the rabbit had gone to ground! Curses! Next time I'll get it!

It was the same for OTL, he reckons he saw a Weasel run across the path but it was so quick he didn't have time to get a picture!

Curses! Next time he'll get it!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

A Day with Archie Babe and Bertha's Backside!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here!

What a day we've had, rain, sniffs Archie, more sniffs!

It started off with taking The Missus up to the village hall with all her stuff ready for her Master Class, then off to the Sea Wall for a walk with the ferrets before Archie Babe arrives!

Archie will like this sniff!
Holly and the ferrets were busy sorting the sniffs out while I looked for any new ones that had appeared overnight!

That's a new one!
Towards the end of the walk it started to rain and Old Two Legs said it was the last bit of Hurricane Bertha and as Holly said, if that was the last bit, it must be her backside!

The ferrets said that they wanted to get into the dry and have a snooze, so OTL sorted them out and we were back in the car again!

We went back to the village hall and pretty soon Archie arrived! That was it, a quick 'Hello and Goodbye' and we were all off back down to the beach again!

We introduced Archie Babe to all the sniffs we had set aside and he reckons that there were some seriously special sniffs that he doesn't get at his home.

Wow! This is Good Girls!
We then took him down to the beach which he said he had never seen before! He was sniffin' an sniffin' again at the sea weed sniff. He had never sniffed it before and was getting excited!

Oh Wow! Just look at all that water and the Sniff is better than I imagined!
We went down on the beach and showed him the sea weed and the water and the mud and told him about the Wet Smelly Thing the ferrets are hunting!

Can I eat this?
Once we had finished on the beach Archie asked if we could play 'Puppy Patrol' up the hill!

It's a triple 'Puppy Patrol'!
We headed back home just in time 'cos the rain started again as soon as we had got back to the car!

Back home we had a bite to eat, well, Archie got his nose stuck in our 'Day Biscuits' which we like to nibble sometimes. He woofed down loads and finished off with a teeth cleaning chew!

We all had a snooze and I even let Archie cuddle up with OTL on his favourite chair!

Back down the beach it was just right for a swim, I chased after the Red Bone and Archie said that he Doesn't Do Swimming!

No, This is as far as I want to go thanks!
Further along the beach the tide was well into retreat so we all enjoyed some 'Beach Sniffing'.

Archie was looking for the 'Wet Smelly Thing' but we suggested that instead, he should have a roll in the mud 'cos his own Two Legs would be very impressed with a coat of mud!

Go on, have a roll!

Archie, being a Sneaky Puppy, went off to OTL and asked if he could have a roll?

No, you can't roll in the mud!
Having his Mud Roll stopped, Archie went off in search of frogs and other things. He found some small shrimps in the pools and some wriggly things under the weed!

Got any frogs here?
Then something caught Archie's eye, it was a sea gull plonking around in the mud looking for some food. Archie said that he doesn't get many real sea gulls where he lives and was speculating on whether or not it tasted like chicken!

I wonder?
Heading back to the car Archie was saying that he wished he had a beach where he lived, he would spend all day sniffing along the shore!

I wish I had a beach!
Back home, Archie did some investigating of our garden, he said that it had some brilliant sniffs and a good few holes to investigate!

This is great!
Then we suggested he have a drink from the pond which we reckon tastes better that the stuff that comes out of the tap!

He stood on the rock and then put his paws in the water and Holly reckoned that just one more inch further in and he would be swimming!

Just One More Inch!
Pretty soon Archie had to leave us and head off home. He said that he had enjoyed his visit and if we didn't mind, he would just love to come down and visit again and spend some more time on the beach!

We waved him Bye Bye and went in search of our dinner, Ox Heart, Yum Yum!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.
