Snakes in the Grass!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles back again!

Well, what an exciting day, sort off!

It started this morning very early, Holly could hear something out side the house, so, being on 'Puppy Patrol' she did her 'Keep Quiet and move on' woof, which lasted a long time, long enough to wake The Missus up.

TM, being a friendly sort, especially at three in the morning, joined if the woofing as well!

Then she proceeded to bounce about on the bed claiming she couldn't get back to sleep and because of that, she made sure everyone else was awake to join her in not getting back to sleep again!

That of course didn't make Old Two Legs happy and he got up a little earlier than normal, which in turn means the ferrets were woken up earlier than normal!

So, that means TM managed to wake everyone up and of course she blamed everyone except herself!

Down on the beach we had a fun time digging holes and chasing each other.

Miss Snowflake had trouble getting out of the ferret bag 'cos she really wanted to catch up on her sleep!

Just a Five Minute Snooze, Please!
On the way back we came across Mr Bailey who was having a 'Mid Walk Rest'. He is getting on a bit and is a bit slow. That of course is an open invitation for Brambles to have a little joke!

He and Snowflake were dancing along the path and just before they got to Bailey, Brambles rolled onto his back and called out that he would wrestle any one within six feet!

Then he fell on his back and kicked his legs up and called out 'Come on, Who's next?'

Come on, who's next?
Back home we had a great Lambs Heart breakfast followed by a super snooze. OTL was getting on with his work until lunchtime arrived!

Today OTL decided that he would try his Macro Lens as the insects were about, so off we set and pretty soon landed in the car park.

We got out and a our mate Mercedes, the Bozo Labrador who thinks OTL is wonderful, seemed to have left his TL on the grass. Even OTL was a little puzzled and asked what he was doing.

'I've just let loose a snake that I found in the garden' he replied and offered to show OTL where it was. It seems that the snake was caught by a cat and was a little shaken by the experience.

When we got to the spot, the snake had crawled off into the undergrowth. Before he let the snake go, the TL had taken some pictures and he kindly sent them to OTL.

We picked the best and after a little fiddling OTL came up with this.

Thanks, I'm off now!
We didn't see any snakes so OTL had to put up with the insects on the flowers! First of all we spotted the Soldier Beetles!

Smile for the Camera!
Next OTL found a Dragonfly having a rest on a plant and crept up to take this shot.

Just having a rest.
Then, a Flesh Fly landed on a flower and started drinking the nectar.

Holly said that it was the first time she had seen a Vegetarian Flesh Fly!

Really, I don't like meat!
It was rather warm and Holly decided that she would take every opportunity to have a rest in the shade!

This is a cool spot!
We found this flower that had three insects having lunch together, a Soldier Beetle, a Flesh Fly and a Bee or Wasp, we can't make up our mind and OTL can't find it in his 'Insect Book'!

Three for Lunch!
Back home it was back to snoozing until OTL finished his work.

He is out early tomorrow and TM will have to take us out for our morning walk. Mind you, she says that she will not be able to take the ferrets out, just us. So, after we come back she has said that she will let the ferrets out for a rampage!

Now that will be fun!

So, we're off to do some mugging, see you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles

Monsters in The Forrest!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles back with you again!

It has been a muggy sort of day today, the sort of day that is just right for snoozing under the tree in the garden, after a big bowl of chicken!

Well, that's what we did after we got back from our morning walk!

Brambles got out of the cage before Miss Snowflake was even awake! That means he gets first slurp of the Ferretone!

The Early Morning Slurp!
When we got to the Car Park I saw a rabbit having some breakfast grass, that was it, straight out the back and we raced across the grass to find the Sneaky Bunny had legged it!

I Hate it when they do that!
Around the corner we met up with a couple of woofers and because they were on leads, Holly played The Tart and danced about, just out of reach!

Holly, playing The Tart!
We had some fun on the beach and then headed back to the car. Holly and I had to wait at the top of the grass path while the ferrets were messing about diving in and out of the grass!

What's it going to be like when there is four of them?
Holly and I found a sniff and Mr Bro Brambles just couldn't keep his nose out of it! Holly said it was an old sniff but Brambles till wanted to have a share of it!

I don't care if it's old Sis!
Then he did a quick flip and rolled onto his back and wriggled around all over the sniff!

I mean, it's just not fair, Old Two Legs would have stopped Holly or me if we did that!

This is how you do it!
Back home there was chicken waiting for us and with OTL busy working we had a good snooze until lunch time when we headed off to the carriers.

Before we left OTL spotted a Red Admiral Butterfly on the Buddleia, so, out he gets and takes a couple of shots.

Red Admiral on the Buddleia!
After the carriers, OTL asked where we fancied going, 'The Forrest'! we woofed and off we went!

When we got there we spotted a notice that had been nailed to a fence post.

Shorthorn Coo?
Now, we had never seen a Shorthorn before, Longhorn and Highland but not Shorthorn!

So, being 'Careful Woofers', we kept a watch out for these new Coo's!

Wassat a Coo?
At first, every noise we heard we thought might be a Shorthorn Coo and of course we would stop very still and listen and look, very hard!

No Coo Sniffs here!
In the end we didn't see a Coo or even come across Coo Poo!

Holly reckons that they must have been down the other end of the forest and was munching on fresh grass!

I said that was OK by me, I don't do Coos!

Back home for another snooze before getting ready to mug OTL again!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Someone Nicked The Water!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles back with you!

It been a super sunny day today, this morning was great, we saw Bailey the old Long Haired Labrador who says he is 'Over One Hundred'!

He reckons it is too warm for him especially with all his hair and he said he wished he could go in for a swim but didn't think he was fit enough to go splashing about like he used to!

We did our 'Rabbit Hunt' first thing but the rabbits were heading back to the burrows for an after breakfast snooze.

This is no good, they've gone!
Down on the beach Miss Snowflake was having trouble working out why her rock had shrunk!

Brambles says I've been wee'ing on it too much!
What Brambles didn't tell her was that he had thrown sand all over her rock so it couldn't be seen properly!

Let's see her find it now!
Feeling somewhat cheated of a good wee, Snowflake came over to help me dig a hole in the sand.

Mind you, she can't shift as much as I can but in the end I had to let her have a go!

Come on, it's my turn now!
Needless to say, once she got in the hole, she wouldn't let me back in again! I left her to it and wandered off down the beach.

Bro Brambles came up and said that Snowflake wouldn't let him, I told him about I was kicked out as well!

She won't let me in either!
I decided to play a trick on Old Two Legs. First I made him stand still and close his eyes, then I walked up the beach and told him to get ready with the camera.

Then I ran down the beach and jumped up and woofed 'NOW'!

Daisy jumping over OTL!
Up the grass path Snowflake and I were having a ferret around when something moved in the grass. We didn't see what it was and because OTL had Snowflake on a lead and she was in the way!

Well I reckon it's a snake with legs on!
Brambles decided not to bother chasing anything as it was too warm for running about! So, while Snowflake and I were investigating, Brambles did what he does best, he just rolled onto his side to catch a few more rays!

Wake me up when your finished!
We didn't find any snakes or mouses or lizards, so we headed back to the car and home for a bowl of Doggy Scoff!

OTL went back to manufacturing while us Woofers stood guard by the food cupboard, just in case something fell out while OTL wasn't looking!

Mind you, we got plans for OTL's dinner tonight!

We had to go out walking at lunchtime with The Missus as OTL was out working.

When we got down to the Sea Wall I ran straight down the beach to the water.

Only problem was.....................No Water!

I mean, nothing, not even a puddle to roll in!

I stood there looking to the left and then to the right and then out to the horizon but there was nothing!¬

I was not a Happy Puppy!

Holly didn't care 'cos she 'Doesn't Do Water'...................But I Do!

Well, you can't win them all!

Maybe tomorrow!

See you!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Cloudy Monday!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here!

What a change in the weather, this morning was a little damp but not too wet.

We went out this morning with the ferrets and Old Two Legs and while everyone charging about Miss Snowflake found some old clothing that a TL had left in the rock pool.

Come on, a few washes in that machine and it'll be OK for OTL!
After some discussion with OTL it was decided to leave it there and see if the sea would wash it first!

Along came that Bozo who we always bark at but he never acknowledges us 'cos he is in love with his ball.

However, today he came along and spotted the ferrets. ' What are they?' He said, then he dropped his ball! 'Well, look at the Long Wheel Base Rats!'

That was just too much for Holly. 'Hey Bozo!' says Holly, 'You're talking about my Bro and Sis, watch it or I'll take your ball and shove it up your tail!'

Rats?
That was it, Bozo dropped his ball and it rolled off the wall and landed at OTL's feet!

OTL picked it up and threw it along the Sea Wall. Bozo Woofer forgot about the ferrets and off he went!

Clever or wot!

Of course, Brambles just had to open his mouth!

'Hey Sis!' he calls out 'Thanks for looking after your Bro & Sis!'

All Holly said was ..................'Shut Up!'

We headed back for home and Brambles was calling out to Holly......'Who do you love the best, me or her Sis?'

Holly would only say...............................'Shut Up!'

Brambles said he felt a tickling under his tail and asked me if I could see anything crawling around his tail. I had a look but there was nothing there.

No, can't see anything there!
Snowflake came up and gave me a kiss saying that I was very brave getting that close to his Butt!

If you want I'll clear ears out as well!
Back home there was Lambs Heart waiting for us and our snooze beds were calling as well!

Lunchtime OTL was clicking away at the Soldier Beetles on the flowers, you know, they only come up to the flowers to mate but spend the rest of the year on the ground!

I'm getting tired of all this!
After the walk we headed off to do some deliveries and Holly and I had fun sticking our head out of the window and blowing raspberries at all the other cars, especially when we're waiting at the traffic lights!

So, no swimming today so I stayed as dry as Archie Babe and Sis Holly!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Soggy Sunday!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here again.

We were out this morning and just for a change, it was raining!

Not buckets of rain but enough to make us all wet, even Old Two Legs!

We didn't hang about too much but by the time we got back to the car we in need of a good rub down with our towel!

It didn't help that the ferrets were chasing along behind us and Bro Brambles kept telling Holly to 'Gets a Move On Sis!'

Holly was not happy about that but decided to leave it 'cos she wanted to get back to the car and get dry!

They're behind us again aren't they?
Lunchtime we were out in the sun shine and of course, I was in swimming. Holly called out, from well up the beach, 'Hey Look at That!'

That's what we should do to you!
There, having a little splash about was this woofer who was being kept on a lead, a short lead and there, behind him was the TL up to his knees in the water!

I just don't believe it!
We had a good laugh about it and I did some more swimming before heading back home so OTL could get his jobs done before The Missus comes back from her 'Glue Slapping'!

So, soggy start and a soggy finish, what could be better?

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here.

A Hot Day Today!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here.

Phew! It has been warn down here in North Kent, started this morning when Old Two Legs was complaining about it being warm enough to fry your brain!

I think his brain got a bit frazzled 'cos he forgot to put the memory card in the camera and spent some time trying to work out why the camera wouldn't work!

We on the other paw, we put it down to his age!

That can further be proved by the fact that at lunchtime we went off for our walk and he grabbed the camera but when we go to the beach he found he had got the Infrared Camera that had been left set up on Black & White!

You know, if we didn't know better, we say he was going La-La!

Let's face it, who would take a picture of a Poo Bin?

The Grain Poo Bin!
OTL isn't the only one it seems, this Two Legs had cast out the worm but was sitting right up the top of the beach!

Where is the sea?
I headed straight for the sea while OTL sorted out a stick for us to play 'Fetch' with!

Now, because the tide wasn't fully in, that means that it was still shallow enough for me to get a lick on before my paws came off the sea bed!

Look at Me! Zooming like a Bozo Woofer!
Holly could not be tempted to even wet her paws, she was staying well up the beach and on the dry warm pebbles!

Just What is She Like?
We had a great time, me swimming and Holly sun bathing and OTL getting wet from me shaking water all over him!

We stopped off at the bench and I rested on top trying to get a bit drier!

A Damp and Soggy Doggy!
Holly stayed on the ground, in the shade, and laughed at me for being all wet and soggy!

I may be warm but I'm dry!
Back home we had a snooze until OTL had to go and collect The Missus from the village hall after her crop.

Tonight OTL is going to have a Kofti Kebab, so we are looking for some good muggings tonight!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here.

Brambles Birthday Today!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here.

Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday Bro Brambles,
Happy Birthday to You!

Brambles is around 6-7 years old this year and he came to live with us two years ago today!

So, we decided that the 17th July is his birthday!

He got loads of treats, his Malt Paste Ferret Bits of which he made a bit of a pig of himself!

Then he got to have first dip into the Doggy Biscuits, which he just loves!

And of course, he got first licks of the Ferretone and a cuddle with Old Two Legs!

I Love Cuddles!
Then he gets and extra 'Birthday' slurp of Ferretone, after which he rolls onto his back and stretches out on OTL's lap and licks his chops while OTL tickles his tummy!

Oh! This is Fun!
Down on the beach, the lads all stopped and sang 'Happy Birthday' to Brambles!

'Happy Birthday Toooooooo Yoooooo!'
On the beach we thought we had come across a Big Monster, so Holly and I went off to woof it away from the ferrets.

Snowflake stayed behind her favourite rock and watched us do 'The Business'!

Just look at those Brave Woofers!
As we got closer to The Monster we saw it was three balloons tied together and the wind was blowing the balloons along the beach towards us!

Well, it looked like a Monster!
Bro Brambles said we were 'Brave Woofers' for going off to sort out the 'Monster', even if they were nothing but gas!

Bramble found his rock that Holly tried to bury yesterday and he had fun digging out again!

Up you come my beauty!
Now, we had sort of arranged for a 'Meeting' between Brambles, Snowflake and Miss April and Miss May.

We were about to set off when we got a phone call to say that April and May had come into season and a meeting would not be a 'True' meeting.

OTL said that if we put Brambles in the cage with them he would get the best Birthday Present ever! Miss Snowflake would possibly get the brush off!

So, after talking for a while it was agreed that the ferrets would be sent off to the vet to be 'Done', like wot Snowflake and Holly and I have been!

It will stop any problems in the future!

So, into the vets next week and then a two or three week recovery period and then it will be visiting time, around mid August!

OTL has ordered up the bits to put another level onto Snowy Heights to make it into a three level tower!

The top floor will be a sort of 'Games Room' and a 'Bolt Hole' for any ferret who wants some peace and quiet!

So, that's it for now, The Missus is out all weekend doing crops and Master Classes and we will have fun with OTL!

See you all tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

New Ferrets got names!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles back again!

Well, we have been busy little woofers today, rushing about helping Old Two Legs do his 'Manufacturing' and then out to deliver it all!

We started off on the beach having some fun with sniffs.

The ferrets had wandered up the beach and were investigating some dried sea weed which Brambles loves to rub on his tummy and help tone up his skin.

Holly and I began by sniffing the wet sea weed and around the rock pools. Holly says she found traces of 'Slimy Monsters' and I found traces of ferret poo!

Well it sniffs like ferret poo to me!
Holly wanted to play a trick on Bro Brambles 'cos he makes her call him Bro!'

Holly started off by pretending to 'Guard' Brambles Wee'ing Rocks. Then, after Brambles had gone after the dry sea weed she came up with a rather naughty trick!

Yep! I'll guard your rocks Bro!
Then, while Bro Brambles was busy, Holly says to me, 'OK, dig a big hole next to the rock'

Holly's idea was to bury the rock so that Brambles would think that a 'Slimy Monster' had pinched it!

OK, dig it deep while he's not looking!
Brambles was keeping his eye on Holly and wasn't fooled by her trick!

Back home we had a message from the Ferret Rescue Centre to say we should bring Brambles and Snowflake down to meet the new ferrets on Friday, so OTL has to make arrangements on Friday morning.

We also have found out their names and ages.

They are two years old and are called Miss April and Miss May!

Now, I don't know about you but OTL says that Miss April and Miss May sounds like a couple of Page Three Pullouts!

We, of course, have no idea what he is talking about but we are all getting excited about meeting them for the first time!

So, more news tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.

Oh Dear! It's St Swithins Day!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles here!

Now, did you know it is St Swithins Day today?

Well, you do now!

So the 'Lore' goes, if it rains on St Swithins Day then you will get rain for forty days and forty nights!

We are OK, it didn't rain at all down here but we are sure that there were some showers splashing about the UK today!

If you got rained on then I'd get out your brolly and don't put it down until the end of August!

We were lucky, no rain!

Old Two Legs over slept this morning, so that means we were all late in getting to the beach for our morning stroll.

Even the ferrets were asleep again by the time we got down there!

Are we there yet?
The tide was out so there was no swimming this morning but we did spot a Goats Beard in flower, the only one around, OTL reckons it could be the last one on our beach!

The last flower this year?
We were all a bit slow except Holly Dog who was calling out ' Come on Bro, get you Butt in Gear'

Yeah, I said Bro!
Brambles was dead chuffed she called him Bro, but wasn't too happy about her talking about his butt!

Back home to some snoozing and around lunchtime OTL called us to go out again. First it was delivering, then it was down to the school to do some adjustments on the radios and the off to the beach for a swim!

The tide was right is and of course I was in and swimming before those two had even got to the beach!

I Just LOVE a Cool Swim!
It was just super splashing about and fetching a small stick. Holly stayed on the Sea Wall and refused to come down to the water.

She said that St Swithins applied to getting wet from swimming as well as being rained on!

Dopey Dog will be wet for forty days now!
I think she made that up and anyway, the sun was drying me off a treat!

Who's wet? Not Me!
While we were out, OTL got a telephone call from our burglar alarm system saying that there was a fire at our house.

He called back to The Missus to check everything was OK and asked her if she was doing any cooking?

TM confirmed that there was no fire and warned him of Impending Doom if he made any more comments about her cooking!

That's telling him!

I'm off to see if there is anything we can mug!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake and Mr Brambles.
