Getting ready for the Holiday!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Mr Brambles, Miss April and Miss May here again!

Things are warming up here. The Missus has been out in the caravan getting rid of the spider webs and making everything clean.

Old Two Legs has been making a list of camera stuff he will be taking away with us. He can't take everything 'cos there are double the ferrets and with two cages, double the accommodation!

Down on the beach this morning OTL tried a photo he doesn't do very often, HDR (High-Dynamic-Range)

It's all very computer based and has been described as 'Marmite Photos'! (You either Love it or Hate it!) 

Holly and I aren't too sure if we like it or not, mind you, we do like a bit of toast with a smear of Marmite so does that count?

Coming into Harbour

 Snowflake was climbing the rocks as the ship came in and it was big enough for her to comment!

Now that's a Big One!

Back home we were sorting out the bedding for the ferrets and then making sure our Rain Coats were washed and OTL was going through his lenses trying to decide which ones to take!

Snowflake was helping OTL with the camera gear and she decided he should take the big lens and the Fisheye lens, just in case we see any Aurora Borealis!

Holly was more interested in the list of food that was being ordered for our trip. Things like Chicken Fillets, Teeth Cleaning Chews and stuff like that rates high on Holly's list of 'Important' things!

Lunchtime it was still cloudy and there was a chilly wind blowing in from the North. Miss May enjoyed a long walk almost all the way around the Sea Wall while Miss April cuddled up in OTL's arms and watched the world go by until we got to the beach and she had to run all the way back!

May was full of fun and even tried to sneak up on Holly Dog but Holly is too smart to be caught like that!

While May was after Holly, Miss April was having fun digging holes all along the beach!

A Hole lot of Fun!

Back home to the lists and finding the ferret bedding and our cushions for the car. If there is too much on the list then we want to know where we will be sitting in the car!

OTL says that he will find somewhere for us, maybe on the roof!

Yeah! In his dreams!

New Kid on the Block!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Mr Brambles, Miss April and Miss May here!

We have been introduced today to a new woofer!

Not in our house but rather out on the Sea Wall. You see we met up with Max and Oscar and Bryn and Bailey and there, scampering about, was a little ball of fluff!

Holly spotted her first and went over for a sniff.

'Hmmmm!' says Holly 'You know, we've got ferrets bigger than you!

And what is your name little Miss?

It turns out that this is Boo and she is an Imperial Shih Tzu and she is so young she doesn't know her name yet!

Now, we know there are some small dogs around but we've never seen one this small!

And you all know that these are called 'Lion Dogs' so we just can't wait until she finds her voice and roars at us all!

Hello Boo!

After saying 'Hello' to everyone, Holly and I had a game of 'Chase' amongst the rock wall where the ferrets were playing. We stayed well away from them 'cos we didn't want to tread on them, well, they make such a noise when we tread on them and they have a habit of giving us a nip as well!

Tip Toe through the Ferrets!

We had chicken when we got home and spent time snoozing on the bed while Old Two Legs was busy 'Manufacturing'.

Lunchtime, we took May and April with us down to the beach and told them all about young Boo and how she was a Lion Dog and they should watch out 'cos Lion Dogs are fierce and have big pointy teeth!

What does a Lion sniff like?

 They hunted around for ages looking for Lion Dog sniffs but only got the normal sea side sniffs!

Not a Lion sniff to be had!

 On our way back to the car OTL spotted a sailing ship heading up stream towards London. He said it was a 'Three Master' but it was a long way away and we couldn't see any real detail. OTL took this picture but the lens was too small to show any markings.

Well, we see three masts!

When we got back home OTL looked on the Marine Traffic Web Site and found out that the ship is called 'Tenacious' and she is a 586 ton sailing ship out of Southampton and she was built in 2000 and she sails under the United Kingdom flag!

The web site shows ships position all over the world but OTL uses it to monitor what is off our own bit of shore! Have a look at http://www.marinetraffic.com

It's so exciting watching all the coming and going along the Thames and Medway!

It's Shrewsday, according to Mr Brambles!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Mr Brambles, Miss April and Miss May here with some more news!

We woke up this morning before sunrise, opened one eye and then went back to sleep again! Well, it's Sunday and everyone has a lay in on Sunday.

Except possibly the Page Three Girls who haven't worked out that the days have names, as far as they are concerned, it's light or it's dark and it's sunny or it's wet. I suppose if your just starting off then that would be a good description of the environment!

We kicked Old Two Legs out of bed and he went in to tell the Girls to stop kicking the Poo Pot around, not that they took any notice of him and continued to make such a racket that it woke everyone up, including The Missus and that is not good!

So, there we were, all ready for our walk at seven and the sun was shining! I mean, like, no clouds!

We were down on the beach and I had decided it was just not warm enough for a swim. The tide was right in and all the rocks were covered with water. Snowflake did her normal trick of backing up as close to the water as she dared so that she could have a wee.

Then, without warning, this whopping great Tsunami rushed up the beach and soaked her butt again!

Rats! It's done it, Again!

Now, I know we shouldn't, but, we did laugh! She it always doing this if the tide is in. Holly suggested that she gets some side mirrors bolted onto he harness or better still, get a reversing camera mounted on her tail!

Snowflake was 'Not Amused' and went of swishing her tail from side to side to shake the water off it!

Up the top of the beach the ferrets found a plant that they described as 'A Good Sniff' and proceeded to dive in and roll about and blow raspberries at Holly and me!

This is just the best sniff today!

Mind you, I had investigated that sniff earlier and decided it was too weak and soft to be of any interest!

I did ask OTL if I could have another investigate but he said that the ferrets had claimed it and I should find another!

....but the beach has been washed clean of sniffs!

We headed off for home and as usual, both ferrets were sniffing the long grass and, as normal, Brambles was dawdling along, sticking his nose into the mouse holes and shrew runs by the side of the path.

We all stopped when he gave out a shout and on turning around we saw he had a Shrew in his mouth and was giving it the 'Shake of Death'

It died with a broken neck!

Hey! I've still got it girls!

We all came back to see it and Brambles got a little possessive about it and wouldn't let us get too close. He said he had hunted it and stalked it and then pounced. Holly reckons that the Shrew was running along it's grass run and fell into Brambles mouth, it had got tired of living and had in fact committed suicide by jumping into Brambles mouth!

Brambles told her to Woof Off and proceeded to chew the head off the Shrew and said that it made a change from the Ferret Food OTL feeds him and in fact it was a good bit of 'Roughage'!

Now, shall I roast it or maybe Stew it?

Back home we all had a good snooze and Holly and I got a Bone Biscuit which we enjoyed and made a big mess with the crumbs!

OTL was plonking away on the computer until we reminded him that lunchtime was approaching and the Girls would be needing their walk soon!

So, he missed the beginning of the F1 Racing 'cos he was down the beach with us!

As it is the weekend there were a load of 'Visitors' enjoying the sun and of course, loads of Oooo and Arrr's over the ferrets!

They enjoyed a dig in the sand and April declared it to be 'Just Right' 'cos it was still damp and  came out in clumps!

Just right for a hole!

 Mind you, OTL and Holly were keeping an eye open for visiting woofers 'cos you never know if they would fancy a ferret sandwich!

Heads Up! Woofers to the rear!

 Miss May got all worried and hid behind the steps until they had passed!

Have they gone yet?

There were some digging in the grass and when we got down to the beach Holly and I kept an eye on a big woofer running up and down the beach but he didn't come anywhere close so we didn't need to tell him off!

I don't think he has seen the ferrets, so they should be OK!

It's amazing just how many Two Legs stop to say hello to the ferrets and want a stroke and OTL has to tell the story of how we got them and what they are called and what to feed them on and will they bite and what's their names, and and and and!

So, it's been a good weekend and tomorrow OTL is going to start getting the cages ready for our holiday plus see what camera gear he will need.

TM is to play 'House' in the caravan getting that ready and we will be helping her by snoozing in the caravan while she gets it all clean.

That looks like a good job for everyone tomorrow!

So, bye bye for now and Bye Bye to Tony and sorry for calling you Steve yesterday, it was OTL's fault, he is getting too old and forgetful and dopey!

Saturday with OTL.

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Mr Brambles, Miss April and Miss May back with you again!

It was a very early start today, The Missus has one of her 'Master Classes' up at the village hall and wanted to get up there at seven to get set up!

Poor Old Two Legs, he hates early mornings nearly as much as he hates getting up in the early hours to let Holly or me out for a wee!

Still, it did give him a chance to get some pictures of the sunrise, which, wasn't too bad! 

Autumn Morning

 And

Sailing by.

 The tide was in and it had covered the rocks, so Miss Snowflake couldn't find a rock to hide behind.

She made us all turn away while she had a wee and then had a wave creep up and wet her butt!

No Peeking!

 Holly did pass a comment that it all looked just too dangerous for her to do and she would stick to the long grass!

Rather you than me!

 We got back good and early and of course headed for a soft comfortable place for an early morning snooze.

The ferrets got turns in rampaging around the house while OTL cleaned up the Poo Pots. Snowflake and Brambles were the first out and had fun chasing each other all over the place. Then, when their cage was ready, back they went and headed straight for their snoozing bed where they cuddled up and drifted off.

Next it was the turn of the Page Three Girls, they had a good game of chase and then tried to get OTL to play chase, which he did 'cos he loves playing that game with them and they are such fast movers!

While OTL was clearing out the cage bottom he heard a terrible screaming from Brambles and Snowflakes cage, it would appear that Miss May had climbed up the side of the cage and had fallen through the temporary roof  which was made of a car blanket. (We are still waiting for a new cage from Italy!)

That was it, Snowflake doesn't like ferrets dropping through the roof unannounced and set to show her annoyance at being disturbed!

She was beating seven sorts of Ferret Poo out of Miss May!

OTL to the rescue! Both ferrets were in need of cuddles and after ten minutes everyone calmed down and returned to their own cages!

OTL says we should get the new cage before we go away on holiday! Just don't ask which holiday!

Lunchtime I fancied going out early, so, I did my 'Talk'. That is where I sit in front of OTL and talk to him in 'Woofer' and although he is a Two Legs, he does sort of get what I mean, in the end!

So, picking up the Page Three Girls, we headed off to the beach.

Being a weekend, there were strangers walking along the sea wall and Holly and I kept a close watch on the woofers we didn't know!

There was one gang that I didn't like the look of, so I kept everyone Moving!

I don't like the look of that lot!

 The ferrets were having a great time digging in the sand and nibbling some of the sea weed. Holly and I stood guard and had some fun telling them how to dig the holes!

You know, for a Ferret, they do shift some sand!

Back home in the rain, so no hanging about!

At four we have to send OTL off to get TM, so we sit at the window waiting for her to turn up!

Then we go a little potty!

Now we want to say a big 'HELLO' to Tony who we have been told  read our little blog on his Kindle. Now, we have never got used to using that thing, OTL has got one but it just doesn't work with our claws and our paws are just too big to type anything never mind sending an email!

I prefer the laptop 'cos I can type using four claws!

Kicking Poo Pots can be Fun!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Mr Brambles, Miss April and Miss May back with you again!

Now, you know just how much we love winding up Old Two Legs? Well, I must admit, these Page Three Girls are Masters at it!

They are so full of fun and have worked out just how to 'Push OTL's Button'!

Take last night. OTL will normally get Holly and me settled on our bed, then, off he goes to say 'Good Night' to the ferrets which normally means a cuddle and a slurp of Ferretone before being ticked up in their sleeping beds. Brambles and Snowflake are first and after a slurp they are off to sleep in no time.

Next comes May and April who have decided that Ferretone and a cuddle make a good start to an evenings entertainment.  Slurp, Slurp, Lick, Lick on OTL's cheek and back into the sleeping bed.

While OTL is switching off the computers, they both jump out of bed and rush down to the Poo Pots, get behind the pot and give it an almighty great shove so that Cat Litter and Poo are sent all over the cage floor.

Poke head over edge of Poo Pot to see if OTL is looking and if not, give Poo Pot another Almighty Shove so it now is standing on it's edge with Poo and Litter spread everywhere around the cage!

Yesterday OTL decided to fight back!

Miss May, the Ring Leader, was doing to Poo Pot Kicking Trick and OTL hauled her out of the cage and put her into the travelling cage and then turned it around to face the wall. He said she was in the 'Naughty Box'!

He then cleared up the mess and replaced the cat litter.

After a while she sort of fell asleep, so OTL got her out and put her back in the sleeping bed.

As soon as OTL had let go of her, out she came, rushed down to the Poo Pot and kicked it all over the place again!

Back she went into the 'Naughty Box'!

This time he left it for a bit longer and he managed to get some work done that he had been meaning to do all day!

It must have been a good half an hour before OTL turned the box around, collected Miss May and deposited her back in the sleeping bed again.

This time she cuddled up with Miss April and went back to sleep!

Around six this morning guess what? Yep! The Poo Pot Kicking started again but as OTL was having a wash he couldn't be certain which Miss it was, and, as they looked over the top of the Poo Pot, they both had grins on their faces!

This morning it was a bit chilly down on the Sea Wall, both Snowflake and Brambles got out of the bag for a quick wee while Holly and I looked for rabbits, but even they had gone back to bed!

Another five minutes please!

There was a funny sunrise this morning and we were surprised that we could see the wind powered generators all the way down the coast at Herne Bay!

We can see for miles!

Even Miss Snowflake was busy investigating all the rocks, looking for a 'Suitable' rock to wee behind!

I think this one will suffice!

Back home to some boring stuff which kept OTL in the office pounding away at the computer key board. Holly and I retired to the sofa after a bowl of chicken, for a well earned snooze.

Upstairs in the office Miss April and Miss May pestered OTL to let them have a run around the office while he was working and OTL fell for it!

They had a great time in and out of the stuff in the office. The drawers were pulled out and wriggled behind, the keyboard was run over and they nearly ordered a million widgets with knobs on!

Then, April sort of became very quiet, in fact she was silent, so silent that OTL started to worry.

After calling her and then searching in all her favourite hiding places he found her, behind a drawer, chomping away at a bit of 'Teeth Cleaning Chew' she had pinched from under my cushion!

I always keep my teeth clean!

OTL thought it was very funny and left her there to get shiny white teeth!

Later on, after more Poo Pot Kicking they both headed off for a snooze and Miss April was so worn out that she only just made it into bed!

Teeth Cleaning is Hard Work!

 OTL left us at home and went to fetch the caravan from the menders and now we have a caravan all back together again and ready for the holiday!

No Rain, No Monsters, No OTL!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Mr Brambles, Miss April and Miss May back again!

Well, it hasn't been the best of days today, you see Holly has got a Grumbly Tum and that means she is off her food and doesn't want to play 'Chase Around The House', instead all she wants to do is curl up on the sofa and look miserable!

Down on the beach this morning the tide was right out so the ferrets were free to climb over the sea weed and hunt for the Big Slimy Monster but today we think the Monster might have gone with the tyre we saw yesterday!

No tyres, I'm off for a wee as well!

 Holly, was sitting on the sand and refused to move. Then she said 'I'm sitting on a really good sniff' now, I'm always interested in good sniffs and asked if I could investigate it.

Is it worth two biscuits and chew when your tum gets better?

 Yes, it was!

An expensive sniff but worth every bit!

 Back home Old Two Legs sneaked out with a big parcel that he had to deliver and a list of customers he had to call on. That means we were left behind!

Holly went off to the sofa and fell asleep while I sat at the window waiting for OTL to come back!

Lunchtime came and we were wondering if The Missus was going to take us out when the big car landed on the drive, OTL is back!

Holly and I were all excited 'cos he had returned and just as excited 'cos he got the ferrets ready and got ua all in the car!

We had a good run, well I did but Holly was just plodding along with OTL and the Page Three Girls!

She came across a ring of toadstools and OTL called it a Fairy Ring but as Holly couldn't see any fairies she just called it a ring of toadstools!

So, where is the fairies?

 We got down on the beach and Holly stayed up on the Sea Wall and laughed at May and April digging holes in the sand and then chasing OTL up and down the beach!

A Hole or OTL? A Hole or OTL? Decisions, Decisions!

 The tide wasn't right in so I couldn't go swimming but I did get a muddy paddle!

So, we are now off to see what is for dinner, Holly says that she isn't really interested and said that if I wanted, I could have her Lambs Heart!

River Monsters!

Hi Woofers!

It's Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Mr Brambles, Miss April and Miss May back to see you again!

Just for a change, this morning it was sunny and bright. Down on the beach most of the weed had been washed away and the sand looked all clean and bright!

Mind you, the ferrets say they prefer the grass and while the sand is OK for a dig, you can't beat a good 'Ferret Around' in the undergrowth!

Bright, clean and washed!

Back home we got Doggy Scoff, so that cheered us up a treat, I don't think! Old Two Legs had a lot to do so we had to stay behind and catch up on our snoozing!

Lunchtime he was back and off we went for a walk. The Page Three Girls were in a fine funny mood. Miss May got her harness on first and after a slurp of Ferretone she gave OTL a lick on his cheek!

She is learning!

Our lunchtime walk starts off with a rummage around in the grass which we all enjoy. The ferrets enjoy hunting around for sniffs and monsters!

They have found some sniffs but no monsters yet!

I just love a good sniff!

 Miss May pretended she was a monster but she didn't fool anyone!

I'm a Ferret Monster!

 The tide was almost in and I went off looking for a stick for OTL to throw but all I found was some old egg sacks, so we used that for a while!

Egg Sacks are better than nothing!

 Miss May was getting big and brave and was investigating a sniff on the beach when a wave came rushing in and gave her a wet tail!

Yikes! That was a wet one!

 OTL dried her off by rolling her in his coat which is all soft and acts as a super towel! After that she sat in the sunshine for a while and OTL managed this shot!

Looking Good Miss May!

We got down to the beach where the ferrets normally dig in the sand before heading home.

Today Holly was getting upset about a strange looking thing that was floating just off shore!

She woofed at it and told it to Woof Off! Then she told me to investigate and chase it off our beach.

I went into the water and slowly got closer, then I realised what it was, it was a car wheel that had been covered with weed and pushed off into the water!

Holly says Woof Off or your in trouble!

 It was a bit of a surprise but Holly didn't believe that it was a car tyre covered with weed and insisted it was a monster!

It's a pity she couldn't get out to see it, mind you, she would have got her paws wet, and that would never do!

I hope there is some good muggings tonight, that scoff is a bit yuk, even Holly turns her nose up at it!

Back to work again!

Hi Woofers!

It's Daisy, Holly, Miss Snowflake, Mr Brambles, Miss April and Miss May here!

Well, it's not as bad as yesterday but it still managed to rain on us this morning when we were down the beach and then it did it again in the afternoon!

You can see the clouds passing over us in this picture Old Two Legs took.

Another Woofers Warning'!

Today is the first day of Autumn, bet you didn't know that! Well, it is and I can see that there will be more of these 'Sunrise Photos' on the blog, together with Fungi in strange places!

Talking of strange, Holly was sniffing about on the beach when Brambles came up and asked if he could jump over her!

Of course, she said that there was no way a ferret could jump over a woofer and that he would only hurt himself if he tried!

You are joking, aren't you?

Brambles insisted that he would be OK and would clear Holly with no trouble 'cos he had been practising jumping onto the sofa!

Holly did ask if he had ever got onto the sofa and Brambles had to admit he hadn't, but he had got close yesterday morning, but he fell off  'cos he caught one of his claws on the dog blanket on the seat and ended up slipping onto the carpet!

He made such a fuss that Holly agreed and stood there as Brambles came tearing along the beach. Holly turned her head away saying that she 'Just couldn't look' and Mr B ran straight past and stopped by her tail.

I just can't look!

'There you go!' said Brambles, 'Straight over the top and a safe landing as well!'

Of course, Holly couldn't argue with him 'cos she had her eyes closed and I'm not going to tell her!

This morning the Page Three Girls were having a great game and winding OTL up at the same time. You see, OTL says 'Hello' to them and lets them out for a run around the house as a treat in the morning. After putting them back in the cage they normally will kick the Poo Pot around to get his attention again for a cuddle or another run around the office.

This morning they were going to wind OTL up good and proper, they decided to play 'Poo Pot Tennis'!

As one tossed the Poo Pot across the floor, the other would kick the other Poo Pot so it hit the first Poo Pot and crashed against the wall, then, the first one would kick it again and off they went, Bang, Crash, Bang, Crash, CRASH.............................15 Luv!

No matter what OTL said, they took no notice of him and had a right old Crash and Bang about for quite some time!

That was until they felt tired and went to bed in their new Hanging Bed!

Beats Wimbledon any day!

Lunchtime arrived and the sun was out, well, jumping around the sky and hiding behind the clouds and there were a lot of clouds!

Holly was the first to notice that the clouds were getting bigger!

I think it's going to rain soon!

Not that it worried me 'cos I was in the water playing at 'Cross Channel Swimming'!

Which way to France!

The ferrets were deep in the weed that got washed up on the beach from yesterdays tide!

Loads of Ferret Sniffs!

There's loads of insects in here!

Then it started, the rain, it came down, then it came down with a bit more force and Holly really got worried!

We're in for a soaking!

The ferrets finally got the message and ran over to OTL for protection!

I need cuddles!

It wasn't too long before April sniffed the rain as well!

I need cuddles as well!

They had a cuddle but it wasn't for long, they wanted to get down and go sniffing in the long grass.

Then it happened, it started to rain and it got heavier and heavier!

We were all running back to the car but we got soaked through to the skin!

Holly was mumbling away about 'I told you so' and the ferrets were wondering if anyone was wee'ing on them 'cos they had never been out in the rain before!

Now they have!

Just wait until it snows!
