Claws Crossed for Eric!

 Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here.

Last night after doing the blog Old Two Legs visited Eric to see how he was feeling, not too good was the answer.

Eric came out of the cage and cuddled up to OTL for a good twenty minutes, only moving a little, just to wiggle his tail about.

It was the same last thing at night when we went to bed. Eric was offered his favourite Ferretone but he turned his nose up at it!

So, first thing this morning OTL is in the telephone and got an appointment in three quarters of an hour from when he telephoned.

We bet the Two Legs wouldn't have done it that quick!

Anyway, in he went and Eric got a shot of anti-biotic stuff and another shot of solution to help with his dehydration. He also got a bottle of jollop to squirt down his throat twice a day and a tin of cat convalescence food which according to Eric, tastes like dog poo with knobs on!

If there is no improvement by Wednesday then we got to go back.

Eric was as good as gold when he got the injections but we can't say that about when OTL got the bill!

So, Eric has been snoozing all day so far, let’s hope he looks better tomorrow!

On our morning walk we go past the old water tower where the trains used to get a drink, when they were running.

At one time Allhallows was supposed to be developed into a rival against Southend-on-Sea but in the end, it failed and all we have is the tower and a building that is now flats that used to be the train station!

OTL has promised to bring the camera out with him when there is a sunrise to go with the tower!

Lunchtime we discovered that one of the rigs had sailed away! I mean, they didn't even tell us it was going!

And now there is only one left in the docks!

It doesn'tlook like it will be there very long either, it's got new paint and those legs have been cleaned as well.

Walking down the hill we found an oak tree that had started to change. The leaves were changing but there were still a large number of green leaves left.

Eric has spent most of the day sleeping but late this afternoon OTL hand fed Eric with some of his Kibble, he didn't have much but managed a few bits.

We are hoping that he gets hungry during the night and has some more. Mind you, he did have some slurps of Ferretone but left the convalescence stuff alone. He took a bit of Chicken Strip but hid it under his bed, maybe he will have that later on as well.

Well, that's it for today, claws crossed for Eric and we'll see you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holy, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.

Another Soggy Sunday!

 Hi Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here!

It's been a real Soggy Day today, our first walk this morning was terrible, Holly and I had our rain coats on but still managed to get soaked all over our head and tail, even though the middle bit was dry, on top, but our paws and tummies were soaking.

Mind you, Old Two Legs was soaked through as well even though he had his waterproofs on!

Being it was Sunday, it has been a relaxing day, Holly and I managed to get the bed and blanket while OTL cleaned the cages. Eric is still not very well; he is off his food and his poo hasn't improved. He came out of the cage, went down stairs and crawled into the cardboard box and went to sleep. then later he went up to Wendy's box and fell asleep next to Wendy, which is just not normal for Eric. OTL says that if there is no improvement tomorrow morning then it's off to the vet.

Lunchtime the rain was reduced to a dribble and we headed off to the coast but the wind was blowing off shore so there were no white horses on the waves and the trees had still to start shedding their leaves and make a spectacular show of colour.

At least the berries had got some colour to them even though the leaves were still green'ish!

Out of the rain and wind the wooden steps down were wet and slippery, OTL nearly slipped down! Mind you, his rubbber paw covers, he calls them Wellies, are not the best thing to wear on slippery stairs!

It's at times like this that paws with claws are better than wellies!

Those rubber paws would be best in this soggy bit!

Well, it's started to colour up but I reckon another couple of weeks yet before it really goes boom!

Monday tomorrow and back to work, or in our case, down to the vet with Eric. Unless of course his tum  is all cleared up.

He came out of the cage this evening for a cuddle with OTL and didn't even bother with trying to mug some Ferretone, which is most unusual!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Poorly!

Didn't it Rain!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret here!

It's been one of those 'Yuk' days. Old Two Legs was awake early this morning, possibly because The Missus was up early and needed all the lights in the house turned on at the same time plus her morning exercise of running up and down the stairs to get rid of a few calories!

OTL took us over the old golf course and we all got very wet!

Back home it was the cleaning of the ferret cage that had OTL concerned. You see, with ferrets, when the have an upset tummy they do a poo that is not only green but rather smelly.

Miss Snowflake got infected at a ferret show and needed injections and looking after cos the did what are called 'Greenies' and once the vet got a whiff of the Greenies he opened all the windows in the surgery!

Well, anyway, Eric has done some 'Dark Greenies' which were a bit pongy if you shoved yor nose too close!

OTL has decided that Eric is on 'Strict Food' with no treets like Ferret Milk, Brambles Biscuits or Chicken strips.

On the other paw, Wendy can have what she wants 'cos she is cleaner than Donald!

Me, staying away from the Greenies!

Well, whenever we went out it was raining and even though OTL put on his Mountain Climbing Gor-Tex Over Trousers, His big waterproof coat and 'Old Geezer' hat and wellies, he still got wet!

One of the nice things was to see the leaves startng to turn and we are getting the colours of Autumn starting to come through.

Just before we sat down to write this blog, we all had to inspect the ferret cage and so far all poo looks 'healthy'. That is, no Greenies and no serious sniffs in the office!

Both ferrets are cuddled up together and snoring their tails off!

See you tomorrow and claws crossed that the rain has stopped!

Luv,

Daisy, Holly, Miss Wendy and Eric de Ferret.
