A New Moth?

Hi Woofers,

Daisy here.

Good fun today, Old Two Legs has been searching the Internetty and his reference books trying to identify a moth that we found in the moth trap this morning.

Trouble with moths is that there are two types of moths, like one is big and coloured but the other type all look the same, brown and indistinct.

It seems that we get the second type in our garden which has OTL banging his head on the office wall!

After extensive study we reckon this is The Uncertain!

Mind you, it is well named 'cos we are just as Uncertain ourselves!

I hung around waiting for Devo but he didn't turn up, maybe he stayed in bed cos it was very windy along the sea wall.

No Devo, let's get on home to the warm!

Lunchtime we walked all the way through the forest and along the Puma Path but when we entered the forest the sign said Puma Path but there are so many paths when we came out it was miles away from the Puma Path!

Is it this way?

Mind you, we came across these flowers in a spot where the wind wasn't blowing.

Looks like it is poking its tongue out on the bottom green buds!

It was just the same with this one as well, we have never noticed this before, must get a closer look tomorrow!

OTL reckons that after a bee has been in and pollenated the flower, the 'Bell' drops off leaving the green buds to grow into seed pods.

Well, that’s just as good a reason as any!

We have all been lazy today, it's all this getting back to work that wears you out!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy.

No Devo and a Manky Fox.

Hello Woofers,

Daisy here.

OTL changed over cameras this morning, put the Macro Lens on it hand headed off to photograph insects and creepy stuff.

All he managed was a flower!

 That's it, just one flower!

I had a sniff around and thought I could sniff Devo but decided it was from a couple of days ago!

Maybe he was here yesterday or even the day before.

The wind was high so it was difficult to tell so maybe if I sat around and waited he may turn up.

So, I sat down and waited to see if he would come running around the corner. OTL wasn't too pleased to have to sit and wait with me and he started making loud 'Come Here' types of noise, I ignored him of course!

I thought I could hear woofing in the distance but it turned out to be one of those ball chasing woofers!

 Is it?

In the end I had to give up and off we went, as quickly as possible 'cos the wind was getting up and I didn't want to hang about.

On the way back home, we saw a sorry looking fox sniffing around the cars in the village. I must admit, it looked a right mess and we were unsure if it was suffering from a case of mange or was in need of a good meal!

OTL stopped the car to see what it was doing.

Well, it looks young and loosing it's fur!

No food there and the bins aren't out today!

It crossed the road and headed off towards the farm entrance, maybe there will be something to eat in there.

Well, he certainly looks young and underfed, let’s hope he survives. What he needs is a good rabbit pie!

Back home we found just one moth in the trap, a Treble Lines, not the most exciting but at least there are none in Scotland!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy.
