Keeping Two Legs under control

Hi Folks!

Being a Puppy and also the smallest in the house normally means you have to do what your told all the time.

You know, get off the furniture, get off the bed, don't pee on the carpet, don't stand in your water bowl, give me my sock back! All boring stuff, but there are times when you can get your own back.

Well, yesterday I've had a 'Result'.

Old Two Legs was getting ready to take me out for my late morning walk. He was phaffing around looking for my lead so I went ahead of him out the door.

Us doggy's are more in tune to the weather than you lot and I knew that in about ten minutes we would get rain.

I DON'T DO RAIN!

Would you wear This?

Puddles, wet grass, mud, smelly ditches, Fox Poo, yes, rain, No!

So being off the lead I decided that a quick run around the football pitch behind the house would be a good idea. A quick wee and a poo then back for some lunch.

OTL did not see it that way, he wanted to go over the fields, no chance, so I started to walk down the path to the park.

OTL was a sight to see, calling, blowing the whistle, jumping up & down, shouting, then finally walking towards me as though he was going to clip the lead onto my collar. I kept about ten feet in front of him all the time, running towards the park, stopping, let him almost catch up, then trotting another few feet, stopping so that he thought I was was waiting for him and just as he got close, off I would trot again!

Well, we went around the park, I had a wee and a poo, OTL put that in the 'Poo Bin'.

Then it started to rain. So, like the good puppy I am, I let him clip the lead on and we made a hasty retreat to home.

I think, secretly, he was pleased he did not have to walk in the rain but it was good to get one over on OTL though!

My Special Place

Hi there!

Everyone has a 'special place' they like to go to where they feel safe, comfortable and warm. I've got such a place. I like to sneak off there after coming back from my morning walk or if I want to be quiet  during the day.

After getting a morning brush from Old Two Legs and breakfast from The Missus I have a wander around the house doing my 'tour of inspection'.

I have to keep an eye on these two, if they leave anything laying around I have to clear it up, socks, slippers, bits of paper and OTL's screwdrivers.

Once my inspection has been done I need to settle down for a little nap.

Now I know that I can't take any of my nibbles to my 'special place' as most of the nibbles I like have smells that 'hang around'.

I like Roast Pigs Ears, and Dried Chicken Slices and Rawhide Rolls. All of which taste wonderful but tend to 'Honk' a bit!

If I took them to my 'Special Place' I think I would get into trouble, big time! So, I leave them in my basket, under the cushion, for later.

So, where's my 'Special Place'?

I sneak off to their bed where OTL lays his head each night. It's got a lovely smell of sweaty OTL and I can even smell his breath on it. It makes me feel all warm and safe.

All together....................Aaaah!

Eau De Old Two Legs

The one thing that spoils my snoozette? The Missus, she comes in, crashing about with the vacuum cleaner. That thing roars like a jet engine on heat!

The woman has no soul.

Pussy Cats

Hello there, and a Big Hello to Dougal the Tibetan Terrier as well!

I must tell you about a problem I've been having.

It is Chrissy, to be exact, her full name is 'Hissin Chrissy'

Chrissy is a big Grey-Blue Pussycat that visits my garden.

She is not a very nice Pussycat.

I am sure that Chrissy is not a happy cat, there must be something wrong with her home life or maybe she was weaned too early or even in need of a worming tablet. Needless to say when ever I meet up with her all she does is Hiss & Spit at me, not a nice Pussycat.

I was telling this to Holly when she was here and she suggested we have a serious talk to her, together, cos she couldn't Hiss & Spit at both of us at the same time. So we spent some time waiting at the back door for her. Sure enough Chrissy appeared on top of the fence and sneaked down to her hiding place at the side of the shed. She does her bird watching from there.

Because she is an unhappy cat, we can never go straight up to her to have a chat, we have to sort of 'sneak up' on her. So, off we went from the back door, crawling along on our tummies just like real Commando Puppy's, edging ever closer. I wanted to put some grass on my back and stick a twig in my collar as camouflage, but Holly reckoned we did not have the time.

We got to the end of the rockery and that is when Holly looses control and dashes forward to have a word.

Chrissy sees Holly coming and runs back along the gap between the fence and the shed.

Seeing what is going on, I have no option but to run around the other side of the shed to try to block off Chrissy's escape. By now Holly was letting of the most terrible war cry a puppy could make. I joined in to show solidarity with my sister and went crashing through the undergrowth behind the shed, whooping and hollering as well

Between howls and barks, I could hear something coming my way. Yes, it was Holly, we crashed into each other, nose to nose and breathing heavily.

'Well' I asked, 'Where is she'? It was then we heard Chrissy hissing above our heads. She had gone straight up the wall and onto the roof.

These Pussies can be as sneaky as a Greasy Badger!

Holly's Gone

Today I'm not a happy puppy.

Holly went back to her home yesterday. I know these visits can't last forever and we do have loads of fun when she is here but it's still sad when I have to wave bye bye.

Still, there is always the next time to look forward to, new games, new smells and new tricks on Old Two Legs. Holly came up with a great one this time, she pretended that she was a dog from outer space and chased me around the garden growling and woofing!

Take Me to Your Leader!

I just hope it won't be too long before she comes back.

Mind you, there are some benifits, at least now I will get all of my bed to myself without her shoving her paw in my ear in the middle of the night!

Before Holly came to visit, I was working on a plan to get out of the kitchen each night and sleep up stairs with OTL and The Missus.

What I did was to wait for a hour or so after OTL put me to bed and turned the lights out. I then start scratching the kitchen door and wimpering and barking, like I do when I get a tummy upset and wanted to have a poo NOW!

Down comes OTL and opens the kitchen door and then the back door. Well, by then I had shot back past his legs and up to bedroom like a streak of light, ready for a cuddle with The Missus.

Up he comes, all puffing and growling, picks me up and takes me back to my bed.

I must work on a better plan, maybe one where he gets locked out in the garden!

Down in the Woods

Good morning everyone!

Did you turn your clocks back? Old Two Legs didn't so he got up an hour earlier than he needed!

OTL is having a shower so I thought I'd let you know what happened yesterday. OTL it seems did not like my Paw Painting on his pillow, he's been moaning about mud and grit in his ears, at least, I think he said grit, you just can't please him sometimes!

Me and Holly went in the car with OTL down to the farm, just the other side of the 'Big Town' (super smells there, Curry, Cheese Burgers, Kebabs and Chinese food). Driving in the car it's good fun barking at the people on the path and sticking our tongues out at the other drivers! OTL winds down the window so we can stick our heads out of the window and do some 'Speed Sniffing', it's just amazing how many sniffs you can get in such a short time!

The Farm is a brilliant place, it's got hedgerows and trees where Holly and I run, chasing the foxy smells. OTL seems to spend most of his time calling us back from the trees, just as we start rolling in a particularly good smell.

OTL claims it is fox poo, but we don't care cos it smells wonderful.

In the woods we just love charging about looking for rabbits, you have got to do that to keep OTL happy. Our barking keeps them hidden in their burrows though. Going deeper into the woods you may find a Badger or two, we keep close to OTL because an old Labrador we met told us Badgers eat little puppies like us. We haven't seen a Badger yet but we don't take any chances, OTL will keep us safe.

I thought I had found a Badger, I was snuffling around the back of a log pile when I heard a snuffle coming from the other side of the logs. So I crept slowly and quietly around the logs trying not to make a noise on the leaves, I peeked around the corner, and saw nothing!

I could still hear the suffling but further around the logs, so, off I went, creeping around the logs looking for the snuffling 'Puppy Eating Badger'. As I wasn't catching up with the Badger I decided that instead of going around the logs, I'd go over the top.

Slowly I climbed up to the top and peeked over.

There was Holly, nose down, backside up up in the air, snuffling along the logs. 'Psst' I said 'Wotcha got?' 'Shhhhhh' she said, I think I've found a Badger!

I didn't say anything, I had a pee and chased off after OTL.

Everyone knows you don't get Badgers during the day time!

Tail Tweaking

Hi!

Life was a little quiet yesterday, Old Two Legs had to go out to do some work so me and Holly did not get our normal 'adventure' trip out. We had to put up with The Missus taking us for a walk across the fields today, still there was not so much of the 'sit' and 'come here'

While we wait for OTL I'll tell you a bit about the best game I know, second to 'Tug The Rope' or maybe 'Chase around the Furniture' or even 'Dig a Big Hole' or better still 'Sneak onto OTL's Bed', I like that one, especially if I have just been digging in the garden and it's been raining.

Holly and I play a game of 'Tag', she chases me and tags me then I chase and tag her. I reckon I am pretty good at the 'Tail Tweak & Roll' tag. It goes like this......Holly is going like the clappers to get away from me but I get close to her and line up on her tail.

I then grab the tail, at the base and run with her for at least five steps. It is very important to run the five steps as it proves that the grab was not just a lucky grab but rather a well executed grab!

Next comes the tricky bit, I then turn the tail in a anti-clockwise movement to off balance Holly, just enough to get her to twist around and stumble a bit.

Tagged!

Tomorrow I'll tell you about the 'Leg Grab & Shoulder Charge' that Holly uses. I think I had better get off the bed now, I have put pretty muddy paw prints all over the pillow. OTL will be pleased with my little present for him, artistic Avant-garde Paw Painting!

Happy Days!

Hello and thanks for dropping by to look at my little blog.

After posting yesterdays effort Old Two Legs took Holly and I out for a walk over the fields. A bit cold it was, what with the wind blowing in off the sea, gets right up your tail it does!

Holly and I are still yapping about our birthday party. We had loads of presents, squeaky toys that are great to play with when OTL wants to watch his television.

The Missus wanted a birthday picture of me & Holly, so we played that one to the limit.
I reckon we must have had a whole packet of Doggy Chocs and half a chicken before we were both looking at the camera!

This obedience thing can be a great laugh.

When Holly is over we go out with a 'yoke' type of strap so that we are both walking together on one lead. No problem with that, we can still have a tussle while walking along the foot path.

The best bit is when we come to the kerb. OTL pulls us back so we are both facing the road then commands 'sit', we don't move, so a little louder he says 'Sit', still no one moves, now he gets all bossy and bellows 'SIT', so one of us sits.

He then calls 'sit' again but then adds Holly or Daisy, depending on who is still standing. At that point, slowly and with great style the standing one sits, and at the same time the sitting one stands.

He then says 'sit' and adds the others name. So, again, one of us sits as the other stands.

After a while our tails are like two pistons pumping up and down, sit, stand, sit, stand, sit, stand, ............Gotcha Two Legs!

Hello!

Me and Old Two Legs
Hello! My name is Daisy, I am one year and four days old. I live with Old Two Legs and The Missus, she feeds me and that is just one of my favourite things .

My sister Holly is over to stay for a few days, it's great fun having a game of 'chase' with her. She is a bit heavier than me and while she is almost as fast as me on the straight, I'm better at cornering.

We love going out with Old Two Legs, he takes us to different places for long walks. Sometimes it is over farmland and other times we go down by the seaside. The walk close to home goes past a place where horses are kept. Funny things they are, only interested in eating grass and pooing.

It's great fun to find a pile of fresh poo and take a mouthful, tastes a bit like fizzy grass. It's ok for a lick and a chew but you couldn't live on it!

Best bit is when OTL notices what we are doing and starts jumping up and down screaming his head off. 'No, No, No'

Dunno what he's so worried about, there is enough for him as well!
