I've made a discovery!

Hello to you all!

I often meet other dogs when I'm out walking with OTL and if you don't know, there is a sort of ceremony  we doggy's do to work out who gets the 'respect'!

In my case, I stand there, all erect and tail up in the air, then I jump forward a few steps to see what reaction I get from the other dog. Once we have worked out who gets the respect, it's then a game of chase.

Now, I'm sort of young and small when I'm stood next to most of the doggy's I meet and normally it is me wot gets chased! I get a little worried because they are bigger, rougher and tougher than me. This normally results in me yelping like I've been bitten and being picked up by OTL as I try to scramble up his leg!

But I'm learning!

Yesterday, OTL and I were out walking around the football field when a Staffy appeared all big and rough, tough and ready for trouble. We went through the 'Who's the Boss' bit and then he started to chase me!

I started off by running around in a big circle with my tail tucked under my bottom, as normal, then ran to OTL. He didn't pick me up! So, I ran around again and jumped up to OTL, he still didn't pick me up! So, I ran around again. I then noticed that the Staffy could not turn as quickly as me. Hey! Salvation! So, I ran to the Staffy and then at the last moment, swerved away, the Staffy almost fell over as he tried to turn!

I reckon I'm on a winner here, all those games of chase with Holly look like they are paying off!

So, off I went to find another big doggy and see what I can do!

Well, it didn't take long, Buster and Jake turned up. Buster lives next door to me and Jake is his mate.

Now Buster is getting on a bit but Jake is only five years old and a Greyhound type of dog, you know really, really, fast. So, I try the swerving bit again, and it works! Oh WOW!

Jake before the Fall

By the time we had finished I was chasing Jake while he was still trying to go round corners. He even fell over twice trying to turn as quickly as I do!

Turning the Tables!
 See you tomorrow,

Another Lovely Day!

Hello All!

Today has been one of those laid back, no agro, everything is alright and 'I'm Happy' sort of days.

Woke up this morning to Hissin Chrissy sniffing around the garden near to where the bird feeders are, well, I'm not having her upsetting the birds in my garden, so woof, woof I went.

Actually, it was more like a gang of screaming Apache's on the war path, you get the idea!

It must have surprised the life out of Chrissy because she spun around and shot off down the garden, trouble was, the stone statue of a pigeon was in the way. Now Chrissy is a Pussy Cat and is made of fur, fat and teeth, the pigeon on the other hand is made of reconstituted stone and is hard and unforgiving, I know, I tried chewing it one day!

Chrissy, being full of guilt at whatever she was doing, had decided that a VFX (Very Fast eXit) was called for, unfortunately she had not reckoned with the pigeon.

Head down, tail straight out the back and looking back to see how close I was, she just didn't see where she was going.

Her VFX got faster as fear triggered the 'What the!..........get out Fast!' feeling that shoved her running speed into 'turbo boost with after burners'!

To me, it seemed like everything was happening in slow motion, me woofing, Chrissy VFX'ing, Pigeon doing the 'I'm Big and Hard & 'We shall not be moved' bit.

Chrissy ran straight into the pigeon.

Woof, Hiss, Meow, Thud, Meow, Hiss, Woof!

Ouch! Said the pigeon as it fell over.

My head Hurts!

Well that's how to start the day!

I was still laughing at lunch time!

See you tomorrow,
Daisy

Silly questions from Old Two Legs

Hello Fans!

Well, there I was sitting quietly, chewing on one of my rawhide chews, when in comes The Missus, 'What have you got there?' she says, 'Are you chewing your rawhide?'..................what's this I thought, a 'Trick Question?'

You know, I've got this lovely soft soggy bit of rawhide hanging out the side of my mouth, my jaws and teeth are giving it 'Wot-for' and she asks if I'm chewing rawhide. I would not mind so much but she is the one who bought it for me!

You know, Old Two Legs can be a bit like that as well.

There I am, digging this wonderful hole in the garden and he creeps up behind me, 'What are you doing?' he asks!

'I'm Flying a Plane' or 'Swimming The Channel' doesn't seem to impress him very much!

Better still, after a hard days running around keeping all the Monsters and Greasy Badgers out of the house, a girl needs to catch up on her sleep. So, what do I hear? 'Hello Daisy, are you asleep?'........No, this is me running up the stairs and chasing Badgers!
Me, Running up stairs!

Mind you, I do sometimes get my own back, like when OTL is asleep in the armchair, I jump up and give his ears a good licking and ask him, 'Are you asleep then?'

I wonder if Jake & Sabrina do this to Andrea when it's time to get up? Bet they do! Why should dogs in the U.S.A. be any different from us? Lick on Lads!

Hey, I've just come across a picture OTL took when we were on holiday in Scotland and I was missing Holly a bit.

I wish Holly was Here
That beach was Fantastic! A girl could run flat out for miles and also OTL did not mind me digging holes anywhere I wanted, it was a Brilliant holiday!

Ho Hum, back to guarding the house, chewing on some rawhide and catching up on my sleep.

See you all soon!

Monsters in The Loft

Hello All!

Sunday was a fun day for me. Old Two Legs was messing about in the loft, so, being a curious sort of puppy I sat at the bottom of the ladder and whined, well, a sort of snivel really, but it worked.

OTL came down the ladder and picked me up and carried me up into the loft. It was GREAT! I ran about all over the place chasing Greasy Badgers and Monsters AND Hissin Chrissy.

Fun in the Loft
OTL had a fun time trying to catch me when he wanted to go down the ladder, mind you, TM calling out that dinner was on the table, that really did attract my attention!

Later we went out for a walk down by the seaside, however, we didn't get to the sea exactly, OTL spent most of his time fighting to get through marsh and deep ditches. Me? I just jumped from one side of the ditch to the other! You see, four legs come in very helpful sometimes!

Well we got back and I got a wash down in the kitchen sink and OTL got told off for 'leading me astray', too right, it took TM to tell him off good and proper.

Poor Old Two Legs, as he often says, he is always in trouble, it's only the depth that worries him, and those ditches were deep!

On the brighter side, we met a couple of Yorkie type of dogs in the park, being taken for a walk by their owner, no problem with that, except they also had a big black cat with them as well.

You know me and cats! Off I went like a rocket on legs, the cat was a little more used to doggy's and stood there, back arched and hissin an spitting like Hissin Chrissy. Obviously that cat has been around dogs for far too long.

I woofed and then backed off, you think I'm stupid or something?

Bye bye for now!

Birding with OTL

Hello everyone Daisy Here Again!

Me and OTL have had a super day, we've been all over the place today. We started off by going for a late walk over the fields. It was late because The Missus was playing about getting all her card making gear together. She is going off to a 'Crop' with her mates and just did not have the time to take me out. It is amazing just how much stuff she has to take to make just one card!

By the time me and OTL got back TM had gone, so it was just me and OTL to load the car up with all the gear, you know, water, biscuits, chews, bowls, chicken dinner, sleeping bed, towel to dry me and a packet of 'chicken fillets' that I just LOVE! Oh,I forgot,OTL camera and stuff.

Well off we went and OTL would not tell me where we were going! It was great, I recognized the car park when we pulled in, it was Grove Ferry! I love this place!

As soon as we got over the road I was let off the lead and I streaked off down the path towards the reeds, this place is all reeds, smells and Foxes and more reeds!

Reeds Everywhere!
Well, I woofed at a couple of Twitchers, two ducks and a swan. Then OTL took me into the 'hide'. I was a good girl and didn't mug anyone, mainly because I couldn't smell any food!

So, I sat there and watched the ducks.
Duck Watching Daisy!
We stayed there for a couple of hours, had some lunch and OTL suggested we go off to Northwood Hill  to see the Barn Owl or even the Little Owl, I've not seen the Barn Owl yet.

A little later we arrived and set off to see the Barn Owl, as with most of OTL's bird plans, the Barn Owl had either gone out before we arrived or stayed in bed!

We did see the Little Owl but it was soooo far away that the photograph was all fuzzy! Just like OTL!
The Little Owl
OTL says you should try clicking on the picture as it makes the owl bigger..................it still looks fuzzy to me!!

What a Day!

Hello to you all again,
I charged up stairs at 5am yesterday morning and jumped onto OTL to wake him up, he just loves the old cold wet nose in his eye and a warm wet tongue in his ear!

OTL took me down to the vets to get some worming tablets, now I've got no problems with the worming, it's the vets I don't much care for.

Every time I've had to go there, I got hurt. I got spayed, that hurt, the operation wound got infected, that hurt, taking the stitches out hurt, I think. So, vets surgery is not my favorite place. So when I went in there, I had OTL dragging me from the front and me pulling to go back.

First of all I got weighed, 6.4Kg, not bad for little puppy of my age and size.

I kept my eye open for the vet, if she came out I was going to be 'Gone' like in a Flash!

OTL paid over the money got the pills and I dragged him out pretty sharpish!

You don't want to hang about there, you don't know what they got planned next!

As a reward OTL took me over the fields and I wanted to play 'Pirates' again, so, I did my trick on OTL, I jumped up at his legs so he would pick me up.

Then I climbed out of his arms and onto his shoulders.

The Crows Nest

From here I can pretend I'm in the crows nest and can see the ships out to sea!

Yo Ho, Me Hearties and a bottle of Dr D's Puppy Milk!

OTL ended up with my paw prints all over his shirt and coat.

A little present from me, Captain 'Dangerous' Daisy!

Saturday is 'Bird Watching Day', not sure where we are going yet but I'll tell you all about it in the morning.

Bye bye for now!

Work, work, work!

Hi Everyone,

Here I am again!
Boy have I had some fun today. I went to work with OTL in the car.

He loaded up the boot with his tools and off we went miles away from home into a busy yard where there were large lorries that were just oozing smells!

While OTL was doing something inside the lorry I stood guard over his tools in the car. There were loads of men walking around, dressed in bright yellow suits!
These men were walking around trying to look all big and tough, with loud voices and shouting at each other. That was, until they noticed me, then it was all coo-ee, nice doggy an tickle under the chin time. They weren't really as tough as they were trying to be!

I sat and guarded OTL's stuff and a couple of times I had to woof away some of the men 'cos they got too close to the car, but they only laughed at me!

Just see what would happen if they put their hand in the window.

I've got sharp Terrier Teeth!! Grrrr!

OTL weren't too long and we went off to have a look at some new woods on the way home and I think I saw a Rabbit, but it saw me first and was down it's rabbit hole quicker than a Greasy Badger!

OTL has promised to take me out on Saturday to do some bird watching, now that will be fun, loads of people with food in their pockets!

Bye for now!

Grandma's

Hello Everyone Daisy Here,

I've been down to Grandma's again, a little late in the day this time. So that means I didn't get to play on the fields in the light.

However, OTL parked the car and left TM in the car with the headlights on full beam pointing across the fields.

This was great, OTL and I could run along the beam and chase the leaves in the wind.

All was well until I noticed that in the distance there appeared a 'Thing' standing under the trees. At first I did not take too much notice but as we got closer, it got bigger. It looked horrible, sort of long and black.

Well I was getting a little concerned, the closer we got, the bigger it got.

By now all thoughts of wee'ing or poo'ing had gone and I was up on my back legs looking at the 'Thing'

Shock! Horror!  When I stood up on my back legs I could see that there, by the side of the 'Thing' was a smaller 'Thing'.

That's it I thought, time to see if they get scared by the barking of Dangerous Daisy!

No way, they just stood there looking at us.

It was at that point I decided that a safe place to be would be back in the car with TM, so I spun around and legged it back to the car, leaving OTL as rear guard.

Standing outside the car I let off a large number of 'Woofs' that if TM could understand, would translate as 'Open the door, now, monsters are chasing me, put the book down and let me in Now'!!!!!!!

Well finally she got the message and let me in.

OTL finally turned up, in one piece, climbed in the car, laughing!!!

He told the story of me and the 'Thing' and something called a 'Shadow thrown up by the car Headlights'

Still looked like a horrible 'Thing' to me!

Daisy's New Coat

Hello, it's me again!

Now before we go any further, I think I'd better explain about the cold, wind and rain, and me.

Unlike Holly, who has a thick coat of hair, my hair is light and soft and thin and it doesn't protect me from the nasty weather!
So, any help I can get with keeping me dry and warm is most welcome!

Yesterday OTL suggested a coat for me, so off we went to the local doggy shop.

Now that place has smells you could die for!

I just could not contain myself, it was GLORIOUS, there was even Rabbits in glass cages!

There were things called Hamsters that look like small rats!

Sort of 'See before you Eat' I suppose, but I would chase them rather than eat them!

Well, we got to the coat section and OTL started getting out different coats for me to try. There were big butch ones and there were some with furry edging, all in PINK!

Euck! and Double Euck!

Finally we settled on one that looks like it would keep the wind out.

Problem is, to get it to cover all my back down to my tail, I have to get a 'medium' size coat but the strap that goes under my tummy is just too long. No dog can be that fat!
In need of some Adjustment!

OTL has some sewing to do to shorten the straps and get them out of the way!

Well wadda ya think?

The Business or Wot?

OTL says it the Dogs Do-Da's, but I've seen Buster next door and it had better not look like his Do-Da's or there will be Big Trouble!

 Bye for now.........Daisy

Cloudy Monday

 Hello Everyone!

Last night seemed a little 'quiet', no Holly barking at the noises in the night and that frost this morning, Brrrrrr. Even I thought twice about going out over the fields!

I spent the morning wandering between my 'day bed' in Old Two Legs office and the bedroom window. I keep thinking I hear Holly's bark, so I rush to the window to see her, but she's not there.

So, I sit down and keep an eye on the people going past before going back to the 'day bed'.

Looking for Holly
OTL got told about the frost and me having second thoughts about the cold, so,being a practical sort of Two Legs, he suggested that it was because I was feeling the cold (Too Right)!

He suggested that it would be a good idea to get me a coat.

Now, don't call me ungrateful but looking at OTL's coat, I don't think I'd look 'The Business' with my front legs shoved down where he shoves his arms!

On the next blog I'll let you know what happened!

Have a fun day!!

CUSN
