Daisy and the Ball

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with you again.

This morning it was a little damp when we had our walk and we ended up with grubby paws.

Old Two Legs normally gives us a brush when we get back but today he was busy in the office, so we went straight thorough to breakfast, chicken and biscuits and a bowl of water.

After OTL had done all his manufacturing we got our brush and a 'Treat Nibble' of Doggy Chocs!

We played with OTL having a 'First to Blink' game. This is where we all go into play mode, chin on ground, paws by the side of chin and bottom up in the air.

Then we look at each other, tail wagging is allowed but no other movement.

Holly and me have fun like this all the time but OTL likes to think he can play it as well as us.

No Way!

Just to make sure, we let him get into play mode, then look at him, deep into his eyes. Our tails are wagging but he doesn't have a tail so he can't get rid of any 'twitches' that come from looking into some ones eyes.

So, when we think he is about to bust we either, jump forward and give him a lick on the nose or we roll over on one side and say 'Gottcha'

Poor OTL, he doesn't know what he did to loose the game........and we won't tell him!

Another run around The New Park and we had a splash in the Swimming Hole,  it was OK but we still didn't go further than our tummies!
Well, you go further then!
There was a Spaniel sort of dog called Bella who was rushing into the water to fetch her ball. She would come out of the water, drop the ball, woof at her owner to throw the ball again. I thought that was silly, so I rushed in, grabbed the ball and ran off a few yards and dropped the ball.

Gottcha Ball!
Bella rushed around, sniffing until she found the ball again, took it back to be thrown into the water again.

Ggeerroffa-my-ball!
A good game but it got boring after a while!

We headed back to the car and Holly decided to play 'Boo' with OTL, she would hide, like I do, and then jump out at him and woof 'Boo', in doggy, of course!
Boo!
Holly met up with a big wolf looking dog that she liked the smell of and followed him back down the path. She said he had a nice sniff to him, I said it was where he fell asleep in his food bowl!

Meaty Chunk and biscuits!
We had chicken again this evening for dinner, plus what we could mug from OTL and The Missus.

With a bit of luck, there may be some chicken left for breakfast tomorrow!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

A Fathers Day Special

Hello Woofers!

D&H back again.

Today is Fathers day and although we know that Old Two Legs is not our 'real' father, we sort of think of him as 'daddy' especially when we need protecting or have something nasty that needs sorting, like burs or sore paws or ticks.

Well, we were going to make him a card but we had a problem with the peel off's getting stuck on our noses and folding the card got us in a right mess!

So, instead we both woke him up this morning with a big special lick in each of his ears!

To celebrate, we went down to the Sea Wall and had a run up and down, stopping to laugh at the fishermen who were still trying to teach their worms to swim!

Fat chance!

More swimming worms!
Holly and me decided we would go for a swim but after I paddled in the water up to my tummy I decided it was too cold and told Holly she could go swimming on her own.
Fat chance!

Is it wet and cold?
We got back and then had a visit from The Boys. Holly played a game of 'Let's Lick Everyone' and I joined in, it was fun, especially when Momma Lisa got a lick. She says that we tickle her!

I haven't even touched her yet!
Matthew played the game and Holly gave him a big lick his nose!

A smacker from Holly!
Thomas, we had to attack from the top of the chair, that was fun jumping onto his shoulders!

Gottcha Tom!
We all had tea and Holly and me got some turkey as well! The Missus said that was a special treat as we had been such good puppies!

Might even be good again if we see her cooking more turkey tomorrow!

Off to bed now, so, bye bye for now!

A day for Ooo'ing!

Hello Fans,

It's us back again!

We've been at home with Old Two Legs today as The Missus went off to her crop in the village hall. She and her mates spend all day waving glue pots about and throwing glitter over everything, then, she comes home with a half finished card!

What a way to spend a Saturday!            All gas and glitter!

OTL and us had a good morning, we had fun chasing around the house, he was chasing Holly and me all over the place, around the garden and through the kitchen and up stairs. Holly and me can get through the steps in the stairs on the run but OTL has to go around, so, we beat him every time!

Lunch time we went out down to The New Park, a good run all around The Orchard and up to The Guardians then back to the Swimming Hole.

It was a long run and we had great fun, OTL took us along where the horses walk, so, there were loads of horse poo for us to sniff. OTL has got this thing about keeping us away from the horse poo, dunno why, it don't smell that bad and it's nice and soft to roll in!

We jumped onto a seat and OTL tried to take some pictures of us, but we kept on looking the other way. Poor OTL was getting all wound up trying to get us to look at him!

A quick look!

Scruffy Holly
When we did look at him, we pulled faces and tried to look scruffy, which wasn't difficult for Holly!

My Best Side?
We stopped at the Swimming Hole and had a drink. Just as we were doing that, a load of other doggies came down and we had a splash about, well Holly did, I just kept out of the way!

The 'In' place to be!
There was one show off who was swimming out to get her ball, but to start off she just had to do a big jump and belly flop, causing a Big Splash!

Show Off!

....and now a submarine!
OTL could see some rain clouds on the horizon, so we headed back to the car. On the way back we saw a little 'Sausage' dog. She was called Frankie, only six months old, Holly said that Frankie was short for Frankfurter, a sort of German sausage, and that's why they call them sausage dogs!

I said they called her Frankie 'cos it was a nice name and any way, she didn't sound German  when she woofed!

Frankie & Us!
On the way back to home, in the car, OTL was playing some Bob Dylan music. There was one song that had rhyming words like Gloom, Room and Soon. We liked this Ooo'ing, so we joined in the song, going Ooo, Ooo, Ooo all the way home! OTL thought it was great fun!

Maybe we will go out for an adventure tomorrow, now that will be fun!

See you soon.

Wet walk in the park

Yo Ho Woofers!

D&H back with you again.

What a damp day it has been today, we got a dry walk first thing this morning but it seems that every time we stick our heads out of the door, we get wet!

Half way through the morning we decided we wanted a wee in the garden, out we went and it was one of the quickest trips I've ever had!

Lunch time Old Two Legs had to deliver some stuff, so we made a dash for the car and off we went. The windscreen wipers were slapping back and forth every so often, so the rain wasn't very heavy.

Off we went to The New Park and out we fell into the car park, Holly and me rushed into the field and straight away did a wee, well we had gone a long time without one!

It was raining a bit but we decided we should be able to put up with it, well, that was until Holly decided it was getting wetter!

We were walking on the path, behind OTL, and Holly kept stopping and looking back. OTL would call her and she would take a couple more steps towards OTL, stop, look behind her and walk back a couple of steps. Now, you don't need to be too clever to work out that Holly didn't like the rain, she had her wee and now wanted to get back to the car and the heater!

Back we went, well, OTL put us on the lead and we dragged OTL back at a run!

In the car we got a quick rub down with a Highland Tartan Scarf that The Missus sometimes wears. Now it needs a wash before she puts it around her shoulders again!

Back home to a rub down with our own towel then a snooze in the office until we had dried off enough for OTL to give us a brush, we always feel better after a brush!

Tonight we got a real mix for dinner, first of all there was doggy food, mixed with a bit of chicken and then later OTL put some of his gammon steak into our bowls and mixed it up with the doggy food, so by the time we had finished, we had eaten most of the doggy food while trying to get to the chicken and gammon!

OTL took his camera out in the car but left it there when we went walking, so no pictures today!

Tomorrow TM is off to her local crop, so all day with OTL, if it stops raining we may go on an 'adventure', if not, then it may be a hard day sleeping in the day bed!

You have no idea just how tired you can get doing nothing!

Bye Bye for now.

On the Beach again!

Hello to you all,

We're back again!

We had our walk with The Missus this morning and met up with Norrie and her owner Jane. Norrie wanted to know where Old Two Legs was, 'cos she likes him, we said he was at home having a shower. Norrie said that it was something very strange about these two legs, they always want to have showers or baths. It must be because they are afraid to be smelly!

I reckon a good brush down every day is all you need, it gets the little bugs and burs out of your coat and brushes the dried mud off your legs!

OTL was busy in the office again this morning, so we took the time to catch up on our 'after get up snooze', such luxury!

I did have a look out the window when the postman called and woofed a hello to him, but it was raining and he didn't look up at me, so we think he wanted to get home quickly!

Holly was on guard duty and alerted us to his arrival, HA!
She was zonked out on the floor, snoring like OTL!

Holly being Alert!
OTL says that if she was any more alert he'd swear she was alive! Well, I thought that was so funny I nearly laughed my tail off!

Daisy gets the joke!
Soon after that we piled into the car and OTL took us out for a walk along the Sea Wall, which was OK 'cos it was still raining a bit and we didn't want to get soaking wet!

A quick run along the Sea Wall
We were going so fast that we left OTL behind and he hid down one of the stair wells. We were a little worried in case he had got lost or had fallen into the sea, but Holly found him and woofed him to 'Keep Up'!
Keep Up OTL!
We don't want any dawdlers on our run!

The afternoon was spent chewing rawhide and sneaking onto OTL's bed. One time he caught us and I tried to look all innocent and wistful, but it didn't work and he chased us off and made us take the rawhide off the bed as well!

Me looking Wistful. I do Wistful as well as Cute!
Tonight we think there is liver for dinner and together with a couple of chewy biscuits followed after with a knobbly end of OTL's Twiglets, plus what we can mug from their dinner, we would have done OK!

See you tomorrow.

Hissing Sid Rools!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here again.

Yesterday Betty Boo was talking about her Mum dreaming about an adder, well, OTL tells us that when she was a little girl, they had a really big grass snake that would swim in the pond and sun itself on the garden rockery.

She called it Hissing Sid 'cos every time anyone got near, it would start hissing, trying to make itself look all big and dangerous!

We've been very good puppies today, Old Two Legs has been very busy doing his 'day time job' as he calls it.

There was loads of banging and thumps going on in the office as he's making stuff. Then he's been pacing up and down waiting for the postman to call, but he didn't.

Suddenly, it was, throw everything in the car and rush off to one of his suppliers who has let him down on deliveries, so he had to call on them to get replacement bits or something.

All this means we didn't get our lunchtime adventure!

We were with OTL when he finally got all the deliveries done and he had been promising us a good long run, at the New Park!

Our normal run around is about a mile long, around the swimming hole, up to see The Guardians and back again.

This time we got to the Swimming Hole and went onto the Orchard walk, which is over two miles long!

We ran and jumped and ran some more and by the time we got back to the car, I reckon we had done three and a bit miles of walking and running!

OTL didn't bring his camera this time, so you've missed out on me and Holly in the Swimming Hole, up to our tummies in the water, us chasing a rabbits across the field where they grow the young trees and Holly chasing a Big Magpie off the apple tree.

Holly says that they would have made great pictures!

So, we are looking forward to tomorrow and have asked to go to the New Park again for another runs and a swim!

The only problem is, there is loads of grass pollen in the air and poor OTL comes back sneezing fit to bust!

I hope it's better for him tomorrow!

Bye bye for now.

Photographing Poppies

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with you again.

It's been a warm day today, we've had a fun time chasing around the garden and then woofing at the postman.

The Missus was up early this morning, seems she had a dream about a card last night and wanted to start on it before she forgot her dream!

I do that sometimes, but it's food I dream about and there's never any there when I wake up!

We had a cuddle with Old Two Legs and moved off to the day bed for a snooze, before going out for a walk across The Fields. We didn't meet anyone, so we reckoned we were either too early or too late!

Lunchtime we went off with OTL to The Farm so he can try his hand at photographing plants using his new Plamp.

Well, there was OTL, camera on the tripod, head down looking into the camera and kneeling down in the field. So, Holly decided that OTL's lap would be a super place for a cuddle and climbed up! Me, well, I decided that the best place was to climb onto OTL's camera bag and have a snooze while he waited for the wind to stop blowing.

Poor old OTL, he suffers from hay fever which makes him sneeze every time he gets close to grass or flower pollen. Now just imagine his attempts to photograph a 'Floppy Poppy'.

He set up the tripod and gets the camera set up and waited for the wind to drop, it dropped enough for him to press the shutter but just at that moment he sneezed one of his big sneezes and blew the flower into a wobble. Then the wind came back and blew the flower back again the other way. Then the wind dropped and just as he was about to press the shutter, he sneezed again, the flower wobbled again.

And so it went on, sneeze, blow, sneeze, blow, blow, sneeze. Poor flower was in danger of getting stalk fatigue!

He managed to get some pictures but I think he needs to go back and try again when the wind drops!

Standard Poppy

Purple Poppy
I think he has a lot more practise to do, maybe he should stick to plastic flowers to begin with!

We got some turkey tonight mixed with some doggy food and OTL has promised us a brush before going to bed!

We were all down stairs watching Countrywise on the TV and there was a bit about Gun Dogs. As soon as I saw them I was up on my feet woofing and grumbling at them. Holly,  hearing me woofing an grumbling started woofing in support, trouble was, she didn't know what I was woofing at, so she ran around the room woofing at everything!

I don't think she can see the TV screen very well, but then, I can't see distances very well!

So, we will be back tomorrow and who knows, OTL may try the flower thing again, if he stops sneezing!

Bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

We've been Mucky Puppies!

Hello to you all,

D&H back again on windy Monday!

We didn't get up until late today, that long F1 race yesterday had us on the edge of our seats all evening long and the final lap was amazing!

Good 'ole Jenson, at last he has got a bit of luck come his way for a change, position 21 when it restarted for the last time and he made it to the first across the line, wow!

Holly and me were talking about it late into the night, so that's why we were late in getting up this morning!

After our walk we spent most of the morning in our 'day bed' having a gentle snooze while OTL got on with sorting out a load of slide photographs from his dads collection. Most were of holidays his mum and dad took but there were some of OLT when he was a young man, that must be soooo long ago!

The Missus was talking about having an evening of showing these and wanted to know who would be buying the popcorn!

It will be interesting to see OTL with a full head of hair!

We had a good run at lunch time, all along the Sea Wall and along the beach.

Full Speed

We met up with couple of woofers we had met before and Holly got into trouble 'cos I was caught sniffing the tail of one !

In Trouble Again!
We had just had a run along the beach and I sort of 'wandered' into the muddy bit that is left after the tide goes out!

Mucky Me!
Well, as you have guessed, when we got home I was put in the kitchen sink and got washed all over my legs and my tummy!

When OTL had finished it was fun having a rush around the garden with Holly and pinching her rawhide chew. She does get so possessive about that chew!

The rest of the afternoon was spent catching up on our snoozing before dinner. Liver and nibbles with any luck!

How to Snooze with Style!

Zonked Out
Do we know how to snooze or Wot!

See you all tomrrow we are planing to try The Farm so OTL can try his Plant Clamp!

Bye bye for now.

Luv,
Daisy & Holly(Washed & Brushed!)

Sunday in a new Forest

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here again.

After yesterdays fun and games and late to bed, you known we didn't wake Old Two Legs up until seven this morning! Half the day's gone already!

We had a look at the photos he took and decided that next time we are going to go with him to see Alun 'cos they all look well fed, so there must be loads of food there!

It was Alun's birthday and also Olwyn's birthday, so there must have been loads of food!

You know, Aluns nearly as old as OTL, and that's very old, but looking at the photo he doesn't look nearly as old as OTL!

Happy Birthday Alun!
We went out with OTL down to the rubbish dump and got rid of some more bits TM had decided to throw out and we expected to go onto The Farm, but OTL said we were going to Trosley Park, a place we had never been to before, Ooooh an exciting new place!

Well, as we got closer there were loads of speed bumps in the road, up and down, up and down, up and down, now I don't do sailing and these speed bumps upset me. In fact I was so upset, I was sick all over OTL's leg. I just threw up over his thigh and it started to run down the inside of his leg, so, he formed his hand into a cup and caught most of it. Then he still had to park the car, using just one hand to do the steering! When we finally stopped, Holly and me were all excited and were jumping all over OTL trying to get out the door, the same door he was trying to get out without spilling my present to him!

We all fell out of the door, OTL wiping his leg clean, Holly and me running around the car park, (only two other cars there)!

OTL had some serious hand wipes in a plastic bucket in the back of the car and was able to clean himself up before charging after us down the path to the woods!

Another pile of logs!
The park was all hills and while it was OK going down, you had to go back up again on the way back!

A long way up!
We had a super run and when we got back to the car park, OTL brought us a sausage each from the tea van in the car park. It was a Frankfurter type of sausage that he broke in half and then held it up for us to take.

Only we didn't, we just sort of took bites out of it while he held it for us!

Best thing was, he did the same with the second sausage!

When he finally got around to eating his own sausage in a roll, we tried to mug him for a bit!

As he said, that one was his, we could go and whistle if we thought we were going to get any!

We tried whistling but all that happened was we blew raspberries!

Clever, these Two Legs!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

P.S.

Betty, it is OK for your milk teeth to drop out, you'll grow some new ones. Just make a fuss, get them to buy you some rawhide chews and let them know that you expect the Tooth Wolf to visit you and leave some new treats!  xx D&H

Rainy Saturday

Hi All!

Daisy & Holly here again.

Saturday was a funny day, sort off. Well I got up good and early and jumped onto the bed to say 'Good Morning' to Old Two Legs, you know, paw on the cheek and a good wash of the ear and bald patch on top of his head. I thought it was the best way to wake him up at five thirty in the morning.

He went all 'Grumbly' and went back to sleep again, so, I wandered over to The Missus and gave her a lick, she went all 'Grumbly' as well. I supose it's because they don't get enough sleep, you know they stay up past ten thirty in the evening!

After getting up and taking us for a walk we were both put in the car, 'walkies' we thought, but no, horror upon horror, we stopped at The Vets, oh no, now what?

We went in and got weighed again, 7.6Kg for Holly and 6.3Kg for me. That Holly is getting porkier by the day, too much food!

Surprise surprise, OTL brought a bag of Doggy Lumps that the vet had recommended on our last (booster injection) visit. That wasn't too bad, we got out of there as soon as OTL had emptied his wallet into their till!

We had our walk down by he Sea Wall and then off we went to see The Boys.

Not only did we have our own food brought by TM but there was a fire in a bucket in the garden and food was being cooked on it. Holly and I managed to mug a lamb chop each plus a few bits of meat from different people around the fire!

We didn't dig too many holes but we had a good chase around the garden!

TM & OTL came and collected us, which was good 'cos we were beginning to wonder where they had gone and how long they'd be!

Back home in time for OTL to get a whisky nightcap and for us to get a nibble of shortbread!

See you all tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly
(both with full tummies)
