Another Frantic Day

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with you again.

You will be glad to know, there have been NO THUMPS today!

So there are no birds with sore heads here today!

Old Two Legs took us out first thing this morning and when we got to the fields, we found the farmer was ploughing and there was this terrific sniff of earth and stuff, so we had a good time running around, sniffing, rolling on our backs and chasing each other across the furrows!

We ended up with very muddy paws, so much so, OTL had to walk us through the wet grass at the side of the field just to wash the soil off our paws and legs!

Breakfast was a super freshly cooked chicken and some doggy biscuits followed by a snooze in the day bed while OTL got on with some work!

Later we went out to the football field and had a great game of 'chase the ball', well I did, Holly spent a lot of the time sitting in the middle of the field watching me chase the ball, lazy puppy she is!

Then after another small snoozett, we went out with OTL delivering some stuff, we were getting a bit bored 'cos there was loads to deliver and we had to drive along way as well, but, in the end we arrived at The New Park!

It was super, we started off by saying hello to the Not Not Neddies, not that they even said 'hello' back, I mean, just how rude can you be?

Then we went down to the swimming hole, it was good fun doing some deep paddling, that was until a big Labrador came splashing into the water and pinched our ball!

Hey! That's My Ball!
Well, it wasn't our ball really 'cos we found it by the waters edge where someone had left it, but as we found it first it belonged to us!

I pinched his ball!
Best bit was, when his owner threw his own ball into the water, I rushed in and pinched it!

He was not a happy doggy, he didn't know which ball to chase, Holly and me had a good laugh about that!

After we left the swimming hole, we had a good run through the grass to dry off and managed to bump into a couple of very large poodle type dogs, Holly reckons they looked like Baboons but I said she should keep that to herself!

Dog or Baboon?
That was OK as they weren't too bouncy but they had their mate with them, a young Jack Russell Terrier who fell in love with OTL and kept coming back to have her tummy tickled!

Holly had a quiet word and told her that OTL was ours and it's our tummy he tickles, not hers, so woof off!

ThatsourOTLyourplayinguptosotakeyourcutelooksandwoofoff!
I wasn't so brave with the poodles but then OTL didn't tickle their tummies!

A bit further on we met Bella, a big Alsatian who wanted us to play with her and her ball, it was one of those 'Ball on a Rope' things that went for miles when the Two Legs threw it. Well, when it was thrown she went off after it like a rocket and left us behind. We soon got bored with that game and went back to sniffin the pathway for new sniffs!

Here's a new sniff!
She soon came back and went right up to OTL to see what the clicking thing was he had under his nose.We soon told her it was his camera and that she would be famous 'cos her picture would appear on my blog.

She said 'what's a blog?'

What's with the clicking?
Obviously she was not a 'technodog' like us and we just said it was a Two Leg thing at which point she lost interest and went back to chasing her ball on a rope!

Back home again and this time OTL had finished for the weekend.

The Missus said that we will see Uncle Alun and Auntie Glynis tomorrow, that should be fun, more people to mug!

See you tomorrow!

Daisy & Holly

It's The D&H&OTL Bird Hospital and Flying School!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again to see you.

What a start to the day! Holly was down stairs with Old Two Legs getting her morning brush, when, THUMP!

Yep, it's happening again, another young Goldfinch was on the floor, knocked out after flying into the window!

Holly and OTL got the cardboard box and our towel out again and made a bed for it.

OTL put the box onto the table, facing away from the window and turned around to pick the bird up.

There was Holly, giving the bird a good sniff, 'well' says Holly, 'it sort of smells like chicken but not very strong'!

OTL picked the bird up put it inside the box, on our towel, so it has a warm place to get better.

Out for the count!
A little while later we had another look and although it had not flown away yet, it did seem a little brighter!

Getting better!

All the time I was upstairs sleeping in my day bed, well, after a good chicken breakfast where else did you expect me to be?

Having missed all the excitement, I even missed the bird flying off, but we did see the present it left behind for us!

A Poo'y Present from a Goldfinch!
Lunch time we went out the the Sea Wall and as soon as we were out of the car we dashed around to where the rabbits were, only this time they were having an 'after lunch snooze'.

It was a bit much, after we had got OTL to bring us all the way out to see them!

Yoo Hoo! Mr Rabbit!
We soon got bored looking for them and went of to play 'chase', when I made a terrific discovery!

I found out that if a run down hill, at speed, then make a jump, I can almost fly!

A Low Flying Puppy!
Holly tried doing it as well but couldn't get up enough speed! As she says, she is more of an 'Iresistable Force' when she gets going!

We had Duck & Chicken Puppy Food mixed together with some 'real' chicken!

Not sure if we liked it or not but we did have a chew, just to make TM happy and not feel that she is starving us by feeding us puppy food!

Early to bed tonight, we have had too much excitement today!

See you tomorrow.

Daisy & Holly

No rain and a headache for the Goldfinch!

Hi Woofers!

D&H back with you again!

We have been busy little puppies today, first of all we were up and out for our morning walk with The Missus. She took us over The Fields, and as we had been in doors most of yesterday, we had a load of spare energy to get rid off! It was fun tearing along the paths and over the fields.

A bit later Old Two Legs had to visit the Accountant, so we tagged along and afterwards we went down the Riverside. The tide was out so we had time to have a close look at the 'Rusty Bucket' which has been left on the beach. Holly thinks we should re float it and sail the seven seas as pirates!

Inspecting 'The Rusty Bucket'
We then went further to the Old Fort, well, we call it the Fort 'cos it is the remains of an old building and we pretend it is a Fort!

This time we were attacking the Fort and driving out all the Pirates who had over run the Fort since we were here last!

The Last Pirate!
We go back home to a good lunch of liver and biscuits and a bit of OTL's toast, to be followed by an 'after lunch snoozett', until it was time to go out for our afternoon game on the football field!

We enjoy that run out 'cos we get to chase a ball and each other around the field. Even OTL joins in and tries to chase Holly or me, depending on who has the ball. We sometimes let him catch us and get the ball, well, if we didn't he would start to show off and want to go back home!

We got back after the games and was sitting down watching a bit of television and were all drifting off to sleep when we were awoken by a big 'THUMP' on the window.

Holly and me were both up and woofing in a flash, not too sure of what we were woofing at. Then OTL spotted what had caused the big thump.

It was a young Goldfinch that had flown into the window!

It was on the floor outside the window, all knocked out and not moving and with its eyes closed.

Ouch! That Hurt!
Holly and I were watching it from the window and I said that I should go out and give it a good licking to make it feel better. Holly asked if it tasted like chicken!

Does it taste like chicken?
OTL said that we should leave it for a while to see what happens. Well, I started to get worried and kept pawing at the back door so I could go out and give it a 'get better' lick.

OTL said it would not be a good idea to let me out while the bird was on the ground, so he got a cardboard box and our towel, put the box on its side on top of the garden table and folded the towel so it would fit into the box. He then picked up the Goldfinch and put it on the towel.

He said the bird had its eyes open and struggled a bit when he picked it up, so, there was a good chance it would recover!

What Hit Me?
We were then let out into the garden and Holly and me had a sniff around were it had been on the floor, Holly reckons she could smell chicken!

After dinner, OTL went out to have a look at the bird but it had gone, flown away to join its mates.

OTL said it was a bit much, we had gone to all that trouble to help the Goldfinch and before it flew off, it had done a poo on the towel!

We don't care, just as long as it is able to fly off, then everything is OK by us!

Bye bye for now.

Windy Old Weather!

Yo Ho Me Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here again.

What a windy and wet day it has been!

We got up this morning to the wind blowing the trees and making the tops sway back and forth.

The Missus took us for a walk around the football fields, it was windy and rainy so Holly had a sniff, a wee and did her business, then turned around and rushed back home.

Holly is not a dog to hang about in the rain. I don't mind if there is a ball to chase but Holly, she is an 'indoor dog' when the wind blows!

Next door neighbours garden has a tree where a Collared Dove has built a nest and is sitting on it for most of the day, well it was swaying so much we thought that the bird would get thrown out, but she hung on!

Old Two Legs says they are barmy birds and they are not the same as the other birds, he says they have tried making nests in this tree for the last three years, at the end of August, they spend time sitting on the nest, and never lay an egg!

Well this morning we kept an eye on the bird and she didn't move from the nest at all, even when the rain started and the wind blew some more! You've got to say that she was a brave bird staying there in that gale force wind!

Holly says it must be like the ships out at sea and the wind blowing the waves about and the ship bouncing up and down on the waves. So we played a game pretending that our beds were boats and the waves were tossing the boat about!

Holly says that I sunk, twice!

OTL had to go out to do some work this afternoon, so we stayed in doors with The Missus, all safe in the warm and out of the rain!

When OTL came back we both gave him a big Welcome Home kiss and a lick, from ear to ear and back again!

Sorry there's not photo's today, it has been too wet and OTL has been too busy, but, maybe tomorrow we will get him out with the camera 'cos we know he gets all upset if he can't take any photos!

Bye bye for now and let's hope the wind and the rain go away soon!

Daisy & Holly

Dodging the rain showers.

Hello Woofers!

It's Daisy & Holly here with you again.

Holly and me were late in getting up this morning, even Old Two Legs over slept! The Missus was up early and was doing some gardening out the front of the house, so she didn't take us out for a walk. Instead she left us to snooze and only started making a noise at eight!

Well, that was it, wake up OTL, (the old cold wet nose in the ear followed by a lick on the back of his ear) then we were out over The Fields looking for sniffs and chasing each other across the field.

Just for a change, Holly ran up behind OTL and gave him a shove on the back of his leg, (just like I do) then she held up one paw which is our sign for him to pick us up. She sat on his shoulder and had a good look all around, just to see what was about.

After a few minutes she got down and we had a chase all along the path.

Back home to a liver and chicken breakfast and up stairs for a snooze in OTL's office.

After lunch, OTL had to go out  to do his deliveries and we went with him, of course!

After the first couple of deliveries we stopped off at the New Park, that was great, we can really get a good run going along the path and there is always loads of other doggies to have a chat to!

This time we didn't go by the Swimming Hole 'cos OTL still had deliveries to do and as he says, he doesn't want wet paw prints all over the parcels!

Spoil sport!

It wasn't long before he had finished his work and we found ourselves close to Trosley Park again, so we had a vote and told OTL to 'Go To Trosley!'

As soon as we got there, we were out of the car and charging along the path. We stopped at a path that had a sort of arch type of thing over the path. We had not noticed it before and Holly said she was sure she could hear a rabbit!

I see another Rabbit!
Holly had a quick run down the path but the rabbit had disappeared down his burrow and she could hear him laughing at her!

OTL was looking at some very old Yew trees and he said that they were very old, at least a few hundred years old and that's very old, even older than OTL!

An old Yew tree.
A little way down the path we came across a place that was full of chairs and tables and benches, all looking to one part, OTL said that it was a sort of outdoor stage.

It was called a Theatre  and plays and sing alongs were held there.

The Theatre!
Holly decided to try to act out a play but she kept on forgetting her words, I sang a small song but no one joined in with me, then OTL tried what he called some Shakespeare.

He started off with 'To bee, or not To Bee, that is the Question'

We rolled on the floor laughing, just imagine OTL with a pair of wings and sticking his head into the flowers, especially with his hay fever!

It was then that Holly said we had not listened properly, it was 'To Pee, or not To Pee, that is The Question'!

Com'on OTL, To Pee, or not To Pee!
Well we all had a good laugh about that! We even told TM about it when we got home!

Tonight we had a treat, after our chicken and liver diner, we got a carrot each!

Do we get spoilt or wot!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

I love Sundays!

Hi Woofers!

D&H back again!

A 'BIG WOOFING HELLO' to Jackie from both of us, we hope you enjoy our blog and OTL's photos!

We all got up late this morning, well Old Two Legs, Holly and me that is, The Missus was up at some terrible time so she can catch up on all the television recordings she has made!

We really didn't feel like going out for a walk so TM cut it short for us and we returned home and crashed out on OTL's bed!

OTL gave us our morning brush, you know, I sometimes drift off to sleep when he brushes me! It is sooo relaxing, mind you, the Doggy Choc Drop I get before and after does help to keep me quiet!

OTL was given instructions by TM to take a load of rubbish down the tip, now, we know what is close to the tip, yes, it is The Farm!

So as soon as OTL made move to take the rubbish, we were both in the car and ready before he had loaded the rubbish in the back!

We woofed at a few dogs we saw walking on the pavement, called out we were going for a 'real walk' and how lucky we were!

Soon we were at The Farm, there were so many new sniffs we could hardly walk down the path without stopping!

Here is another sniff!

OTL was calling us all the time!

We heard some Jay's calling from the oak trees where they were collecting acorns for storage this winter.

Holly was keeping a lookout for squirrels, just in case they were collecting for winter as well, but we didn't see any hopping around!

OTL was looking out for more interesting trees but here on The Farm they are mostly young trees, but he did see a 'Mysterious' hole in the hedgerow that looked inviting.

Holly says it's calling out 'Chickens this way!'

Can you see the rabbit?
I thought it was calling 'Rabbits' and I'm sure I saw one blowing a raspberry at us!

When we got to the corn field we found that the crop had been harvested and Holly and me could have a good game of chase all over the field. Normally OTL would restrict us to the path 'cos if we ran through the corn we could do damage to the crop and the farmer would not be happy!

Holly found a super sniff and started to have a roll in it, that was until OTL told her off and made her get up!

Running from a good sniff!
We used to have a good run along a muddy path but during the summer the owners had laid down a new path with what OTL calls 'Road Stone' which makes it good if it gets too wet when the rains come.

A New Path with no Mud!
Back home for OTL to do some 'Manufacturing' which has to be sent on Monday, so we spent time having snoozes and games of chase and mugging TM for some beef from her lunch!

Holly has just pointed out that a Mr Michael Goodes has joined our blog Twice! Holly says he's just being greedy, trying to get two lots of our blog!

Hey! What? Foul! What is this we read? Chris has gone and got another caravan! Great, that means there is more room for a puppy!

OTL did that you know, he got a caravan and equipped it with loads of goodies, then he got me!

Later he got Holly!

So, there hope for you yet!

OTL is still working on 'manufacturing' and his eyes keep going (old age), so he has a rest, then goes back to 'manufacturing', these tiddly soldering connections are not good for him!

We will give him a cuddle tonight, just to make him feel better and a drop of Malt Whisky will help as well!

Bye bye for now.

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

A Warm Day!

Hi Woofers,

We're here again, Daisy & Holly.

It has been a warm day today, we got up at one this morning, woke Old Two Legs up 'cos we wanted a wee.

While we were out in the garden, we found a hedgehog that had wandered into the garden looking for some juicy worms or slugs or snails. Well we had a woof at him until OTL called us back in again!

That was OK, until two in the morning, Holly decided she had a tummy upset and woofed to go out again. So, OTL was down again to let her out. Off she went, flying up the garden to woof at the hedgehog, but it wasn't there, so she went off into the long grass and was there for a few minutes.

That was when OTL saw the hedgehog crawling through the long grass onto the rockery, Holly had missed it all together!

Back we went to bed and fell asleep until eight, a real 'over sleep' for a change.

Both Holly and I were itching on our paws and on our tummy, OTL had a look later in the day and decided we had been attacked last night by some nasty little middgy type things that live in long grass.

He says if it is not any better by Monday, down the vet for us both!

Lunch time  OTL took us down to the Sea Wall and I stuck my nose out of the car window as we went, it was super having the wind blow on my nose!

OTL had put our lead on me to make sure I didn't lean out too far, so I was good and safe!

Wind on my nose!
As soon as we got there Holly and me ran to where I had seen rabbits, but this time they were all hiding in their burrows, I suppose they heard Holly and me come charging along the path!

Yoo Hoo Mr Rabbit!

It was then that Holly saw a notice on a pole, just behind where we normally see the rabbits, Holly reckons they put it there just to keep us out!

Keep Out Doggy's!

We did't think that was very friendly, I mean, all we want is a game!

Well, towards the end of our walk, I'm woofing up a tree at some noisy birds when Holly, with her nose down sniffing, bumped into a rabbit!

On the ground, right in front of her!

Well she was as surprised as the rabbit and wondered what she should do!

She gave a little woof, the rabbit ran off and she went after it like a rocket. Around she went and around went the rabbit.

The pair of them were flying!

It was about then that I saw what was happening and joined in the chase, but the rabbit had decided it was out of breath and stopped running and was laying flat on the ground.

Hang on, I'm out of breath!
Holly and me didn't know what to do next,so we waited until OTL got to us and he said we were good puppies not to hurt the rabbit, then he put our leads on us.

The rabbit was still laying on the ground breathing hard, so we said good bye and left him to go home and tell his mates of the lucky escape!

Out of breath rabbit!
When we got home, we told The Missus all about the rabbit and how good we were not to hurt it and Holly said it didn't smell like chicken, not like the ducks do!

An early night tonight and we have asked OTL if we can go to the New Park tomorrow, after he has done all the gardening!

Bye bye for now.

A Day Working With OTL

Hello Woofers,

Daisy & Holly here again!

We have been very good puppies today, we have been helping Old Two Legs get through all his jobs today.

First of all we decided that he should get up good and early so he can get some work done before it gets too hot, so, at about four this morning we both jumped onto the bed, wrapped ourselves around his head and gave him a 'good morning lick'.

I licked behind his ear and Holly licked his bald patch on top of his head!

You know what?

All he did was give us both a tickle behind our ears and went back to sleep!

We didn't make too much fuss when he finally got up and we asked The Missus to take us out for our morning walk.

On the way back, there was a house with a load of cucumbers outside the door with a notice 'Help Yourself for Free!'

Well TM took one and we went over to see if there were any carrots there, well, you never know your luck!

OTL took us out when he went delivering stuff and we dropped into Trosley Park on our way back. It was super, a long long path with trees shading the path, which was just as well, 'cos it was hot this afternoon!

Shady Path!
We went chasing rabbits and squirrels and monsters, I ended up with a load of seed pods on my nose and head, so OTL had to spend a long time picking them off. Holly was not as bad as me but she had a few on her tail!

The path looked pretty in the sun light and Holly just had to climb up onto an old log and go 'Boo' to OTL just when he was taking a photo! It really messed up his focusing!

Boo!

There were some very old trees there and a few had fallen over in the storms last winter.

An old tree and it looks spooky!
We saw a climbing thingy for the children and OTL challenged Holly to climb to the top, she said that was impossible and the only thing she could do with them was to try some pole dancing!

Pole Dance Holly?
We got back to TM at home, just in time to see the chicken pulled from the oven, all well cooked and crispy, just like we like it!

Trouble was, we were just too worn out to eat it

After a snooze it was a different story!

We have been cuddled up with OTL on his chair this evening and he has given us a good brush to get rid of the nasty seed pods and other stuff, so we look all super smart and clean again.

As it is the beginning of the month, that means we get our anti flea stuff squirted onto our backs, just in-between our shoulder blades, it's all damp and runny for a few minutes and boy does it pong!

Off to bed now, and as the window is open, that means we will hear everyone who walks past. That gives us a good excuse to have a woof at them, mind you, it makes TM a bit grumbly!

However, it does show we are alert and on guard, doing our job!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly (ex pole dancer)

Night Time Japes!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy and Holly back again.

Did we have some fun last night! After a super meal and an 'after dinner snooze' we spent some time watching the TV, well about two minutes, then we fell asleep again!

It was difficult getting to sleep proper 'cos Old Two Legs was not here to tuck us in and tell us a good night story. The Missus is OK but it's not the same, she doesn't tell us a story!

We tried very hard to sleep but kept on waking up. So, Holly says, 'as we're awake, why not let's see who else is awake'!

So, off I went and scratched at the door, like I wanted a wee, TM woke up 'cos she is on 'auto pilot' regarding midnight wee's!

She opened the door and we were off!

First stop is Boss Man & Lady, Yahoo, up on the bed, lick lick, jump up and down, woof woof and off the bed and into The Boys bedrooms, up on the bed, lick lick, jump up and down, woof woof!

Oh boy was that fun, and all the time TM was chasing us!

We love it when she joins in the games!

She also told us it was three in the morning, so, what's the problem?

We were a little late getting up this morning, we just fancied an extra hour or so in bed!

Later we went out for a walk and we met up with a young pup called Sonny, he wasn't too sure of himself, so Holly put him in his place and told him to be a good puppy!

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black, she is the naughtiest I know!

OK, not too close now!
We were off to the lakes later and had some fun chasing the rabbits, although it was a bit of a struggle getting TM to let us off the lead!

Come on! We can see rabbits!
Holly said that rabbits are too fast for her, so she went to try out the sheep dog stuff on the ducks, but none of them would play with her, especially when she asked who tasted most like chicken.

No one put their wing up for that and they all stayed in the water!

Who tastes like chicken? Put your wing up!
It wasn't long before we headed for home, Holly and me made a plan of what we would do to OTL when we got in. I was to lick his ear and Holly was to nibble his nose!

It was good to see him again and tell him of our adventures and of course, cuddle up to him as he has a slurp of his Single Malt Whisky, just to celebrate our home coming!

Mind you, we did have a bit of his shortbread as well!

Ho Hum, an early night tonight just because we are back in our own bed tonight, it's much softer that the one we slept in last night!

Tomorrow's Friday, so we are expecting an 'Adventure' from OTL, maybe a car ride and a long walk, providing the rain stays away!

Bye bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Over to see The Boys

Hi Woofers,

D&H back again, well almost.

We are on a sleep over at The Boys house today.

We left home really early this morning and have been out for walks around the lakes, then we got back and decided to have a little dig in the garden, then we found some of Holly's old toys and dug a hole and buried them again!

A sort of doggy time capsule!

It's a funny sort of day, no Old Two Legs to mug for some shortbread or have a game with our chews or tickle our tummies or give us a morning brush.

Hopefully, we will be back home to see him tomorrow afternoon.

That should give him plenty of time to do his work and get it all sent off to his customers.

Holly reckons we should creep up on him and surprise him with a BIG WOOF and a severe ear licking!

He will then give us a big cuddle as well and a good brushing to get all the garden out of our coats!

Sorry about the no show of photographs, it seems that The Missus doesn't know how to down load the pictures so I can select some showing our day's adventures!

Maybe tomorrow I'll have a look and see what the instruction manual says!

Bye bye for now, we're both off for an early'ish night.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly
