Bullying OTL

Hello Woofers!

It's Daisy & Holly back again.

We have been with Old Two Legs again today as The Missus has been out all day.

First thing this morning we went for a walk along the Sea Wall, it is great there 'cos we got rabbits to chase and it's fun running along the beach, even if it is shingle and not sand. If it was sand we could dig big holes every day!

Back home again we had breakfast of liver and biscuits then a snooze before woofing at OTL that we wanted to go for a walk. He was busy working in the office but both Holly and me know just how to get him organised!

I start off by jumping up at the side of his chair, then Holly, from the front room, woofs at a passing bird or something. Then I jump up again and OTL says 'What do you want?' Then Holly woofs some more and OTL goes down stairs to find out what she is barking at, finds nothing and heads up stairs again. By now I'm at the top of the stairs, wagging my tail like mad and giving OTL the old 'Hairy Eyeball'.

The he gets the message and says 'Do you want to go for a walk?' well, that sets me off woofing and by then he's putting his boots on!

Next stop the Football Field where we have a game of 'chase the ball' and woof at the sparrows and starlings on the grass.

When we get back home it's a bite of lunch and a snooze before we start again!

This time it's a trip to the New Park, we raced down to the Swimming Hole and met up with a young lad who was there with his owner.

Can I play?

As soon as OTL threw the ball in the water he ran in and fetched it out! I mean, what a cheek! I woofed at him but it made no difference. That was until he got put on the lead, that stopped his games!

He's got my ball!
We then met up with a couple of Retrievers who were enormous and I got all big and brave and we touched noses. I had nowhere to run to so that was the only thing  could do!

Hello little girl!

Holly and me met a couple of Yorkie's who were about our size, so, me and Holly didn't mind saying hello to them!

It's the Yorkie Lads

OTL is messing about with his fungi photo's and we asked him what he learnt over the weekend. He said it was all to do with Reciprocity Failure and Depth of Field. Holly said she knew what he was talking about and it was to do with Chicken Tails, but as far as I was concerned, he was talking from under his tail!

Still, they look pretty!

Fungi #6

Fungi #7
Holly says they are poison and OTL is messing with dangerous plants!

We will have to make sure he washes his hands!

Bye bye for now, dinner is on the table, OTL's dinner that is!

Monday with OTL

Yo Ho Woofers!

All is well with the world of Daisy & Holly, He's Back!

It was good last night having Old Two Legs back with us, well, The Missus don't drink whisky or eat short bread, so we missed out on our nibble of shortbread when OTL has a slurp!

You just don't realise how you can miss these little things!

We got a good nights sleep last night, no worrying if OTL was OK and if he was getting fed properly, like he does at home.

We also found out that as OTL is a bit over six feet, his feet normally hang out of the hotel beds, so he ends up with cold feet during the night and yes, he was suffering from cold feet! Also, the single bed had a duvet that covered the bed but when he got in bed, the duvet kept wanting to slide off, so all night long he was waking up to find the duvet and rub his feet so they got warm again!

He should have taken us and then we could have given him a cuddle and warmed his feet!

We had a look at  some of his pictures and Holly pricked up her ears when he said that one was called a Turkey Tail and she asked if it tasted like chicken!

That's the trouble with Holly, so predictable!

Here is some of the photos he took.

Fungi #1
Fungi #2
Fungi #3
Fungi #4
We thought the best photo was of some of the group trying to photograph a fungus half way up a dead tree. Holly thought the caption should read,

'Go on, Jump, I've got the net and we've got two cameras, just in case I miss!'

Go on, Jump!
On the second day, Sunday, after everyone had shown their pictures and had been praised or criticised, OTL learnt a few things and managed to produce this one.

Fungi #5
He said it was a 'Amanita citrina' or False Death Cap, so we will stay away from anything that looks like that!

We went out this afternoon to the Riverside Park, which was great as the tide had come in and we could woof at the gulls!

Tonight OTL was given a curry, which is one of his favourite meals, next to a Fillet Steak or a Chinese with all the trimmings or may be a steak and kidney pie or a Donner Kebab or sausage and chips or maybe a Kofti Kebab with two pieces of Pitta Bread!

In fact, we think OTL is a bit like us, if it tastes good, eat it!

So, we tried to mug a bit of curry from him tonight but all we got was a bit on Naan Bread dipped into the curry gravy!

Back to the shortbread!

See you tomorrow.

Guess who is back!

Hello Woofers,

Daisy & Holly here!

Guess who is back?

Yes, it's Old Two Legs back from his weekend away!

He didn't get back until half past eight and by the time we had licked him clean of all that Norfolk dust it was too late to tell yo all what has happened today, so we will have to do it tomorrow!

Now we're off to give OTL another lick and a cuddle and hear what he has been up too!

See you tomorrow!

A night without OTL and a visit from The Cat Woman!

Hi Woofers,

Daisy & Holly here once more!

It was strange last night, not having Old Two Legs here to make sure we got our last wee before bed.

No OTL to tuck us in and tell a bedtime story!

What was worse, no OTL to wake up with a lovely lick and get a snooze with first thing in the morning!

The Missus will have to do, but she doesn't taste the same as OTL!

We got our walk this morning and breakfast of chicken. Did I tell you that last night we had Lambs Heart for dinner? It was new to us and tasted wonderful, another thing to put on the list of 'Good Food'!

Today Auntie Karen (The Cat Woman) came over to help TM make a mess making cards, she brought us both a present which was very kind of her. Well, we sat down to have a chew but then we started to argue over who's chew we were going to chew, that's when we got in trouble, again!

At lunch time we all went for a walk along the Sea Wall and once again we didn't get to meet the rabbits up close.

Then we managed to get TM to take us out over the football field where I chased the ball and Holly chased the stick TM threw for her, so all in all, a bit more exercise!

We are off to bed early tonight 'cos TM will be up first thing in the morning to watch the F1 racing, so I can see us getting an an early morning, after an 'after get up snooze' on the bed!

It's super curling up on Old Two Legs pillow 'cos we can still smell him on the pillow and when he goes to bed tomorrow, he will be able to smell us, unless of course, TM changes the bed clothes!

So, it's good night from both of us and see you again tomorrow.

Daisy & Holly

A New Chicken For Holly

Hello Woofers!

It's Daisy & Holly here with you again via Cromer on The Wash!

Old Two Legs was off this morning after taking us for a stroll along the Sea Wall this morning. We chased the rabbits as normal and as normal, they got away!

Hello Mr Rabbit?
There was a couple of fishermen teaching the worms to swim and a big dog was guarding their fishing rods! We had our walk and got back to the car just before it started to rain, which was good as far as Holly and I were concerned. I mean, I don't mind swimming and getting wet but I would rather not get wet from the rain, it always seems colder and goes straight through my fur!

Back for breakfast of Chicken Doggy Food, no thanks, not unless I'm desperate or starving to death!

A little later there was chicken, cooked just right and served with doggy biscuits, scrumptious!

OTL got all his stuff down and loaded it all into the car then came back to say good bye, Holly and me both gave him a lick, I licked his ear and Holly licked his nose!

Lunch time I had to remind The Missus about our walk and she took us down to the Sea Wall! Holly was going on about how tasty the chicken was this morning and how she wished she could have had more, I said she would explode if she eat any more! Then we both got a whiff of a sort of chicken smell, close, strong but with a more earthy sniff. I stood up on my hind legs, like I do, and had a good look around, then I spotted it.

I smell Chicken!!!
It was a sort of chicken sized bird but all bronze and golden coloured and it had a very long tail. I know it was a long tail 'cos it was pointing towards me!

Off I went after it, like a streak of light, Holly was close behind me and she was STEAMING!

Now it's OK chasing birds and even chickens but when they think you are getting too close, they fly off!

Very bad sports they are and yes, that's what this bird did, off it went into the air, the most enormous male Pheasant I have ever seen, I mean, it would have been breakfast, lunch, dinner and tomorrows breakfast all in one!

I put our lack of success down to an over extended tummy due to the super chicken we had for breakfast, but on the other hand, Holly's failure I put down to her expanding tummy and big bottom!

To add insult to it all, we got covered in burrs chasing that bird and we had to put up with TM picking them out for an hour or so!

Back home for dinner, more doggy food, :-(

OTL telephoned to say he got to the hotel and there are no dogs here, just a big cat who hissed at him! Holly wants to go up there and show that cat what happens when a guest gets hissed at!

We had a chat with OTL and he says he is going to have an early night 'cos he has got to be up early in the morning, which would be no trouble if we were with him!

We are going to cuddle up on his jacket this evening and pretend he is here with us, well, his smell is anyway!

Bye bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

P.S. Max, we have been told that if you do that too often to the cushion, you'll go blind, or then again, it might be deaf?

Autumn is on it's way!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again with you.

It started off this morning being rather cloudy and with the promise of some rain soon. However, that didn't stop Old Two Legs taking us down to the Sea Wall first thing this morning. He said that as it had been raining last night, you can bet the Fields would be all muddy and full of large puddles, the sort we like to jump in!

When we got to the Sea Wall, we surprised the rabbits, 'cos we ran around the bushes and didn't even woof on the way, like we normally do!

There they were, loads of them, far more than we had seen before, they were out having breakfast 'Alfresco'!

Holly and I jumped into the middle of them all and shouted BOO! It may have sounded like a WOOF but we meant the same thing!

That was  it, the rabbits ran off in different directions, it was difficult deciding which one to chase! By the time we picked one they were already disappearing into the brambles!

Still, it was good fun while it lasted!

Back home again for breakfast and a good brushing down from OTL, I especially like the choccy drop before and afterwards, a sort of 'reward' for laying still while he brushes the knots, bits of leaf and burrs out of our fur and makes us look super smart!

We let him get on with his work and enjoyed an 'after breakfast snooze' in his office.

My internal clock went off around twelve thirty and I jumped up against the office chair and gave him my very best 'Wanna go Walkies' look, then a little woof and put my head on the side.

As normal, he asks me what I want and I put my head on the side as well and give him a serious look that is WALKIES written all over my face!

We always play this game and when I see him get his boots from under the desk, I jump up and paw them to say hurry up!

It seemed like it was no time before we landed at the New Park and Holly and I raced off down the path to chase the ball that OTL thrown for us. Then a race down to the Swimming Hole to wait for OTL to throw the ball in the water. This time he didn't, he said it was too windy, to cold to go in swimming, so I had to make do with a paddle instead!

This Autumn stuff is really boring, I mean, can't go swimming, can't roll in the mud, can't stay out in the wind, can't dig in the garden and all OTL wants to do is take pictures of trees where all the leaves are dying, I mean, just how dopey can you get?

Holly says this is Lat 51, 18N Long 0, 16E
OTL is off on his course tomorrow so I won't have the laptop computer to do this blog, so what I'm going to do is telephone OTL in the evening and tell him what has been happening and he will have do the typing. So watch out for spelling mistakes 'cos he's not very good at spelling and he won't be back until Sunday!

So, Holly and me are going to give him a big cuddle tonight while we mug him for some shortbread!

Bye bye for now.

Daisy & Holly

High Diving Daisy!

Yo Ho Woofers!

It's Daisy & Holly back with you again.

After we were such good puppies yesterday, guarding Old Two Legs against all those people, he decided to give us a treat for being so professional!

Well, actually, what he said was.......'WALKIES'

Which was good enough for us!

He piled us into the car and off we went to the Sea Wall. Of course, when we got there, we were straight around to see the rabbits and this time we sneaked around the bushes and saw them having a nibble of some grass. 'HELLO' we shouted and rushed over to where they were. Of course, being unsociable sorts, they ran away down into their burrow. We stood outside calling to them but they shouted back that they were not in and for us to 'Go Away'!

We didn't care, off we went for a run along the beach investigating all the new sniffs.

OTL still had his old camera with him but he also had his binoculars with him as well, just to look at the birds. He was telling us how he used this camera and a telescope to take pictures of birds. Then he showed us how by using the binoculars instead of the telescope!

Gulls, a long way away!

Then he took a picture of me on the concrete wall, which again was miles away from where he was!

Me, Sniffin Sniffs!
He's a clever old stick sometimes!

When we got back we had a mountain of chicken for breakfast, I mean it was almost spilling over the side of the bowl!

Holly and I finished that off in no time at all, and, after a game of chase around the lounge, we settled down to a good 'after breakfast snooze'

That took us up to lunch time, a few nibbles of dry doggy biscuits and it was off out to the New Park!

We played 'Chase the Ball' and said 'Hello' to a couple of Westies and arrived at the Swimming Hole, OTL did his ball throwing bit for me and I had great fun getting the ball back, that was until OTL did his 'Let's chuck it a bit further out' trick.

I tried to get it but it was just too far out, so I waited for the wind to blow it towards the shore, which it did, but at an angle. So there I was, just out of grabbing distance of the ball before the bottom disappears down to the centre of the earth. What was I to do? So I got ashore and climbed onto the rocks by the side of the water, got all big and brave, and jumped in!

I missed the ball and found my self in deep water paddling like crazy for the rocks! It was a little bit of a struggle to get back out again but in the end I managed it and stood there soaking wet from the tip of my nose to the tip of my tail, and all bits in between!

OTL said I was a brave little puppy and he got the ball back for me.

We had a good game of 'chase the ball' and in no time I was dry again except for my back, which OTL gave a good towelling when we got back to the car.

I was showing off a bit to Holly on the way back home pretending to do my dive again and I said I was like a mermaid, she said I looked more like and old wet sack, and that's when we got told off by OTL for fighting in the car!

Another fun day and I'm going to ask OTL if we can go there again tomorrow, just to try another dive!

Bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy (The Mermaid) & Holly (Who isn't)

We've been guarding OTL today!

Hello all you Woofers!

It's D&H Guarding back again.

We've been helping Old Two Legs today. You see, he has been very busy with his bits of paper, putting them into piles and then moving them onto other piles of paper and also putting the bits of paper into envelopes and the posting them.

He always gets upset when people come knocking on the door or try selling stuff on the telephone.

Today we have been looking out of the window and woofing at anyone who comes down our front path. So far we have woofed at the postman, (he's nice really), someone delivering advertising paper that OTL throws straight into the waste paper bin. Then there was the lady with loads of children, we woofed at her not to leave any of them on our door step. You see, children are OK normally but they do get noisy and make a mess and OTL doesn't like a mess, unless he makes it!

Then we woofed at the man who came to read the gas meter, he always makes a noise so we woofed at him to 'Be Quiet'! Then there was the next door neighbour sweeping the path, we woofed at her to be quiet as well, all that scrapping of broom bristles along the path makes a terrible racket!

Around lunch time, OTL said that we were going for a walk 'cos we were woofing so much doing our job that he needed a rest, poor thing!

Off we went to the Sea Wall where we ran along the beach, woofing at the Sea Gulls and the Oyster Catchers who where making a racket 'cos the tide was right out!

We got back home again and had a light lunch of some dry doggy biscuits 'cos we didn't fancy the doggy food The Missus had left for us this morning.

The afternoon has been spent guarding OTL again against the birds who were fighting over the peanuts in the feeders and the collared doves who were practising for the football match they are going to on Saturday. They are not playing but they like to lead the chanting, Uuu-Nigh-Ted, Uuu-Nigh-Ted, Uuu-Nigh-Ted. Only problem is, they don't sound as though they are enjoying it, in fact they sound right miserable!

We had a run in the Football Field and Holly had a woof at an old Labrador who was walking on the other side of the hedge, that was until he woofed back, at that point she ran back to OTL, stood behind him and woofed some more!

Tonight we got chicken for dinner, which is a lot better than tinned doggy food!

OTL has cleaned all his camera gear and his lenses ready for going away on a course, so all he has got is an old camera he had a long time ago. We tried taking pictures with it yesterday but it takes so long to take a picture that it sometimes goes wobbly!

The only type of picture is a flash one when we are sitting still waiting for the flash!

Having a break from Guarding!
See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Another Sunny Monday

Hello Woofers!

Here we are again, Daisy & Holly.

It has been a sort of lazy day today, we over slept again this morning and didn't get up until eight thirty when Old Two Legs called us for a walk! We didn't even fancy a walk over The Fields, so we just wandered around the Football Field. I had a chase of the ball but Holly decided even that was too much and sat there, in the middle of the field, just looking at the birds!

Around mid morning OTL said he had some stuff to go to the carriers and asked if we wanted to go for a walk along the Sea Wall.

I mean, does Holly like chicken, is the Pope catholic?

Of course we do!

I had great fun leaning out the window with the wind bowing through my fur and all over my nose.

Cool Nose Daisy!
Holly just stayed laying down on the seat and letting the air blower in the car ruffle her fur!

We did our normal leap from the car and rushed around the corner to catch he rabbits off guard again, but when we got to the burrow there was another notice pinned up, it read:-

'Gone out for the day again, please leave two pints of milk and a can of carrots'

We thought that was a bit mean, going off for the day without telling us. We might have wanted to go with them!

Having a sniff, just in case!
We decided that we should check out the bushes, just in case they were trying to trick us, but we didn't smell them at all.

Back home for some lunch and a snooze on the bed, then a woof at OTL to take us over to the Football Field. Sneaky old OTL, this time he took two rubber balls with him, one to throw so I can chase it and the other so Holly could have a wander after it. Holly doesn't do ball chasing, she has never got the hang of running after a ball!

So, OTL kicked the ball towards Holly and it was just a few inches away, well, as they say, 'A picture tells a thousand words'

I said.........'Go Away'
You know, I have never really understood how Holly, being my sister, doesn't get the same fun out of ball chasing as I do.

Even when it is thrown at her paws, all she does is laugh!
If you want it, come and get it!
Now, if it tasted of chicken, or liver or OTL's Choc Chip Cookie biscuits, now that's a different story!

Tonight we are going to watch the latest 'Pirates of the Caribbean' so I've up loaded the blog early!

I can see us playing pirates tonight before we go to bed, Captain Daisy and 'Orrible 'Olly off for another adventure, jumping all over OTL's bed!

Bye bye for now, see you tomorrow!

Luv

Daisy & Holly

Oh We do like to be beside the Seaside!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again.

We were up really early today, around three thirty, you see I wanted a wee and so did Holly, so we did our 'We want a Wee' woof and Old Two Legs let us into the garden.

That meant we were late in getting up and The Missus had to wake us up for our morning walk!

After some breakfast, we set off in the car to the sea side!

It was super, the sun was shining and not a cloud in the sky. Before too long Holly and I were jumping up and down in the car 'cos we could see the sea. What was even better, we could see loads of sand as well!

OTL parked the car and got our lead on and walked us over the the Pay & Display machine to buy a parking ticket. Now normally this makes OTL very angry, he mumbles and curses and says rude words as he puts money in the machine but this time, the machine just threw his money back at him!

A little investigation showed that the machine was broken!

We had a wander around the car park but could not find another machine!

OTL was a happy little Two Legs,

FREE PARKING!

That was it, TM was out of the car and we locked it up and went down to the beach.

OTL pointed out a notice that said doggies were not allowed on the beach until after the thirtieth of September, we that was OK, it's the second of October

Yahooooo!

Off we went and in no time at all we were in the sea, well splashing in the puddles, Holly even found one of her own!

Holly in her own Puddle!
Then we both rushed out to the sea, it was wet, salty and warm! Even Holly had a deep paddle! I didn't go swimming 'cos you would need to go out much further and we didn't want OTL to worry!

Having a Deep Paddle!
We were running and jumping and chasing the ball all over the place, along the sand and over the sea weed!

You know, we even got TM to come in for a paddle but she said that it was too shallow for her to have a swim!

TM Having a Paddle with us!
We met up with a number of other dogs enjoying a run on the sand or swimming in the sea, one was called Jasper and he is just like our Dad, a Bichon Frise and Maltese Terrier cross. We had great time chasing each other and when it got too hot and sticky, we just collapsed into a deep puddle!

Hang on, Jasper's too hot!
After while we said good bye and headed off to the car park for a drink and a dry off.

OTL gave TM some money and whispered in her ear and off she went with a big grin on her face. We weren't too sure what they were up to, until TM came back with three ice cream cones piled high with ice cream, you know, the soft creamy stuff!

Well Holly an me set to licking one like it was going out of date, OTL and TM were doing the same with theirs.

It was LOVELY!

In the past it has just been OTL and me licking the ice cream, he would lick one side and I would lick the other!

But this time Holly and me had one of our own!

We headed home and both of us slept most of the way back. When we got back in we had another snooze before dinner and one after!

So tonight we are going to bed, both very happy puppies and worn out!

And now, by popular demand, at enormous expense and violation of the copyright wot belongs to Old Two Legs, here is.........................

A Power Station Picture

See you tomorrow!
