Mid Week Again!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly with some more goings on!

Just a moment ago it was Saturday and here we are Mid Week!

Brrr, it was cold last night! Old Two Legs chucked us out into the garden for a quick wee before bed and I am sure I could smell a frost in the air!

Needless to say, the wee was quick and the return to the house even quicker!

It was OK this morning, no sign of frost on the grass, just a bit colder than normal. We got OTL up early by the old Ear Lickin' trick, me in one ear and Holly in the other!

Once again we were off to the Sea Wall!

Rabbit Hunting!
As normal, no rabbits! We did find a Two Legs sitting on the steps trying to read a newspaper. Now normally we wouldn't think that was strange, however, in this case the wind was blowing the paper all over the place and this TL couldn't keep it flat! Holly and I had a good laugh over this!

A Paper in the Wind!
We also saw a flock of Brent Geese flying overhead and Holly says that if you joined up all the geese they would look like a flying Sausage Dog! Typical Holly, always thinking of food!

Flying Sausage Dog!

On our midday walk, we went to the Sea Wall again and saw one of these strange TL who go rescuing worms from the mud flats. So we stood and watched him go out across the mud. He had Wellington Boots on but kept sinking into the mud and we were waiting for him to sink in so far that it came over his boots, but it didn't and we soon got bored!

Off to rescue the worms!

Along the wall came Barney, no relation to the rabbits, he is only eight months old and Holly gave him a woof, then he chased us around and we all had a sniff as well!

Hello Woofer!
Barney didn't want to leave us 'cos he was having so much fun but his owners called him and walked off, Barney went running after them, then came running back to us, then ran after them again, then ran all the way back to us before running back to them again!

Wot a softy dog!

Chicken for dinner tonight with a little bit of rice and OTL has got gammon, so we will mug a bit of that off him as well!

We do dine well!

See you tomorrow, OTL's off at the crack of dawn so The Missus will be taking us out for a walk, we hope her cold is gone by then, she makes such an awful sniffing sound and it puts you right off your own sniff!

Bye Bye for now!
Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here with you again.

We had some rain last night, loads of it, woke The Missus up, Old Two Legs just snored all the way through the storm!

So, this morning we were sleepy puppies, we jumped onto OTL's bed and curled up for our second snooze of the day!

OTL finally got up and we went off to the Sea Wall, we're getting used to this walk with OTL, more interesting than running around The Fields!

Holly spotted a family of swans flying over head and just sat there licking her chops, I thought 'I bet I know what she was thinking!'
A Big Chicken for Holly?
Along the wall we met a Westie we had met before but we could not remember when, I hate it when I can't remember names!

Yo Girls!
We had a little game of  'Chase' with me as the one who gets chased!

It was OK 'cos I managed to out turn him and he was a lot slower than me anyway!

After a few minutes his owner called him away to carry on with his walk.

See Ya Girls!
You know, we didn't even ask him his name!

Back home for a chicken breakfast, super! The best food we've had for twenty four hours, TM has been serving up Tinned Doggy Food, a total waste of time, we prefer chicken, love chicken and want chicken!

OTL managed to get some work done while we were having our 'After Breakfast Snooze' but it didn't last to long. Internal clocks went off and we decided it was time to have another run down the Sea Wall, I mean, we might just sneak up on that Ginger Tom!

No such luck, no Rabbits, no Ginger Tom, No One!

Holly did suggest that we go for a run on the mud but OTL told her that we would be given a wash down with the hose pipe and that would happen after we had walked all the way home on account that he was not going to have a smelly puppy in the car!

Let's play Muddy Puppies!
We got down the wall a bit further and saw the boats that OTL had done some work on earlier this year. They are the ones that are laying all the cables for the Wind Turbine Farm out in the Thames Estuary, just off Herne Bay.

Turbine Barge and Boat.
When we got closer to the car we saw a butterfly OTL said was a Red Admiral, so Holly said 'Hello Sailor' but the butterfly didn't say anything, it must have been looking for somewhere out of the wind!

It was only when we looked closely that we discovered it had been attacked by a bird. It had beak shaped lumps out of its wings and it only had one antenna!

Battle Scars!
OTL says he is glad that the birds are all smaller than him and he was safe from these dinosaurs, then he explained how the birds are believed to be the descendants of dinosaurs!

Holly said that there were no birds going to get her and were chickens a sort of dinosaur? OTL said 'Remember the Sea Eagles', and yes chickens were a sort of dinosaur.

'Good' said Holly, 'cos I really fancy a big dinosaur for dinner tonight!

Some things never change!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly (Give me a Dinosaur tonight TM and don't forget the biscuits!)

Double Decker Doggy!

Hi Woofers!

It's Daisy & Holly here.

This morning The Missus got up early, so we took the opportunity for an early morning wee, then straight up to Old Two Legs, who was still fast asleep in his bed and we joined him for an 'after wake up snooze'.

That was until TM started banging drawers and cupboards and generally crashing about!

Poor OTL, he was forced to get up and take us out for our morning walk!

We went around to the Sea Wall and failed to find and rabbits. We would have expected them to have come back from visiting Uncle Barney by now!

So, it was down to the beach for a jog along the wall and do our business. Now we normally like to spread it out a bit, you know, I do it first and in about half an hour Holly leaves a little pile for OTL to pick up. However, this morning we both did it almost next to each other and at the same time.

This pleased OTL 'cos that meant he only used one poo bag, thrifty is our OTL!

Then he walked up to the poo bin to get rid of the well full poo bag.

We got the wrong reason for him deviating off the normal route and thought he was cutting the walk short but just as we were getting concerned, back he comes down the path.

Now, he thought that it was funny seeing the worried look on our faces and took this photo, as he says, we look like a Double Decker Doggy!

Double Decker Doggy!
OTL spotted a Wheatear bird having a feed on some grubs in the grass, so we rushed up to tell the bird that he should stay still until his photo had been taken, all the bird said was 'Damn Paparazzi', and flew off!

Paparazzi hating Wheatear!
Y'know some birds just don't deserve to be photographed!

As we got closer to the car, OTL put our leads on so that we don't bump into any cars in the car park. Holly spotted it first, there on the other side of the picnic area we saw a big old pussy cat. Trouble was, we had the lead on so that blew our chances of a good 'Cat Chase'!

It just sat there, licking it's chops and pulling faces at us. Holly told it to be careful because we weren't always on the lead but it just sat there being cheeky!

It yawned then shouted to us that we would have to get up early to beat 'Old Tom', from that we worked out that his name was Tom.

Old Tom
Holly called back that the next time we came across him she'd close his other eye for being a saucy cat!

Back home to a breakfast of 'Tinned Doggy Food', not our favourite food, why can't we have chicken or liver or lambs heart or minced lamb and grated carrot or better still, some of OTL's steak?

I thought our luck was in last night when we got some of the chicken stew that TM didn't finish, it was wonderful mixed in with our doggy biscuits!

Most of the afternoon was spent snoozing in my bed, both Holly and me squeeze into it but Holly would rather have all of it to herself and when I try to get in she does her 'Grumble' which attracts OTL's attention and he tells her to 'Shove over' and 'Don't be a Grumbly Puppy'!

It always works!

Mid afternoon I get the 'I fancy a run around' feeling, so a jump up and shove the back of OTL's chair gets his attention. I give him the old 'Hairy Eyeball' treatment and before long we are in the car and back down to the Sea Wall again.

We decided on the Sea Wall 'cos the clouds had come over all grey and rainy looking, plus Holly and me could smell rain in the air, a bit up country but rain all the same!

Stormy Clouds
We were trotting along the wall and spotted some Brent Geese flying across the water, heading for their feeding ground for the night

Brent Geese in a line!
As usual, Holly said out aloud, 'I wonder if they taste like chicken?'

She is so predictable!

Bye bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

The Missus is Snotty!

Hello Woofers,

Daisy & Holly back with you.

We had a super time last night and managed to get everything cleared up before The Missus got home!

We were not a lively as normal and I put it down to a late night and too much singing! Old Two Legs says for him, it was a slurp too far!

We went down to the Sea Wall again and this time OTL came with us to see the rabbits but they were still away down Uncle Barney's place. So we had to make do with chasing the sparrows of the bushes. They are not as much fun as rabbits and they make so much noise!

We had a run on the beach but as the tide was right out OTL kept us off the mud, which was OK 'cos the mud looked especially yucky and smelly!

Look Mud!
We went on a bit further and there was a seagull sitting on the end of the breakwater, laughing at us, he was saying that we couldn't catch any birds 'cos we were too slow to catch a cold!

That was a bit much, Holly woofed at him and I blew a raspberry as well!

Sid, the Rude Seagull
There was another bird, a rook, having a feed but he was too busy with the shell fish to worry about us! It was interesting to see him pick up the shellfish and throw it onto the concrete so the shell would break open.

Cockle Picking Rook!
TM came back mid morning, but she was not feeling very well, she says she has a cold, so after a quick welcome back, we are all staying well away from her in case we get any of her germs!

    Stink Horn (Phallus impudicus)
We were having a sort through OTL's pictures and came across this mushroom, it's called a Stink Horn (Phallus impudicus) and it is smells like rotting flesh! Phew! We reckon it must have been very helpful that OTL's sense of smell is not too good!

Our sense of smell is super, much better than you Two Legs and I can smell dinner being served!

Bye bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Another wekend of fun!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly & the weekend's here again.!

We were out first thing down the Sea Wall to see the rabbits. The tent had gone so we did our creep around the brambles and a last dash to the rabbit holes!

Charge!!!

We absolutely flew down the side of the brambles, Holly was close on my heels and woofing like the Hound from Hell!

They've gone again!

Trouble was, the rabbits had gone to stay with their old Uncle Barney who lives down the coast a bit. It seems that they didn't get any sleep worrying about the Blue Tent and they all got ratty with each other and decided to go see Uncle Barney, just for a rest!

Let's build a sandcastle
We wandered along the beach and Holly suggested we build a sandcastle but forgot we didn't have any spades to dig the sand with, the rabbits had locked up their shovels in the shed so we couldn't get to them either!

Another Mushroom!
OTL showed us a fungi he had not down loaded from his camera, Holly said they looked a funny colour and what were they called, OTL says he didn't know! I mean, what is the good of photographing something you don't know the name off!

Tonight The Missus has gone off baby sitting again so Holly, OTL and me have been sitting on the sofa, drinking and eating shortbread and chewing chews and watching TV. Holly started singing the 'Woofing Song' to try and compete with the neighbours who are having a party!

OTL has told a few jokes about when he was working in a factory and found a Gremlin in the machinery!

It is now well past ten thirty, so we are all going to bed now 'cos we are all yawning our heads off!

Depending on what time we wake up in the morning, we may watch the F1 racing, or see the recording!

Bye bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Friday with a suprise!

Hello Woofers,

Daisy & Holly here again!

We went out with Old Two Legs this morning for our walk and he took us to the Sea Wall. So, we pulled into the car park, all ready for some rabbit chasing, as soon as the door was opened we just flew down the path.

Half way down we both stopped, there was this fantastic sniff coming from a patch of grass and we just had to stop for a serious sniff!

By then OTL had caught up and reminded us that we were chasing the rabbits!

Off we went again and did our normal trick of sneaking up to the brambles and then running flat out around the corner to surprise them.

Only this time it was us who got surprised, there, right where the rabbits normally feed, in the middle of their feeding patch, there was a Bell Tent, with a fire outside the front door flap.

I stopped dead in my tracks, Holly, who hadn't seen the tent, ran into the back of me, cold wet nose and all, lifted my back legs off the ground and shoved me forwards!

When she had stopped as well, we both had a good look at this thing, didn't see anyone, so we woofed at it, turned around and ran back to OTL. Well, you just don't know what was living in that tent, it could have been a visiting Giant Rabbit who didn't like little puppies like us!

Better be safe than sorry and let OTL deal with it if it came out!

Back home it was a super brush to get all the burrs out then chicken and biscuits followed by a snooze!

A bit later OTL took us down to The Forest, which was great, 'cos we haven't been there for some time, so there were loads of new sniffs for sniffin!

With all the leaves on the ground it was great fun sorting out the sniffs!

Sniffin the Sniffs!
OTL had brought his camera gear with him to try photographing the fungi but because it has been so dry this week, there was almost no fungi to be seen. Those we did see were all old stuff and dry and we reckon they were last years anyway!

It didn't stop us hunting around for something to photograph, well, we do like to help OTL with his hobby!

Nuffin Here!
Holly and me went everywhere looking for fungi, we went over the dead trees and under the trees, but it was no good, OTL had to go without his Fungi Photo!

Nuffin here either!
Poor OTL, after lugging his gear around the forest all he could take pictures off were our backsides!

Mind you I did tell Holly that he had to use a wide angle lens for her picture!

That was just before we got in trouble for fighting!

F1 qualifying tomorrow, so we are up good and early for that, off to bed now!

Bye bye to you all and also Max and Dougal!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Hey! Is that Rain I feel on my back?

Yo Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here with you again.

The Missus took us out for our morning walk, it was OK when we went out, heading for the Fields, we got half way around our normal route the rain started, a little spray to begin with, then it got wetter and then it got uncomfortable!

Holly was the first to complain, she sat down on her bottom and said in a loud voice, 'That's it, I've had enough' I must say I felt the same way as well. So, we turned around and started walking back, TM was calling us but we had held our committee meeting and come to a conclusion, Home!

So, in no time at all, not even stopping for the sniffs we missed on the way out, we went straight back to Old Two Legs who was waiting with the Doggy Towel to give us a good rub down and a brush. TM had to rub herself down 'cos she wouldn't wait for OTL to finish with us and also she was making a big puddle on the kitchen floor where the rain was dripping off her nose and chin!

Breakfast was chicken and biscuits, super yummy, 'Tails up, Muzzles down' it was finished in no time!

Off up to OTL's office for our normal 'After Breakfast Snooze'

OTL says we take snoozing to new high level, but I thought we always stayed in the bed!

Expert Snoozers!
That's what I like about living with OTL and TM, we get to learn new skills every day, snoozing, mugging, napping, food taster, sleeping and short bread nibbling!

Life is one long education here!

We are off to bed early tonight 'cos tomorrow is Friday and we plan to go out down the forest, providing it's not raining, to see if there is some more fungi 'cos OTL has got the bug and wants to photograph some more!

Bye bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

P.S. Yo Dougal Mate, we were getting worried about not hearing from you, hope you are well and getting well looked after! Have you seen young Max has his own blog? Trouble is, he has to wait for his Two Legs to write it up for him, he hasn't learnt how to claw type yet, but he's only young and will get the hang of it soon!

Mid week with a Woof!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here with you again.

All of a sudden it is mid week again, it seems like yesterday it was Wednesday, then here it comes again!

It was good to have The Missus back with us again, she has been away every day looking after one of the boys 'cos he has been off school, not feeling very well.

Well today he went back to school and he was not happy about that at all, showed of good and proper!

TM took us out for our morning walk and we had fun running across the fields. Breakfast was chicken and biscuits, one of our favourite meals!

After a snooze we woke up to TM playing games with us, well, she heard us woof at a sparrow who was sitting on the tree in the garden, so hearing us woof, she woofed as well, that started Holly off, woofing 'cos TM's woofing and then I started to woof 'cos Holly was woofing, (always back your sister up when she's woofing!), then Old Two Legs gets up from his office and comes down stairs to see what all the woofing's about and woofs at us!

It was a mad five minutes with us all woofing! In the end Holly and I fell on the floor laughing and wagging our tails, OTL called us 'Potty Puppies' and went back to work!

After our lunchtime walk down by the Sea Wall, we got home and were just thinking of what to order for lunch when TM spots a cat in the back garden.

Oh look, she says, a Cat!

Now we are not too good on the Two Legs habit of pointing with their front legs, you see, us dogs look at which way the nose is pointing and TM was looking towards the front of the house while still pointing her front leg to the back of the house!

As it seemed urgent we went with our natural instincts and rushed to the front window, we quickly realised our mistake turned around and ran to the back door. TM had just opened the door as we got there but as I flew out, I knocked Holly to one side and instead of her jumping through the opening, she tumbled tail over paws out of the door!

I was off after the cat (Hissin Chrissy), who ran around the back of the shed and across the garden and over the fence.

Holly and I were in hot pursuit, I had just reached the fence, looking up to where Hissin Chrissy had gone over the fence, Holly by then was level with my shoulders and bumped into me, I fell over, rolled once and head butted the fence, while still woofing like mad!

Buster, who lives on the other side of the fence had taken the up the chase and pursued Hissin Chrissy across the garden and watched as she flew up and over the brick wall!

It was great fun while it lasted and TM said we were just like the Keystone Cops, whoever they are!

We were having our afternoon snooze when we heard a loud tapping sound coming from the  monitor screen OTL has in his office. We watched a Blue Tit doing some house work, she was clearing out a ton of poo she had left in there last winter when she slept in there every night. She was too lazy to get up and go outside!

House Work!
Who knows, we may get her making a nest next year!

We're off for dinner now, we will have a sniff at ours then run around to OTL and see what we can mug off him. He has sausages tonight, some special sausages he gets direct from the farmer who breeds pigs. They taste wonderful and so does the bacon he gets as well, no nasty white stuff on it and it has a super 'smoky' taste to it as well.

Must stop now 'cos I have started to dribble over the keyboard!

Bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

P.S. Max, try sitting on his lap, right in front of him, when he is trying to do or watch something, then woof at him, in the nicest possible way. He'll get so worried after a while that he will do your blog just to let everyone know what your doing!

Bullying OTL

Hello Woofers!

It's Daisy & Holly back again.

We have been with Old Two Legs again today as The Missus has been out all day.

First thing this morning we went for a walk along the Sea Wall, it is great there 'cos we got rabbits to chase and it's fun running along the beach, even if it is shingle and not sand. If it was sand we could dig big holes every day!

Back home again we had breakfast of liver and biscuits then a snooze before woofing at OTL that we wanted to go for a walk. He was busy working in the office but both Holly and me know just how to get him organised!

I start off by jumping up at the side of his chair, then Holly, from the front room, woofs at a passing bird or something. Then I jump up again and OTL says 'What do you want?' Then Holly woofs some more and OTL goes down stairs to find out what she is barking at, finds nothing and heads up stairs again. By now I'm at the top of the stairs, wagging my tail like mad and giving OTL the old 'Hairy Eyeball'.

The he gets the message and says 'Do you want to go for a walk?' well, that sets me off woofing and by then he's putting his boots on!

Next stop the Football Field where we have a game of 'chase the ball' and woof at the sparrows and starlings on the grass.

When we get back home it's a bite of lunch and a snooze before we start again!

This time it's a trip to the New Park, we raced down to the Swimming Hole and met up with a young lad who was there with his owner.

Can I play?

As soon as OTL threw the ball in the water he ran in and fetched it out! I mean, what a cheek! I woofed at him but it made no difference. That was until he got put on the lead, that stopped his games!

He's got my ball!
We then met up with a couple of Retrievers who were enormous and I got all big and brave and we touched noses. I had nowhere to run to so that was the only thing  could do!

Hello little girl!

Holly and me met a couple of Yorkie's who were about our size, so, me and Holly didn't mind saying hello to them!

It's the Yorkie Lads

OTL is messing about with his fungi photo's and we asked him what he learnt over the weekend. He said it was all to do with Reciprocity Failure and Depth of Field. Holly said she knew what he was talking about and it was to do with Chicken Tails, but as far as I was concerned, he was talking from under his tail!

Still, they look pretty!

Fungi #6

Fungi #7
Holly says they are poison and OTL is messing with dangerous plants!

We will have to make sure he washes his hands!

Bye bye for now, dinner is on the table, OTL's dinner that is!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Monday with OTL

Yo Ho Woofers!

All is well with the world of Daisy & Holly, He's Back!

It was good last night having Old Two Legs back with us, well, The Missus don't drink whisky or eat short bread, so we missed out on our nibble of shortbread when OTL has a slurp!

You just don't realise how you can miss these little things!

We got a good nights sleep last night, no worrying if OTL was OK and if he was getting fed properly, like he does at home.

We also found out that as OTL is a bit over six feet, his feet normally hang out of the hotel beds, so he ends up with cold feet during the night and yes, he was suffering from cold feet! Also, the single bed had a duvet that covered the bed but when he got in bed, the duvet kept wanting to slide off, so all night long he was waking up to find the duvet and rub his feet so they got warm again!

He should have taken us and then we could have given him a cuddle and warmed his feet!

We had a look at  some of his pictures and Holly pricked up her ears when he said that one was called a Turkey Tail and she asked if it tasted like chicken!

That's the trouble with Holly, so predictable!

Here is some of the photos he took.

Fungi #1
Fungi #2
Fungi #3
Fungi #4
We thought the best photo was of some of the group trying to photograph a fungus half way up a dead tree. Holly thought the caption should read,

'Go on, Jump, I've got the net and we've got two cameras, just in case I miss!'

Go on, Jump!
On the second day, Sunday, after everyone had shown their pictures and had been praised or criticised, OTL learnt a few things and managed to produce this one.

Fungi #5
He said it was a 'Amanita citrina' or False Death Cap, so we will stay away from anything that looks like that!

We went out this afternoon to the Riverside Park, which was great as the tide had come in and we could woof at the gulls!

Tonight OTL was given a curry, which is one of his favourite meals, next to a Fillet Steak or a Chinese with all the trimmings or may be a steak and kidney pie or a Donner Kebab or sausage and chips or maybe a Kofti Kebab with two pieces of Pitta Bread!

In fact, we think OTL is a bit like us, if it tastes good, eat it!

So, we tried to mug a bit of curry from him tonight but all we got was a bit on Naan Bread dipped into the curry gravy!

Back to the shortbread!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly
