Here, it's mid week again!

Hi Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here with you again.

It was only yesterday that it was Wednesday, and here it's back again!

We were suposed to go over over to They Boys place today but it got changed at the last moment and The Missus got to spend all day making cards, what a shame!

We were in Old Two Legs office this morning when we heard a tapping on the window, there, sitting on the window sill was one of those daft Collared Doves, tapping on the glass. We weren't sure if it was trying to peck its reflection or trying to attract our attention!

Knock Knock!

We went out with OTL for a mid morning run down along the Sea Wall, well, he was planning on going out by himself around midday to collect some stuff in South London.

You know what, he was planning to go all on his own!

We had a race around the brambles to chase the rabbits and then along the Sea Wall to see the sea! The tide was right in and the waves were making funny shapes along the concrete steps.OTL reckons that come the winter storms we should see some great waves crashing over the wall. If that is so, he can jolly well go walkies on his own!

A Wave climbing up the wall!

We saw an rather sad looking balloon on the sea wall, it was sort of sad, like something that was left over from a super birthday party!

After the Party's Over

When we got back at lunch time there was a load of crashing noise coming from the bird box, so OTL switched on the camera and saw that the Blue Tit had almost finished clearing the poo out and was trying to peck at the wooden walls, just to make it more comfortable!

Home improvements!
Well, come going out time, do you think we would let OTL go off to London without us? No way, we insisted we went with him!

On our way out we had to pass the New Park, so, both Holly and me made our 'We want a Wee' signals and OTL had to stop for a half hour to let us have a run!

Crafty or what!

Well that was it really, go out, pick up stuff, go home, eat dinner (Chicken and biscuits), mug OTL, have a pre bedtime snooze!

Come on, that's a lot to cram into a few hours!

So now it's off to bed after the 'Late evening Wee'!

Bye bye for now and see you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Sand Dune Discovery and Big Raptors!

Yo Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here with you again.

Last night we had some fun, our normal 'late evening wee' went missing 'cos we were just too comfortable cuddled up in bed and no matter what Old Two Legs said, there was no way we were going to move.

Until four in the morning that is!

I jumped up onto the bed and gave OTL a quick forehead lick, just to let him know I wanted something, then jumped down from the bed and ran down stairs.  (That's my, 'I Wanna Wee' sign). OTL got up and staggered down the stairs, bumping into everything on the way, followed by Holly who had decided she wanted a wee as well.

After we had finished, it was back to bed for our 'After Midnight Wee Snooze', that is always a good snooze but never lasts long enough! As soon as we get off to sleep, the sun comes up and it's all light and noise from the roadway!

This morning OTL took us out for our early morning run and this time we went down to the Sea Wall but he took a little detour when we got there. After chasing the rabbits we went through the bushes and onto the place where there are sand hills. OTL says he was looking for wild life, we just went wild!

A Vertical Beach!

It was super fun running up and down the sand, Holly was going potty with delight at running in the sand. Like me, she was remembering the holiday when we were running on the beach when the tide was out!

Full Speed Down The Sand Dune!

There was this big Greyhound type of dog we had not met before, he came bounding up to say 'Hello'. We could see he was a youngster and had not learnt all the social 'Rules' yet and got all excited when we said hello and OTL tickled him behind his ear. He was gentle enough and didn't try to take liberties so we all had a sniff before he ran back to his owner!

It's Meee!
Back home for a brush and a bowl full of chicken liver and heart and biscuits, then off to bed for our 'After Breakfast Snooze', leaving OTL to get on with his work!

Lunch time was great fun, we went back to the Sea Wall again for another run around and OTL spotted a 'Big Bird' in the bushes, so creeping up like a 'Big Game Hunter' so he can get a better shot with his camera, he quickly rattled off a couple of shots. The bird did not move. OTL ducked back behind the bush were we were hiding.

A Big Raptor?
We reckoned it could be a big buzzard or even a small eagle, Holly thought it was and Eagle Owl, OTL reckoned a Buzzard and I said it was a Golden Eagle that had lost it's way.

So, with the bird still sitting in the bushes we crowded around the camera while OTL zoomed in on the picture.

A Big Plastic Bag Raptor!
How we laughed at OTL, fancy mistaking a plastic bag for a Raptor!

Don't think we are going to let him forget this one in a hurry!

Off to worry The Missus about our dinner, chicken bits and biscuits and maybe a carrot for 'afters'.

See you tomorrow, we're off to see The Boys, loads of fun!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

We visit the Smelly Nelly again and to Knot or not to Knot, but thats not the Question!

Hello Woofers!

It’s Daisy & Holly back with you again.

What a damp, grey, miserable old day today has been! We have been expecting it to rain all day, but it didn’t, it tried a few drops then gave up ‘cos it was too miserable to even rain!

Well, it hasn’t stopped us from having a good time!

First of all we went out with The Missus for our morning walk, woofed at a few pigeons, just for fun, and said hello to a big old floppy Labrador who just mumbled a greeting and carried on snuffling under a bush.

Old Two Legs was ready with the brush when we got back and he decided to brush Holly first for a change.

He normally brushes me first but Holly has been getting a bit grumbly ‘cos OTL wakes her up from her ‘after walk snooze’ to have a brush and she doesn’t like being woken up, so she has a grumble and shows off a bit.

Not that OTL takes any notice and tells her not to be such a ‘Grumble Guts’ which makes her all sorry and snuggles into OTL’s arms while he carries her downstairs for the brushing.

This morning OTL says, ‘Holly First’ and goes to pick her up. Holly has a little grumble but decides it’s not worth complaining ‘cos OTL will get his own way ‘cos he is bigger that Holly and me put together!

After the brushing that we both enjoy really, we have to wait for our breakfast, chicken and biscuits, but when it arrived we were both straight in, up to our ears, indeed, a ‘Super Breakfast’. Just the thing to set you up for a mid morning snooze!

OTL has been busy making things and bashing away on the computer keyboard while we were having our snooze and when we woke up he said that he had some stuff to deliver.

Off we went with him in the car and after the last delivery he telephoned the accountant to arrange to drop some stuff off but the accountant wasn’t in. Oh Bother says OTL, we’ll have to find something to do for an hour or so!

Well, we know our way around the area and told OTL that the Riverside Park was close, so off we went for a run!

First of all we said ‘Hello’ to the old barge we call the ‘Smelly Nelly’ on account that when the tide is out it smells awful!

It's the Smelly Nelly!
We then chased some gulls that had landed on the beach and woofed them away.

No Gulls on our Beach
Then we went around the side and had a look in the rabbit hole to see if there were any rabbits at home.

There was a note pinned to the door, it said ‘Gone Shopping, back soon’, Holly said that the trouble with rabbits is that they always buy up the best carrots before we get there!

OTL was standing at the end of the path looking at some gulls he called Knot, and I asked if they were related to the Not Not’s we meet in the New Park. OTL said that they were totally unrelated, which was a shame ‘cos we could have had some fun calling them the Not Not Knots!

Holly tried by calling to them ‘is you Knots?’ but they didn’t take any notice and seemed more interested in eating the mud which is ‘Knot’ very healthy!

To Knot or not to Knot, but that's not a real question!
Holly can be such a Wag sometimes!

OTL has been playing about with the pictures he took yesterday and we have decided that the one of Holly is worth putting up on the wall, so he is going to frame the picture and then find some place to hang it!

Holly dreaming of Duck!

You can almost see her lips moving.

Chicken, liver, chicken!

Mind you, someone said that Duck taste like duck, but what does duck taste like, chicken?

That’s what Holly wants to know!

Bye bye for now, we are off to get some dinner, Doggy Food, Yuk!

Looks like OTL will get seriously mugged tonight!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly (Chicken is best!)

The Reeds and Boggy Bits!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with you again!

It was HORRID last night! Whiz Pop Bangs all evening and Holly was not a happy puppy!

We had a cuddle with Old Two Legs and then a cuddle with The Missus and then we went off to bed with TM and snoozed bedside her until it was time to go for our night time wee.

OTL took us out to the garden and we were just thinking about it when,       BANG!

That was it, Holly and I flew back inside and straight back up to TM and we didn't move off the bed until early morning!

We woke up early and made sure that OTL was up as well, (the old 'Wet Tongue in Ear trick) and we jumped up and down until we were in the car and off to Canterbury!

Holly kept asking 'are we there yet?' and of course, OTL told porkies and said that we were nearly there, when we weren't!

Finally we got there and we woofed and scrabbled at the door and woofed some more until OTL let us out!

It was a great time, we sniffed all over the place, ran in the wet grass and jumped in all the muddy puddles we could find!

On the way to Hide No.1
As we knew our way around, we led OTL to all the bird hides and helped him look for the birds and when we got fed up, we started making a noise and fighting so that he had to pack up and let us out!

We saw Fieldfare birds that had just arrived in the country for the Winter Stopover

There were some hides that we both found very interesting, especially when we saw there were loads of quacker type ducks and geese.

Is that one edible?
At the Tower Hide, Holly had a good game trying to work out what one would taste like chicken and what one would taste like liver!

Chicken, Liver, Chicken, maybe Liver, Chicken........
We stopped in the hide furthest away to have a spot of lunch, well, that was OTL's idea and we jumped up onto the shelve to see what he had to eat. Shock horror, he found that he had left his lunch at home!

This was getting serious, I mean, us puppies could starve without a proper lunch!

Lucky for us, OTL had brought a couple of doggy sausages for us, so, taking them out of the packet, he had to sit there holding the sausage while Holly and me bit off lumps to eat!

Chicken, Liver, Chicken, maybe liver, sausage and sausage!
We saw loads of birds and had a super time running in and out of the puddles on the way back. We ended up as right pair of Grubby Puppy's!

Getting Grubby Puppy's
There were some more Whiz Pop Bang's this evening which upset Holly again, so she got cuddles from all of us and I even gave her a lick on her nose to make her feel better!

Because of the noise, we are up late this evening, well it's no good going to bed early if you are going to be kept awake by the noise, so we have stayed up and had a sing song to keep Holly happy!

Up early tomorrow so we get our walk before the rain starts!

Bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

A quiet day up The Forest?

Yo Ho Woofers!

It's Daisy & Holly back again.

Last night we had another couple of shaky hours with some locals letting off the Pop Bangs again. We gave Holly a cuddle and she settled down with Old Two Legs to begin with, then The Missus and when TM went to bed Holly went up with her to sleep on the bed.

Well, after a while the Pop Bangs stopped but Holly was still a bit worried and didn't want to be on her own, so she jumped up on the bed and lay next to TM & OTL for an hour or two before creeping back to her own bed.

This morning she seemed OK and we spent some time playing 'chase the ball' up and down the stairs. That had TM chasing us back up stairs threatening to unscrew our tails if we did it again, which we did, 'cos OTL kept throwing the ball down the stairs!

Lunch time came and it stopped raining, so we decided to take OTL and his camera for a run down The Forest 'cos there must be loads of fungi popping their heads up after the rain!

Off we went for  a quiet run in the woods.

OTL spots some bracket fungi growing on a log and says it's called Turkeytail (Trametes versicolor) and it is not poisonous but it tough and leathery.

Bet you didn't know that!

Holly says it doesn't smell like Turkey or Chicken come to that!

Turkeytail Fungi

While he was taking the picture a couple walking their dog stopped to ask what he was doing and was the fungi rare. OTL said it was as rare as fresh air and he was interested in the colour. Off they went and Holly and I got a bit fed up and sat on the log where the fungi was, just to let OTL know we wanted to move on!

Next we stopped to have a look at some old Air Raid Shelters and while we were having a sniff, OTL found another fungi growing in the grass.

So while he was setting up the camera we went off for a rummage around looking for new sniffs.

An Australian couple came along and asked if OTL was looking for fairy’s! OTL said 'no' but he wouldn't mind finding a pot of gold!

He went back to trying to photograph the fungi again when we decided to introduce our new friend, a Beagle, to OTL, and we all three danced around the fungi having a sniff at the same time!

OTL told us to woof off and leave him alone for a while, so we did, just before the owners of the Beagle stopped to ask him what he was doing!

You can imagine what he wanted to say, and we reckon the last word would be........... OFF!

Well, he finally finished and it doesn't look too bad.

We haven't found it in the book yet!
We then went off looking for more fungi and while OTL was looking under a fallen log a young couple came along with their two children.

They asked OTL if he knew the woods well and did he know of some trees that had been made into seats.

OTL took a look at the children and said that if they carried on a bit further they would find a log that had been cut into the shape of a bench and that was where the elves sat when they had their sandwiches at lunch time and if they went on a bit further up the hill, on the right they would find the chair that the chief fairy sits on. Then if they carried right up the hill to the Iron Age Barrow, they would find the chair that is used by the King of The Fairy’s every night when they have their dance!

The children were open mouthed all the time OTL told them how to get to the chairs, the Mummy smiled and said thank you and the Daddy just stood there with his mouth open and his eyes as wide as saucers.

We reckon he was thinking 'What sort of crazy nut have we stopped here?'

Holly and I were both laughing our tails off, but we did hide behind the tree to do it!

We tried some running along the tree trunks and I nearly fell of 'cos I was going so fast!

A Fast Flying Daisy!

Well, we've got home and I had decided to post the blog early 'cos Holly and me are going to get up on OTL's lap, just in case they let off some more Pop Bangs tonight!

So bye bye for now and OTL has promised that we are off to Canterbury tomorrow, Yippee!

Bye bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Fun Friday

Hi Woofers!

D&H back again.

Didn't it rain last night! It got to about two and we were up woofing at the burglar that was trying to break in the window, until Old Two Legs pointed out that it was rain banging on the window!

We crept back to bed until around four when a fox made a load of noise trying to get into the dustbins. We woofed him away and OTL woofed us back to bed as well!

A run down at the Sea Wall with OTL and Tom was fun, I jumped out of the car and went flying off the wrong way! Didn't find any rabbits but Holly, who went the correct way, said she saw three rabbits and chased them all around in a circle and down their holes!

I think she is telling porkies!

It was good that the rain stopped just as we were getting out of the car, so we didn't get wet at all!

We scared an old crow off his dinner and it kept hovering over the top of us thinking we had pinched his shellfish!

Silly bird!

We met a doggy who was smaller than us and boy could he yap!

Holly called him Mr Yappy!

Hello Mr Yappy!

Later on we went with OTL and Tom to take some stuff down the carriers and to get some fuel for the car, then, as we were down in the town, we bullied OTL into taking us to The Forest!

There were a few doggies there to say 'Hello' to and a few squirrels that ran away when I chased them!

OTL found some fungi to photograph, he was using his new tripod, one that allows him to put the camera right down on the ground.

He was having problems setting it up,and he said that it was like fighting a demented set of bagpipes!

Still, here are some of the pictures.

No, I don't know it's name!
Here is another view from underneath with Tm holding his coat behind to block the light!

Looking up at the gills
We went on and Tom found another one that reminded me of the ones we found when we were in Scotland. They were called Rufous Milk Cap but the one in Scotland was under the branches of a pine forest, this one was in the open in a Broad Leaf forest with no pine trees at all!

Maybe a Rufous Milk Cap but not sure!
If you know what it is let me know, then I can show off to OTL and tell him what it is!

After all the running around, we were tired little girls and after Tom had gone home, we just crashed out in our beds and slept all the way through OTL eating dinner, an almost unheard off event!

Still, Saturday tomorrow and we still haven't been down to Canterbury for our run around The Marshes, so, claws crossed for a rain free day!

See you soon.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

We have a Visitor!

Hello You Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here again!

Yesterday The Missus and Tom and us came home together, all in the same car and I disgraced myself.

I think I'll get up for a stretch!
I was walking across Toms lap for a stretch and I let one go, just about he time my tail was level with his nose!

All of a sudden there was Tom, TM and Holly going Phew, Pheew, COR, PHEEEW! Windows were being opened and everyone was looking at me!

Sorry, it just sort of slipped out, on it's own!

I mean, it's not as though I do it all the time, much!

I blame the chicken myself!

Tom stayed overnight with us, so me and Holly had some fun cuddling up to him on the sofa!

Holly has a cuddle with Tom!
TM & Tom took us out for a walk along the Sea Wall, we chased a couple of rabbits and we got soaked 'cos it was raining!

It was OK 'cos after having our hair cut, a quick rub down with the special 'Doggy Towel', we were dry in no time at all!

After a breakfast of liver and biscuits we spent the morning woofing at a passing cat and snoozing in our beds, it really is a hard life being a puppy you know!

Come lunch time, Old Two Legs gets mugged for a bit of his lunch, then we start to bully him for a run out. Down to the Sea Wall we went and saw an amazing sight. A boat that had run out of water!

I know that you need to put petrol or diesel into the car to make it go but the thought of a boat running out of water was a bit strange, but there it was, right in front of us!

No water!
How embarrassing!

On our way back we bumped into a couple of doggies, one which wouldn't leave me alone, he kept sticking his nose under my tail!

Well what's a girl supposed to do? I ran around a bit but he didn't get the message, so OTL had to pick me up and put me on his shoulder, out of his way.

Then Holly marched up to him and gave him a stern woofing warning!

I Said Leave My Sister Alone!
Good old Holly, she sorted him out!

We had a race with Tom on the way back, talk about slow, we had to keep stopping for him to catch up, he is nearly as slow as OTL!

Come on Mr Slow!
We have some more Liver and biscuits tonight, so we are both going to sit in front of TM until it gets served !

So bye by for now and see you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Wot! It's mid week Again?

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here again.

Wednesday is here again, and it was Thursday just a few moments ago!

I'd better get on telling you about today before Wednesday comes around again and bumps into my bottom!

We have been out all day today, we've had a super day over at The Boys house, well Tom really 'cos he has a long half term holiday but Matthew went back to school at the beginning of this week.

We've been out on long walks around the parks and at one place Holly suddenly shouts out 'Poppy'! Then legs it off through the trees until she comes to where Poppy lives, a quick scratch on the front door and Poppies owner let's Holly in where she meets up with Poppy again!

Poppy is an old friend that she used to go for walks with when she lived on the estate and they always had loads of fun running and jumping in the park.

Holly and Poppy made a big fuss of each other and I was introduced, again, I seem to remember meeting Poppy some time ago but the memory is a bit 'fuzzy!'

We have been chasing around the house, digging in the garden and generally getting into mischief like wot you would expect from a couple of 'Super Stars'!

It was a little late getting back to Old Two Legs, in fact it was so dark that we decided not to go out for our evening walk, just in case we met some big badgers or foxes!

As The Missus didn't take her camera with her, there are no pictures to show you, TM did offer to paint a picture for us but she only does 'matchstick men' and those aren't very good either!

It was good to get back to OTL again and he showed us the finished picture that we will be using on the Christmas Card this year, we both look very good and 'sophisticated' but you will have to wait until Christmas to get yours!

We will be offering signed 10 x 8 Glossy for sale early in the New Year, with all the profit going to the D&H Tasty Tit Bits Fund!

I expect we will be up early tomorrow 'cos OTL has some work to do and then there are the 'deliveries' and after that, maybe the New Park!

So bye bye for now and see you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Glamour Girls or Wot!

Hi Woofers!

It's the Glamour Girls Daisy & Holly back with you.

It has been a riot of a day today!

Old Two Legs has been tarting around with his camera and lights trying to take our 'Christmas Card' photo, seeing as how we just got all clean and super looking at the Parlour yesterday.

Now, The Missus took us out early this morning for a walk along the Sea Wall, super sunrise all across the estuaries (Thames & Medway). OTL was at home busy setting the lights up.

It looked all professional with loads of wires all over the place and lights behind screens and under an  umbrella.

The Studio

OTL wanted us to sit under the lights so he could set them up and get rid of all the shadows and stuff. Well, Holly and me weren't going to do that, I mean, we're professional Cute Puppies and we don't do the labouring jobs. Oh no, we arrive and pose then go, collecting our fee on the way out!

So when we get the request to help OTL, we just called for our 'stand in', Nan-Nook of North Kent.

Nan-Nook
She is trying to break into the fashion scene but between you and me, I don't think she has got the looks! We use her whenever we go on a shoot 'cos it saves us so much time and we do just hate to hang about!

When OTL reckoned he was ready, we tripped onto the stage and tried to get in the mood for the shoot, it was no good, we got bored with what OTL wanted us to do, I mean, he was being unreasonable! Hold this stocking, wave this wand, look left, look right, up, down, wrinkle your nose! It was just too much!

You want More Cute?
Holly flopped down first saying she had a head ache, I said my tail was sore and Nan-Nook was snoring in the corner.

I am just too tired!
The truth was, OTL had been feeding us bits of a Doggy Sausage to keep our interest but we'd had so much we both were feeling a bit sick!

We got funny tummies
We told OTL that we were both just Too Worn Out to pose any more and he just had to pick something out of the shots he had 'in the can' (that's a Technical Bit of jargon!)

So we are of for an early night and maybe some stomach powder to settle the wind!

See you tomorrow!
Luv,

Daisy & (Burp!) Holly

Shampoo & Set Day

Hello Woofers!

It's Daisy & Holly back with you again!

We had a small 'Rebellion' this morning, we knew that we were off to the 'Parlour' today for our Shampoo & Set, and, as The Missus was taking us out for our early morning walk, we decided that a really good chase across The Fields would get us set up for the day, and give the 'Parlour' some work to do to earn their money!

Back we came, covered in mud, from the pads on our paws up to the bend in our knees, I mean, black, sticky, lumps of mud. All of it stuck to our fur, it was great, that will give them something to wash off!

Trouble was, Old Two Legs came down from the office and saw what a fine mess we were in and commanded, 'Washing time for you two!

So, there we were, up to our knees in warm soapy water getting all that lovely mud washed off!

Breakfast finished with, we were both put in the car and off we went to the 'Parlour'. At first we didn't recognise the place, all the woofing from the dogs in the kennels, then it dawned on us!

I jumped up at OTL's leg and tried my best 'Please don't leave me here' look but he just gave me a rub on my haunches and told me to be a big brave girl.

I didn't feel like a big brave girl, in fact it was as much as I could do not to start whimpering and crying!

The details are unimportant, but in the end both Holly and I looked 'The Business', clean, blow dried, smelling of something the Two Legs like to sniff and our claws were trimmed to just the right length.

Two thirty came and we were taken from the cage where we were having a snooze and there was OTL & TM waiting for us!

That was it, we were out the door in a flash!

Back safe in the car we gave OTL and TM a good 'Hello' lick then Holly said 'Let's get the Woof out of here!' Which was OK 'cos the next stop was the Doggy Shop, wonderful sniffs there, the layout had been changed and they had a vet in there as well!

We stayed well clear of the vet but helped OTL choose some biscuits and some sausages for our 'Christmas Card Photo Shoot' tomorrow.

We had great fun last year doing the shoot and managed to get through all the sausages before we did our famous 'Cute Puppy Pose'

Christmas Card Photo 2010

We will be saving the picture for Christmas, so no peaking in the files hoping to catch a preview! However, we may show you how it was set up, that's always good for a laugh!

Well, we certainly had some fun doing it last year , so this year should be a right hoot!

Sorry there is no photo's today but what with the 'Parlour' and all that stuff there was not enough time!

Watch out for tomorrows tale (tail?) it will make up for today!

Bye bye for now, chicken and biscuits are calling!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly
