Back to the Drawing Board for OTL!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here again.

We have been sort of lost today, Old Two Legs went off to get his photographs appraised today. He left really early this morning and didn't even take us out for a walk!

It was a good job that The Missus and Auntie Sheila took us or we might have had an 'accident'!

We had some fun down on the Sea Wall and later at lunch time we went over The Fields. We haven't been there for some time and it was interesting catching up on the sniffs and also seeing what is growing this year!

OTL didn't have a good day, it seems that the pictures he took were OK but the processing was not to the standard required on a few of them. As the man pointed out, just one bad one and that blows your chances.

So, it is Back To The Drawing Board for OTL and a bit of work to do on his computer.

Tomorrow TM is off to Ally Pally with all her mates to get loads of card making stuff, so, we will have a super day with OTL. If the weather is OK we want to go down to The Farm 'cos we haven't been there for some time.

Who knows, we may see the Badgers again!

So, sorry there are no pictures today but TM hadn't charged up her batteries for the camera!

See you soon!

Squirrel Hunting, Doggy Style!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy and Holly back on a misty Friday Morning.

We were up early this morning, well, about six thirty, which is 'Normal time' for us!

Old Two Legs got a lick on the ear but as he never woke up we decided to have a short snooze on the end of the bed and wait for The Missus to let us out for our morning wander around the garden!

OTL finally got up and after a shower took us down to the Sea Wall as normal.

It was misty, little or no wind at all and the Fog Horns were blowing as well, so it must have been bad out to sea!

Listen to the Fog Horns!

That didn't stop us having a chase around looking for those rabbits. Not that we found any, Holly says they were still in bed!

On our way back we heard a rustling sound in the bushes and we spotted a Wolf!

It was all big and mean looking and it was coming down the hill towards us!

It's a WOLF!!!
Then it spotted us!

Oh NO! It's Spotted Us!

So, being big brave puppies, we quickly ran up to OTL to protect us from this Big Dangerous Wolf with Big Slavering Jaws and a Mean Look in his eye!

It's After Us!!!!

OTL took a picture when it was right down the bottom of the ditch, then the wolf disappeared!

Just to make sure, we ran off as well, towards the car!

Back home to a good brush and some of the Lambs Heart left over from last night.

Of up to OTLs office for a snooze until lunch time when we decided it was time we did some serious Squirrel Hunting!

This involves careful planning, a strategy, and me in charge of it all! Holly said I was being bossy again but I told her that if she wanted to taste Squirrel, do as I say!

First we creep into The Forest and I take a tip from Barney. Instead of woofing and charging off after the squirrel, I stand and 'Point', so Holly knows where the squirrel is.

Me, Pointing like a Professional!
Trouble was, Holly was back a bit and didn't see me 'Point', instead she woofed out 'Look There's One Over There in the Woods!'

That was it, I had no choice other than to Chaaaarge!

Me doing a CHAAAARGE!!

Well, that didn't work, so I explained to Holly that we will have to stalk them by hunting 'Indian Style'

Holly asked if that means we got to have a Chicken Curry first?

I said that I didn't think she had her full attention pointed towards getting a squirrel today!

Hunting 'Indian Style'
As we were going along, we spotted another squirrel on the ground, digging up some nuts he had hidden last year.

Once again, it was Holly letting off a Big Woof that gave us away and up the tree the squirrel went like greased lightening!

It's got away hasn't it?

It wasn't long before Holly and OTL got fed up with the squirrel hunt and Holly went off sniffing trees and OTL started photographing flowers, again!

Not sure what this is but.......It's pretty!

There was this one that he didn't know what it was but it looked pretty and if you accept it was a hand held camera and no tripod, I suppose it was OK!

Another Bluebell!
Of course, he just had to stop at the Bluebell patch!

Back home we went, no squirrels but we did see some Nuthatch birds and two Jays, but they were too far away for OTL to get a good photo.

An afternoon snooze and TM should be back soon to feed us. Not sure what we got tonight, let's hope it's not that Doggy Dins stuff. It's horrible!

Bye bye for now.

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly (She likes a very mild Chicken Curry)

Barney's Secret!

Hey Ho Woofers!

Daisy and Holly here!

What a day we have had. First of all there was 'The Spy' we met on our walk along the Sea Wall.

We were not too sure what he was trying to do but he came sneaking down the path, dressed up in a dark blue suit and set up a tripod and camera and started taking pictures of the mud!

and this is where the Control Tower will be!

We had a look at the beach again, now that the tide had come in and out a few times to smooth it all over.

Our impression?

Impressive Beach!
Not Bad!

Then, all of a sudden, Old Two Legs was clicking away at a small bird that went whizzing past us.
First Swallow of Summer!
Then he went potty again clicking at another small bird that also whizzed past......

The Second Swallow of Summer!
That's it, it is now Official. Summer is here!

To celebrate, OTL took a picture of the sea weed on the  Sea Wall.

Pretty Sea Weed?

He really is a bit strange sometimes!

We were walking along the path and met up with Barney who was laying down on the ground hiding behind a blade of grass.

'Hello Girlie's' he said, I thought I might jump out and shout BOO! Just for a change!

Barney hiding in the grass!
One thing Barney does not do well is Hide in The Grass!

Then Holly asked what he is. Hey? Wot? Wadda You Mean? Says Barney.

Well, said Holly, we are cross breed dogs, half Fox Terrier and half Bichon Frise, but we have always been puzzled about your family.

Well, says Barney, I am, according to my Mum, an English Pointer!

That's impressive, says Holly, 'What does an English Pointer do?

Well, says Barney, I Point, I'm a sort of Hunting Dog, but I don't really hunt, I just point out to where the birds or rabbits are, that's why I'm called a Pointer!

Holly was seriously impressed and asked him if he could show her how he points.

Certainly he says and lifts one paw.....................

Serious Pointing from Barney!

I've got to do a bit more practice he says but I'm getting there! One day I will be as good as my Dad!

We said bye bye 'cos he was going away on holiday for a few weeks down to the South of France where the weather is warmer but they don't speak English!

He says that his pointing comes in helpful 'cos all he does is to point at what he wants, well it is easier than trying to speak French!

He promised to tell us all about it when he got back!

We spent the rest of the day snoozing on the sofa 'cos OTL had loads of stuff to do and The Missus had to take The Boys back home 'cos they had run out of clean socks!

Lambs heart tonight and some shortbread, if we are lucky!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly (Terriorisers, not Pointers!)

The bed doesn't rock!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here with you again!

We woke up this morning and jumped up on the bed to greet Old Two Legs who was still asleep with his head under the covers!

Come on, we said as we both licked his ear, it's time to get up and the room has stopped rocking!

It was strange not to have the caravan rocking in the wind!

We went down to The Sea Wall and were impressed with all that stone shoveling they have been doing, now you can see all of The Sea Wall!

They have been busy with the Digger!
OTL took a picture of the Wind Powered Generators in the estuary and the Old Sea Forts. If they try to build an airport here will they have to move that lot?

New Airport?

We spotted a tent that was used as a shelter for some fishermen who had decided to make a week of fishing. There was no one about, so we reckon they were going to be late for breakfast!

Late for Breakfast!

This afternoon we went back down to The Forest  and I spotted a Squirrel and chased it!

I went everywhere after this squirrel but in the end lost it!

It was here, Honest!

I thought Holly would have helped but she didn't see it and on top of that, she has a 'Troubled Tummy', OTL reckons it was something she picked up on the Dungeness Beach!

We have The Boys over for a few days, so there is always a cuddle if we get sleepy and who knows, they may even come out for a walk along The Sea Wall, if it stops raining!

See you tomorrow.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Back Home Again!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here again, home safe and sound!

Last night at the caravan site it was really scary! We had loads of rain, which is no problem, but this time there was gale force winds!

We still had the awning up and although Old Two Legs had put the extra strap over the awning, it still made a load of windy and crashing noises!

Both Holly and I got up on the bed with OTL and cuddled up close to him!

It wasn't until about three in the morning that it started to quieten down and not make so much noise.  OTL made up for it though, he was snoring his head off, even louder than the storm!

By the time morning arrived, it was all sun shine and breezes again!

OTL and The Missus took the awning down and packed it away, together with all the other stuff, ready for our trip home.

Holly and I had a last game of 'Chase' around the camp site and we made as much noise as we could!

Last Run Around The Camp Site!
We said goodbye to all the sheep and lambs and we also said bye bye to the funny smell along the side of the drain ditch!

Bye Bye Funny Smell!

Off we went around midday and soon we were home again!

OTL had to get some stuff out in the afternoon, so off we went with him and afterwards we dropped in to see The Forest.

Hello Again Forest!
We said 'Hello' to the new sniffs and hunted around for squirrels. No squirrels but a couple of new sniffs!

New Sniff!
We also found that there were some Bluebells in flower, so OTL took some pictures.

Hello Bluebells!
He also took a picture of a root ball on a tree that had fallen over many many years ago, OTL said it looked sort of spooky!

Spooky Roots!
We thought it looked like a good place to hide squirrels but after an investigation decided there were none there!

Tonight it will be an early night 'cos we are both tired little puppies and need our sleep!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly (Glad to be home!)

Sailing on the Grubby Gertrude?

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with you on a very wet and windy Monday, just like they should be, unless you are on holiday like us!

We had some fun last night, you know how Holly has got this thing about her chew, possessive just doesn't come near to describing it!

Well, around five in the morning, Holly gets that 'I need a cuddle' feeling and decides that she wants to get on the bed with Old Two Legs and The Missus.

Being a little too rotund to make the difficult jump from floor to bed, she walks up the passage way and puts her front paws on the bed, just about level with TM's head, then she does her soft 'Woof' to let TM know that she wants to be lifted onto the bed.

TM opens one eye and sees Holly there wanting a lift and stretches her arms out to pick her up. Holly, seeing TM is awake, turns, and rushes back down to the other end of the caravan and digs her chew out from under her blanket and runs back to TM, who then lifts her onto the bed, chew and all!

Got it sorted or wot!

We woke to the rain beating on the roof and the wind blowing the awning about, so bang goes our day of sun bathing on the sandy beach! Instead OTL takes us back down to Dungeness Beach, all stones but super sniffs!

Super Sniffs every where!
We find all sorts of stuff, Holly found some fish bones and was having a chew when OTL made her drop it 'cos he said it may stick in her throat!

Holly wanted to chew this!!
Stick in her throat, I reckon it wouldn't get past her mouth!

Holly found the back end of a Dog Fish that had 'Matured' quite nicely and proceeded to roll in it!

Roll Me Over, In The Dog Fish, Roll Me Over, in the..............!
Then we wandered down the beach a bit to see the fishermen, they still didn't look happy!

Oh! We Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside!

We found a boat that may do for us to go 'A Roving' on the high seas. We had a good look around and was trying to work out how many chews it would take to get a good paint job done!

A Lick Of Paint?
Holly worked it out and decided it was a Chew Too Far!
It was a shame 'cos I had thought of a good name for it.

 'The Grubby Gertrude'

When we got to the Lighthouse, Holly saw some very big speakers and asked what they were for. OTL explained that they were 'Fog Horns' but instead of air powered as in the olden days, these were electrically powered!

Serious Sub Woofers!
Holly said that if we could get them into the back of the car they would win the 'Biggest Sub Woofers' competition paws down!

OTL spotted an old wooden shack that looked like it could have come from one of the Harry Potter films!

The Shrinking Shack!
It was all creaky and wonky and the rabbits had made a home underneath the floor boards and the sniffs were Terrific!

Back to the caravan for some lunch and then a trip to the Supermarket followed by an afternoon of gentle snoozing before the evening fun of Shortbread Mugging!

This is our last night down on the caravan site, so OTL is going to 'Splash The Whisky' tonight, just for a change and in the cause of science you understand!

Bye bye for now, see you again tomorrow when we get home.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

A Day on The Beach with OTL!

Yo Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here again!

Good fun today! Old Two Legs was a little late in getting up, so The Missus took us out for our 'Wee Walk' first thing and believe it or not, it was Raining!

OTL was up by the time we got back though, to make up for his late arrival we demanded a walk down the beach!

Well, we had in mind the sandy beach with miles of sand everywhere, but because the tide was in, there would be no sand, just water!

So, off we went to Dungeness Beach, loads of stones but some absolutely heavenly sniffs!

On the way, we saw a Male Pheasant in the field, so OTL slowed the car down to take a picture. What he had not seen was the other male pheasant that was sitting on top of the hedge.

Now if we read the signs, we reckon that the first pheasant had just won a battle for territory or mating rights 'cos the second pheasant looked like it had been dragged through the hedge backwards and the dunked into the ditch full of water!

I mean, he looked Terrible!

I've had better days!
We've not seen a bird looking worse!

OTL wound down the window to get a good shot of both birds, we leapt over to the window and fought each other to get our heads out for a serious woofing session while at the same time OTL was trying to get the camera out the window and the lens to zoom in on the bird!

Look! A Woofin Chicken!
By the time he got to press the button the bird was legging it off on top of the hedge!

We arrived at Dungeness Beach, just in time for the rain to descend onto us!

Not that we worried, there were sniffs to die for and Holly just had to have a roll in them as well!

Sniffs, Sniffs and More Sniffs!
The fishermen looked as miserable as normal, no fish, no warmth and no sandwiches!

Having Fun Mister?
Holly found out about the sandwiches!

We saw some Great Crested Grebe diving for fish in the sea and there were a couple of Turnstone on the beach as well, turning stones and they had a load of stones to turn!

Two Turnstones turning stones on a stony beach!
After that we went over to the Dungeness Bird Observatory, but we didn’t Observe and new birds!

A quick ride in the car got us to the RSPB site at Dungeness and there were loads of notices saying 'No Dogs'! OTL only wanted a wee, so we stayed in the car.

Holly did suggest that we open the car door, run into the RSPB shop and have a tear around the place knocking all the bird books off the shelves!

We decided that may get OTL into trouble, so we stayed in the car and stuck our tongues out at everyone we saw in the car park instead!

OTL took us over the ARC bird site, part of the RSPB but not so many notices AND a Public Footpath. So they can't stop us!

We saw a Little Egret.

Guarding the Nest.
Then her mate came flying in!

In Coming!
OTL pointed out the Spoonbill, but it was sleeping, (again) so all we saw was a white bird in the distance with its beak under its wing!

Next we stopped for another walk, (off the lead) around the back of the Dungeness Bird Observatory and no, we didn't see any birds there either!

Back to the caravan and we crashed out, totally whacked, running over all those stones sure does wear a puppy out!

Whacked!
Liver tonight and some of OTL's lamb steak!

Not sure what we are doing tomorrow but it will involve taking the awning down 'cos we are going home on Tuesday but we may get a last run on the beach if we're lucky!

Bye bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Busy Day for OTL!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here again.

This morning we decided that us puppy's were not going to allow Old Two Legs to escape without us, so, first thing this morning, while he was still asleep, we jumped onto the bed and sat on his chest!

That sorted him out!

A good ear licking and a paw on the top of his head told him he wasn't going anywhere without us today!

Even if it was raining!

So, after our morning stroll along the margins of the sheep field we sat in the car while OTL got the empty gas bottle out of the caravan. Half way through cooking dinner last night, the gas went out and The Missus started to panic, silly TM, OTL had it all in hand!

Those gas bottle refills cost a fortune, you could buy a years worth of chews for the price of a bottle of gas!

Then he went into town and got us a new lead 'cos the other one was getting frayed and he didn't want us to snap it!

He also got us a couple of our favourite chews, (Chicken and Rice), just to make up for leaving us yesterday!

Next it is a trip to the Supermarket for The Missus 'cos she needed some stuff.

After all that, we demanded a run on the beach and to make it more fun, TM decided to come down there with us, even if it was a bit chilly!

Chilly
Then she tried throwing the ball for us, not very good! In fact she was as bad as Uncle Ian is at kicking the ball!

TM Trying to throw the ball.

TM threw the ball but it landed in the puddle and OTL made me go in and get it!

Well, she threw it in so She should get it!
Next we played 'Beachers Brook' a sort of running and jumping game.

Beachers Brook!
Holly found an old tree and although we tried, we couldn't throw it back into the sea!

..........and I say it Will Float!
We spent most of the evening watching a DVD, TM fell asleep first, followed by Holly and then me.

Holly fell asleep cuddling OTL's leg 'cos she says it is all warm and soft!

Holly, all warm and cuddly!
Not sure what we are doing tomorrow, got to check the weather forecast in the morning!

Bye bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

He did it AGAIN!!!

Hi Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here again.

He did it AGAIN!!!!!

There we were, sitting in the caravan this morning, the sun was shining and we were looking forward to another trip down the beach for some more digging and chasing balls and woofing at the Gulls.

Old Two Legs went out to the car and started to mess about with his camera and big lens.

Then he wandered off to Ian's car, got in and the pair drove off out of the gate!

This was not right!

How could he go off all day and leave us here! We had to sit and watch The Missus and Auntie Karen make cards and splash the glue pot around. You should have seen the cloud of glitter that got blown up into the air when the awning door got left open!

Then there was the little aeroplane that kept taking off and landing all day as well!

A Dam Buster We Ain't!
OTL and Ian had gone down to the RSPB site at Dungeness and dogs are not allowed onto the land 'cos they think we will scare the birds.

Let me tell you, there are Marsh Harriers there, they eat other living things! Then there is the Black Backed Gulls and Sparrow Hawks, then there is the Kestrels plus the Buzzards, they all eat other birds and stuff.

They think we will scare the birds?

We reckon the birds do a good enough job on there own, they don't need us dogs!

OTL saw a Spoonbill, miles away across the lake but most of the time it spent asleep so this shot is a rare sight!

Spoonbill between snoozes!
There was a Dunnock on a Gorse Bush, trying to look all big and brave!

Big Brave Dunnock!
He saw a Great Crested Grebe who went sailing past looking for his mate!

Has my mate passed this way?
OTL and Ian came back about six and it was too late to go down the beach, but we have told him.

It's The Beach tomorrow, or he is in deep, Deep Poo!

And when we say DEEP, we mean really DEEP, so deep he won't ever get out again!

Bye bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly
