The Return of Monsieur Barney!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again!

What a day! We went out with Old Two Legs this morning for our normal run along the Sea Wall.

We should have guessed that something was up 'cos he dressed us up in our winter coats and got out his protective cover for his camera.

Out the front door we went and it was raining, not much, not enough for our coats, but what the heck, it made a a change!

That was until we got down to the Sea Wall, it was blowing a gale down there and the rain felt like it was shot from a gun!

Hey! This is Horizontal Rain!
Well, that was it, we didn't fancy a long run this morning and pretty quickly both Holly and I had done what we needed to do and were pointing our noses towards the car!

OTL either didn't read our signals right or he had decided he wanted to get really wet!

We went a bit further on and then he turned around and headed for the short cut home!

As we got to the bit where OTL puts our lead on we heard 'WHEEeeeeeeeeee Girlies!'

Crashing through the weeds came Barney, back from his holiday!

Bonjour les filles!
He made a fuss of OTL then turned to us and said 'Bonjour les filles avez-vous eu un Wee-Wee?'

Holly looked at him and said 'Wot?'

Barney said it was what they spoke in the South of France where he had been. It was super warm and the sun shone most of the time!

I said we could do with some of that sunshine here 'cos we don't like the rain, too cold and wet!

Barney said he would catch up with us later and tell us some stories of his holiday!

We were glad to get back to the car where OTL gave us a rub down to get rid of most of the rain that had stuck to us. Trouble was, he also was soaked to his skin and when we got home he had to change all his clothes!

The morning was spent having a wander between the lounge and OTL's office.

Lunch time came and we looked out the window, yep, still raining!

Well OTL had to deliver some stuff so we agreed to go with him and providing it wasn't pouring down with rain, we would have a walk.

It poured down for most of the time we were delivering but it stopped just as we got to The New Park!

Off we went, I asked OTL if he had brought any balls with him to throw but there were none in the car, so we just had to put up with sniffin and running!

We said 'Hello' to the watchers and as normal, they said nothing, they just carried on watching!

Hello Mr & Mrs Watcher.
Then we said 'Hello' to the cows in the field and one came over and asked if we had any nibbles she could have 'cos she was getting fed up with wet grass all the time. Seems like it keeps giving her wind!

Got Any Nibbles?
I said that Holly gets like that after eating grass as well!

Holly said that OTL should take a picture of the cows eye, just for Mike. So here it is!

One for Mike!
There was a Rook sitting on the fence post having a groom and OTL was walking towards it with his camera up to his eye, sort of stalking thing he does with birds. We just ran along side the fence to see him but he flew away, just as OTL was getting close.

I'm getting ready to Fly!
We said sorry! Holly wanted to know if its song was like the Cuckoo but sort of Rook-Koo?

Holly found a big puddle, so we both had a paddle, until OTL told us we were 'Mucky Puppies' and we had to get out!

Puddles are for paddling in!
On our way back to the car I spotted a couple of big mean looking dogs coming towards us, so I did my trick of getting OTL to pick me up and sit me on his shoulder and as they came closer, I let off a load of big brave 'Woofs' and OTL told me off for doing that and Holly came running up, laughed and called me a Big Woofing Scaredy Cat!

Scaredy Cat!
Back home to some more nibbles and a cuddle with OTL and who knows, we may get him to get out the Shortbread tonight!

Bye bye for now, see you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

No Cuckoos Today!

HI HO Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here.

This morning we couldn't wait to get down to the Sea Wall to hear the Cuckoo again but when we got there, he had gone!

Is That a Cuckoo?
We ran up and down the path going 'Cook-Koo, Cook-Koo' but nothing happened.

Cook Woofin Koo!
Old Two Legs said it possibly had gone to Northwood Hill (RSPB) place or even The Forest.

So, we have decided that at lunch time OTL and us are off to the woods!

Breakfast was a little uninspiring today, Doggy Scoff, I don't know why The Missus gives it to us, we only eat it if we are starving and on our last legs!

So, as a protest, we decided to stay on the sofa while TM does her cards and we give her the 'Hairy Eyeball' and do deep sighs and every so often, a small hungry whine.

That was useless, she is a hard hearted Missus sometimes, no Lambs Liver, no Lambs Heart, No Chicken, no Minced Lamb, oh dear, I think we are going to starve to death tonight!

OTL took pity on us and we got three runs out today, twice to The Sea Wall and once down to The Farm, where we haven't been for ages!

We investigated all the fox holes and the rabbit holes and Holly saw a fox across the field and went racing across to sort it out but the fence was in the way, so all we could do was woof at the fox!

Foxy's Gone!
We took the long route and must have covered at least three miles, but as the sun was out and the rain had gone away, it was great fun!

OTL took some pictures of the Bluebells, again, you'd think by now he had got enough pictures!

Funny Daffodils!
One of the good things about The Farm is we can run off into the woods and we always know where we are and how to catch up OTL as he staggers up the hills!

It's a Long Way Back to The Car!
Some times we hide and wait until he has blown that whistle inside out before we jump out of the trees and rush past him!

You Calling Me????
As we got closer to the car we came across a field of grass that they sometimes graze sheep on but today it looked a bit 'Wobbly'

OTL says that they had a wonky wheel on the lawn mower but Holly says it was done by a 'Wonky Farmer' who's wheel fell off ages ago!

Wobbly or Wonky?
Back home we found that the Doggy Scoff was still in our bowls and it still didn't look edible!

Maybe tonight we will have to do some serious mugging of OTL, he has got curry tonight so I think we got a fight on our paws 'cos he does like his curry!

Bye bye for now and let's hope the sun keeps shining tomorrow!

Daisy & Holly

Our First Cuckoo this Year!

Hi Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here!

Guess what? We have heard the first Cuckoo calling this morning! We got out of the car by The Sea Wall and there is was belting out the familiar call!

Where's The Cuckoo!
Holly and I tried to copy its call but Old Two Legs says that we still sound like 'Woofers'!

Super run this morning, the wind was blowing but not too much and the sun was shining , but not too much, in fact a very pleasant walk indeed.

When we got home we saw that the small car was back and as we got closer to the front door we could smell traces of The Missus on the path. When we got into the hallway, it was there, loads of TM sniffs!

OTL let us off the lead and opened the door and in we flew, TM got a big wet ear licking as a welcome!

Lunch time walk was not good, in fact if it were not for the fact that last nights 'Doggy Scoff' was making a rumbling in my tummy, I would have stayed in doors!

It was raining, it was wet, it was cold, it was cold, wet and rainy and it rained on us!

We got back to the car, got towelled down and the car heater put on 'Full Blast'!

TM had gone again by the time we got back, more baby sitting, so we didn't get a chance to give her a lick on the ear whilst we were all damp and smelling of Dog!

She loves it really!

This afternoon was spent catching up on our snoozes and letting OTL get on with paying his suppliers. We always know when he does that 'cos he sobs hysterically every time he makes a BACS payment!

Poor Thing!

TM came back a bit late this evening so all we had time to do was to say 'Hello' and go back to our 'Before Bed Snooze'!

See you tomorrow and let's hope the rain stops because if it doesn't, we will have floods instead of a drought!

Bye bye for now.

A New place To Walk!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here!

What a day it has been today, from when we first woke up to now just as we are going to bed it has been a super day.

First of all we went on our morning stroll along the Sea Wall, Old Two Legs saw a Dunnock on top of a bush and took a quick picture, shame the bird wasn't looking at OTL, but it was good to hear him singing, the bird that is, not OTL!

Dunnock.
We wandered along the beach and Holly found the left over from last nights party!
Empty Bottle.
It is a real pity that they don't clear up the empty bottles after they finish with them. Sometimes we find these bottles broken and I wouldn't fancy standing on the broken glass!

Holly was playing 'Hide n Seek' with OTL. She would hide in the plants growing along side the path and wait until OTL whistled and called out for her, then she would jump out woofing and laughing at the same time!

This morning she had got the 'Pickle' in her!

Ho Ho Woofin Ho Ho!
Then we would run off ahead of OTL again!

We both hid in the grass and Holly said that the clouds were looking pretty today, so we lay on our backs looking at the clouds.

Pretty Clouds.
OTL finally caught us up and told us were we 'Mucky Puppies' for rolling in something smelly!

I'm sure he didn't believe us when we told him we were just looking at the clouds!

Later, when we went out again, OTL stopped the car in a new place. Then taking us across the road we arrived at a new walk!

This was part of the Sea Wall defence system we have around here, just waiting for the once in a lifetime storm!

A New Walk!
It was good searching out all the sniffs, there were doggy sniffs and duck sniffs and goose sniffs and sea gull sniffs!

There were So Many sniffs we had trouble keeping up with OTL!

Wide Open Sniffs!
While we were investigating some Foxy Sniffs we noticed that OTL was wandering around looking at the clouds, seems he has found a new interest!

More Stormy Clouds!
Holly found some feathers on the ground and after doing some examinations declared it was the last remains of a Black Headed Gull.

Mmmm, Smells Like Gull!
When we got back home, we found The Missus packing ready to go off to do some overnight baby sitting.

We didn't mind too much 'cos that means we will have a good time with OTL, singing songs and telling jokes!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Saturday with Old Two Legs.

Hello all you Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again!

Today The Missus was up really early 'cos today is the day she goes off to her 'Village Crop' when all her local 'Crafty Mates' get to sit in the village hall together and splash the glue pot around and make a big mess everywhere!

I sometimes wonder about them you know!

Old Two Legs and us were off good and early to the Sea Wall. The sun was still low above the horizon and just for a change, no rain!

OTL asked us to stand on the wall so he could take a picture of us in 'Silhouette'. It was fun trying to stand there and not giggle, especially as Holly was blowing raspberries at the same time!

First, here is me.

Daisy in Silhouette
Then there is Holly.

Holly in Silhouette
Now I ask you, who looks better?

Me of course!

I'm slimmer, got a better hair cut and know how to 'Pose' properly!

When I said this to Holly she didn't agree, so we got into a 'Discussion' about it and she kept on about me looking like a 'Bag of Bones' compared to her 'Well Rounded' shape.

I said I was 'Slim' and 'Willowy' and she was 'Short and Dumpy' and her butt was too big!

It was about then that the fight started!

OTL marched us both home and told us to 'Go into the Naughty Corner' which confused us a little 'cos as far as we were concerned, we didn't have a Naughty Corner!

We kept our heads down for a while anyway, just to let him get on with his 'Jobs'.

First of all he gave the central heating system a good clean out and set about with the vacuum cleaner getting rid of all the dust and cob webs!

Then he got the grass cutting thingy wotsit out of the shed and cut down all the grass which was over a foot tall!

It was a shame he did that 'cos now we have no where to hide our chews!

By then it was lunch time and we all had a chat on where we could go, in the end, we decided on The Forest again!

Of course Holly and me went off 'Hunting Squirrel' and every one we found refused to come down and play chase. One even said he thought that we would eat him if he came down.

I taste of Squirrel, not chicken!

Holly promised she wouldn't eat him, unless he tasted of chicken!

I found another but he wouldn't come down either!

Professional Squirrel Hunter!
OTL didn't find any Jay birds to photograph, they all were hiding over the other side of the forest today!

So, no Jays and no Squirrels, so we went home!

It wasn't long before TM came back and showed us six 'Tags' she had made at her 'Crop'. OTL put his foot in in, he asked why she makes so many of these 'Tags' and never uses them on any presents?

She was not pleased and you could tell that by the way she growled at him and snatched the tags back out of his hand!

Never mind, we gave him a cuddle and helped him eat his shortbread!

See you tomorrow, F1 race is on late morning, so OTL has to get his work done before the race starts!

Bye bye for now!

Daisy & Holly

OTL has to go out to Work!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here with you again!

Today has been a sort of nothing day.

We got up early and went out with Old Two Legs for our run along the beach.

We saw Mr & Mrs Shellduck, paddling in the mud!

Mr & Mrs

Then we had to get out of the way of a 4x4 rolling along the path we normally take. OTL says it must be dangerous driving it about because of the Hazhem sticker it has on it's windows.
He says it has Corrosive and Toxic and Harmful and Irritant stuff on board and we had better not get too close or we could end up bald!

Keep Away!
Holly asked if that was the reason OTL didn't have much hair?

When we got back to the car, there was a youngster getting ready to go out for a walk.

Mr Max!
He said his name was Max and he was just too excited to stay and have a chat 'cos not only did he want to have a run but he wanted to do a wee as well!

OTL gave us a good brush when we got back, made sure we had our breakfast and spent a little time in the office.

Then he started to load up the car with tools and stuff. We knew what was about to happen, OTL was going back to working for a change!

Off he went and we were a bit upset he had left us at home.

The Missus took us out at lunch time but it wasn't the same, she didn't play 'Chase' or 'Hunt The Rabbit' she didn't even know any of our 'Walking Songs'!

And, she can't whistle like OTL!

We stayed cuddled up to OTL's jumper and although he wasn't there, we could still smell him!

When he finally did get back he was worn out, poor thing, he says he's getting too old for this working thing!

We had a good cuddle and as a treat he got out our chews so we can have a nibble  while watching the F1 practise on the television.

TM is off tomorrow to he 'Village Crop' so we will have OTL all to ourselves, so we can bully him into taking us for a run in The Forest!

Let's hope the weather is warm and sunny tomorrow!

Bye bye for now!

Daisy & Holly

Rain Rain and More Rain!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again!

What a day today! Every time we stick our noses out of the door, it is raining!

We went out for our early morning wee in the garden, yes, it was raining. So it was a quick trip, out and back again as soon as possible!

When Old Two Legs took us down to the Sea Wall, guess what? Yep! It was raining!

We reckon it was so bad the ships were parked up 'cos their windscreen wipers couldn't keep all the rain off the screen!

There was one parked up, called Norman Flower and it had a deck where a helicopter could land. It also had a very big Hiab type of crane at the back, so it couldn't have been a fishing boat!

Hello Flower!
We had a run on the beach and Holly spotted some gulls having breakfast of some bread that had been thrown on the beach. Holly took one look and went steaming off to see if it was fresh. The gulls called out to each other, 'Watch Out, There is Holly!'

Watch Out! There's Holly Dog!
Seems our sister is known all over the place for her eating habits!

Beside the ships parked up on the horizon, there was one hurrying into the Medway to off load his containers, OTL reckons they may have had a Pilot on board.

Low Flying Boat!
Holly just couldn't work out why the ship wasn't flying if it had a pilot.

We were heading back to the car when this very large poodle dog came jumping all over the place. Holly got a little scared and yelped, I ran behind OTL for protection!

Behave Yourself!

Holly had a woof at it but we don't think he was having a go at us, just lacking in the social graces of saying 'Hello'!

He said that he had come from a Rescue Centre and had not been allowed out with his other owners, just a wander around the garden and he had never seen other dogs since he left his Mum and brothers.

So we gave him some tips about sniffin dogs you meet for the first time and where it is not good manners to stick your nose until you have been properly introduced!

Manners Holly!
Not that it stopped Holly if she thought she could get away with it!

The rest of the day was rain and more rain.

We went out in the afternoon and started a walk around The Forest but it got so wet we had to go back to the car.

OTL took us back to The Sea Wall but again, half way through the walk, it rained, again!

In the end we went back home, had some chicken, left over from breakfast, and went to sleep in OTL's office, well, it's nice and warm in there!

Holly has seen the tin of 'Doggy Dins' on the work surface in the kitchen, so we know what we've got for dinner tonight, YUK!

See you tomorrow!

Daisy & Holly

Back to work for OTL!

Yo Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here with you again.

The weather has been better today, not so cold and not so wet!

First thing it was blowy and when we went down to Sea Wall we could see the wind blowing the Tide in!

Blowing in the Tide!
Later at lunch time we went down to the carriers to send some of Old Two Legs stuff off. He had been working so hard all morning that in the end I felt sorry for him and gave him a cuddle and an ear lick!

Holly got in the car first and decided she was the one to blow raspberries at all the other car drivers today!

Getting the Raspberries Ready!
When we got to The Forest, OTL tried taking some pictures of a Jay but the Jay had seen him stalking about in the undergrowth and did what all birds do when OTL wants to take their picture, they hide!

Look! I'm Hiding!

Or, they turn their backs on him!

Can you still see me?

We thought it was funny and went off Squirrel Hunting. Holly said she found some fresh squirrel droppings!

Mmmmm Squirrel Droppings!
Sure enough, above our heads, there was the squirrel and it refused to come down to play!

Instead he just stayed on the branch chattering away in 'Squirrel' calling us names!

No! I'm staying up here!

A bit down the path we met up with a bad tempered Husky type of dog, not very old but a bit protective and he threatened to eat us if we got too close to his owner.

No Closer!

So we didn't!

Back home for a snooze before dinner, Chicken & Biscuits, followed by some of OTL's dinner and some from The Missus's plate as well!

I think an early night tonight 'cos it was late by the time we got to bed last night and we over slept this morning!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Wet, Windy and Grumbly Weather!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy and Holly here again!

What a wild day it has been today, wet and windy for most of it! Still, it hasn't stopped us from having some fun.

We went out with Old Two Legs this morning and on the way we saw a Heron trying to cross the road, well fly over the road and the wind was so strong it kept getting blown back!

The Sea Wall was deserted, we think it was just too windy for anyone to be out! Lucky Barney is down in the South of France in the sunshine, I bet he misses our weather!

Windy, Windy, Wet & Windy!
So, we didn't hang about too long and were soon back home enjoying grumbling over a Rawhide Chew!

Around lunch time, the sun came out, so we bullied OTL into going down The Forest again.

As soon as we got there we saw squirrels rushing around the tree tops.

Me Squirrel, You Dopy Dog!
I just couldn't take my eyes off them. I mean, how do those little things hang on to the tree trunks and still run?

Come down here and say that!
Holly said that unless they come down to the ground and give us a chance, then it was not worth bothering to even woof at them!

I am not convinced, one day I will catch one off guard, then let's see what Holly thinks then!

I Sniff Squirrel!
Before long, OTL was back to taking photos of the Bluebells, you would have thought by now he'd have got fed up with the things!

...and Yet Another one!
We were wandering along, just sniffin the trees, looking for anything interesting, like squirrels, when there, up on a log, was this small 'poodley' looking thing. It gave a sort of excited woof and almost jumped on top of me!

Hello Doggies!

It was a dog that obviously didn't get out too much 'cos it then began to run all around Holly and me like a squirrel on fire!

It jumped up in the air, ran off, ran back again and carried on as if it had just found it's long lost sisters!

We just stood there, amazed at his antics!

We had a good laugh about him all the way home in the car. Holly and I sometimes sit on the parcel shelf at the back of the car. Today we did it again, it was good fun and whenever a car came up behind us, we would both look out the back and pull faces at the driver!

After we got home, there was a big storm passed over us, there was lightening and Grumbly Thunder. Holly didn't like the thunder 'cos it sounded just like those nasty Whiz Pop Bang things.

So OTL gave her a cuddle and I licked her nose until she got over it. Then she went and pinched my last bit of Lambs Heart I had been saving from my dinner!

Tomorrow we are going down to see The Boys, 'cos The Missus has got to do some baby sitting after school. So, if we are lucky we may even get a run down by The Lakes, providing it stops raining!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Do we look good or Do We Look Good!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here on a sunny Monday!

We had a bit of a late night last night, Old Two Legs was up playing with his pictures on the computer, so Holly and I had fun pinching each others chews and grumbling at each other!

In the end, OTL gave up on the pictures and put us to bed around midnight!

We had almost forgot, we had to be up early so we can get a walk before going to have our fur done!

So, there we were, seven forty five, off to the Sea Wall. It was a bit blowy and there was still a chill in the air. We chased a couple of rabbits and had fun chasing each other up and down the Sea Wall.

OTL then asked us to pose so he could take a 'Before & After' picture of us.

We didn't really fancy having our picture taken, seeing as how we looked a bit of a Scruff Bag!

OTL kept telling us to 'Sit' and 'Stay', which we did, right up to the moment he got the camera up to his eye, then one of us would stand up or look the other way or run up to him and lick his nose!

No, we Won't Smile for the camera!

You know, we didn't even get our breakfast!

As soon as our walk was finished, off to the Poodle Parlour we went and OTL left us with the lady who gives us our Shampoo & Set!

I won't bore you with the details, but in the end we came out all looking super good and smelling like The Missus's make-up cupboard, PHeeeeeW!

We got home and had our breakfast and a little snooze before telling OTL we wanted our walkies!

We were wandering along, as we do, when a humping big black Labrador came crashing through the bushes and scared Holly so much that she Yelped like I do when I get scared.

The Labrador was called off by his owner, so I stood there and gave him a really loud and long howling sort of Woof!

Me, Doing The Woof!

'Don'tyoucomearoundhereupsettingmysisterlikethatagainorI'lltieyourtailinknotsanduseitforatoothpick!'

I went on for so long that OTL had to put me on my lead so he could keep me quiet!

Well, try to keep me quiet!

We got told to 'sit and stay' again so he could take another picture and this time we kept fidgeting about, as normal!  Poor OTL, he just was not having a good day!

Still being a Fidget!

Back home we spent some time catching up on our snoozing, a girl needs her snoozing time you know, it's not all shampoo and curlers!

Not sure what is on the menu tonight but Holly says it's Lambs Heart and she should know!

See you tomorrow and we may even find some mud to roll in, just to wind OTL up!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly
