Monday's Sunday!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with you again!

Yesterday we had the weather man talking about warm weather and sunshine for this week.

When we went out with Old Two Legs this morning it was decidedly chilly, windy and un-sunny!

We went looking for rabbits but they stayed inside their holes and refused to come out to play!

We saw a House Sparrow on the beach having a morning breakfast of sea weed, a sort of Sparrow Seaweed Sushi!

Seaweed Sushi

Holly and I were having a sniff on the grass path when this young Husky came bounding up to us. Now, you know I'm not the tallest puppy on the block and Holly is the same size, so, we tend to get a bit put out when we come up against a big dog we don't know.

I get really nervous and start to yelp and snap at them. I don''t really mean it, it's just I'm a little unsure of myself.

We had not met this Husky before, so, I got a bit worried.

Wanna Play?
He wanted to play.

I didn't.

He jumped up and scared me.

I yelped and ran behind OTL.

Then I woofed and snapped at him.

He jumped back so far he sat on his tail!

That sorted him out!

You don't mess with a Terrier!

This afternoon we went out with OTL down to The New Park, we haven't been there for ages, so there were loads of new sniffs and a few dogs we haven't met either!

First of all we went to see the Not Not Neddy's but they were down near the stables and pretended they couldn't hear us!

So we carried on and were joined by Sasha, a big excitable doggy who wanted to play chase. So, Holly and I had a game with her and I even let her chase me all the way down the field!

Catch me if you can!
We arrived at the swimming hole and we both jumped in for a paddle. It appears that Sasha is just a wary of the water as I am and only goes in as far as her tummy! OTL and Sasha's owner were throwing the ball for us and we were jumping in to fetch it. Then disaster struck, the wind caught the ball and blew it too far out so neither of us could get it, so we lost Sasha's ball!

Too Far For Me!!
That was it! We decided to carry on with our walk and see if there were any rabbits about!

Can you see us?
Trouble is, when we go rushing off to hunt rabbits OTL looses interest in us and wanders off and starts to wave his camera about. This time, when we came back, there he was, on his knees, photographing a dandelion that he said had just given birth.

We didn't think flowers did that sort of thing but he explained that the seeds had just blown off in the wind!

Dandelion giving birth!
Sometimes we think OTL is a bit strange!

Holly and I carried on running about and even managed a paddle in the Swimming Hole on the way back.

We had to be careful 'cos the was a big retriever having a swim as well and he kept loosing his ball!

Who Has Got My Ball?
We ran off up the hill following OTL who was throwing our ball for Holly but Holly just hasn't got the 'Ball Thing' yet. You see, OTL throws it and Holly chases the ball, catches it then runs away and hides the ball!

Then she comes running back to OTL saying, 'OK Now it's your turn to find it!'

OK, It's Your Turn!
Sometimes I wonder about my sister!

Back home it's chicken tonight and a mug of OTL's dinner, not sure what he has got 'cos we can't smell anything cooking, we just hope it's not ham salad!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Sunday but Slowly!

Hi Woofers!

It's Daisy & Holly back with you again!

We had a really lazy morning, first we got up, had our morning wee, then went back to bed again for our 'After Wake Up Snooze'.

Then of course, we got to have our 'Slowly Wake Up Snooze' in the day bed and then while Old Two Legs is having a shower, we wander back to the bedroom and collapse onto the bed to have a 'Gentle Roll Around Snooze' and await OTL to wash behind his ears!

By the time OTL has got his coat on, we have woken up enough to stagger downstairs for our morning walk along The Sea Wall with OTL.

This morning we heard, and then saw, a White Throat dancing among the weeds, then the Sea Gulls flew over us. Holly and I went for a walk along the beach and I got to have a roll in something smelly!

OTL was not happy with us for doing that!

Holly was having her 'Morning Workout' by chasing Mr Rabbit and Mr Corvid and as normal, failing to get near enough!

Still Trying!
On the way back home, OTL stopped by the side of the road and jumped out to take a picture of the Linseed flowers. We reckon he should get the correct lens and a tripod, but it's not too bad for a beginner!

Linseed and Rape
The afternoon walk was fun, we went to the Sea Wall near the docks. It's great for running and there are loads of sniffs there that we just don't get on the beach.

Good Running Space!
Both Holly and I got a good roll in some stuff that had a sniff of goose in it!

Rolling in a Sniff!
OTL called us both 'Smelly Nelly's' and threatened us with a bath when we got home!

I went into the water for a 'Deep Paddle' and got a bit smelly on top of the smelly I got from having a roll!

Fresh from a Deep Paddle!
I bet that in the winter time it will be deep mud everywhere down there, so I'm looking forward to that!

The Docks
We got a good look at The Docks on the way back and Holly said that the cranes look like Big Monsters waiting for a meal!

We said 'Hello' to Mr & Mrs Tufted Duck but they didn't say anything, they were too busy quacking to each other to hear us!

Mr & Mrs Tufted Duck
Back home we spent some time in the garden and I was laying on the pond side pretending it was full of water and the sun was shining!

Mind you, the weather man did say that we should be getting some good warm sunny days next week, so claws crossed, we might be able to catch up on our tans!

Bye bye for now, dinner calls!

Swimming Pool or Moon Crater

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with you again.

Today we have spent with Old Two Legs, re designing the pond.

It all started when we went out for our morning stroll along the beach.

Holly said that the pond should have different layers, like a beach.

Look, Layers!
Then she said it should be like the Swimming Hole we sometimes go to, that has a long sloping bottom and then it goes into mud and stuff!

Then she just happen to mention that it looked like my bottom and that's why I liked it so much!

I told her to get off the beach and say that, and that's when we got into 'Discussions'!

Come up here and say that!
That didn't last long and we were back to looking at the beach again!

Look, slopes!
Back home we had a good look at the hole and then got OTL to dig some more out so that we got several layered sides and a bit deeper to it doesn't freeze in the winter.

OTL said that if we go much deeper we would meet up with the earth's magma and that would keep the pond at boiling point!

Wot? No Magma!
Then Holly said that it looks like a moon crater like the ones on Trev's blog when he takes pictures of the moon!

We might get OTL to have another dig tomorrow, just to slope the sides a bit.

Next week we have the skip arriving, so OTL will have to put all the earth he dug out into the skip, now that will be fun!

Off to dinner now, bye bye until tomorrow!

Birds and a bit of sunshine.

Hi Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here on a bright Friday!

We were up good and early this morning, we woke The Missus up and then tried to wake up Old Two Legs.

TM is no problem but OTL? No way! Talk about snooze champion, he didn't even move when we gave his ear a lick, nor did he move when Holly stood on his back and licked his bald patch!

We went on our morning walk along The Sea Wall, OTL was interested in a Kestrel that was hovering over the path, looking for it's breakfast!

Here Mousy Mousy!
It was zooming up and down the path but we never saw it catch anything!

Do doggy's taste like Mouse?
He looked so sad not catching anything but Holly got a bit worried when he shouted down and asked if we tasted like Mouse!

On the shore we found a huge log that had been floating on the sea and landed up at the high tide mark. It was so heavy we couldn't move it at all!

Big Wooden Pole!
The run down The Forest was super, we went hunting squirrel again but as normal, all we did was see the rotten little things!

Can You See It?
OTL caught sight of a bird dancing about in the trees and he stood for five minutes before identifying it as a Great Tit!

Not The Most Exciting Bird!
Back home for some dinner and then a cuddle with OTL and a snooze before going to bed!

Bye bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Sun, then back to normal!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here!

We were out good and early this morning, and it was super sunshine for a while, until the clouds blew in!

This is what we want!
Seems like we are back to normal and the prospect of rain later, YUK!

We met up with Vinny along the path, he doesn't get to meet other dogs very often and when he does, he goes potty!

Wanna Game of Chase?
We had a run around with him and soon he was all puffed out, he is just not a fit as us girls!

On the way back to the car Holly thought she spotted a rabbit and went chasing off after it. I hung back and walked along with Old Two Legs, enjoying the sniffs.

Suddenly the hairs on my tail started to tingle, a sure sign the was a cat close by!

I had a sniff, stood up on my back legs and there, sitting in the grass, getting ready to chase after MY rabbits was this big Ginger Tom!

That was it, no one chases my rabbits without permission from Holly or me, in writing, in triplicate, signed and counter signed!

Off I went like a rocket, off went the cat like a rocket on steroids!

Gerroffamyrabbits!
I woofed for Holly to go around the bushes the other way but she got all confused and ended up chasing me!

The cat got away, but we think we have given him something to think about!

Old Two Legs has been digging again in the hole, going deeper, I reckon soon he will get the tape measure out to see if he has got to the magic 100cm!

This afternoon we have been down The Forest again, searching for the squirrels and interesting sniffs.

I tried hiding in the Bluebells but that didn't work very well.

Me, Hiding!
Then I tried jumping onto the logs and stuff, a sort of 'Log Dance' but still not as fast as those squirrels!

Log Dancing!
OTL went off and found a log of his own but instead of jumping on it, he took a picture of it 'cos it was surrounded by English Bluebells!

English Bluebells.
Back home we watched OTL measure the depth of the hole and he decided it wasn't deep enough yet.

Just how deep is he going to go?

Lamb Hearts and biscuits tonight plus what we can mug off OTL, he's got steak and chips!

We don't care much for the chips but the steak makes our mouth water!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

A Sunny Day in North Kent!

Yo Ho Woofers!

Daisy and Holly here!

What a super sunny day! This is how May should be, sunshine, balmy breezes and loads of rabbits!

We were having a great time on The Sea Wall, loads of sniffs!

Even Old Two Legs was having fun photographing the local bird life!

A male Chaffinch showing its colours!
The Chaffinch looked good with all is colours showing. The Meadow Pipit was singing its head off!

A Happy Meadow Pipit!
Holly was almost in luck, she sneaked down the side of the path and at the last moment rushed down towards the bushes.

Nearly, very nearly!
The afternoon was spent watching OTL working in the garden, digging The Hole!

Poor OTL, his back is hurting, his head is aching and the hole is getting deeper but so slowly!

Getting deeper and bigger!
At least the washing line has been dug up, that is now resting beside the house and OTL is going deeper.

He says that the hole has to be in excess of one metre deep so that the winter time doesn't freeze the water all the way to the bottom. That way, anything that is over wintering in the pond won't get frozen!

All we got to worry about is falling in and getting a bath!

See you tomorrow Woofers!

Daisy & Holly

Guess What?..........It's Raining!

Hi Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again!

We got up late today, well, Holly and I had been having a game of 'Chase' last night and then there was the late night chew of our rawhide chews and our normal patrol around the house, checking all the windows and doors.

This morning Old Two Legs was up and about before we had woken, in fact, he carried both our beds, with us still asleep inside, into the office, without waking us!

Now, Holly doesn't do mornings, she is more of a night dog, not a morning dog. I am a morning dog, I love to be up early and buzzing about getting the house to wake up!

This morning, I was just as bad as Holly!

Off we went for a walk with OTL and guess what?

It started to rain!

Now that's unusual!

A Sunny Day in North Kent!
We had just turned to go home when the first big drops of rain started to fall, so it was a quick run back to the car to get inside before we got too wet!

Quick! Back to the car!
Back home it was a a good brush and then breakfast, followed by a snooze in the 'Day Bed'

Later Holly was looking out the back window at the big hole in the garden and she reckons

OTL is not building a pond, nor is he building a reservoir, Holly says he is building an inland sea!

This hole is getting bigger and deeper as the days go by!

It's not as though he has any boats to sail on it or flocks of geese and ducks to swim around all day.

Maybe you know what he has planned?

We went out after lunch to take some stuff down to the carriers, so as we are down this way we popped into see The Forest!

It started off sunny and we chased some squirrels, woofed at a big old Labrador and generally jumped in and out of muddy puddles!

Is That A Squirrel I See Before Me?
Holly found a spot where a squirrel had stopped to eat his dinner, you can tell by the number of shells on the 'Table'!

A Squirrels Dinner Table!
We got onto a really strong 'Squirrel Sniff' and followed it until we landed on a fallen log, then the sniff just disappeared!

Holly reckons the squirrel jumped onto a branch above us but because we couldn't get up to the branch, we had to give up on the chase!

Well, it came this way!
We went past a spot where a Robin was getting all upset and twittering away at something, OTL says it reminds him of The Missus when she talks to him!

On investigating the cause, we found a Tawny Owl sitting in the tree, in amongst the leaves and being told off by two Robins!

OTL couldn't get a shot of the owl so we just stood and watched it until it got fed up with the Robins and flew off.

That was a first for OTL, he had never seen an owl in The Forest before, although with all the voles and mice you would expect there to be owls!

We headed back to the car but all of a sudden, it started to rain, then the rain turned into lumps of ice. We didn't like that, so we ran even faster to get under the trees for protection!

OTL said it was called 'Hail Stones' and it was nothing to be worried about, yeah, he had a big coat and a hat on to keep him warm, you want to try it with just a few hairs between the hail and your skin!

We got a good rub down with the towel when we got into the car and he turned on the heater so we could warm up on the way home.

Chicken tonight plus whatever we can mug off OTL.

We will have to get him back out to the hole again tomorrow, it has got to be deep enough before the skip arrives!

Bye bye for now, see you tomorrow!

Daisy & Holly

Dog Training!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here again!

We had a good laugh this morning, we were out with Old Two Legs on the beach, doing what we do best, when we saw this two legs trying to train a spaniel to 'Fetch'

First of all he stood by the seaside and threw a 'pretend duck thing' into the water. Then in a loud voice said 'Fetch'

Fetch Doggy!
The spaniel, being eager to please went flying into the water to get the 'Pretend Ducky Thing', swam a few feet out towards it, decided that he couldn't feel the bottom and realising it was just too cold for this sort of thing, turned around and went back to shore!

It's Too Cold In There, If you Want it, You Fetch It!
The two legs tried to get the spaniel to go out again and again but the dog had more sense and we heard him say that if the two legs wanted it so much, he could go and get it himself!

Around lunch time it all changed, in goes the sun and down comes the rain!

Back to normal!

We were listening to the weather forecast on the TV and the woman said that we had two wet weeks at the beginning of the month, Yeah! And? Then she said that the last two weeks looked like being the same!

How to cheer you up in one easy lesson!

What happened to The Merry Merry Month of May?

More like The Soggy Soggy Month of May!

OTL has booked a skip to load up with all that soil in the garden, he has ordered a 3m one, just in case the 1&1/2m was not big enough. (He thinks big does OTL!)

Just one small problem, he has tried to get The Missus to help him load it up.

She said that the second word was OFF!

Well, at least he won't get too hot shovelling it all, the rain will keep him cool!

Off to mug OTL for some of his dinner then a snooze before cuddling up to OTL for our 'Before Bed Snooze'

Bye bye for now, see you tomorrow!

Daisy & Holly

Sunday, Sunshine & F1 Racing

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again.

Surprise, Surprise! The Missus came with us for our morning stroll along The Sea Wall!

The sun was out and it a super stroll along the beach sniffin all the sea sniffs!

We found a whelk egg sack and had a game of chase. Then we saw Mr Corvid out looking for his breakfast.

As we turned for home, who should we see in the distance? Yep! It's Barney, so this time it was our turn to call out 'Hellooooooooo Barney!!'

We had a good time chasing the ball that he had brought with him, it was a brand new one that had not been chewed, so it tasted good as well!

Because Barney can run faster that us we demanded a head start but in the end it didn't do us much good 'cos the sight of him tearing towards us was enough to make us drop the ball!

Gissa the ball Barney!
Holly didn't do much better, she kept on dropping it as well!

Holly & Barney!
Barney started to be crafty as well by running ahead of the ball, before Old Two Legs had thrown it!

Sometimes Barney had to brake hard to get the ball!

Hey! Here comes the Ball!
We said good bye and Holly started to chase Mr Corvid along the path, just for fun!

Mr Corvid makes an escape!
We got back home and had a good snooze in the garden. We were waiting for OTL to start digging the hole for the pond but he decided to have a day off the digging, so Holly buried one of her chews in the pond instead!

After lunch we went on the New Walk, the one near to the Container Docks.

Container Docks.
Holly found a bit of a Seagull on the ground, it turned out to be a wing and Holly said that it was too salty for her and that she preferred chicken anyway!

Well, it ain't Chicken!
OTL found some more fungi and a flower he had not seen before!

More Fungi!
He said he would have a look in his Flower Books to find out it's name.

Dunno its Name!
Back home for a lazy afternoon watching the F1 racing and snoozing, in fact, a super way to spend a warm Sunday afternoon.

Tonight I think we will mug some shortbread from OTL before cuddling up and having a snooze before we go to bed.  Well, you don't want to go to bed tired, you miss all the noises outside the windows if you sleep too deeply and you can't wake everyone up to tell them about the noises!

Bye bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Saturday with Old Two Legs

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here!

Today The Missus was off early to go and see Auntie Zoe and her family, so, that left us with Old Two Legs all day!

We first went out on our morning stroll along The Sea Wall.

A Morning stroll in the sun shine
We met up with a couple of dogs, passed the time of day and a bit of 'Sniff Info'.

I Spy With My Little Eye!
Then it was back to breakfast and a snooze.

Well, that's what we had planned, but OTL got out the shovel and started digging the hole for the pond.

Well now, OTL is not as fit as he used to be on account of his great age and general 'wearing out' caused by doing too much in his earlier years.

After a couple of hours he could hardly lift the shovel, never mind filling the shovel with earth!

So, in he came and collapsed into the arm chair for a rest until lunch time!

We made sure he was awake to take us out and we got him to go down to The Forest again. It's getting real good down there, the squirrels are all over the place and Holly has even found some rabbit sniff!

I Sniff Rabbit!
I was keeping a good lookout for the squirrels!

Here Be Squirrels!
OTL kept a look out for Jays!

Retreating Jay!
Poor OTL, all he seems to get is a picture of the Jay's backside!

We spent some time just sitting on the fallen trees with OTL enjoying the sounds of the forest, that was until I spotted a squirrel, then off I went on 'The Hunt' again!

Both Holly and I had a great time!

It feels good in the sun shine!
Back home for another snooze before TM got back, even OTL had a snooze as well!

Both Holly and I gave TM a big 'Welcome Home' lick and she told us all about the news from Auntie Zoe and the family gossip!

We told her about OTL's bad back and digging the hole and chasing squirrels and rabbits!

So now it is 'Paws Up' for a good cuddle and a snooze before going to bed.

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

P.S. My shoulder doesn't hurt so much today!
