Lupins? Hollyhocks to you!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & WHAaaaaChoooooooo! & Holly back again!

He is still at it, sneezing his head off, scaring all the birds and horses!

You know we didn't see any rabbits this morning, not one, we put the blame on Old Two Legs making too much noise!

It was fun picking The Missus up last night, there we were driving through the country in the dark having to use our noses instead of our eyes to locate where we were!

Mind you, she had a go at Old Two Legs, saying that the flowers he called Lupins were instead Hollyhocks and as Holly said, Hollyhocks to you all!

Hollyhocks to you!
Poor OTL, now he is completely confused, as normal!

Of course, as we got close to The Boys house we were jumping up and down in the car and getting excited about seeing TM.

We ran into the house and covered her with licks and woofs, Holly was going potty!

This morning just before we went out to The Sea Wall, Holly came running down stairs to TM and gave her another lick, just to make sure she was real!

Out on The Sea Wall we stopped at one of our favourite sniffs, Sniff No.2.

Sniff No.2
It's where most of the dogs have their second wee after getting out of the car!

We have decided that we must get a rabbit soon, I mean, there are enough of them and we have yet to taste what they are like. Well, if Archie can get a lick of a frog, we should be able to get a rabbit!

Mind you, licking a frog won't give you a real taste but rather what the frog has been walking in!

Back to nibbling Archie!

We had some fun this afternoon when we went for our second walk, it started to rain as we were finishing the walk. That was OK but we saw a cat on our way out of the car park.

OTL had to stop at the local supermarket so we thought we had time to chase the cat and get back before OTL realised we were missing!

I have a Cunning Plan!

So, I stood guard at the windscreen while Holly tried to open the door.

OK, the coast is clear!
Trouble with the doors on the car, they are not meant for paws!

Holly said we should try crawling out of the window but I think her tummy would have got in the way!

Locks jammed, how about the window?
Does this mean the cat gets away? Oh No!

Mind you, it was raining rather heavily now, so, as Holly says, at least we're in the dry warm car and she just doesn't fancy wet cat!

I've never liked wet cats!
We got chicken tonight, freshly cooked by TM just for us!

Tomorrow, unless there is something going on OTL has forgotten, we may be going to The Marsh down in Canterbury, so, claws crossed for some sun shine!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

A Hunting Trip to find Squirrels and Lupins!

Yo Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here!

We saw a strange sight when we went out for our morning 'Patrol' along The Sea Wall, there, in the early morning mist, sailing up the Thames, just opposite Southend on Sea was a big ship. A really big cruise ship with two words painted on the side,  Peace Boat!

It's the Peace Boat!
Now, we were a little unsure what was happening, are we at war with anyone who would send a boat up the Thames? Is it one of those 'Trojan Horses' in the shape of a ship, is it a Ghost Ship?

We woofed a couple of times to say 'Hello' but it just kept sailing up the Thames heading for Tilbury.

Wasn't that where Elizabeth I did that moral boosting speech, you know, 'I may have the body of a weak and feeble  woman but we're gonna kick some Spanish Butt if they think they can set foot on my patch' or something like that!

Off we went leaving it sailing up the Thames and we went hunting Rabbit!

We found some but as soon as they saw us, they ran away!

Spanish Rabbit?
Maybe they were Spanish Rabbits and they had heard us doing the Queen Elizabeth I speech as we marched along the path!

Old Two Legs had some work to get shipped. so after we left the carriers we went down to The Forest again, it was a bit Boggy 'cos it had rained over night but it didn't stop us hunting squirrels!

We see Squirrels!
Not that we caught any, too much noise from a class of children having a Nature Lesson in the forest!

.....and this is a Tree!
We had a good laugh at OTL, poor thing. suffers from Hay Fever and he has been getting it bad the last few weeks. When you are trying to take a picture it's no good pressing the button and going HAaaaa CHOOOOO!

It makes the picture all wobbly!

So you can imagine the trouble he has been having trying to photograph the Wild Lupins in the forest.

There he is, on his knees with a nettle tickling his chin and a load of grass pollen making a bee line for his nose!

WHAaaaaaaaaaa  CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Another wobbly picture!

Wild Lupins
He must have taken about a hundred pictures but they we all wobbly! These are the only ones he got that are worth showing!

Really Wild Lupin!

We are waiting for The Missus to telephone to tell OTL to pick her up, but it doesn't stop us from rushing to the window every time we hear a noise, just in case it's her!

Friday tomorrow and we may be out squirrel hunting again, if there is no rain!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly and (WHAaaaa  CHOOOoooo!)   OTL!

Off to Work with OTL!

Hi Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here!

We have had a busy day today, first of all there was our walk along The Sea Wall, keeping an eye of what is going on!

Keeping The Sea Wall Safe!

Then there is the 'Spotting Strange Movements' along the beach.

Wossat?
Then there is the 'Keeping Everyone In Order' especially the Starlings on the beach!

Oi! What are you doing down there?

After all that and just in case you think we spend most of the day asleep in our 'Day Beds', we went off to work with Old Two Legs!

We had an exciting afternoon guarding the car from all those men in the yard who kept coming up and going 'Oooo! aren't they Sweet?'

OTL was not allowed to take photo's, so you will have to close your eyes and imagine!

Well, we woofed them men away and kept OTL's tools safe and made sure the car was not messed about with!

We know how to sort that lot out!

Just for a treat, OTL took us for a run through the forest on our way down to work and then a run around The Farm on the way back!

We got in this evening and now are tired and hungry puppy's.

So, we have wolfed down a good half a tin of Doggy Scoff plus mugged OTL for some of his dinner as well!

The rest of the evening has been spent snoozing on the sofa!

A well earned rest after a hard day!

Holly's 'Sore Paw' is getting better and she is not limping so much now. She reckons that like Archie, we will soon have frogs in the pond, but she wants to know if they taste like chicken!

See you tomorrow!

We think The Missus is coming back tomorrow evening, that should be loads of fun, serious licking time!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly (Ace Guard Dogs!)

A visit to The New Park and a Sore Paw!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with you again.

The Missus has been telling us the tale of young Archie getting his fur trimmed in bits, you know, a quick snip here then later another snip there. It must be the longest hair cut on record!

We went down The Sea Wall a bit earlier today, just to see if we can catch a rabbit, we chased them all through the bushes and even kicked up a stray cat that was trying to have a snooze in the sunshine!

Then back home for breakfast a brush down and The Missus and Old Two Legs left us on our own!

I mean, they just upped and left us for a couple of hours or so, must have been important to leave us that long!

Holly and I coped, we just curled up on the sofa and enjoyed a super 'After Breakfast Snooze!'

OTL had some work to be got out and was very busy in the office. Later we went out again along The Sea Wall where we woofed at all the fishermen who were down there teaching their worms to swim!

The Worm ran off that way!
Off we went with OTL and Tm over to The Boys house but they weren't there so we left TM to do some baby sitting and went out with OTL down to The New Park for a run.

It was a bit hot but we enjoyed a game of 'Chase The Ball'

Me with The Ball!
That was until Holly hurt her paw. She was limping 'cos her front left paw hurt every time she put any weight on it, so, we had a rest in the Indian TeePee!

Mind my Sore Paw!
I had a game of 'Hide & Seek' in the grass with OTL.

Me Hiding!
I would hide and OTL tried to 'spot' me then I would raise my head and go Boo!

Boo! I'm Here!

Holly was still saying she had a sore paw so OTL picked her up and carried her back on his shoulder to the car!

This evening she has been a bit off her food and even after OTL had a good look at both her front paws she was still playing the 'Old Soldier' by cuddling up to OTL on the sofa.

Mind you, when it was time to go to bed she ran up the stairs and jumped onto the bed to get her chew, so her paw can't hurt that much!

Let's see what tomorrow brings.

Bye bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Gentle Monday.

Hi Ho Woofers!

It's Daisy & Holly here!

We love Mondays, they are just like Sundays but not so many people on The Sea Wall. Just a fisherman or two and the Wormy Men out on the mud!

We were looking on the TV at the weather report and they were forecasting rain for us to day, well what they said was 'Sun with some occasional rain showers', which, when translated into real language reads, Rain Storms, Floods, Plagues of Locust and in the afternoon, Changeable'!

So, out we went all expecting to get washed off the face of the earth and what did we get?

Sunshine and some Clouds!

This mornings weather!
No rain, no storms, just pleasant breezes and smiles from every one we met!

We spotted a boat being chased by an Under Sea Monster, Holly said that it was slowly catching the boat but I wasn't so sure!

It's Behind You!
Then we spotted some helicopters flying overhead. Holly played a joke on Old Two Legs by calling out 'Look! Dragonflies!'

Look Dragonflies!
We stalked a Two Legs who was walking along eating a sandwich, I ran up and went WOOF! expecting him to drop it and Holly was ready to rush in and grab it.

OK, Get Ready to WOOF!
I went WOOF! and he ignored me as though he was deaf!

We had a little rest, just to look at the sea and watch the ships go by when I felt a bug walking through my fur, just under my tail!

Me, doing 'The Stare'!

I wasn't having that, so I gave him 'The Stare' and then smacked it with my paw!

You know, it just carried on walking! Tough things these Beetle type bugs!

We carried on watching the world go by and OTL moved down the wall a bit, just in front of the bug, so, we watched it to see what would happen and yes, it started to crawl up OTL's leg!

OMG! It's Going Up His Leg!
Then it disappeared! Now we don't know where it went to, maybe OTL will find it later!

Holly spotted some flowers that she said, looked like those Whiz Bangs they set off in November. You can see it burning down the flower fuse and the petal things are the sparks!

Holly's Whiz Bang Flower.
Holly said that she was going to get her own back on the Whiz Bangs, so she wee'd on the flower!

Take That!

It's good when you can get your own back!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Another Funny Sunday!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with you again!
It has been a super day today, all sunshine and rabbit chasing!
We started with our normal walk along The Sea Wall with Old Two Legs, out to sea was a sailing barge going past, Holly reckons it was called the 'Filthy Lil' but I think she made that up!
Still, it looked a pretty sight sailing along in the sun shine!

'The Filthy Lil'

Holly was having a fun time racing up and down the path, in fact at one time we both were chasing each other all over the place, woofing and tail twisting as well!

Holly on a Run!
We met up with the two Old Lady's who reckon they know every sniff on the Sea Wall and beyond!

Good Morning Girls!
They did show us a good sniff up the grass bank that Holly and I missed the last time around!

All of a sudden we heard a big Yahoooooooo Girlies! And Barney came crashing through the grass and bracken to see what we were doing!

Hellooooooooooooooooooooo!
We played 'Chase The Ball' and although he was much faster, I did manage to get the ball a couple of times!

Gissa The Ball Lanky!

We went out this afternoon and got some plants for the pond, loads of money but not very many plants! OTL was crying again, he said they were as expensive as the vet's!

So now we have our 'Boggy Bit' as OTL calls it, and he has planted some reed type of plant there and he has put a couple of lily plants in the water, one will have white flowers and the other will have a reddy pink flower. So, with all that it is a case of 'Sit back and wait' (for about two years!)

Still, that will give him enough time to get on with the rest of his plans for the garden. Holly says he has plans for a Stonehenge building down the bottom of the garden and a cave system under the shed, complete with stalagmites and stalactites!

In her dreams!

See you tomorrow!

The Pond's Progress!

Yo Ho Woofers!

It's Daisy & Holly here again!

This morning we went out with Old Two Legs for our stroll along The Sea Wall. When we arrived at the Sea Wall Path, we saw a couple of strangers sitting by their fishing rods teaching their worms to swim.

Holly said that we should check to see if they have fishing licenses to fish from our Sea Wall!

So, being ahead of Holly and OTL, I went up behind them and said 'Oi! You got a Fishing Licence?'

Trouble was, all they heard was me woofing at them! You know, they should really learn to understand 'Doggy'

Oi! You!
Anyway, in the end they only laughed and took no further notice of me!

You wait, next time I will pinch their worms, then they will be sorry!

Holly met up with Scruff and Bozo, well, that's what OTL calls them.

We all said hello and Holly thought that they were taking too long having a 'Hello Sniff', so she turned around and asked if they wanted to buy a guide book while they were here!

Hey! You wanna Guide Book?
That told them! Some Doggy's have no manners!

We saw a Super Big ship coming into Sheerness Docks and it was so big that they sent out three tugs to help it dock!

You got a Licence for that thing?
This afternoon OTL went off on his own to get some bits for the pond and when he came back he had 300Kg of Black Cobble Stones. These are for filling in the gaps between the rocks he has pinched from the rockery!

These are good 'cos when they are wet, they are black stones but when they got dry, they turn a sort of white colour!

He's getting there!
Holly says it looks real smart and I agree, except for that stone pigeon that OTL has stuck on a stone at the shallow end!

We next have to put some plants in the pond to oxygenate the water so that all those insects can live in the pond.

We found a good spot for a new sniff, all we need is some goose poo to ferment on the side and it will be complete!

Goose Poo or Heron Poo?
OTL says we have got to keep an eye out for Herons landing in the garden 'cos they are attracted but garden ponds 'cos they are normally full of fish!

We are not sure how long we have to leave the pond to settle before introducing plants, so, we may go off to the Aquatic Centre that sells all the plants for the pond and get some advice!

So, that's all for today, OTL is now complaining about his bad back and how worn out he is and The Missus is taking no notice what so ever!

Some things never change!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

Barney's Jungle Training and Holly's Diving Plans!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again!

We have been having some fun today, we have been counting up the number of 'Sniffs' we know and so far we have got up to Seventy Five!

Now I'm not talking about the sniff that is here today and gone tomorrow, they don't count. I'm talking about the sniffs that are always there and change subtly with the temperature or rain or sun shine or if someone has stepped on it.

Some sniffs hardly change at all and some dance about all over the place!

Now, for instance, the sniff on the stones just after the car park by The Sea Wall. Well that has loads of doggy sniffs 'cos after getting out of the car what is the first thing you want to do?

Yep! and there is a lot of that there!

There are other sniffs like along the Riverside Walk where there is a load of Goose Poo. Now that only changes if the sun is shining and it is a bit warm. Other than that it is a sort of weedy, muddy sort of sniff with a bit of shrimp thrown in as well!

Sniff No. 37
This is us on a Goose Poo, at location number thirty seven!

We were wandering along The Sea Wall when Barney jumped out of the undergrowth and shouted BOO! Bet you didn't see me! He said as he bounded along, 'I've been practising my 'Jungle Warfare trick of sneaking up on everyone'

Didn't See Me!

Holly said that she had seen and heard him coming a mile off and he made enough noise to waken all the dogs in Sheerness!

Oooo! Said Barney, who's got out of the basket on the wrong side?

I heard  you ages ago!
Then he gave Holly's ear a quick lick!

Com'on Cheer up Holly Dog!
That sorted her out!

We told him about the Oyster Shell we had seen on the beach and the funny sniff it was giving off and he said that we shouldn't sniff Oysters unless there was an 'R' in the month!

How many 'R's in June?
We had never heard of that before but didn't say anything in case it upset him!

We have been out with Old Two Legs visiting places that sell stones 'cos he wants to put them around the pond edge and in between the rocks but we couldn't find the right ones, so, he will have to come up with 'Plan No. 2'

Holly said we should put old logs and reeds by the side of the pond, just like in the parks!

Or maybe we should put a diving board by the side and we can all jump in together!

Put the Diving Board Here!
Trouble is, I've never seen her any deeper in water than getting her tummy wet, so what is all this 'Diving In' stuff?

See you tomorrow!
Luv,

Daisy & Holly

We get some Flotsam & Jetsam.

Yo Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here with you again on a super sunny day!

We were out good and early with Old Two Legs 'cos he has a long list of stuff to do today.

We were running along The Sea Wall and spotted a strange looking thing on the shore.

'Ere! Wot's This?
So OTL walked down and picked it up to show us. He said it was a thing they hung on the sides of boats so that if anyone fell into the water, they could hang onto these things until rescue arrived. Holly said it was no good for us puppy's 'cos we couldn't get our teeth around the ring!

I said we could hang onto the rope instead and OTL said that was a good idea and we should remember that if ever we fell into the sea!

Holly said we should take it home and put it beside the new pond 'cos that was deep and we would need help if we ever fell in!

We decided that we were more at home on dry land, especially in amongst the grass!

This is a safe place to be Sis!
You can't beat the feel of solid earth under your paws!

Ya! We Love Life! and Chews and Chicken and Running and Sniffs and OTL and TM and.........
A bit further on we ran into Barney who was having a 'Mad Moment' running flat out along the path. He stopped to say 'Helloooooo!' and 'Look My Back Legs Have Shrunk!' then was off in a flash!

My Legs Have Shrunk!
Back home OTL spread the sheet of Butyl out over the pond and began to fill the pond with water. It took ages to fill but in the end it was up near the top. It certainly looks impressive!

Holly was not too sure on the positioning of the 'Life Belt Rubber Ringy Thingy' She said it should be hanging on the kitchen door with a long rope attached!

....and just How Do I Throw That?
OTL started to place some rocks around the edges and was carefully washing off the bits of mud that had attached itself to the rock when The Missus came out and asked what are you doing? OTL said he was washing the mud off but TM had thought it was some 'technical pond making thing' that he was doing!

Really, she has no idea! Back to card making for her and no more sherry for her this afternoon!

OTL spotted a snail on an ear of wheat in our garden and couldn't resist a photo!

Snail on an Ear of Corn!

We went out with OTL & TM to have a look at getting some pebble sized rocks to go around the pond. OTL asked the lady how much they cost and she said it was £3 for a basket the size of a shoe box!

OTL turned a funny colour and had to sit down!

Back home he was messing about robbing the rockery of suitable rocks and washing the mud off when a Damsel Fly landed on one of the rocks in the pond!

Trouble was, OTL had just emptied the bucket of water onto the rock to wash off the earth that was sticking to it.

We never found the Damsel Fly so we reckon it flew off to warn his mates about some Water Throwing Dodgy Geezer in our garden!

We found another of those 'Life Belt Rubber Ringy Thingys' on the beach and hung it up in the garden on the tree, now we can fall in the pond from both ends and be rescued. Providing we don't get knocked out when the 'Life Belt Rubber Ringy Thingy' is thrown at us!

OTL said we should call them names, Flotsam & Jetsam he reckons 'cos they came from the sea!

Holly said we should put some fish in the pond then they could save us if we fell in!

Will there be enough room for Fish?
Enough for today, early night and a watch by the window for more Damsel Fly visitors!

Bye bye for now.

Luv,

Daisy & Holly
