Windy Out Today!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here!

Have you noticed the change? We have, the wind has picked up and blowing in off the North Sea. The waves were bigger than normal and there was a definite draft 'Under the Tail' if you know what I mean!

Waves are getting bigger!

Old Two Legs even put on his warm winter hat, the one that has ear flaps and a flap to cover his forehead if the wind gets too bad!

We spotted a floating buoy thingy getting bashed about in the waves, it had come off something but it was too big to be used as a ball, so we left it along to have a swim!

I did suggest a race along the wall again and maybe Holly could got for a swim!

Holly said 'No', well, she also said a lot of other things but the answer was 'No'!

So, with that decided, we had a race along the grass path back to the car, well, breakfast was calling us!

 OTL had to go out for a while but when he returned, it was just in time for our lunchtime walk!

There's nothing like a lunchtime walk after snoozing all morning in the Day Bed!

We spotted two ships having a race and Holly says it was the Nelly May sailing barge who was in the lead!

Then we saw the Wormy Man out on the mud flats, he was standing there at the head of a ditch he had dig in the mud, Holly said that showed he had been chasing a worm through the mud and maybe, the worm had won!

As we were having a laugh about that, a two legs cycled past on his bike, nearly running Holly over, well, she wasn't going to stand for that, so she chased him down the path woofing at him to GerroffanWalk, but I don't think he understood!

 We met up with a new doggy on The Sea Wall, he said he was called Radley!

Hello, I'm Radley!

His owner said that his wife had named him and he was called after the Handbag!

Well, OTL had a laugh about that but it seemed to upset Radley and he asked OTL if he was going to be made into a Handbag when he got older!

I'm not a Handbag am I?

 OTL said that if anyone was going to make a Handbag out of him he should tell us and we will stop them!

Radley said that made him feel a lot better and thanks for the reassurance!

 We said Bye and went off on a hunt for fungi for OTL.

 Look what we found for him!

Golden Waxcap?

 It was a young fungi but we think it maybe a Golden Waxcap 'cos they are very common and found in the sort of place this one was growing!

So, that made OTL happy and we got home to settle down to a bit of serious snoozing before dinner time!

OTL has got Bambi Burgers tonight, so, we are getting ready for some serious mugging!

Holly Gets all Hooked up!

Daisy & Holly here!

This misty weather is a real pain in the tail! We haven't seen the sun for ages!

Old Two Legs says it's about to turn and we should get winds from the North, clearing away the mist, but, it's going to get colder!

It didn't seem like it this morning, you know there wasn't even a decent dew on the plants and spiders web!

As Holly says.....

This mist is Boring!

 We decided that we would play F1 Racing and Holly got off to a bad start so I won by a mile!

I Won Again!

OTL found a very bright reddy or orangey looking fungi and we think it is the Parrot Waxcap! This is a very common fungi but it's just that we haven't seen it before!

Back home and after a brush and some breakfast OTL went out into the garden for some more work!

He is trying to clear the back section of the garden and turn it into a grass free area with some wild flower meadow strips in the sunny bit up in the corner. Trouble is, the ground is a bit wet and the mud was sticking to his boots and we reckon he grew another two inches!

It was only when his back ached that he decided to pack it in for the day!

Our lunch time walk was interesting!

First of all we lost the ball that OTL was throwing for us, it bounced into the long grass and we couldn't find it! That upset Holly 'cos it was a super small ball, (OTL called it a Golf Ball) and it bounced all over the place!

Maybe we will find it another day.

After giving up the search, Holly got tangled up in some string stuff, OTL bellowed at Holly to 'Stay', and because his voice was so loud, Holly stopped straight away, which was lucky she did!

OTL then unwrapped a length of fishing line from around Holly's back legs and untangled two big fishing hooks from her fur! He said it was lucky that they hadn't dug into her legs as she was running along!

Naughty fishermen, leaving that sort of dangerous stuff where dogs and birds could get caught up in it!

We had great fun chasing each other along The Sea Wall and this time I was on the path while Holly ran along the slope!

Yet again I win!

 Holly said it was difficult running on the slope 'cos her legs keep running towards the sea!

I keep going down hill!

Also, running on the slope gets you all out of breath quicker than running on the flat! Well, that's what she says but I call it a rotten excuse for loosing!

When we got back, we had a good snooze on the sofa and woke up just as The Missus was banging the pots and pans in the kitchen, so that means dinner is on it's way!

The Day After!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here, another day older!

With all the things we did yesterday, Holly must have picked up a 'Birthday Bug' 'cos today she has the 'Grumble Tum' and is off her food, which is really serious if your name is Holly!

She has managed a few mouthfuls of breakfast and a little mugging of Old Two Legs at lunch time, so, we think she will survive!

OTL was all happy this morning 'cos he's got a New Toy. It's come all the way from America or to be exact Lake Hiawatha New Jersey!

 It has taken twenty days to arrive with most of the time it has been sitting in the UK Customs shed awaiting clearance!

Now with this new toy, he says, he will be able to photograph of a fleas backside.

It is still misty and damp out there on The Sea Wall, no matter how much we tried, we still got all wet and damp!

OTL was even disappointed he couldn't find any new fungi, except this little Mycena he found on the path!

It's about the size of a two pence piece!

 Holly spent the morning on the sofa watching the birds in the garden and snoozing and at lunch time she said she felt a little better.

It's something I ate!

So, off we went to The Sea Wall again, we said hello to a Black Headed Gull who was searching for some cockles, we know that 'cos he called out .......

Which made a change from Holly calling out GotanySandwiches?

OTL was having fun as he found a fungi called 'Shaggy Inkcap' and it's also known as 'Lawyers Wig'!

It was Horrible, all dripping black stuff off the edges!

OTL said that they used to gather the drips and use it as ink in the 'Old Days', Holly said that he means, 'when he was a lad'!

We got fed up with the fungi, so Holly and I had a game of chase on the beach, which was good 'cos it showed that Holly was feeling a lot better!

 OTL mentioned that we had not had our 'Birthday Picture' and that we should have a record of what we looked like on our birthday, so, we had a tidy up and shook the sand off our tails and struck a 'Pose'!
 

Holly & Daisy Three Years Old!

OTL says that we have got a booking at the 'Poodle Parlour', Friday week, so we will be all super smart and 'Looking the Business' and we have got to have our picture taken for the 'Christmas Card'.

Holly says we should roll in some mud before OTL takes our picture, just for fun!

I don't think I'm that brave!

I think we got Doggy Scoff tonight and OTL's got curry so we may get a nibble of the Nan Bread dipped in the curry sauce, if we're lucky!

Happy Birthday to Us!

Hi Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here and today is our Birthday!

Yep! Today we are Three Years Old!

In doggy terms, that is real 'Grown Up'. Our three years is about twenty eight years for you two legs!

We are in our Prime and to prove it, here we are enjoying and after chew snooze!

We went out for our morning walk and it was a bit strange 'cos the sea mist was in and we couldn't see much at all! We could hear the fog horn from Sheerness blowing away but that was it, no lights, no ships and no Wormy Men!

We did find a football on the beach at the high tide mark and Old Two Legs threw it up on the path for us to play with, unfortunately it was a bit too big for us, so we left it on a bench for someone else to play with!

OTL was all keen to take pictures of cobwebs covered in water droplets from the mist, it was only the breeze that stopped him making a good job of focusing!

Getting Better but no Water!

Lunch time we went down to The Forest ''cos we haven't been down there for a while, it was muddy, like, deep quaggy mud that oozed between you claws and stuck to your tummy and it was so dark that OTL had to use the flash on his camera just to see us!

Even when we got out from under the trees it was still dark! Holly said that it was not as much fun as she thought it was going to be and because I had only spotted one squirrel, I had to agree with her. So, back to the car for another rub down with our towel and a cuddle up to OTL as we drove home!

 Back home we found that The Missus was back from her visit to the optician and on the way back she had gone into the butchers and got us some beef for tonight's dinner!!!!!

Now, how much much better can it get!

So, off we go for our 'Birthday Dinner' and we will see you tomorrow, all three years and one day!

Sunday is for swimming!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again!

We had a laugh this morning, Holly and I jumped up onto Old Two Legs bed and crept up to his head, then we both sat on The Missus and licked OTL's ear and at the same time our tails were wagging at full speed!

That means TM was getting a good whacking while we were licking OTL, but, when we turned around to lick TM, OTL got the wagging tail treatment!

It was at that point TM decided to get up and make another card and I decided it was time for a wee!

Holly decided to stay cuddled up to OTL and off I went, but when I got down to the kitchen and TM opened the door, I stuck my nose out and it got wet!

That was it, I'm not going out in that!

So, I backed up, and shot back up to a nice warm bed!

The walk along The Sea Wall was wet and damp, in fact more wet than damp!

This is Not Funny!

OTL insisted that we do the 'Full Circuit' today so off we went, getting wetter and wetter!

I am More Than Damp Now!

By the time we got back to the car we were WET! As OTL was giving us a rub down with our towel, the rain was blowing almost horizontally into OTL and he was getting wet, really wet and the water was now running down his trousers, on the inside!

Poor OTL, his boots were getting wet, on the inside!

Back home to another dry and then breakfast of chicken and after that, a snooze!

Just snoozing Sunday away!

Lunch time came and we were a bit wary of going out, well, it had rained this morning and there was no way of knowing if it had stopped!

OTL took a look out side and said it was only 'spitting', so, off we went.

I must admit, it didn't look too bad on the way down there but as we got there, it started again!

It looked like the only animal that didn't mind the rain were the Brent Geese on the mud flats!

Wunderful Rain!

 Holly and I had a chat and then I did my 'I want Summat' thump on the back of OTL's leg.

He turned around and said 'Yesss?'

I then gave him the 'Let's go home' look and Holly joined in as well, so, OTL got the message!

Off we went, back to the car!

 But we didn't go home!

No, we went off to the Doggy Shop!

Oh WOW! You should have sniffed the place, it had Rabbits and Guinea Pigs and rat looking things other yummy looking food!

OTL went around with a wire basket and filled it up with our super sniffin stuff and he put some biscuits in the basket and they had the ingredients listed as Rabbit and Duck!

Now, as Holly says, this is going to be interesting!

We will let you know tomorrow what happens!

Super Lazy Saturday!

Daisy & Holly back with you again!

We had some sort of a panic this morning, Old Two Legs came rushing out of the bathroom saying that there was a 'Great Spot' on the peanut feeder. He rushed to get his camera and ran off a few shots, trouble was, the Woodpecker was hiding around the back of the feeder!

Down on The Sea Wall we saw Mrs Cord searching for breakfast, she said that it was a bit 'Bleak' today 'cos the cockles have all gone into hiding!

Back home we had our brush then OTL did our chicken breakfast which was super 'cos he leaves the skin on the chicken when he cuts it up for us!

The Missus had gone out to her 'Village Crop' today, so we had OTL to ourselves!We could get up on the sofa and have a nibble of our chews then fall asleep for a snooze, then wake up and have fun jumping on the sofa pretending to be birds flying through the air!

Lunch time we went down The Sea Wall again and chased after a couple of rabbits but as normal they were too quick to disappear down their house holes!

We met up with a young lad we had met before, a quick sniff and a 'Hello' and he was off!

Can't stop, dinner calling!

 Holly said it was because he had dinner about this time of the day!

A bit further on we met up with a youngster who was only fourteen weeks old! I could almost remember that age 'cos that was when I met up with OTL and TM!

We all had a sniff and made him welcome to The Sea Wall and after he had played up to OTL, we said we would look forward to our next meeting.

I'm fourteen weeks old!

Back home to a snooze on the sofa again before TM comes back and clears us off! OTL was suposed to do some gardening but it was too wet to do anything, so he has promised to 'Have a Look Again' during the week if we get a dry day!

Oh Yes, we believe you!

Never mind, we think it's Meat Balls tonight, so we are getting ready for some serious mugging!

Not sure what the weather is going to be tomorrow but with a bit of luck it will be dry!

Yuk!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with you again!

What a day today! It started off this morning when we dived into the garden for our 'Early Morning Wee' and it was raining! So, instead of our inspection of the garden and a check on all the boundaries, it was a quick wee and back indoors!

It wasn't much better when Old Two Legs took us out to The Sea Wall, nasty little spots of rain falling down. You know, not enough to justify putting our coats on but bad enough to make us blink as we trotted along the path!

I don't do this rain stuff!

 We told OTL we didn't like this rain, but, as he said, 'Your here, so make the best of it 'cos it's going to get wetter later!'

How does he know these things?

A bit further on we spotted The Wormy Man walking back, I bet it was getting too wet for him!

The Wormy Man Returns!

We carried on, not stopping too long at the sniffs, it's not so much fun when the rain is running under your collar!

Then Holly says, 'That's it, I've had enough, I'm going home!'

 And Off we went!

Enough is Enough!

Back home we had Lambs Heart for breakfast, super! Followed after by a half of a juicy carrot!

Come lunch time, I gave OTL the normal 'Shove in The Back' to say that it's time we went for a walk.

Little did we know it was raining, the sort of rain that makes you very wet, all the way through to you tummy!

Out we went to the car, got into the car and a pleasant drive through the puddles out to The Sea Wall. Now, I knew there was something not quite right when OTL dressed us up in our Rain Coats and put the collar up!

Then he put the hood of his coat up, over his hat! Now that is a sign of real wetness!

Out we went, without the camera, which is another bad sign, and into a force 8 gale with horizontal rain!

Holly thought she had spotted a rabbit but it was only a bit of paper blowing across the grass!

I spotted a place out of the wind where I could have a wee.

Holly then joined me and we both had a wee.

Then we chased after OTL who was 'Quick Marching' down the path. Well we got to the half way spot and although we were dragging our paws, OTL offered us the choice, carry on for the whole walk or back to the car?

BACK TO THE CAR!!

Off we went like Rocket Powered Doggies!

We didn't even stop for a rabbit sniff on the path!

Back at the car, we got in and OTL opened the back of the car and we stood on the parcel shelf while OTL gave us a good rub down with the towel, we were OK on our backs but our legs, tummy and heads were soaked through!

After the rub down we both headed for the car heater on the passenger side and had a sort of mobile  'Blow Dry' in the foot well!

Back home for a second dry with warm towels and then a snooze on the sofa while nibbling at our carrots!

That was it really, the rain stopped any adventures and OTL went back to the office to find some dry trousers!

We have spent the afternoon snoozing, (very hard work!) and now we are getting ready to do some mugging as soon as OTL sits down to dinner.!

Tomorrow should be a bit drier so with a bit of luck OTL can do some gardening and get fed up so he then takes us down to The Forest in search of Fungi, with a bit of luck!

Well that's the plan!

Holly finds The Cow Poo Pat!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here again!

Today we have had a Super Time!

First thing this morning it was off to The Sea Wall as normal and we found that they have been running around with the grass cutter again and chopped down most of the weeds and stuff where us dogs use as a 'Notice Board'!

Now everything is all mixed up and we can't tell who is around and who's just passing!

You know, it will take at least a week before we get it all sorted again!

Mobile Crane?

Holly spotted this Mobile Crane going past and wanted to know why the crane never fell over when it lifted anything?

Old Two Legs then pointed out the obvious, you never lift anything that would be heavy enough to tip you over!

Makes sense really!

 Another thing we spotted was a bunch of flowers tied onto a bench. 

In fact it was the bench where OTL took that picture of the rain drops!

Remembering Mum?

 It could be someone remembering Gladys which is a kind thought and I'll remember that next time we all sit there and watch the ships go by!

This afternoon we went to deliver some stuff and when we had finished, we were very close to The Farm, which we hadn't been to visit for absolutely ages! So, we stopped there and rushed off to see what sniffs were around!

Well.

We started off by walking along the path at the top of the hill.

There were a few good sniffs that Holly and I shared.

Then, out of the corner of my eye, down the bottom of the hill, mooching along, was a,

Pheasant!

Off I went, full speed, down hill, tail out straight to aid wind flow!

 I was steaming!

Well, in the end the bird flew off into the trees and kept up a laughing sort of noise just to let me know I wasn't fast enough and as I couldn't fly, there was no way I was going to catch that Pheasant!

Holly in the mean time had chased after me down the hill but slightly to the left. Suddenly she stopped and spun around and then fell over, straight into a pile of cow poo that had been spread over the field as fertiliser!

Wot Luck!

It was well fermented, crusty around the edge but still soft in the middle!

OTL was busy picking up two piles of poo that we had left him before chasing off, so, he didn't see what Holly was doing until it was too late and by the time he had started calling us back, I also had found a super pile as well!

Just having a roll!

 Well, by the time we had finished we were both honking like every dog should honk, if we had the chance! As we walked along all the air seemed to 'Steam' around us and all the bugs in the grass flew up in the air, just to get a sniff of us!

Were we 'The Business' or Wot?

Back home it was a different matter, A large bowl of warm water and 'Doggy Shampoo' soon reduced us to smelling all flowery and the poo got washed off!

It's just not fair!

Well, at least OTL will give us a cuddle tonight and we can sit next to him on his chair while we watch a DVD and nibble on some shortbread!

So, that was our day, we hope you enjoyed yours just as much!

He's Back!

Daisy & Holly here!

Loads of fun today, Old Two Legs overslept, so that means he didn't get up until eight fifteen!

Not that it worried us at all 'cos we, being professional snoozers, were enjoying an 'After Wake Up Snooze' while he had a shower!

The walk along The Sea Wall was very pleasant, the sun was shining, the wind was low and the sniffs were interesting!

We spotted a Black Headed Gull in the shallows looking at himself in the water reflection and says that he looked Good!

I do look Good!

That was until Holly shouted out, 'Never mind the looks, do you taste like Chicken?'

That shut him up!

I spotted a snail doing funny things with his eye stalks, he was waving them all over the place, most unsnail like!

So, I asked him what he was doing and without even pausing he answered, 'Tai Chi!'

 Now, that's the first time I've seen that!

I was about to engage him in conversation regarding his actions when I heard,

Yooooo Hooooo Girlieeeees!

Barney's Back!

Hello Girlie's he said, it's been a long time since I last saw you two! We had a quick chat 'cos his owner wanted to get on with the walk but Barney has been away for over three weeks holiday and has had a great time. He promised to give us a better story the next time he sees us, so we are looking forward to that and of course, we have got to tell him all about our holiday and the rabbits we chased!

Back home for breakfast, (Doggy Scoff, Yuk!) and a snooze before the lunchtime walk!

Lunch time was interesting on the beach, you see we reckon it was a Spring Tide today and the water has come right up the beach!

If you compare the picture with OTL's past pictures of the beach you will see how far up the beach the water has come!

You know, it came so far up that the Sand Rabbit's hole has disappeared!

 Even Holly decided that it was not worth having a paddle!

Back home and we had a good snooze before dinner, OTL's dinner that is, curry and rice tonight, so we are both looking forward to some Nan Bread dipped into the sauce!

Then a cuddle and shortbread with maybe a nibble of anything else he has found in the cupboard!
