A Day of Wet Tails and Damp Paws!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here with you again!

Today has been one of those 'Snoozy Days', you know, a day when all your plans have to be put away for when the sun shine comes back!

We were up good and early this morning, we had to, The Missus was up early finishing off collecting all the bits for her 'Master Class' and making so much noise that we expected the neighbours at the end of the road to complain about it!

Even Old Two Legs wrapped his head in a pillow and groaned!

Mind you, he does that most mornings!

After we waved TM good bye, we set off for The Sea Wall and guess what?

It was raining!

It was also very misty out to sea and we saw something very strange out there, towards Essex, where everything is strange!

It looked like a very low ship, like one of those rubbish barges, but it seemed to have sort of lattice work holding a shed up in the air.

Holly said it was part of an oil rig, on its side heading out to sea to drill for worms!

I thought it was some sort of crane jib being towed along by a tug.

OTL didn't seem to know what it was, so, being all 'Mr Clever Chops' he took a photo of it and showed us what it was, 'cos he can zoom right into the middle of the picture with his super duper doggy do dah camera!

Strange ship!
Yep, we understood straight away, it was Southend on Sea pier!

It was all the mist behind it obscuring the land, that's what confused us!

Back home for some Lambs Heart and biscuits and a snooze while OTL gets going doing some printing and framing of his pictures. Some of the Glencoe trip and others of flowers and trees.

Someone has asked to see samples of his work and who knows, they may even order some for their shops!

That  means he could be famous and have to go away and do 'Signings' of his work for people who buy the pictures and of course we would be just as famous as we would have to accompany him everywhere 'cos we are his 'Personal Body Guards'!

That of course meant that we didn't go into the garden to chase OTL around and play ball and jump into the piles of leaves or chase the cats.

All because OTL was working, oh, and also because it was pouring down with rain!

Our lunch time walk was very short, we jumped out of the car, rushed across the grass, had a quick wee and told OTL that we wanted to go home again 'cos it was too wet in the rain, even with our coats on!

You know, it was so wet and rainy, he didn't even take his camera with him!

So, the afternoon was spent snoozing in our day beds while OTL was 'Manufacturing', that was until TM came back.

We gave her a good 'Welcome Home' lick and settled down to a cuddle after mugging OTL for some of his dinner!

We have plans for tomorrow, depending on the rain, it involves Rabbits and Squirrels and Rats and Mouses and sun bathing by the pond.

As we said, it depends on the rain!

See you tomorrow!

We Oh So Nearly Got It This Time!

Hi Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with you again.

Today we have been very good, Old Two Legs has been doing some printing today and that always gets him wound up. First the colours aren't quite right, then the printer runs out of ink, then it takes too long to pump the ink around the system, so he ends up with pictures where everyone looks like the colour of plums!

Oh, you should hear him getting 'The Grumbles' when it doesn't go right!

We almost got it right today.

On our morning run Holly found a good sniff, in fact it was so good that reckoned that the rabbit was still there in the grass!

I Know Your there, Show Yourself!
I said that there was no way a rabbit was going to stay still and let a dog get so close and suggested she has been sniffing OTL's printer ink again!

Then, just as I said that, out flew the rabbit!

Well, Holly went right, I went left and we closed in on it and the speed of light!

The only problem was, this rabbit was going at Warp Factor 29.75~!

OK, we've got it trapped now!
Some how and I really don't understand how, that rabbit got to the hole before us and with a bob of its tail, disappeared down the hole!

We stood there and Grumbled and Woofed and even blew Raspberries, but it wouldn't come out again!

Come out you coward!
We had to go back home and tell The Missus haw we missed out on a Rabbit Stew for breakfast.

So to celebrate, she gave us Doggy Scoff!

Our walk down The Sea Wall after lunch was fun. Holly spotted some Gulls sitting on the breakwater waiting for the tide to go out.

Look! she said, if you swim out and catch them, there is enough for Breakfast, Lunch, Tea, Dinner and Supper!

A Days Supply of Food!
I did suggest that she might like to swim out, or in her case, she could pretend to be a big ice berg floating down the Medway!

That didn't go down too well!

OTL spotted the Egret flying along the shore line and said that it looked like two birds birds.

It took us a moment or two to work out what he was on about!

One or Two Birds?
Holly found this super sniff on the sea wall and pronounced it was Worm.

So we reckon that either the Wormy Men had left their bucket on the wall and the worms got out and ran away, or, the fishermen had put their worms there  while they were fishing and forgot about them!

Mmm, Wormy Sniffs!
Back home OTL spent all afternoon clearing the pond of leaves and trimming the tree in the garden, he was getting too upset with the printer and took it out on the tree. Poor thing is almost as bald as OTL!

Saturday tomorrow, TM is off to do her Master Class in card making. We think it is either Pan Pastels or maybe Blending or something like that!

See you tomorrow, we're off to mug OTL for some shortbread as he has decided to get the whisky out to help him forget about the printer!

A Day of Changes!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here!

What a funny day today has been. We were up good and early this morning, problem was, Old Two Legs was still asleep and so was The Missus!

A big wet lick behind the ear didn't seem to do anything, so we went back to sleep again until it got just too noisy from the electronic carpet sweeper and the dish washer going full blast for us to sleep!

That was just too much!

Our walk this morning was early, so none of the usual lads were out yet, even the rabbits were still asleep!

Sheerness Still Asleep!
This was just not good enough!

Holly decided that she would woof at the sea birds 'cos the tide was on its way out and they were all gathering for their breakfast, worms and shrimps and mollusc's!

Yoo Hoo! Mollusc's, where are you?
The Little Egrets were dancing around doing their 'Wavy Foot Dance to make the shrimps think it is raining or summat!

No, that's an old sniff as well!
Back home for some super breakfast of Chicken and Biscuits and a snooze in the day bed!

Around lunch time OTL started to gather some stuff together and put his coat and shoes on, but not his 'Normal' doggy walking stuff. This was sort of 'Respectful' type of stuff, like he puts on when going somewhere other than The Forest or The New Park!

So, we thought, what's up here! Is he going to take us out or is he planning to sneak off and leave us at home?

It was the latter, he was sneaking off to get his windscreen replaced because of the big crack that has appeared!

Off he went, leaving us with TM. It was TM who took us out for our lunch time walk but this time Holly spotted a rabbit, so we both had a good chase while TM was jumping up and down calling us back, as if we were listening, there was a rabbit to hunt!

Later on in the afternoon, OTL came back carrying a big china water bowl. You see, we have this Stainless Steel bowl that gets filled with water but it has a sort of 'Twang' to it, so we have to go and drink from the pond, which is full of leaves and OTL always tells us off when we go for a Pond Slurp!

So, he has been promising to get a china bowl for us for a few weeks now, but he keeps forgetting!

Not today, in he comes with this bowl and on the bottom there is a label that says '10" DOG'

Well says Holly, we're bigger than 10" does this mean we have to have two bowls? I thought that was not on 'cos this bowl was so big I reckon we could both have a swim in it at the same time!

No, says OTL, '10" means the diameter of the bowl' and proceeds to fill it with water for us, all lovely and fresh and cool and loads of it!

Well that should keep us going for a while!

We think OTL has meat pie tonight, so, with a bit of luck, we will be mugging him later!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly (Bowled Over!)

Dodging the Showers!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again!

I have just started to up load today's photos and I get a message telling my I'm 'Over Quota', seems I've used up all my 1GB of photo space on this Goggle site.

So it looks like I will have to go and delete photos from the start of my blog!

OK, here I am fifteen minutes later and I've managed to delete a few of the old pictures to make room for today's masterpieces!

This morning when we went out it was windy, not just a gentle breeze, I mean Windy, seriously WINDY!

In fact it was so bad that Holly and I couldn't work out where the sniffs were coming from!

There we were thinking that somewhere very close was a big juicy bacon sandwich with lashings of brown sauce and what did we find?

A pile of old poo!

The bacon sniff was being blown in from some mobile truck stop on the A2 south of Sittingbourne!

It's just not fair to our sensitive noses!

Mmmmm! Bacon, mushrooms and HP Sauce!
We spent the morning hiding in our 'Day Beds' 'cos when we got home there was a big plate of Lambs Heart waiting for us! Mmmmmmmmmm, Super Stuff!

Lunch time we went out again but this time it was to The New Park where the sniffs are many and dogs abound!

That's me getting all poetical!

It was OK to start with, a few sniffs, a couple of woofers to say 'Hello' to and enjoy a little chase.

Then I spotted some rough looking woofers coming down the path towards us.

They looked to types that would pinch you ball and run away with it!

I Spy Trouble!
Of course, as soon as they saw us, over they came all bouncing and woofing and making grumbly noises!

The lead dog had a ball in it's mouth and put it down at my paws, 'Wanna Game of Chase?' he said.

Then he saw Holly and him and his mate ran over to her and asked her 'Wanna Game of Chase?'

No thanks, says Holly, I don't do chase when it's raining.

I don't do Chase in the wet!

Hey, Wot? Says the little one, wot rain?

It was at that very moment that the rain fell down on us, not just a dribble but a big pond full of water.

That was it, off we went like rockets, even Old Two Legs got a move on for a change!

About a hundred yards closer to the gate than we were when it started, it stopped!

Like no rain here but ten steps back you could get soaked!

Very strange!

Back to the car and a good rub down with our towel and the car heater on soon warmed us both up.

Unfortunately, OTL said that the towel was too wet for him to have a rub down, so we let him point the blowers in the car at himself for a couple of minutes, just to dry off his glasses!

Off to do some deliveries and then back home for our snooze before dinner.

We have just got another picture from OTL's Glencoe trip, this is the head of Loch Etive, looks a bit cold and wet to us!

Loch Etive
Dinner is served, Bambi Burger tonight but with out the antlers!

See you tomorrow!

Daisy & Holly

A Splash of rain and Holly does a Barney!

Yo Ho Woofers!

It's Daisy & Holly back with you!

We expected that it would be pouring with rain and our walk would last all of five minutes!

Surprise, surprise! It was dry and as we headed towards The Sea Wall the only water we saw was a burst water pipe by the side of the road!

Down on the Sea Wall we investigated a large number of sniffs, as we do, and Holly said that she had found a new rabbit trail in the long grass. I thought she was mistaken and we got into a technical discussion on sniffs, which Old Two Legs didn't really understand, so we carried on the discussion and he wandered off down the path leaving us all alone!

I've discovered a new Rabbit Sniff!
He didn't get too far 'cos he spotted three Little Egrets on the mud, they were jumping up and down to scare the worms to the surface!

Here, Wormy Wormy!
That started us thinking about breakfast, so off home to a bowl full of Doggy Scoff!

Well, that was it, we both showed off and spent the rest of the morning sulking in our beds!

Lunch time came and we headed off with OTL to do some deliveries but were surprised to head off to The Forest first!

We didn't mind, and Holly and I had some fun chasing squirrels, well, we told OTL there were squirrels but really we didn't see any at all!

Holly said that she could see  a squirrel and said she was doing a Barney, you know, Pointing!

Doing a Barney!
OTL was still clicking away with his camera at the trees, which was a bit odd 'cos most of the leaves have now gone!

The Leaves have Left Us!
After the walk we headed off to do OTL's deliveries and then back home to see what we had for dinner, what did we find?

Doggy Scoff!

It's a good chance that we can mug OTL for some of his dinner tonight, if we are lucky!

Now, we have got to see some of OTL's Glencoe pictures and here are some we have managed to pinch from his files!

More Trees and Leaves down Glen Etive.
Now this next one we are interested in 'cos OTL tells us that it is a Bambi Burger on the hoof and we like Bambi Burgers!

Venison Steak anyone?
Mind you, those things on top of his head look sharp, you could get a nasty jab if he waved them about too much!
Off to mug OTL now, so see you tomorrow!

Bye Bye!

Daisy & Holly

It's Them Again!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here!

We have been having a lazy day today, no violent chasing of rabbits or rats or squirrels, much!

This morning we went out along The Sea Wall and strolled along just enjoying the air and gently sniffing around. Holly suggested that there were some rabbits hiding in the long grass but I thought it was only one rabbit having a run around, just to confuse us!

One or six rabbits?
Then as we got onto the Sea Wall we spotted the rabbit, a long way along the path and we decided that by the time we got to where it was we would be too out of breath to woof at him!

Not worth Chasing!
We didn't worry, there would always be another time and we will be closer next time!

Lunch time was an adventure all in it's self! We met up with the Shih Tzu lads, all woof and tail that lot!

One even did a 'Sneaky Sniff' on Holly who spun around and gave him a good 'Grumble' which told him off good and proper!

Wot a Sneaky Sniff!
It was then that his mates started to woof at us so we told them to go home or we would get our Old Two Legs to sort them out!

Watch It or OTL will sort you out!
It was then that they said sorry and said that they didn't want to upset OTL 'cos he was always pleased to see them and they all got a 'Tickly Tail' from him!

Sorry!
They wandered off and Holly spotted a rabbit and we were off! He ran around all over the place but finally disappeared into a bush and we never saw any more of him.

Where is he now?
OTL was jumping up and down calling and whistling for us to follow him, fat chance if there's a rabbit about!

We didn't go directly home, instead we went of to our most favourite shop, The Doggy Shop!

The sniffs in that place are tremendous! You know they even have little rooms where you can see through the walls where they keep Guinea Pigs  and Rats and Rabbits, all running around and looking very tasty!

We asked OTL if we could have one but he said that we were only allowed Doggy Scoff and nibbles!

So, no rabbit, but we did see some Chicken Fillet packs go into the basket as well as some Chews and some Teeth Cleaning Chew and some Twisty Chews as well as the Doggy Scoff and biscuits!

So, I reckon we can leave the rabbits until later!

We have just mugged OTL for some of his dinner, meat balls and we also had a water biscuit, so, that also made up for the rabbit we couldn't have!

You know Christmas is coming, so maybe we will get a rabbit then!

Claws Crossed!

OK, we are off for a cuddle with OTL now and we have seen him get the shortbread out, so that means another nibble before bed!

Bye bye for now!

Daisy & Holly

Sunshine for a Change!

Yo Ho Woofers!

It's Daisy & Holly here!

We looked out of the window this morning and the clouds and mist had gone, instead there was the sun, all glowing and promising a super day!

We woofed Old Two Legs out of bed and told him about the sun and how he should be out with his camera instead of sleeping Sunday away!

Down on The Sea Wall it was fun picking up the new sniffs but it was a toss up between Rat or Rabbit

Rat, Rabbit or maybe Rat, but it could be Rabbit!
Mrs Corvid was racing about looking for breakfast on the shore and the sun had brought out the Whelks, so she was happy!

Another one!
OTL was in a good mood 'cos he had found a Wax Cap all on it's own!

The last Wax Cap!
Holly was having fun romping along the sea front and I told her that the Dog Trot Dance was getting boring. She called back over her shoulder, 'I'm not dancing, I'm Running!'

Fun Run!
Back home for some chicken breakfast and a snooze in OTL's office while he was playing about on the computer doing something or other!

Lunchtime came and we mugged OTL for a nibble then woofed at him to tell him to hurry up 'cos we wanted to go chasing squirrels again!

Well, the sun was shining and the woods were calling, so off we went, singing our 'Car Driving Songs!'

As soon as we got there we went around to the pond, now this pond is not for swimming 'cos it is not very deep but there is loads of really soggy mud, so even us are not so daft as to want to swim in it!

OTL says it's pretty!
We got around the corner and a big Labrador came bounding along and headed straight for OTL for a cuddle the went bounding over to Holly and said 'Come On, lets play Chase!'

I Don't Do Chase!
While we were having a 'Group Sniff', OTL was looking back down the path to the car park and waiting for the sun to shine through the trees.

Sun through the trees.
Holly and I said 'Good Bye' and proceeded to 'Hunt Squirrel'! First we had to check out the trees around us for any movement in the branches.

See anything sis?
OTL was trying to help us by taking pictures of the trees and zooming in on his display!

Nothing here!
I tried getting up high to see what was moving on the forest floor and over a wider area!

I think I saw Movement over there!
So, I jumped down and did my 'Commando Crawl' through the trees and bushes in the direction of the movement, jumped out into the clearing and saw............

Nothing!
It was then that I heard Holly woofing her 'Squirrel Chasing Woof' and there, sitting on a fallen tree, having a chew on a nut that had been found on the ground!

Nutty Squirrel!
Well, that was it, I chased after the squirrel, Holly chased after the squirrel, OTL chased Holly and me through the trees until the squirrel disappeared.

Boy! Was that fun!

Back home to tell The Missus and get some more nibbles from OTL at dinner time!

See you all tomorrow but beware, there is rain forecast and some cold frosty mornings are coming!

Bye bye for now!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly (Squirrel Spotter!)

It's Another Misty Day!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly Back with you again!

Last night, after we had mugged Old Two Legs at dinner time, we settled down to an evening snooze and  cuddle. I was getting fed up with the noise that Holly was making with the carrot she was chewing. Also, I fancied a chew of the carrot as well but Holly wouldn't let me near her and her precious carrot.

So, I jumped down from the sofa and went over to OTL and asked him for the ball so I could have a game of 'Chase The Ball'

So, OTL tossed the ball down the room and I went after it! Then I threw it up in the air and attacked it and generally had a good game!

Now I know that Holly has this thing about having what ever I have and of course, when she saw me having fun with the ball, she wanted the ball as well! So, she jumped down and rushed over to me and grabbed the ball, I let her have it, but then I rushed back to the sofa, jumped up and grabbed the carrot.

Which was what I'd been after from the beginning!

Sneaky or wot!

On our run down on The Sea Wall, we went hunting rats again but couldn't find any, Holly said that they were still in bed!

We said Good Morning to Mrs Corvid who was looking for breakfast.

Breakfast Calling!
Then we spotted a Little Egret also searching for breakfast!

Shrimpy, Shrimpy, Shrimpy!
Even the Wormy Men were out looking for Worms!

Wormy, Wormy, Wormy!
Holly said that it was just too misty to chase rabbits or rats, so, she will have a practice at dancing the Dog Trot again!

Do, Do, POINT, Yeah!
You know, she is getting really good at the 'Point' bit!

Lunch time came and OTL made himself a sandwich and a cup of tea. We mugged him for some of the sandwich but we left him to drink the tea on his own!

He was going to sit down and watch the F1 Qualifying but we reminded him that we have been promised a run down the Forest again!

Off we went, woofing at the people on the path and blowing raspberries at the other cars!

When we got there, it was amazing just how many leaves were on the ground, that's a sure sign that the winter is on its way!

A Carpet of Leaves!
I was hunting squirrel right away and rushed off into the woods looking for those squirrels hiding their nuts!

OTL was poking his camera into the branches of the trees to get the last shots before the leaves disappear all together.

Just about to fall off the tree!
Holly found the Fairy Queens Throne that she had been looking for for some time but this time she decided that she would not sit in it 'cos there were too many damp, wet leaves on the seat!

Fairy Queens Throne
OTL found some greeny yellow looking fungi and said that he wished he had brought his flash with him.
 Holly said 'Flash Wot?'

Green Fungi
I was too busy looking for those squirrels, I searched under the bushes, up in the trees, then I tried climbing up the trees to get a better view of the surrounding grass and ferns.

Still no squirrels!
This was getting embarrassing, a Super Hunting Terrier like me should be able to flush them squirrels out and chase them up and down the forest floor. Today I was not only failing to find a squirrel but I didn't even get a fresh sniff of one!

Oh! The shame of it, I was Squirreless!

Then, close to the last log on the back path, I spotted a movement in the leaves, I was instantly alert and ready to pounce!

I Spy Movement!
There, in perfect camouflage, blending perfectly with the leaves, not moving a muscle was Ben. He is the soppiest mutt in the forest, just when I'm hunting squirrel, all he wants to do is play 'Chase' and 'Sniff Your Tail'!

Can't see me!
That was it! I'd had enough, not only had the squirrels stayed hidden but I got sniffed by a dopey puppy!

I decided to help OTL find trees to photograph and here's one I recommend!

Recommended by Daisy, wee'd on by Holly!
Back home OTL slept all the way through the F1 practice!

Poor thing gets tired after a long walk and needs his rest!

The Missus got back from her 'Crop' thing in the village hall and couldn't show us what she had made, so we reckon it was another day spent gassing, drinking coffee and eating cream cakes, as normal!

See you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly
