A Day of Brrrm, Brrrrm!

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here, a little damp but worn out!

You know how expert we are at guarding the house and how we do our 'Puppy Patrols' every couple of hours or so? Well, last night we thought we were onto something.

We kept going out into the garden 'cos there was a strange noise going on and it seemed to come from just outside the garden gate, Holly said it was a Hedgehog and I thought it was a stray cat.

So, last night we kept a good look out and a listening watch for anything strange outside.

About three in the morning I heard something out the front of the house, then about four thirty Holly reckons she could hear something as well.

Well, we stood guard at the front window and woofed and grumbled and I even did my excited whine as well.

You know what? Old Two Legs slept all the way through it all and The Missus just barked at us to keep quiet!

No gratitude you know, after all that guarding!

When we went out for our morning walk, OTL spotted some aluminium baking foil that had been ripped to bits, so we reckon it was a cat having a feast in our front garden!

Off we went to The Sea Wall and I was determined to catch me one of those Mouses that run faster than a Squirrel on Fire!

First of all I got Holly to stand guard and stop the Mouses from rushing onto the beach and escape!

 Then I did what is known as a 'Flanking Manoeuvre' or better known as  'Going Around The Back'!

 Then I heard a rusting and did my 'Nose Point' and Holly just flew at the spot, so did I and we got there at the same time!

Nuffin!

 Yep! Missed it again!

 Well, we were jumping around and diving into the grass but we still didn't find it and OTL was trying to take some 'Action Shots' of us hunting but even he missed the Mouses as well!

We soon got fed up with that and retired to our day beds after breakfast at home, that was until OTL picked up the car keys and said 'Brrrm, Brrrrm!'

Now that means, 'Do you fancy coming out for a drive in the car and maybe we will have an adventure as well'

Do we want and 'Adventure?'

You bet!

Off we went and we landed up on the beach at Herne Bay! 

Now this is the place that has got loads of beach huts at the top of the beach and there is always loads of food there where Two Legs come down and open up the huts and sit in front and eat food and watch the sea!

We know this 'cos we have been here when they have done it.

But we didn't get any food 'cos they were hungry and didn't want to give us any!

Lets ask OTL to buy one!

We decided that it would be a good idea if OTL bought one so we can spend the summer down here helping everyone to eat their food!

Today though, there was no one on the beach and instead we had fun running after the ball OTL was throwing for us, until it went into the sea and I got wet up to my tummy 'cos I had to go in the water to get the ball!

OTL did his deliveries and we headed for home but instead of going to see TM we stopped off at The Sea Wall again, just in case there were any Mouses around. We didn't find any and instead we got caught in a shower of rain!

Holly was the first to notice the rain 'cos a drop landed on her nose!

That was it, straight home to a rub down and finish off the last of our breakfast!

Next it will be mugging OTL for some of his dinner before a taste of his shortbread!

It's Another Wet One!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here.

Why does it seem that all Mondays are wet? Woke up this morning, went out the door to have a wee and what do we find? The Sky is having a wee on us!

It's just not fair, I mean, just how can we get our own back!

Down on The Sea Wall we spent most of the walk investigating new sniffs and I even found a couple of new Mouses sniffs as well!

I can sniff a Mouse!

 I never get to see these Mouses, I hear them, I sniff them and I even see the grass move as they run underneath the grass, but, I've never seen one!

We were sniffin our way along the path and we found some 'interesting' sniffs.

Here, I know this one...........it's you!

 Holly was not taking this sniffin seriously enough, she stuck her head into the grass and said,

Ere! This one is Me!

That was it, I'd had enough and gave her the old 'Hairy Eyeball' look that should have told her I was not amused, trouble was, she was looking the other way!

 All the time it was dripping with rain, so we didn't hang around too long 'cos we didn't want to get too wet!

Back home and while we were sniffin at the Doggy Scoff, Old Two Legs sneaked out to go and see one of his customers.

When he got back, it was raining but we had been out with The Missus and got back just before it started!

Lucky or wot?

Tonight it is Bambi Burgers for OTL, so that means we get a nibble, providing it is dipped in eggy yoke!

TM has just called him, so we're off to do some mugging!

We Love Sundays!

Hi Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back again!

We hope you have enjoyed yourself today, we have. First of all, Old Two Legs had an extra half an hour in bed this morning 'cos we stayed up late last night and watched a film on the TV!

So, even we over slept as well!

We were on our way to The Sea Wall and there, in the middle of the road, taking up all of the road, on both sides of the road, was the most enormous thing on wheels, loads of wheels!

One Big Transformer!

 Well, nothing could get by the thing so we had to just creep along the road behind it. Now, normally that would be no problem but we were in need of our walk to do all our stuff and being held up by that thing made us, 'Uncomfortable' to say the least. In fact at one time Holly snapped at me for treading on her head!

Once we got there it was OK, off we ran and very soon we were into the sniffin game!

OTL was having fun with his shadow, here girls, he called 'Look Old Tall Legs'!

As Holly says, 'Yes, how very droll!'

We carried on 'Sniffin The Sniffs' and generally having a fun time chasing each other up and down the sea front and we even had time to woof at the Egret who was paddling in the rock pools!

I see a Shrimp!

It was sunny but the wind was blowing a bit and what with the frost as well, it was a bit nippy, so we were glad we had our coats on to keep us warm!

More Frozen Sniffs!

Back home we had Chicken and Biscuits waiting for us after our brush. OTL was supposed to apply the Anti Flea stuff today but he for got, so we will remind him tomorrow morning that we need our 'Fix'!

At lunch time we were down the Sea Wall again and the tide was right up to the wall, almost. There were some fishermen sitting there looking at their fishing rods.

We met up with Nanook the Husky, he was looking out to sea and sighing. What's up? we asked and he said that there was snow up in Scotland and he wished it would come down here or better still, he could go up there for a run!

Holly said that it would be best if he went up there 'cos if the snow was too deep down here we wouldn't be able to drive to The Sea Front for our normal morning walk!

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

Off we went and at one point we could see a fishing rod and a seat but no fisherman!

Holly reckons that the worms have tied him to the fishing line and have thrown him into the sea to learn how to swim and instead of swimming, he has sunk, just like the worms!

Gone Fishin!

Off we went and OTL was ferreting around in the undergrowth looking for fungi and other interesting stuff, leaving Holly and me to do our own bit of ferreting around.

I found a sniff, it was a super sniff, so, because OTL couldn't see me, I had a roll, then I had another roll and because I enjoyed it so much, I had another roll!

In fact, I had so many rolls that I managed to roll my coat off and leave it in the sniff while I had another roll!

OTL was not a 'Happy Puppy' when he saw me without my coat and I will admit, it was a bit chilly!

It took him about fifteen minutes to find the coat, roll it up and march me back to the car, all whiffin of super sniff!

Back home it was a wash down with a doggy shampoo, warm water and a rough cloth to get all the sniff out of me.

Shame!

Still, I get a cuddle tonight while OTL is watching a DVD and slurping his whisky and of course, I get a nibble of Shortbread as well!

Busy, Busy Saturday!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here with you on a frosty Saturday!

We do like Saturdays, Old Two Legs tries to have an extra hour in bed. (No Way!)

He gets a list of jobs to do. (He looses the list!)

He goes into 'Planning Mode' which can last all the way until Monday morning when it is shelved until next weekend!

OTL can be really sneaky if he puts his mind to it!

We get him up good and early so he can get his jobs done, we head off for The Sea Wall and watch the sun creep into the sky.

 It is still blooming cold and frosty and OTL makes sure we have our coats on so we don't get too cold!

We knew it was going to be cold out 'cos the pond had some ice on it first thing this morning!

 We didn't see any rabbits but we did go hunting for those sneaky Mouses!

Even Holly joined in but as normal, they ran away!

I can sniff at least two here!

When we got back home we had Doggy Scoff waiting for us, not our favourite but we were a little peckish, so we had a chew of some 'All in one Doggy Food Biscuits' which taste just like OTL's cardboard boxes he puts his stuff in!

Then I had a go at the Doggy Scoff which was just as bad but I got half way down the bowl before deciding to leave it for later!

Back up to the day bed for a snooze while OTL does the gutters.

Sorry, he can't do the gutters, it has started to rain, who's a  lucky OTL then!

Just of late this blogging thing has been sort of Taking Over and has changed the pictures and title and other bits, so, I have tried to get back some of the pictures, like, me and OTL and my name, let's face it, it's my blog, not his!

So, fiddly, fiddly, I've managed to get most of it back again! Trouble is, will OTL appear as 'Daisy' in his other 'on line' profiles? Now that could be fun!

Lunch time came and off we went again to The Sea Wall but this time the tide was in and the fishermen were all teaching their worms to swim.

Can he swim yet?

Holly thought she could sniff some sandwiches, so she did her 'Got Any Food Mister' woof, but it didn't do any good 'cos they had eaten their lunch already!

Shame!

We saw some other camera people on the beach pointing their cameras to the sky. OTL asked what they were doing and was told  they were taking multiple exposures, a sort of delayed shutter type of series so that if you look at them quickly, it would look like a film.

Hello Bozo, OTL's got a bigger and better camera than you, so there!

 As Holly says, 'What ever floats your Boat Bozo'!

 When we got home, OTL was straight up the ladder to the gutter and made a big mess clearing the gutter, we stayed inside and watched him through the window.

We have a drain that is supposed to drain the water of the patio if it rains too much and floods the place. Well, in the twenty eight years he has lived in the house it has always been blocked up with dust and dirt so the rain has to go else where to drain away. Well, today, with the help of the hose pipe and some water, he has cleared the drain and now the water flows away into the drains.

The only problem is, whoever laid the patio angled the level away from the house and the drain, so unless we get some serious flooding it is a case of 'No Change'!

We were served up some Doggy Scoff this morning and although I had some I would rather  have some of whatever OTL is having tonight.

The Missus has just called him, so food is about to be served!

Frosty or Wot!

Hi Ho Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here again!

This morning we went out with Old Two Legs for our normal walk but before we had gone out the door, he had put our coats on! Now that means only two things, Rain or Snow!

Well it was a sort of snow, OTL called it frost but it was still wet and cold!

Down on The Sea Wall the sun had already got to most of the frost and melted it away but there were patches for OTL to photograph still!

We carried on sniffin the sniffs and I even had a go at catching those mouses that run around in the grass, without any success, they are just too fast and sneaky!

OTL was still playing with the frosty bits!

On our way back home we spotted an old Heron standing in the middle of a field, in front of the Power Station.

I've Lost Me Puddle, It's GONE!

He was looking around and mumbling away good and proper.

Seems he has lost his puddle!

With all the rain a big puddle appeared in the middle of the field and loads of frogs and toads and stuff like that were swimming around in it and he was having a great time picking them out, like eating a bowl full of nibbles!

Now the puddle has gone and he seemed right put out about it!

Holly called him a Grumpy Old Heron but he just said Hurummmpf, flapped his wings and took off!

Back home to Lambs Heart and Biscuits and a snooze!

OTL got a phone call to tell him that his cameras were all 'Spic and Span' and were ready for collection, so, lunch time came and we were off to collect them and have a walk!

After we had collected them we had a sniff and decided that the closest  park would be The New Park, so off we went, singing our 'Car Songs'!

Well, this time when we got there OTL showed me a ball he had brought along, a brand new shiny orange rubber ball that bounced all over the place!

Holly and I were chasing it and most of the time I got to it first but OTL, being a sneaky Two Legs, pretended to throw it, I would chase off down the path and he would throw it just in front of Holly so she had a chance of getting it before me!

As normal, there were loads of other dogs in the park and we chased a few, well two, and got chased by some others, about ten!

It was all good fun except OTL said that I couldn't go near the Swimming Hole 'cos it was too cold!

I kept on jumping up at him to show that I wanted him to throw the ball.

Come on THROW THE BALL!

Holly, who doesn't do balls, kept her eyes open for other dogs who wanted to play 'Chase The Ball' as well, like big hairy Labrador's who are just total Bozo's for a ball and a Two Legs to throw it!

 OTL has got wise to the 'Retriever' type of dog, 'cos they are the ones more likely to pinch our ball, so he keeps it in his pocket when they are around!

Back home and OTL has got meat pie and chips for dinner, correction, OTL and us have got meat pie and chips tonight, except we don't get any chips!

Tomorrow is the weekend, so OTL plans to clear the leaves out of the gutters and sweep up the rest in the garden, providing it doesn't rain or snow or he gets called out or it's too cold or he can find a reasonable excuse not to do it!

Chilly Start

Hello Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here.

This morning The Missus got up early, waking everyone else up at the same time, so we got our 'Early Morning Wee' a bit earlier than normal. Now that was not so bad, but when we went out into the garden it was Cold!

Holly said it was almost cold enough for frost!

Back inside we ran up stairs to Old Two Legs who was still fast asleep, snuggled up in his nice warm bed. We just had to tell him about the chilly morning, so we walked all over his head with our cold wet paws and gave his ear a lick!

He was not a happy puppy!

Out on The Sea Wall Holly suggested that we do some jogging to keep warm!

OTL said that if he tried to jog bits would fall off him!

Yuk! What a thought!

The sun was trying to break through the clouds over Sheerness and Holly reckons that it would get better around lunch time.

Here comes the sun!

We spotted the Wormy Man heading for the shore, so that means the tide was on the turn and would soon be lapping at The Sea Wall, if it didn't fill his boots first!

It's Behind You!

I thought it would be a good idea to go to The Forest at lunch time 'cos we haven't been there for a while 'cos of the rain and mud and wet leaves and falling trees and...............!

OTL said that as long as it didn't rain then he would consider it!

So, lunch time came and we didn't mug him too much but when we got into the car, we both started singing our 'Squirrel Chasing Song', just as a gentle reminder that there are no squirrels on The Sea Wall!

We both woofed with delight when we turned right instead of left, that would have taken us to The Sea Wall, 'cos right hand turn means The Forest!

Before long we were off the lead and attacking the first interesting sniff!

This one is really good!

OTL had brought his cameras with him but they were left in the car 'cos he was taking them to be cleaned, so all he had was his very old Nikon Coolpix 4500 which is a 'Point and Shoot' type of camera he has never got around to putting on eBay!

So, off he went, trying to remember how to get into the controls and muttering to himself!

Where has the colour gone?

Not bad but it lacks colour of  the leaves and he can't find the 'Vivid' control in the menu!


Holly and I were off chasing the squirrels when we could see them, we could hear them 'cos they were calling us names all the time!

Over here. No, over here!

We were ducking and diving all over the place, sometimes we spotted one in the tree and sometimes we heard two doing their warning call at the same time!

Wassat?

OTL was still playing with the camera, the flash kept on going off every time he pressed the shutter and he was getting the Grumbles 'cos he didn't want the flash to go off!

Too much Flash, not enough colour!

I was all alert for any noise and OTL's camera kept going 'Bleep' every time he took a picture and he couldn't find the control to turn it off!

More Grumbles from him!

Mind you, he did get a good one of me in 'Alert' position!

Do I Look 'Alert' or Wot?

Holly found a tree that had got blown over during the storm and suggested we make a slide out of it.

So she sat down and said 'Look at Me Sliding!'

Then she had to ask OTL to have a look and see if she had any splinters under her tail!

Can you see any splinters?

It's at times like that when you find out who your real friends are!

OTL has been trying to get to grips with his toy that he got from the U.S.A. and as he can't find any live insects to work with, he has been practising with dead mosquitoes he finds on his window ledge.

The ones that have given up the fight to get through the glass window and are laying on their back with their legs in the air!

Another one bites the dust!

Those hairy fan things must be some form of  'Tasting' antennae to detect your breath at night!

Not sure what's on the menu tonight but you can be sure we are going to get some of it!

It's The Middle of The Week, Already!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with you.

Today has been one of those 'Lovely' days when nothing much happens and yet there seems to be a lot going on, if you know what I mean!

We found out yesterday evening that we liked Venison dipped in eggy yoke!

I'm not a big lover of venison but when it is dipped into the yellow yoke, it tastes wonderful! We even had The Missus dipping bits in the yoke for us!

Do we know how to train them or wot!

This morning we got up and listen as hard as we could, we couldn't hear any rain pouring down the windows, so that's a good sign. A few dry days ahead?

When we got down on The Sea Wall we saw some blue sky for a change!

OTL spotted three Marsh Harriers over the bit of marsh land that doubles as a sand pit.

That put him in a good mood!

We just headed off for the Rabbit Hunting Ground where we found that the Marsh Harriers had scared off all the rabbits and left us with nothing but the sniff!

As we got onto the path we spotted a Wormy Man who was leaving it a bit late 'cos we saw the tide chasing him back into the shore!

Run! Wormy Man, Run!

We even spotted a Curlew and a Black Headed Gull who were leaving it late as well, but when the water got too close they just flew off!

We got around the corner and what did we see?

It's the Wormy Man!

Yes Girls, I beat the Tide again!

He had made it back but had eaten all his sandwiches, Holly spotted that straight away and decided there were sniffs that deserved her attention rather than a sandwich-less Wormy Man!

Is that Another Ousalum Bird I see before me?

We spotted them again and I asked about the Ousalum Bird, so Holly recited the poem for me. Well it wasn't a poem, more like a Limerick, any way, it goes like this!

The Ousalum Bird is a pretty bird
See it hop from bough to bough
It makes it's nest in a Rhubarb Tree
And whistles like a cow!

We all had a good laugh about that but the bird watchers didn't turn around, they must have seen something very important!

Lunch time was just great, we started of sniffin' for rabbits then I decided we should go and hunt Marsh Harriers, in the sand pits!

There's a Rabbit here, I'm Sure of it!

So off we went and got half way down the muddy path before OTL decided we should have a walk on the beach instead, cleaner he said!

Me? Grubby?

We weren't muddy or dirty, much!

So, to make up for being called back, Holly and I had a dig in the sandy bit of the beach, before OTL chased us off, still talking about sand in the car!

Holly said that she wasn't really grubby, just a little dusty around the edges!

Yeah! Right!

I did suggest we might go for a swim or 'Deep Paddle' to wash off the mud but she said she had got 'Attached' to her mud and was going to hang onto it for now!

You can dream if you want to, this puppy's not for paddling!

Not sure what we have got tonight, sorry, what OTL has got tonight but it's got to be better than the 'Doggy Scoff' we got served with today!
