Our First Christmas Tree!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here!

Wow! What a start to the day, we had a look out of the window first thing and saw everything covered in thick frost!

Old Two Legs had to get the car started and warmed up before we were allowed inside 'cos it was too cold. In fact, OTL said that it was minus four and a half degrees!

Seriously cold!

Down on The Sea Wall it was just as frosty!

Just look at this lot!
OTL was all excited and started to snap away at the frost covered weeds and grass!

Frozen Weeds!
Then of course there was even more frozen weeds to photograph!

More frosty weeds!
Holly spotted it first, 'Here' she said, 'The Sea is frozen!'

Wot?

'The Sea is Frozen!'

So, we all rushed down to the shore and Holly was right, it was all icy and there were piles of ice washed up on the beach!

Frozen Sea!
We had never seen that before, even when it has been snowy!

Holly and I had a super time running through the grass, chasing each other and rolling in the frosty grass! Even OTL was having fun chasing us and trying to stop us rolling in the frozen sniffs!

Let's roll in this one as well!
You know, the ice was all along the beach and as the tide was coming in, the ice was building up on the beach!

Watch out for the Icebergs!
When we turned the corner and looked across to Sheerness, it had disappeared! I mean there was nothing but ice, mist and frost!

Sheerness's Gone!
Well, that was it, no Sheerness, no Birds, no Woofers and my tail was getting cold!

So, with OTL clicking away at the last of the frost covered weeds we headed back to the car!

Last of the Frozen Weeds
Off home to get some Chicken and Biscuits for breakfast!

Lunch time came and we were a bit worried in case the frost had got any worse but we stuck our nose out of the front door and found it had all gone!

Well, the only decision to make is where next? We could go down to The Forest again but Holly said that she was getting bored with squirrels! The Farm would be too muddy even if there were some badger holes to have a sniff at! So, we decided the only place to go is The New Park! We will be able to have a run, chase balls and meet some of our old friends!

Me, Ball Chasing!
It was great fun chasing the ball then running off into the grass and pretend to hide it from OTL, that means he has to walk into the grass areas and chase me to get the ball back!

Holly met up with the two Greyhounds that came from a Rescue Centre, they were having a good run about and said they were looking forward to Christmas!

Hello Holly Dog!
As we were following the horse trail we came across a Christmas Tree, yes, there it was a tree growing in the park and it was all dressed up in Christmas decorations!

It looked super!

First Christmas Tree!
Heading back to the car we came across a young Pug who had a sort of jumper on to keep him warm! Holly said that it looked good on him but didn't fancy it for herself!

The Pug said his name was Geoffrey and he enjoyed a good game of chase, then he set about chasing me and then Holly!

I got a bit fed up with it and jumped up onto OTL's lap and gave Geoffrey a big Grumble and then I woofed at him!

Come on, let's play Chase!
Back home we both crashed out in our Day Beds, it's hard work enjoying yourself you know!

OTL has got Sweet & Sour Pork tonight, so we are up to do some serious mugging!

See you tomorrow!

Husky Baiting and Squirrel Hunting!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here.

What a day, it has been fun, fun, fun all day long!

It started this morning when both Holly and I decided that Old Two Legs had been asleep for enough time to 'recharge his batteries' and he should be up and running around like what we were!

So, about half four, we both jumped up on the bed and gave his ears a good licking! I've never seen him move so fast so early in the morning and he disappeared under the duvet like a ferret down a rabbit hole!

We left him alone for a while and joined The Missus down stairs on the sofa. Holly decided that she wanted a wander around the garden again and off she went for her early morning stroll in the frosty undergrowth.

It was then that she found this very old fossilised chew that must have been out there for years, it was black and smelly and covered with mold! Hey! Why don't we give this to OTL for an early morning present and off she ran up to OTL who was still snoring in bed. Well, Holly didn't want to wake him again, so she left it on his pillow for when he woke up!

You should have heard him! We are still unsure if he was pleased or furious!

Who knows, he may not like a fossilised chew!

Still, we didn't hold it against him 'cos Two Legs have a different idea of what sniffs good, let's face it, he loves the sniff of whisky and we just HATE that!

Our early morning walk was really good, you see we met up with this fisherman who had his young Husky with him but the Husky was on a lead and tied to the railings. Now this means that he can only move as far as the end of the lead, which wasn't very far. So, being sneaky puppies, we stood just far enough back so that when he rushed forward, the lead stopped him about two inches from where we stood!

It was great fun blowing raspberries at him and watching him come to a sudden stop as he lunged at us!

Come on, let me off the lead, just for a little nibble of the fat one!

We thought that was a great laugh and the Husky didn't seem to get too upset about not being able to eat us!

Next time puppies, Next Time!
We scampered off and a bit further on we spotted another camera nut, just like OTL, except this one was sitting on the Sea Wall taking pictures of the waves!

Shall we run down to the water and Wave at him?

Holly thinks that most of the Two Legs are a bit strange, who in their right mind wants to sit on a cold path and take pictures of tiddly little waves!

...are they all Potty?

Back home it was Lambs Heart and biscuits which was really good and super tasty, better than the Doggy Scoff!

Lunch time came too quickly, seems that I only closed my eyes for a five minute snooze when OTL was rattling his car keys and asking 'Walkies?'

Bless him, we landed back down The Forrest again, which is fine by us two any day!

Holly got there and was first to go snuffling about in the leaves looking for new sniffs.

Spot the leaf on her chin!
OTL was snuffling about as well and got all excited about the frost that was still on the leaves that the sun had yet to find!

Frosty Leaves.
Holly had a chat with Arthur about the sniffs and he put her onto a new sniff he found that said there were squirrels out today!

Second oak tree on the left, 'LoadsaSquirrels!'
Off we went and sure enough, I spotted one on the ground looking for his nut hoard, so he didn't see me until the last moment!

You should have seen him move!

I nearly had him then!
Holly and I hunted some more but they were up in the trees and didn't really give us a chance of catching them. Then OTL spotted one and gave the 'Fisss' sound which means 'Look, Squirrel Sport!' so we stopped and looked to where his nose was pointing!

Fisssss There!
Well, we flew over there like Rocket Powered Puppies! That squirrel was nearly caught but he had 'Vertical Take Off Legs' and just sprang up into the air and disappeared!

Well, that was it, we decided to leave the rest of them alone while we continued our walk and enjoy the sniffs instead!

Back home we finished of the rest of the Lambs Heart that was in our bowls and now we are looking forward to mugging OTL for a bit of his Bambi Burger dipped in eggy yoke!

See you tomorrow!

Monday Squirrel Hunt!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with you again!

We love Mondays, there is always something to do on Monday that you left off doing on Friday!

Now, on Friday we asked Old Two Legs if we can go down The Forest but we got involved with other things, like freezing our tails off in an icy blast down at Riverside or getting cold and wet in the morning!

So, as we didn't get to The Forest on Friday, we'll do it on Monday!

First thing this morning we were down The Sea Wall, as normal, but it was a bit windy and again, a bit cold but not cold enough to have our coats on!

The sun had just got up and there was this golden light shining across from Sheerness Docks!

Morning Glow!
As the tide was right in we didn't spot and Wormy Men and it was too early for the fishermen, so all we spotted on the beach were a couple of Ringed Plovers having a hunt for their breakfast!

Where's my breakfast?
It was fun watching them, until they spotted us and flew off!

Ringed Plover taking off!
As Holly said, they should have carried on 'cos we have decided that they wouldn't taste of chicken and anyway, they were really too small for anything other than a snack!

Now, had we come across a rabbit, well that would be different! Holly said that she sniffed a rabbit on the way back but it wasn't a fresh sniff!

Rabbit but not recent!
Back home it was Lambs Liver and biscuits followed by a restful snooze to allow it to settle!

Then OTL picked up his car keys and said 'Brrrm Brrrm', that was it, we were at the front door woofing for him to hurry up!

There were squirrels here this morning!
Down in The Forrest Holly was off sniffing for squirrels and soon was pointing us towards the latest sniffs!

This is a fresh sniff, about an hour old!
We had great fun hunting around and following the sniffs.

I think it jumped off here!
Then there was the squirrel that ran around the trees and jumped over the fence, I do hate it when they do that, it's very unsporting to go where I can't get to them!

I HATE It when they do that!
What was most annoying was this squirrel sat half way up the tree and kept up a string of chattering and calling us names!

Come up here and say that!
Holly just blew a big raspberry and wagged her back side at it and ran off searching for more sniffs!

Holly looking for more sniffs!
We carried on and had a super time chasing different sniffs all over the place and finally, we had a good snuffle in the leaves before heading back back to the car and then home to have some dinner, well OTL's anyway!

The Last Sniff of the day!

See you tomorrow!

Lazy Lazy Sunday!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here!

We just love Sundays, there is no rush and tear about, it's all just smooth and lazy!

After coming back from our walk and getting some chicken breakfast, I just crashed out again in my day bed that I keep in Old Two Legs office.

Sunday Snoozing!

We had been out for our normal morning ramble along The Sea Wall and we even found the fishermen on the beach again. I said that I would carry on telling him about about TM and the ink and Splodging and stuff but he said he was half asleep and needed a little snooze first, so I left him alone and carried on with our 'Sniff Patrol'!

Fisherman making notes on Splodging!
They did look funny, all hiding in their umbrellas underneath the Sea Wall!

Hiding from the wind!

So, off we went searching out the sniffs, some were new and others were getting a bit stale!

Nothing new here!
Holly has got a good nose for sniffs and pretty soon found some new sniffs that were fresh!

Mmm! This is new!
In fact at one time she got so interested in a sniff that we thought she had got lost and it was only after OTL did his 'Come To Me' whistle that Holly found out she was being left behind!

Here I come!
Lunch time came and off we went again, we had a game of 'Chase the Ball' with OTL and I did my trick to get him to chase me. You see, I normally will get to the ball first 'cos I'm quicker than Holly, so, after I get the ball, I run off into the grass, drop the ball at my paws and have a nibble of grass.

OTL is jumping up and down calling me to bring the ball but as I've said before, I'm no Retriever type and I don't do 'Fetch' games, so, if OTL wants the ball, he can jolly well come and get it!

Spot The Ball!

It was good fun until we got bored with his tantrums!

Holly spotted the Wormy Men out on the mud flats looking for worms but they weren't digging, just looking. Hey! says Holly, do you think they've dropped a fifty pence piece?

I'm sure I dropped it here!

Along the path came Dougal, all full of the joys, he said hello and we had a bit of run around until he got called away to finish his walk.

This is a bit chilly Girls!
Back home it was good and warm, unlike the weather on the Sea Wall, so we were looking forward to curling up and having a snooze until dinner time when we expect to mug OTL for some Bambi Burger dipped in eggy yoke, which is one of our favourite nibbles!

So bye bye for now, see you tomorrow!

Saturday with Old Two Legs

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly back with you again!

Today we took The Missus up to her Master Class at the village hall, really early, 'cos she has to get the hall all ready and laid out for her ladies, just so there is no wasted time when they arrive!

That means we have to go up there in the big car 'cos she has got mountains of stuff, which is OK by us 'cos that means we get to ride in the comfortable seats with arm rests and head rests as well!

Getting down to The Sea Wall early means we get to say 'Good Morning' to the fishermen who were packing up to go home.

Of course, Holly had a good sniff to see if they had any food left and I was asking how well they had done with the worms swimming lessons!

Did any of them learn to swim?
Holly got fed up when he said he didn't have any food but I stayed a while and told him all about TM and the ink being all worn out and distressed 'cos she is smart like that!

..........and then she gets the ink pad and smashes it down on the card and it turns into a big Splodge!
He said he couldn't hang about to hear all of the tale because he had to get home, so I told him I'll tell him the rest the next time I see him!

The sun was up by now and was poking its head around the clouds, so that means OTL was trying to 'Catch The Light', but I've seen better, still it keeps him quiet!

Another Sheerness Sunrise!
It was then that Max came bounding along and we had a chat about some sniffs he had found. Then he told us about Buster, his brother, who had made a complete pig of himself and had eaten too much liver. Now, we know what happens when we eat too much liver and it was the same for Buster, in fact he didn't feel like having a walk and stayed at home!

.........and once he started, well, I thought it would never stop!
Well, we said our goodbye's and headed back to the car 'cos it was getting a bit draughty on the sea front and Holly said we had heart for breakfast!

Back home it was Doggy Scoff, TM had done our breakfast before she left and told OTL to give it to us.

We were not Happy Puppies!

We managed to mug OTL for a bit of his lunch but I think he was hungry as well 'cos he just woofed it all down!

On our second walk along The Sea Wall we met up with Buster (Dicky Tummy) and Max again. Now Buster thinks that OTL is wonderful and is always running up to him for a stroke and a tickle on the tail!

In fact, it can be embarrassing sometimes 'cos OTL is ours, not his!

Hello OTL!
We left them to carry on with their walk and went back to chasing the ball that OTL had brought with him. It is good when he throws it and it bounces on the steps 'cos it starts to go one way, bounces and goes at right angles and lands on the beach!

That's OK providing we can jump down onto the beach but sometimes we have to run along the wall and down the steps and then go back to find it again!

OK, I've Found IT!
OTL found this great big fungi growing in the grass, we don't know its name yet but we will keep an eye on it over the next day or so!

It's going to be big when it grows up!
Then we spotted a Redwing bird, now, we don't see to many of these over here 'cos it comes from the pine forests of Scandinavia and comes over here for the Winter.

A Redwing in the bushes, after the berries!
What we are really looking for is the Waxwings, they come from Russia and come over here for a holiday when it gets too cold for them at home!

OK, we're off to have a cuddle with OTL and maybe get a bit of shortbread, if we are lucky!

So, bye bye for now, see you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly

A Distressing Tale in the cold of Winter!

Hi Woofers!

Daisy & Holly here!

Did you know, it is only fourteen days until the Winter Solstice or the shortest day in the year, after that we are heading towards Spring and Summer!

Roll on the Twenty First!

We woke up early this morning 'cos The Missus is busy, busy with her stuff for the Master Class on Saturday and the lesson this week is, 'Distress Inks and Embossing Folders.'

How do you make ink distressed?

Show it the blotting paper!

Boom Boom!

This mornings run on The Sea Wall was a bit damp and we were feeling Distressed by the time we got back to the car!

I'm Distressed enough to go back home, NOW!
However, we did have some fun woofing at the spaniel types that woof at us but this time they were on a lead and couldn't get to us!

Come on then, if your tough enough!
Then Holly said that she had decided to try some line dancing for a change and set about doing a demonstration!

Look! Line Dancing!
I tried to get the message home to Old Two Legs, so, I stood near to him and gave him one of my special 'Hairy Eyeball' looks that should tell him I'm not a happy puppy!

The Old 'Hairy Eyeball'
That didn't seem to work, was he that unobservant or was he just ignoring us?

Holly even did the 'I'm not a Happy Woofer' bit as well!

I don't do Wet!
You know what, all OTL was interested in doing was taking pictures of the Curlew in the puddle!

Can you see my Australian Cousin?
Seems this Curlew thought that his reflection was his Australian Cousin from 'Down Under', you know those birds can be really daft sometimes!

In the end, Holly and I got fed up and raced ahead of OTL, woofing and snarling like we had a rabbit in our sights, just to get OTL moving towards the car!

Growl, Woof and Grrrrr!
When we got to the car, it was a quick rub down with our special Doggy Towel and it soon gets the wet out of our fur, leaving us mildly damp! Once we get the car heater on it soon dries us and we get warmed up at the same time!

We had Lamb Heart for breakfast this morning, super stuff! After that it was a very pleasant snooze until lunch time when we headed over to the Riverside Park.

Now don't think I'm a wimp but that wind just blew in off the river and nearly blew us off the path!

This is nearly as bad as wet!
We had a run up and down the path and even stopped while OTL took a picture of the Power Station, just for Trevor!

This is for Mr T C!
We didn't hang about for too long 'cos we reckon that there was snow on the way. We were both having a sniff of the air and decided that we could sniff the Snow Fairy and maybe we will get to build a big Snow Dog in our garden!

As we left the park, the sun was going down to sleep for the night so we hurried OTL back to the car and headed for home............and dinner, His Dinner that is!

Come on OTL, it's Dinner Time!
So, back at home it was a bit crowded with TM's stuff for tomorrow, it looks like we will have to give her a lift up to the village hall at the crack of dawn or she will never make it!

Dinner is ready, so, bye bye for now, see you tomorrow!

Luv,

Daisy & Holly
